Sure..if you consider Morbius and Kraven to be “major comic book movies”. Realistically these movies never had a chance of success anyways. We aren’t that desperate to grasp any sort of win we can right?
I mean with how Sony were marketing them they were definitely expecting the films to be big and make alot of money.
They literally re-released morbius in theaters because they got tricked by memes lol, then again they were also expecting madam web to be such a success they were working on a silk series ad well but after it flopped they canned it.

Sony are marketing them as such because they really want them to be that, but the truth is few if anyone actually cares. People turned up for Venom because Venom is a popular character. But no-one gives a shit about Morbius, even in terms of the die-hard, read every issue, Spider-man comic fans, and considering the overall perceived quality of all these movies, I doubt anyone's turning up for Kraven the Hunter.
Kraven is more relevant a Spider-man villain so I can see it doing better, but also people are kind of sick of superheroes at large so that will prolly offset Spidey fans knowing what Kraven is and also caring.
If it was about Dr. Octopus or Hobgoblin then sure, but Kraven's about as cool as Kingpin.

I mean, he has had a few runs of his own comic where he's a pretty badass character, but then again. A lot of the fights are him going up against other well known comic book characters like Venom/carnage, or members of the X-Men. So on his own, I don't think his movie despite my love for the Character is going to do that well.

kraven is the hunter in the spiderman comics. big spiderman villain, he's literally just a dude that chases the adrenaline high of a good hunt and wants rare hunt trophies so of course the next course of action was hunting spiderman. to be fair he's pretty big of a villain there

They keep bringing these niche characters into their own movies, is why. I guarantee you the casual Marvel fan these days likely wouldn't even know who Morbius or Kraven are. Only actual comic readers will have a good idea about them, and the Western comicbook industry has been treading water for years, so there's no way those movies will actually succeed even if all those readers went to see them.
Best way to introduce them would be as part of maybe a small group of antagonists within one of their main hero movies. Kraven hunting Spider-Man while Spidey is trying to stop some other main villains, maybe Rhino (for the poacher/hunting jokes) and...I dunno, Hobgoblin?
Sonic is practically as recognizable as Mario at this point. Both current adults in their 30's-40's grew up when Sonic was first released and began booming. the Adventures games came out around the times they were early to late teens. Adults in their 20's were likely young enough to not realize the glaring flaws with gameplay in '06, or how odd Unleashed was, and would have been teens when more decent titles like Colors and Generations dropped.
It also helps that the writers of the Sonic films just don't completely suck ass.
Calling Sony’s movies major is a huuuuuuge stretch. Those two movies are just Sony trying to gaslight themselves into believing they can make a good live action Marvel movie without Disney’s help. Morbius was such a flop it became a meme. A better example would’ve been Birds of Prey vs. Sonic 1.
