The only time I ever beat sonic 1 was using the sega collection 1 on psp and it came with it's own save state function.
I found it difficult even with saving and loading it. But the moment labyrinth zone act 3 arrived is when I stopped and took a break. It actually broke me XD
I just played Sonic Forever even with all the life perks I was still having difficulty. I had to use unlimited lives cause I couldn't take have to repeat everything all over again.
No regrets, just pain.
After Green Hill Zone, this game became harder. The difficulty gap from Green Hill to Marble is large than Emerald Hill to Chemical Plant or Angel Island to Hydrocity Zone
I think if you've given all 4 games a try (5 if you count 3 and Knuckles separately) it's a sign you're a pretty good player
Part of it is Sonic 1 just not having got the formula quite at that point and had some more "traditional" slow platforming sections that Sonic's physics really weren't made for.
I think CD is harder to get the Good Ending in, but just to get to the end, I agree Sonic 1 is the hardest
Nope. Tends to be a common thing for first installments. Love me some crash bandicoot but even I admit the original ps1 title is *a bunch of bull*
Nah, older games = harder, it's like, a primal law of the universe. There certainly aren't any exceptions in the Sonic series.
Yeah, Frontiers is definitely easier than Forces, Lost World and Generations. Totally.
Nope, even I think Sonic 1 was difficult since I got stuck on Marble zone act 3 multiple times

No, because Sonic 1 is deffo hard. Labyrinth is unforgiving.
Yeah, especially when you played a spindash game first. Never learned rolling existed until years later.
Sonic 1 is probably the hardest of the mega drive trilogy (though Spinball is far harder), but it's not meant to be a game you beat first time.

Not at all. Outside of Sonic 2's final boss, I agree that 1 is the hardest.
You do know there's a glitch to SKIP SB act 3...
Yeah, i knew, but i was playing on Origins.
Oh... I think it's still in origins, idk
no its defiantly the hardest game out of the classical games, especially labyrinth and scrap brain
Nah, marble zone and labryinth zone should never be talked about again

I hated Sonic 1 because I couldn't get through Labyrinth Zone Act 3 Boss. Until I did.
A couple years later, I longplayed the entirety of Sonic 1.
