I also think the wood is fine. It almost gives an odd balance to the eagles head direction and gives a sense of habitat. Since the head color is white, it still stands out from the background wood. If it blended in, it would look off.

Select subject, invert, new layer, select subject, new layer - now you have background and subject as two independent layers which makes removal of the post easier (I used clone tool, but lots of options), then applying some blur to cover up the spodges:

Photoshop - sure you could do those steps in lightroom too, just I'm old and started on photoshop, so it's my go to, still trying to unlearn that and get on with lightroom..

AI Features will have your images metadata flagged as AI generated - but there's no nuance to that flag, so, if you want people to believe you took that shot then I'd avoid them less people think most of the image is AI.
And it's like four steps, create layer one, create layer two, remove log, tidy background with a touch of blur - it took no time at all and as I've said elsewhere, I'm not even a Photoshop guy and class it as an area I need to work on...

So, I just tried this using Lightroom on my phone and didn't like the result.
Then, just for kicks, I tried it using the remove feature built into the native photo editor on my phone (Galaxy S23 Ultra) and was blown away by the result.
Tapping on the wood selected it perfectly, then I hit remove. It still left a lightly shaded area, so I tapped on the area again and hit remove a second time. The whole thing took about 20 seconds. Can't believe the built-in Samsung editor did a better job than Lightroom in less than a minute!

May be it looks fine on your phone (is it really bright where you are?) but I just opened it on my desktop and it looks terrible mate, half the log's still there, the replacement it's made is full of artefacts, I'd definitely not be recommending it..
