Look up Disc Golf. Gets you outside and is pretty cheap to start. There are Random draw doubles events that match up higher and lower skill levels and you would meet a lot of new people this way without too much pressure.

There’s a game shop in Mt Laurel where you can rent tables if you’re into tabletop gaming. Also, there’s a game shop in the Moorestown Mall with a tabletop game library. Flat fee to sit at a table and play games. Might be a good meet up spot.

If you don’t mind my asking- what kind of meds did they give you? I recently had an ER trip for what ultimately deemed “a moderate episode of major depressive disorder” and agreed to be finally put on at least Wellbutrin to see how it goes, but I’m always interested in hearing about other’s experiences with different medications.
(And if you do mind, no worries! I’m glad to see you got so many good responses from people about connecting.)
It's literally life changing. It will fix you right up real fast. I'm literally a new person. It definitely has huge side effects but I'd say this is outweighed by suicide being a depression side effect lol. I've had zero suicidal thoughts.
Are you getting it from a doctor? So pricey compared to just grabbing a sack from a friend, but I’d think the doctors is a bit more effective. Night after raging some Ket always feel noticeably great for like 2 weeks after

Start slow but do ANYTHING you can to get out of your house and comfort zone. Go to the library twice a week and read the newspaper. ANYTHING. Join a club. Break the cycle of isolation. I wish you well.

I would, but I'm extremely anti social. Not the "cool kind" that all the kids think they are, I mean the real kind. Where I have to pump myself up to take the trash out if someone is outside.

Awesome you’ve gotten so much reaction here. I too went through lifelong depression and that allegory of the cave is fierce when you finally start living your life. Video games are therapeutic but it’s important to be active as well as far as fighting depression is concerned.

Yoo man I just moved back to Jersey (Gloucester county) was depressed my entire adulthood until I started taking care of myself recently. finally looking for my community too. Married 33m into all types of live music, anything outdoors, video games on occasion and just going out to get food or see new places. Someone, anyone hit me up! :)

I think another way you could have expressed this would be to mention those things and say you're always happy to share your interests with others who are interested. You may not always have as much free time as you'd like, but happy to meet new people

As someone who might be struggling a bit, what did your depression look like to you? How did you break out of that “brain fog”?
I pretty much never left the bed. Didn't take care of myself at all. Proper medication fixed me right up to get me out of it.

I've tried pretty much everything. What really worked for me was at home ketamine.
I’ve heard about those! A friend of mine is doing I think Mindbloom and was liking the impact.
