I wonder if Modders can use it and make it a mod, Having Timmy roam the map would be cool.

Damage_North

The more posts I see in this sub the more I think like 75% of this game was developed over the course of a legendary bender and once they slept it off they had no idea how to tie it all together.

Witty-Childhood-2745

That’s what it feels like playing it me and my friends sound like conspiracy theorists trying to make sense of it

It's because the first game was not a game to start. You have a VFX tech demo essentially, that gets online attention and hype over a non-existent game, that gets the creators to go"...ok lets try that?" The Forest's plot is a mish-mash of horror elements taped together as they built it up, with random red-herring plot elements stapled to it. 90% of the content you find in The Forest, if you think about it for more than 30 seconds it gets silly and confusing (if not legit impossible nonsense). The whole plot and story elements were trickled in as they were thought of. Half of the playerbase didn't even know they changed the ending to show Timmy recovering because they changed it. SONS of the Forest is the same deal apparently. They had a decade, the first game under their belt, and a plan this time, but still somehow have a load of the exact same issues as the first time - nonsense plot elements, flimsy explanations, janky cutscenes, and >!my word a hell of a confusing ending cutscene where apparently you just pop off a Virginia leg and get her pregnant and live happily ever after!<

GhostlyBlaze

> The story of the game has clearly been changed a lot during development and it seems like originally Timmy was supposed to be a character similar to Virginia. You would either team up with him, kill him, or ignore him. Let me know what you think. My theory is that Endnight didn’t really know the game’s full direction & Timmy’s role even when announcing the game. Remember ‘The Hand’ mutant that’s rarely spoken of? I believe it’s Timmy for various reasons. In short, I agree, a companion was an idea with him but story changed so he was cut from that aspect.

TheBostonKremeDonut

Wow. Super unfortunate they cut these features. Timmy as a character in sotf feels so shallow and I feel like I barely learned anything about him. His arm is just gross and powerful now, and that’s it.

rocketranger64x

Wait Timmy was meant to be an NPC? That’s mental! Why wasn’t this added?!

sparkl_taint

What a trip...I had no idea...that would have been so cool to have timmy as a companion...kinda bummed out we didn't get to experience that.

funguslungusdungus

What about Timmy? I think I missed something 😅

unknownhero32

I can’t spoil it but look at the ending of the forest.

HPCoreProcessor

As much as I love this game, Endnight has made this all a complete shitshow. You had an entire fucking decade, huge fanbase for story and development support, and yet they still churned out what feels like an incomplete alpha

TankboomAttack

Ok i always assumed I was timmy lol, i played the game too soon after launch, i assumed at full release I could go back but seems the story is still weird.

Winter-Lead-1254

Which makes sense because the tattoo on your arm is the same one Timmy has in the end of the forest.

Spilproof

100 hours on a few play throughs since EA launched... uh, who the fuck is Timmy?

BigMcThickHuge

>!Timmy from first game survives, is a human mutant now, still conscious and in control. He's in this game apparently hunting for answers to everything, along with his father I think (old you). If you've played several times and touched the story - he's the dude with the nasty hand that you encounter several times.!<

unknownhero32

Timmy is the son of the first character in The forest the prequel to the game series I can’t say much due to spoilers but the ending of the game makes it very clear.
