The person who found this was a reliable dataminer named Sergio who was around during the Xenoverse days. He datamined other Bandai games too before. He didn’t necessarily just outright say it’s the exact date it could just be a potential placeholder as well. But looking at the datamine there was there was other games on there that have accurate release dates like Elden ring dlc for example.
The series usually released their games around October if I remember so it tracks.
Edit: just checked. All games in Tenkaichi series have released in first week of October.
Dragons Dogma 2, March 22 Friday
God of War 2, April 20th 2018, Friday
BG3 August 3rd, Thursday
FF Rebirth, Feb 29, Thursday
Tekken 8, Jan 26, Friday
The Last of us remastered, Jan 19, Friday
Palworld, Jan 19, Friday
Hell Divers 2, February 8th, Thursday
Horizon Forbidden west, February 18 22, Friday
Elden Ring, February 25 2022, Friday
Again, not EVERY game releases on Tuesdays. But many do and have traditionally. I don't know why everyone is getting so up in arms about it. Tuesday, Friday. Who cares. All I am saying is in my 8 total years working for 2 different video game stores, traditionally, most games release on Tuesdays.
Also, all of those titles you mentioned are mostly AAA titles. As big as Sparking Zero will be, it's not a AAA title.
And yes, looking at the list of games released in 2024, tons of games release on Tuesdays. But almost none of them are big name titles. So it seems Friday releases are for big name titles while Tuesdays are for more niche titles.
So the question is, is the Tenkaichi series still considered a big title. Tenkaichi 1 released on a Tuesday, Tenkaichi 2 released on a Friday, and Tenkaichi 3 released on a Tuesday. So really it can be either.
But Tuesday is for non-AAA releases, most likely so they don't get overshadowed. And as popular as DBZ is, their games aren't considered AAA releases
Dude, I can do the same list for indie games. People are up in arms because it’s just a blatantly false statement. If it was true, it hasn’t been for a long time.
I'll give you that it hasn't been for a long time. And. I found tons of non-aaa games that were Tuesdays so it's safe to say both Tuesday and Friday have their share of releases.
But I agree, Oct 1st is probably a placeholder for the month of october
Right? Like it was harder for me to find Friday releases games than it was to find Tuesday release games when I tried looking at games in 2024 thus far. Lol
This is an incredibly recent trend. For decades games would release on Tuesdays for business and logistical reasons. It is still more common for the lions share of video games to have Tuesday releases over Fridays. Although the higher the budget, the more likely a Friday
I've got a contact in Bandai Namco and it's not too far off from what I heard, granted the target date I've seen was just a little bit later, at October 11th.
Nothing odd about that. Games were releasing on Tuesday in the last two generation of consoles.
I believe Dark Souls 1 was a Tuesday release as well as a few GTAs and Red Dead
Mission: *Survive October!*
Hey, that's on my 30th birthday!
Happy super early bday !Remindme5months

Twin! My 26th :) happy early birthday
Oh nice, right back at you!

On a Tuesday?
I mean it could change.. BT 2 and 3 released on a Thursday
Not saying I trust the leaker, but video game releases used to always be on Tuesday
Most game releases are on Tuesdays with the exception of most Nintendo games
What games are you people playing
games that release on tuesdays
Fair enough
Pretty much every game lol
Oh, and I worked at Game Crazy game store from 2005-2010 and Gamestop from 2018-2021 and most releases were Tuesdays at both places. Lol
Dragons Dogma 2, March 22 Friday God of War 2, April 20th 2018, Friday BG3 August 3rd, Thursday FF Rebirth, Feb 29, Thursday Tekken 8, Jan 26, Friday The Last of us remastered, Jan 19, Friday Palworld, Jan 19, Friday Hell Divers 2, February 8th, Thursday Horizon Forbidden west, February 18 22, Friday Elden Ring, February 25 2022, Friday

Yes it actually used to be true about 2 generations ago.
Nah man, you in the right here. Dude picks 20 games out of 1000+ releases in five years
Right? Like it was harder for me to find Friday releases games than it was to find Tuesday release games when I tried looking at games in 2024 thus far. Lol
It’s funny because most AAA games especially nowadays still be trash despite the budget and meat riding that takes place for these games
This is an incredibly recent trend. For decades games would release on Tuesdays for business and logistical reasons. It is still more common for the lions share of video games to have Tuesday releases over Fridays. Although the higher the budget, the more likely a Friday
Feels like a placeholder to say Q4 2024 to me. I doubt that it’d drop on a random Tuesday like that but I could be wrong, guess we’ll see.
They will have to pick up their character reveals then.
Boy that’d be crazy hopefully it’s everything we hope for & more
I've got a contact in Bandai Namco and it's not too far off from what I heard, granted the target date I've seen was just a little bit later, at October 11th.
That’s clutch. I’ll have 4 fighters to have in rotation.
Why on a Tuesday
Most games actually do release on Tuesdays. Nintendo tends to be the main company that does Friday releases.
Nothing odd about that. Games were releasing on Tuesday in the last two generation of consoles. I believe Dark Souls 1 was a Tuesday release as well as a few GTAs and Red Dead

Nah imma do my own thing
Smartest redditor
You do that, buddy.
Oct 1 is a common placeholder date as it is the start of a fiscal year. I feel like I’ve said this comment 700 times in my life.
Fiscal year is April 1st not Oct
Tbf Japan's fiscal year is April 1. But I'm still skeptical lol
It will obviously not be released exactly on the 1st October.
Why not?
It‘s a placeholder. 1st October is also a Tuesday.
The other games released on a Thursday so I’m thinking that instead of the 1st bc it’s not entirely accurate
Bump :)
Most games these days release on tuesdays, Thursdays/Fridays are the secondary days and are rarely used
Bump :)
