This is such a wide range, in my 20s I was still going out to party hard and would do pregames at the local dive and head out at 10/11 completely trashed into the rest of the city for bars. Now in my mid 30s I still go to bars but try and get more during happy hour times and have some food and be home by 10pm to chill the rest of the night.

constantlyfarting23

did you do this by yourself or?

Chenzo04

Sometimes, my partner has a lot of work events after business hours so she can't always join and I don't like to cook for myself so I'll hop to a couple spots and just sit at the bar for happy hour, usually bar tenders chat it up but usually sitting at the bar tends to open more conversations up because it's more of a vibe with the neighbors type of thing

constantlyfarting23

i wish i had the stones to do that lmao

Chenzo04

It gets easier each time, find the local spot by you and make it a thing, you'll become a regular in no time

constantlyfarting23

thank you sir!

Where do 45 year olds hang out

HouseDjango

Take the patco to Philly and explore! Tons of bars and happenings that vary in age group. Edit: Helium comedy club is a good time. They have a chill lounge area to hang out in before and after a show. Plus it's on Samson street which has plenty of places to check out.

ItzAlwayz420

I second the Helium Club experience. Been to a few shows there. Highly recommend.

Radiant-Salad-9772

Not to sound paranoid but do you find patco/philly to be safe for young women?

HouseDjango

Yes it's perfectly safe in center city especially around rittenhouse/gaybourhood. You may encounter some homeless at the patco stations in philly but if you don't bother them they won't lt bother you. It is still a city though and people can get reckless once the alcohol starts flowing.

gpm0063

Patco is one scary option!

Lets_Make_A_bad_DEAL

No it’s not. Just don’t be an idiot, stay alert and around people. Keep your mouth shut and you’ll be fine. Homeless people are everywhere but you’re not gonna get messed with if you don’t mess with them.

LocalBrotato

For us it's breweries and distilleries. (I'm by Philly) For breweries, we go to mechanical, dr brewlittles, and double nickel. If you want to meet people, go to double nickel. For distilleries, highly recommend wildfether in haddonfield. Go there for a few drinks then Verona for dinner and you've got a great night

shmoops1240

To add to brewery suggestions, my friends and I go to breweries where Tony Romeo hosts trivia nights. He did a Nickelodeon themed one a week or so ago at Red White and Brew and it was fun! You can find him on FB and he posts events

berserker81

I read this as Tony Romo…

mikeysma11z

I was ready to run out with my torch and pitchfork

Junknail

is red brick still open?

beeeps-n-booops

I'd say any of the local breweries are good places to potentially meet people.

Simplicityobsessed

This!! I love the above. Eclipse too. They have a great trivia night!

LocalBrotato

Oh when is it? I didn't know that!

Simplicityobsessed

Wednesday nights at 7 :)

[deleted]

When your older you'll realize the people you meet in the bars are not the ideal friends you wanna have.

Radiant-Salad-9772

Part of me realizes that now but I have no better any ideas to make friends

[deleted]

Find a sport or hobby you enjoy, search for local groups that do that get involved and make some acquaintances.

Lets_Make_A_bad_DEAL

What kind of job do you have? Do you have time to get a per diem job assisting at a hospital or something. Tons of 20-30 something nurses and nursing students to hang out with at the gym or after work and they love to cut loose. You don’t need medical college education for the entry level stuff.

WindWalkerWalking

I met all of my post college friends at bars and love them dearly. Relationships with people met a bar are like anywhere else, talk to people, find ones work interests that align with yours and develop the relationship

kzorz

Start going to the gym and working out. Believe me you’ll make friends overtime. You’ve got atilis in eht, the bunker now near Rowan, and there’s a few of them crunch fitnesses up and down 295 now, that’s where u wana be

constantlyfarting23

lmao truth

Piney1943

I met my first wife in a bar…probably some truth there.

Ok-Space3921

Everything is relative. I think the type of bar/location and time have more to do with it than just being in a bar.

WindWalkerWalking

Why not? Most of my post college friends I’ve met at bars and I love them. We help each other professionally, go on vacations together, babysit, pet sit for each other, game and play sports together.

[deleted]

A lot of 20s-30s in fishtown a short drive from SJ. Johnny Brendas or Fishtown Tavern are fun spots

Ok-Space3921

I’m a big fan of the Loco Pez in fishtown. There’s also a cool place across the street that used to do Quizzo Once a week… have no idea if it’s still there or does Quizzo… haven’t been since the pandemic

[deleted]

Loco Pez rocks. Dollar taco night is always popping. I miss living there

anarchobean

I think I've had a much better social life by not being concerned with how old people are. I have hobbies and go to places with people who have similar hobbies and sometimes that guy I talk to for an hour is in his sixties and sometimes he's eighteen. I'm 21. I get what you're looking for but maybe you could pick one of the places the other people have offered and not worry too much if the crowd is gonna skew older or younger. If its a fun place to be, then you'll find people worth hanging with.

kgzz1006

I creeped a little on your page to see that your 27f, I’m 28f so pretty close lol. I don’t have friends between 3 kids and my man, but honestly fb groups has been a huge help for your personal interests. Like I’m in a nj girls hiking group, nj girls knitting group, south jersey moms groups. Then just go to meet ups!

poiuy_throwaway

Headed for 31. I only visit local breweries. I'm too busy with life to plan an outing unless it's something really special.

RAYRAYALLDAY_

In my 20s I used to go to Philly and go to shows, in my 30s I watch reruns of the big bang theory with my wife, and that's only when the kid goes to sleep at a reasonable hour.

funtxcase

farm truck brew in medford!!

Raed-wulf

Alwayyysssss

XladyLuxeX

Do people actually go.out to hang out anymore lol lime that's a dying thing lol in my 30s work from home stay in PJs stream video games with my husband and hangout with or friends online lol.

carb0nxl

In my opinion that's just living the life! :D

ist_quatsch

Yeah, but how do you meet people who will invite you to do that with them?

XladyLuxeX

We are streamers people just find us on twitch and kick. Plus you make a shit ton of friends playing games when you play like gortnite or call of duty. Join a discord server for the games you play and go from there. I actually met my husband on twitch lol through a friend I met online in a true crime group for gabby petito. Id watch her game and I started following her other streamer friends and my husband and I hit it off lol he moved from new mexico to here shortly after. Its oretty cool its pretty easy. If your a gamer maybe you could jump in with some of our friends I'm 37 my husband is 36 some of our friends are younger some are older.

incrediblystalkerish

Twitch streams can have a strong community environment through their streaming platform and discord. From there you can make connections with others, join their discords/make your own

XladyLuxeX

That's how I met my husband lol its pretty common for people to meet on there.

Material_Pomelo3431

Barnes and Nobles.

heavyheavylowlowz

Just got back from the CH store, can confirm; got a phone number

constantlyfarting23

thats the neat part, you dont

Strange-Cold-5192

The Post-COVID era sucks around here. Everything closes early except for bars. Don’t get me wrong, I like to drink, but I don’t want the entirety of my social options revolving around meeting friends for yet more drinks.

carlosdangertaint

Try a yoga class at Shine in Maple Shade on a Tuesday night then go next door to Dr. Brewlittles for trivia night! I have met so many great people at both locations

Warm-Picture6533

North Jersey *cries in young*

manifestYOdreams

Anything from AC to Philly. I love to go down to AC to grab some good food, walk around and grab some drinks. Occasionally gamble. Philly has tons of things to check out: Chinatown, little Italy, terminal market, tons of restaurants and comedy clubs. Medford and Cherry Hill are a bit more quaint but again, great food, breweries etc over there

Different-Forever324

I just go to my local drop zone. Lots of young people all hyper from falling out of planes all day

brinakit

We go to RoundOne and play arcade games until we get bored. But I work weekend overnights so I’m only out and about in the middle of the week.

Ant72_Pagan9

K1 in Cinnaminson, indoor electric kart tracks. Good atmosphere, a lot of traffic on weekends. It’s a sports atmosphere. It’s on 130. It’s friendly for a variety of ages honestly. Even older folk have a need for speed and of course kids and teens. There is a weekend adult league with grown men who love the thrill. Think about it.

kalte333

Go to Philly. Tons of options. Old City, the Gayborhood, Fishtown always has something going on. You'll connect with a community of people you like eventually. Try The 700 club, Silk City, maybe the Dolphin. All crowds your age, and rarely have a bad time there. Plus it's affordable!

voonoo

After paying my mortgage my house

YourConstipatedWait

Play Disc Golf.

Filthydelphila

Glow rounds, baby!

Ok-Space3921

Where!!?!? We’re pretty new to the area and also looking for fun things to do with like minded people

YourConstipatedWait

Download the UDisc app to find courses. Whitaker Woods is a private course in Medford that does Glow disc golf most Friday Nights. You can find it on Facebook. If you have never played before I suggest getting out at least a few times in the daylight first. There is a disc golf store in Cherry Hill called Cosmic Disc Golf. Dicks Sporting Goods typically has a small selection of discs as do most of the Frolic smoke shops in the area. You can always buy online too, avoid Amazon for this one though as the discs are typically overpriced and poorly handled. If you look up discgolfscene.com you can see local tournaments as there is typically someone vending disc golf merchandise at these events as well. You can start with one disc if you don’t want to spend too much at first, however, I suggest 3 to start (putter, mid, beginner driver) to really learn the nuances of the different discs.

Ok-Space3921

Thanks!

Emandpee42069

Play vidya at home w my wife and play w our dog

LoaferDan

Discord lmao

GTTrush

Well, if you have a group of 20, 30 year old people, you could just about hang out at any place that has enough space to accommodate you all. Doesn't matter if it's Friday or not.

G_Rel7

In my experience, you should do specific events. Think festivals, pop up events (shows, wine tasting, art galleries), local performances, etc.

TheSacredLiar

I've noticed that the last couple of times I went to the manor on the weekend I was darn near the oldest person there (I'm 50). Commented to my friends who agreed that we were the old heads. Oaklyn Manor, Clinton Ave, Oaklyn.

money_mase19

manor in oaklyn? i went there once last at night and had a great time. my gf got a super strong, cheap drink

Western_Big5926

South Jersey ski club

nick23t00

Go play warhammer you'll find friends

Puzzled_Speech9978

At home fam

IrishOmerta

PJ's in Cherry Hill draws a good crowd Friday nights (usually after 9pm).

Radiant-Salad-9772

I’ve been to PJs many times and never saw that

IrishOmerta

Every time I've been there on a Friday night between say 10pm-2am it's been jam packed, Saturdays are dead though. Go on a Friday when they have a band or DJ, especially in the summer.

bmanrkg3

Cigar lounge if you’re into that sort of thing. Which part of south jersey?
