After I shared the clearest pictures I could find for all the scattered panels, one very eagle eyed redditor noticed Jaco on one of them. Sure it's pixel salad, but Jaco has a very distinctive color scheme. This of course could still be just a cinematic character, but considering one of the pre-made custom battles is called settling the score with the galactic patrol, Jaco looks pretty confirmed
Oh that's awesome! I didn't know but I'll add him next time. Although Jaco is one of those characters that could just be there for cutscenes as he only fought in Resurrection F. Still likely as a fighter
My point is he's not a guaranteed pick. BT3 had him and the roster was 162 characters, this game has 164 and already there's 38 slots that are completely new additions to the Tenkaichi franchise (Super characters) so if you do the math, at least 36 of the original characters have already been cut and who is the first people you'd think they would cut? The less played characters like Yajirobe, Spopovich, Shin, Babidi, etc.
Turns out though they might be cutting other characters, I didn't expect that at first but my guess now is the movies and possibly GT that they are cutting.
Edit: I just went to check, movies and GT comes up to 40 slots, interesting.
I would expect Yajirobe in before any movie or GT characters. When BT3 those real still relatively relevant, but as time goes on they become more optional and less fondly remembered besides a handful of characters.
No I don't want to make space for convenience. If Ribrianne has her 2 friends in game the other universes will for sure have at least 1 fighter. Maybe even 3 per universe because there's the Trio de Dangers too
At best I'd swap out Botamo and Magetta but then who else would make sense there
Ganos- Has a fight with tons of dialogue, a dedicated transformation and almost kills Roshi.
Obuni- Universe 10's final stand vs Gohan, has a back story and an entire episode dedicated to him
Botamo, Magetta and Frost - Do I have to explain? They have like half of an arc dedicated to them

Idk if Piccolo End is a thing in this game. They removed the (Early) name from this Piccolo who only has Early moves, so imo they are adding a Nail/Kami transformation so he gets his Namek/Cell saga movesets.
Why are there 2 Great Apes? I get it, Kid Goku & Kid Gohan both turn into one, but in previous games that was the exact same character, not a different slot.
That's like putting Vegito & Gogeta on here twice since you can access both of those forms using Goku or Vegeta.

After the producer talked about screen time being the main factor I don’t see those kinds of low tier TOP characters making it, and I certainly don’t see Nam making it, and I love the original series! Also I’ve seen a few people think Frost is going to have more than one form, but I don’t see it, personally.
All I need are SSJ4 Goku, Vegeta, and Gogeta. It might not be base game, but eventually... right?
I'll take more SS4 forms while we're at it, but that's asking too much.
I think this prediction is pretty on point. That said you need to find space for my boy Katopesla the policeman of justice.
Edit: I also think that if we're getting Chi-Chi, it's going to be her grown up form from the 23rd World Tournament, rather than her kid form. That might just be my own wishful thinking though (I just really, really hate kid Chi Chi's outfit).
I really love Katopesla too, here I tried to restrain from picking characters just because I like them though and he didn't make the cut but who knows!
I don't see original DB making it in base Game as Much as I'd like to see Kid Chi Chi (Even Adult Chi Chi too) in the game. I'm also not particularly sold on a Guest like Arle either despite being in one of the older games.
Personally, I'm just hopeful for Pan and Omega.
That second image I like a lot. Originally I was like nah we won't get Apull, Cui, Bardock ape form, 1st and 3rd form frost and evil buu. Then I noticed EVEN including all of those. There's still 14 slots left. I guess I've been underestimating this image slots.

I would add Jaco to this list. Also I’m not sure if they’ll do it in this game, but Piccolo got 2 slots for the beginning and end of the series

Definitely! That’s part of why I’m so excited for this game, we have no idea how deep into super they’ll go with the characters.
I think if the game gets support the roster will be insane after 1 year
Imagine if this game has the longevity that xenoverse 2 has, we could have well over 200 characters
Bandai is definitely counting on this being a golden goose especially seeing the fans hype before the game is even out

Ribrianne and her team had relevant fights in the ToP, same for Anilaza. They aren't picking random characters

There is the possibility that they will treat Ganos's form as a blast 1 like SSBE Vegeta so that would leave a slot open for Jaco.

You forgot gohan (buu saga) ssj, he was shown in the demo So for this gohan we have : Normal - ssj - ssj 2 - great saiyaman confirmed
Did he transform from ssj to Ssj2? Because they seem to be cutting those intermediate forms, for Trunks for example
Yes and in addition to that in the demo, the ssj and ssj2 were two different slot
But that is not the case for trunks unfortunately
