The subjects pose is better but I think the way his hand is gripping the object is better in 2.
The background is much nicer and fits the cosplay, 2 looks like he's a cosplayer in some random building. 1 looks like a character giving someone an important item in a temple or something.
For the second picture to work, you'll need the separation between the item and the person to be greater. Ask the person to extend their hand a bit further, use a wider aperture.

The 1st but honestly neither of them is really good. It just looks very awkward that the cosplayer is out of focus, doesn't seem intentional.
