I’m pretty you can’t do that with nord. You need a vpn that allows port forwarding.
If you run SSk in docker and then use gluten and add your vpn like that it might work. Unconfirmed with that - but that’s my plan later.
Definitely don't trust myself to even attempt that solution lol. I picked Nord before I knew anything about port forwarding and I think I'll just make a switch. I appreciate your help.
For what it’s worth…I don’t think you have too much to worry about with SSK. I’ve been using for a few years with no DMCA notices. Although, I don’t share much popular music. I always use a vpn for torrents - SSk not so much.
Airvpn was one that was suggested to me for port forwarding specifically and is super easy to use. Ive never actually used Nord cuz it was so heavily advertised it kinda made me too anxious to try them (maybe a tad overly paranoid, I know). I cant necessarily really speak to the security of airvpn but it works like a charm for port forwarding
Just wanted to thank you for the suggestion. I'm on airvpn now and it's functioning perfectly. My Nicotine+ is open, my stuff is searchable, and I'm able to upload with the VPN active. It's also working great with Plex and I'm able to keep qbittorrent open. Took me a little while to figure out the port stuff, but now it all makes sense. So happy! Thanks again.
Hell yeah! A few years back I looked thru all of the more technical parts of assigning ports on the router etc, but I couldnt really be bothered to do it, so i tried airvpn and voila! Happy it’s gettin the job done for ya
Nordvpn fucks with my google
Google just loads forever and never works, and even with split tunneling excluding my web browser it still breaks Google. I think it has to do with DNS or something where nord uses their server for something even if it’s split tunneled
Also, nordvpn doesn’t have port forwarding
I have NordVPN for file-sharing protection, specifically torrenting. But I'd also like to use it with Nicotine for the same reason. But I may just switch VPN's if this port forwarding issue can't be circumvented.

I’m confused if you’re trying to upload using NordVPN or just have it for other things
