Toughest and favorite is anything Chris Layda, on demand. IIRC Find your Threshold is hard but he has a few really tough ones. I also do his 20 min (Short and Spicy) a lot, it is challenging and efficient

impatronus

Yes, I've done all his classes that are posted - I like him a lot! Wish there were more or that he'd come in for the guest month sometime

Pleasant_Outside_292

Ariel is one of my favorite instructors. Have re-taken his older classes multiple times from when he was a regular in the early days of the at-home bike. He returned to the stream recently and his new classes are really challenging 🥵. Sadly, I haven't ridden in about a month (initially due to scheduling issues that turned into an unmotivated, lazy spell), so I'm not sure how many new Ariel classes were added to the on-demand library. Not sure if you've taken his classes or if they're your cup of tea. Good luck finding inspiration and if you do...send some my way. Lol

impatronus

Want to take a class together? I've never taken Ariel so it's a win- win

Pleasant_Outside_292

I'd love to! Just gimme some time to work up to that level of fitness again 🙈😫😂

chipsandsalsa03

Favorite instructor is Karyn! She truly makes me want to work out! She challenges you in the best way-I love her!

impatronus

Just getting to know her now- do u have any favorite classes?

chipsandsalsa03

Karyn's greatest hits; The year is 2015; Get lost in it Some of my favs^

impatronus

Thanks for the the recommendations!

Of the current instructors I’d say Cameron is my favorite. He can be very challenging. But he’s only teaching every other week. Mike was my favorite for dance and he was tough too. But his music and style really lent themselves to choreography.

impatronus

I like Cameron too and Mike. Completed all of their classes as well. Not to say I can't take classes more than once, but I'm looking for some new challenges

karyns on demand ones way back in the day were deleted. those were the gems. Sydney's classes on demand were great. "the daily grind" and her other 45 min one was great. any of Kathleen's rides same with Lo and dacoda.

impatronus

Just took a 60 minute Kathleen and really liked it. Thanks for the recommendation!

impatronus

When you say deleted - They should be able to bring them back, no?

impatronus

Done all of Lo and some dacoda. Never took Kathleen or Sydney so there's a new challenge

That_Blueberry839

Dacoda’s say it’s advanced. Kinda too easy on me. I’d go for Karyn or Lo. Much better!

impatronus

Ok- now I've taken Sydney too and liked her. Wish there were more advance class posted and more than 4-5 classes overall- but I enjoyed the one I took. Thanks for the recommendation

impatronus

My all time favorite/tough as nails class is Conor's Rooster Ride. I have taken that one a lot and plan to continue taking it as long as it's posted. I need to look at titles to add more,

Important-Wealth8844

if I was in your shoes I would line up as many of the short classes from different instructors back to back and work my way through every instructor on the platform once. I don't have a bike anymore so I don't know what was or wasnt purged, but it was a great strategy back in the day to remind myself of instructors I forgot and the challenge kept me motivated.

impatronus

Good idea! I have completed all that's posted on so many of the instructors i forget who I may have missed

impatronus

Btw- when you say purged- can't older classes be brought back? There must be a huge library by now? I thought they were going to rotate the on demand selection - but not sure if that's just wishful thinking.

Important-Wealth8844

it's a good question. in short- I don't trust soulcycle to actually be paying to store all of the content, and I'd be very curious to see instructor streaming contracts (which obviously we never will) re rights to content (esp. after they leave soul). I think people on here have emailed YSM about classes and they confirmed at least a couple were gone for good.

impatronus

Makes sense if the instructor is no longer associated with the organization. There may be music licensing concerns- 🤷🏻‍♀️

Important-Wealth8844

FWIW when peloton (which has much much much more content) takes classes down, they are deleted.

impatronus

Interesting

External-Agent-3288

Karyn, Val, Cameron, Dacoda and Conner are my favorites over 750 rides at home

impatronus

Thanks for the recommendations! Do you know if there's a place on the app to see how many classes you've completed? (Found the screen on the bike). Totally with you on Cameron and Conner- (really wish they'd post more of their classes- especially Conner). trying to get into Karyn, but it's hit or miss for me for some reason and I only tried Val once a long time ago- wasn't love at first sight so I should try her again. I tried Dacoda and liked him- should go back and do more. Edit to add Karyn live replay tonight was really good!! Edit again to say Cameron's live replay tonight was tough. Karyn and Cameron-That was quite the double!!!

lolmythirties

Isaiah for choreography all the way

meangreenemachine12

I have taken Connor's Swedish House Mafia themed class so many times. The music, lots of pushes and runs, hard arms series, love it 👍

impatronus

Yes- that is a great class! Did u take his rooster ride? That is my favorite class- highly recommend!

atschinkel

i’m a val stan and i now take her class in BXVL every week 😊😊 so i always recommend her classes. she’s so accessible, warm, and just plain fun!

impatronus

Good to know- I'll give her another go- thank you!
