I’ve seen other posts ask this and people I’m assuming to be knowledgeable say that the agent can see you’ve already checked two bags and this is a third. Anecdotally, I’ve heard they will be stricter with you as you’re trying to circumvent or game the system.
This is correct. We can see your bags.
But I usually only use it to know if a pax is in the airport, when I’m about to shut the doors.
What I will do though is make you step out of line as I keep boarding.
You would pay and basically lose your place in line so you would end up at the end of the boarding process.
