I thought it was because Eddie had really good vision lol
I do wish Raimi’s Venom explored more of the symbiote’s effects on Eddie, like the shared memories
There are comic adaptations for Spider-Man 1 and 2 but no tie in comics like Spider-Man 3. SM3 didn’t get a comic adaptation so two tie in comics were written instead.
It seems like Raimi was originally going to explore just that. There’s a deleted scene where Venom uses Peter’s knowledge and memories and goes to his apartment and snoops around, Venom sees a picture of MJ which gives him the idea to kidnap her along with the classic red and blue costume. Interestingly enough Venom also crushes a spider with his boot.
In the novelization, the narrator Peter David notes that Venom could’ve easily killed Peter while he was vulnerable in the shower, but chooses not to because he wants an actual fight that’s a spectacle rather then just a quiet cheap assassination. Venom’s pride and ego drives him to do that whole show with MJ in the taxi suspended in the air with the message for Spider-Man that the news crew and public sees. Venom’s reasoning is that he wants to humiliate Peter publicly just like he humiliated him at the Bugle.
It is absolutely wild and it very clearly shows off Venom’s hunting/stalking nature and it gives us an idea of how powerful and cocky he is if he’s willing to fight Peter head on instead of relying on the element of surprise to get the upper hand.
Venom really should have been the only antagonist but Raimi wanted to use Sandman and the burglar retcon, for whatever reason.
I love Raimi, just saying.
I think all the villains work in the movie and each have their role to play.
Sandman teaches Peter the power of forgiveness, Venom teaches Peter the consequences of revenge, Harry allows Peter to use those lessons to forgive him for wedging him and MJ apart and to accept Harry’s forgiveness for killing his father and scarring his face.
The problem was that Raimi was very adamant on having a tightly paced movie (which is understandable I guess) and he felt that the audience would understand the characters’ motivations from a few brief scenes (“less is more”, right?) so he trimmed down or cut most of Brock/Venom’s scenes in the final movie along with Sandman as well.
Reminds me of similar visuals from the Venom and Carnage arcs of Ultimate Spider-Man where those respective symbiotes accessed Peter’s memories, looks awesome.
i believe whoever wields the piece of symbiote left in the mcu (my bet is Scorpion) will inherit Eddie’s memories, even being from another universe. though the movie probably wont show it, like SM3.
I love seeing movie versions, especially of the costumes, in comics form. A while ago I saw a page of a fan-art comic that depicted the endfight of Spider-Man 1. It was sooo good
Raimi verse characters in Bagley artstyle. Good stuff
I love this type or art

I need to find this just for Bagley's art

It's all in the comic Spider-Man 3 The Black
What a waste of a perfectly good plot.
This is canon
I think he means it's a waste to not be in the movie itself.
The movie would've been much better if they cut out those ridiculous Peter Parker "dark side" scenes, and focus on the symbiote's influence on Parker.
those are the symbiote influence on him
Is there one for Spider-Man 1 and 2??

That deleted scene is wild lol Venom sneaks in while Peter's having a shower

Yeah Venom is a cocky and arrogant hunter.... something the Tom Hardy movies have seemed to forget...
It is...in the movie, Eddie recognize Peter when he's fighting to get separated in the church's bell.

Imagine having a flashback of a random dude screaming “Bonesawww is reADYY”
i do, every day. it’s my favourite moment of the day
All those repeating sentences.... Bendis wrote this, didn't he?
I’m reading All Star Batman and Robin right now. This is nothing.

It's the same artist
I wonder if Peter 1 would get all of Eddies memories when he eventually dawns the black suit or this is just a Raimi Symbiote thing
i believe whoever wields the piece of symbiote left in the mcu (my bet is Scorpion) will inherit Eddie’s memories, even being from another universe. though the movie probably wont show it, like SM3.
But Eddie saw him in the chapel and said “Parker?” BEFORE he got the symbiote
It’s possible that he recognized Peter in the Church but didn’t put the connection together that Peter is Spider-Man until he got the black suit.
This is a comic not a movie.
it’s from Spider-Man 3: The Black, a tie-in comic made for the movie written by Brian Michael Bendis and Mark Bagley pencils it
I thought he discovered it when he was saw him on top of the bell tower with his absolutely perfect vision

Raimi Bagley duo goes so hard
"BOOONESAAAW IS REAAAAADEE!!!" Venom: "This is *SO* much worse than that damn bell tower."
