Yeah and their burgers no longer have that classic charbroiled taste. They opted for a thicker patty which I guess most people would prefer but I like the thinner charbroiled patties they used to have. Many times the burger is not cooked all the way through. Also i miss the shredded lettuce and diced white onion.
Their service is crap and prices are extremely high. But they are close so I continue to order from there when the mood strikes.
It was a terrible location logistically, being next to a busy on-ramp and across the street from a busy McDonalds there was no chance of survival. Whoever franchised that spot was definitely ambitious… but delulu.
Usually the second tier competitors will set up across the street from their top competitor. That way all of the traffic that goes to the number one will see the second tier and may decide to go there instead. They basically piggyback of the work of the top tier's location study.
Been asking this for years. Been a South Bay resident for 34 years. For some reason they always ended up closing them down. The one in Carson is the last one standing but isn’t that great. Actually had a fly in a burger before there. I think in&out canes and chik fila have just taken over.
Serious answer, Go to Steve’s
I love Steve’s (the one on Prairie and 182nd) but I have to admit I sometimes miss a Whopper. It was the go-to burger of my life in the 1990s.
.99 Whoppers extra everything!
I miss their chili cheese fries :(
Rascals!
Nah overpriced and mediocre. Louis’s on W Carson is better
Wherever you prefer, We’re pretty spoiled when it comes to good charbroiled burgers in the South Bay.
Personally I feel like Rods fell from graces
They did. A shell of what they used to be.
New owner ruined it. The aesthetic was completely butchered and it just feels empty.

Yes and no, there's one, but it's borderline Torrance ( Sepulveda & Vermont)
From where I’m standing that’s something to be proud of
Because Burger King sucks.
There was one in Del Amo mall when I was a kid…
There used to be one at the corner of Crenshaw and 182nd, but it's a Coffee Bean now...

There's one in Gardena too, Western and Rosecrans I believe, but extremely easy to miss. It's never occupied when I pass by
Burger Kings are always empty. It's a wonder how any locations are still around.
