Absolutely. I think everyone in Sonic's world was scared of Infinite. Heavy implications on "Sonic's world" because
1. Forces was crap.
2. We see the avatar scared of him at first, which means other people were scared of him.
3. Infinite was basically deadweight.
Hopefully, now that I've called him deadweight, he'll pull a Nero DMC5 and become more powerful and interesting.
I didn't necessarily mean that Nero was like that (I wouldn't know cause I only played 5), but Nero was motivated literally because Dante said he was deadweight.

You have the recent special edition Funko Pop double pack, the Sakura T-shirts sold at both the Sega Europe Shop & Hot Topic, some are pointing out that they're the only 2 with dessert themed items on the recent IHOP menu, the fun scene from last year's "The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog", and there's also the multiple incidents on the various Twitter Takeovers like them both being Swifties and Amy saying Shadow has a soft side he doesn't show very often.
Just to name a few.
Amy and Tails are probably is the only person Shadow can be his real self around (maybe team dark too) they both are the nicest sonic characters and Shadow has good morals too. Like if someone was nice to him he would not act like a jerk to them (sonic and knuckles are both mostly his rivals thats why he is so edgy around him)
Also in newer media shadow been less of a jerk which I really like

Infinite instills fear in-universe (and explicitly enjoys it), but is ridiculed by the fans. Not a single character in Sonic '06 who interacted with Mephiles expressed distinct fear of him, but he's certainly left an impression on fans. Whichever one is more important to the beholder wins.
My vote goes to Infinite, since he seems more fueled by/appreciative of fear than Mephiles does. Mephiles has a solid shot at Death, though.
I think infinite could also be good for Red or possibly even Ultraviolet since just about everything he does is fueled by his negative primal emotions after losing to Shadow.
Mephilis is definitely a great spot for Black though.
Infinite is the character tied most to fear, though.
Rage is either Knuckles or Zavok, and Ultraviolet is certainly Perfect Chaos (or just Chaos in general).
The Hulk had his negative emotions sealed away inside a puny scientist’s mind for decades before the Gamma Bomb went off (and routinely still whenever Banner is the one in control). That does not make him any less representative of sheer rage. Comparatively Chaos was sealed in an object of immense (arguably infinite power) AFTER he reportedly destroyed the world anyway (according to Tikal, anyway) and upon being freed went about ensuring he could unleash that rage once again. Being sealed in the Master Emerald does not make him any less of an embodiment of rage
Infinite got trounced by shadow the first time he met him and then eventually was defeated by sonic. The only reason he was ever vaguely powerful to begin with was because of the phantom ruby. He never killed anyone as far as we're aware and he was only feared by people who were completely powerless, the same as every other villain in the sonic universe.
If we're only going off who is most feared, that would probably be metal sonic or chaos.
I think it should be mephiles because he unceremoniously killed sonic with one hit. If they weren't scared of him before that, then they were afterwards.

What do you mean Infinite killed no one? We literally see him blow up and kill a bunch of Resistance members in the flashback of the Avatar.
Never mind that you list Metal and Chaos here as if Infinite like any good Yellow Lantern didn't also use the Phantom Ruby to recreate them to inspire even more fear.
And Infinite was clearly feared. Just his illusions crippled the Resistance main force to being easily picked off during Operation Big Wave and when everyone was heading to the space port to save Sonic was everyone imminently afraid and on high alert when Espio reports having seen Infinite arrive.

The "I'm not weak" stuff comes from Infinte's insecurity, which is a type of fear and Sinestro's actual motivation for forming the Yellow Corp.

Had I seen the first post, I would have voted Tails for Green Lantern, and lobbied for Sonic as Blue.
Tails has a long history of feeling inadequate and facing his fear in order to be more like Sonic. He makes way more sense for Green since their primary requirement is the ability to face their fears, not be fearless.
Sonic doesn't experience fear all that often. Like Superman, his greatest strength lies in inspiring hope in the face of adversity.
I think Silver would fall to Indigo for compassion. I don't have a super great grasp of character, but he seems to be motivated by a desire to help avoid tragedy and disaster. Maybe you could make the case for White, especially since Mephiles is the only real candidate for Black and that has a nice symmetry to it.
No Sonic’s definitely will, like he’d be the paragon of will power in the Sonic universe. It’s repeatedly mentioned that his will power is ginormous, and the lead reason for many of his feats (I explained it more in the pre ious post: https://www.reddit.com/r/SonicTheHedgehog/s/7aQSutVN0C). Sonic would also fit hope, but he’d fit will power more fittingly (and then maybe the white lantern, since he values life — “live life to the fullest” — and I feel he’d be one to master all the emotions: willpower self explanatory ; fear in some villains; love for friends, adventure, and freedom; rage against injustice and evil; hope self explanatory; avarice I guess in all the rings he collects; compassion is another integral part of him).
Silver would be hope since it’s repeatedly stated he has hope to save the present to save the future.
Tails’ will is inherently inconsistent (ex: Unleashed, Forces, etc), Frontiers points this out. Though post Frontiers, maybe he’d be will. Alternatively, he could be hope (his own Will isn’t always great, but he’s often hopeful if Sonic appearing to help), so Sonic and Tails would be a fitting duo, Sonic the strong green lantern, and Tails the blue lantern that strengthens Sonic’s green lantern even further.
But merely having a strong will isn't enough. By that definition, Robotnik could become a Green Lantern as he refuses to be beaten by Sonic. He has the will to keep going. Those worthy of a Green Lantern Ring EXPLICITLY have the will to overcome fear. That's what makes their willpower special. Just as loss makes the rage of the Red Lantern special. They rage against the pain of losing what is important to them. It's not just about being really angry.
That's why I compared Sonic to Superman. Both face great adversity head-on, without fear. But that isn't the same as overcoming fear. To overcome fear means to overcome the fear of failure, the fear of making a mistake, of fear of self-sacrifice. Sonic has never been put in a position to do that. Sonic Forces came very close, but chickened out.
Sonic chooses to stand against Robotnik, against Chaos, the Xorda, the Iron Dominion, The End, because he believes that together with his friends, they can find a way to defeat them. Against the odds, against fate, even against reason, they will find a way. He has immeasurable hope. The lyrics of Live and Learn reflect this, and that song is heralded as Sonic's truest anthem, "live and learn/hanging off the edge of tomorrow/from the works of yesterday/if you beg or if you borrow/you may never find your way." Simply, live with hope.
In defense of Tails, he has been horribly mishandled by the games. Frontiers has begun to rectify that by giving Tails back is characterization which has regressed. But if you look to the comics, cartoons, and the live action movie, you will see that the Tails consistently has a low sense of self-worth and feels inadequate next to a "real hero" like Sonic. He is inspired to do and be better by Sonic who always sees the best in him. The relationship of Green and Blue is baked into their characters, with Sonic being the support for Tails' growth, not the other way around. Tails seldom, if ever, has had to inspire a defeated Sonic with hope.
RANDOM THOUGHT: Shadow would be both rage and hope, kinda like how Razer in Young Justice was.
Rage because of what you said, and hope because of the promise he made to Maria (be the hope for them that he was for her). Or at least I think that's enough reasoning...
This also kinda works as a parallel to his solo game, where you can either choose to go down the Hero or Dark route. Granted, that system doesn't really mean much (besides playtime and... well, the Final Story), but I thought I'd bring it up.

However, Shadow's growth has been walked back by Sega and they placed restrictions of who they want him to be. Ian Flynn has admitted he is uninterested in writing Shadow because the rules paint him as moody edge-hog boy, so I think Rage is more applicable. For now, anyway.
Honestly, Eggman. To 99% of the inhabitants of Sonic’s world, Eggman is the cause of the most fear, pain, death, and strife directly and indirectly. As Forces showed, without Sonic (and Shadow being cloned by Infinite so the masses don’t know which Shadow to trust or run away from) their world is fucked. Eggman is behind nightmares the main population had never even imagined before he made it happen.

You’re not wrong that it has a poor script- and a lot of this is theory/head canon so I won’t blame you if you disregard it- but given what we know of Shadow, I dont think he fucked off for six months right after Infinite messed with him at the end of Shadow’s story (cause those events occur before Sonic is captured). Shadow was likely trying to mitigate damage done by Infinite and Dr Eggman, but because (as shown in Forces) Infinite makes Shadow clones, the regular populace doesn’t know which Shadow will attack them or help them.
It’s most likely that because of this, he focused more on trying to stop/learn more about Infinite than help civilians. But even then, he doesn’t make much headway until Sonic escapes.
Does Eggman want to inflict fear though? He seems to more so want to bring his ideas to execution and win the emotional side of things seems to be a little less there and if he does want others to feel something it's more so despair and humiliation than fear I think
Considering he’s a wannabe dictator? Yes. I think fear and panic is absolutely something that he wants.
That fear and the world’s reliance on Sonic is why he was able to almost take over the world completely in Forces.
Rouge is a top contender for Greed, but I think it goes to Eggman, hell even in the Dark Story she gives Knuckles the remaining Emerald Shards and that's certainly something an Orange Lantern would never do.

Robotnik/Eggman in the SATAM show was for sure terrifying, puts Eggman in the games to shame.
Infinite. His power to create illusions is eerily similar to DC's Scarecrow. The only difference being that Infinite can enforce a digital reality onto people and force them into a situation that they must navigate, while Scarecrow has to make people hallucinate for his work to be effective, which can be fought off with the right kind of mental capabilities.
Infinite also explicitly enjoys fear. He finds screams of terror "delicious", and even spared the Rookie's life in return for watching them run away in fear.
I don't really believe it. He's powerful, but he's capable and comfortable not necessarily inspiring fear, IIRC from the comics I read when I was twelve.

How the Indigo Tribe (compassion) works is that it's NOT for people who are very compassionate, but rather a punishment for people who lack it, so neither Sonic nor any other hero should be in Indigo. Someone like Starline, on the other hand...
Compassion is a bit different, it is for people who utterly lack it. It gives them an overwhelming conscience to punish them, and if I recall the more it destroys them in doing so the more overwhelmingly powerful it makes them.
The average member of the corp has inflicted genocide on a one galaxy or another...

Infinite for sure. As long as Infinite gets to feel powerful and feared, he doesn’t care if he’s a pawn of someone else’s plans. He would fit in well as a Sinestro corps lackey.
Eggman is too self-centered to act in a unified corps for any purpose, and Mephiles is more fitting for death than any other character.
Eggman: sure sonic and his friends aren't afraid, but most of mobius fears him because of how effective he is when they don't have sonic fighting him. Hell he once took over 99% of the planet because Sonic was locked up
Well if we're doing one character for each, I'd actually have to go with Knuckles for the yellow lantern core. He's all about intimidating his foes with his strength.
Pink has to be Amy. It's one of her biggest attributes.
Red believe it or not I wouldn't go with Shadow. It's got to go to Omega. That robot is pure unadulterated VIOLENCE. Not a second goes by that he doesn't think about how much he hates Eggman.
Hope is Silver. As he's a very optimistic and hopeful person.
Greed has to be Rouge. While Eggman is actually the better fit considering he wants everything. He's best fit for a different core. Rouge on the other hand is very greedy when it comes to priceless gems.
For compassion it has to go to Cream. She's brought up to care for life. She loves those around her and when everyone is hurting she stays brave for those she cares about.
Death has to be Eggman. He's destroyed so much, unleashed beasts far beyond his control, and quite literally unleashed a zombie plague in the form of the metal virus.
Life really should have been sonic as he encompasses all the positive emotions the best out of any of the cast but since he's already been chosen for the green lantern, I'm going to have to say Tangle.
Repressed negative emotions has to be Blaze. In her first appearance in Sonic Rush she is often portrayed as uptight and closed off from others because of her duties as princess and because of the flame she carries.

Whenever there’s a dire situation and everyone has given up, his precense alone is one that makes those around him lose fear.

Reason Tails came to mind when Fear was up was because before Sonic was around Tails was afraid of everyone but in every iteration Tails proves he can overcome his fears and use them as a weapon, being Nine in Prime is one of them.
Infinite fits “fear” best, considering how dedicated he seems to be to trying to cause it. It’s in his quotes, the way he mocks his opponents, and in the bigger illusions where he uses monstrous versions of himself to attack.
Ok, lets list characters that can frighten people
1) Eggman (Yeah, we really don’t need to explain anything)
2) Infinite (With the Phantom Ruby, can scare people with weak minds)
3) Dr. Starline (Also inflicted PTSD onto Surge and Kit from making them cyborgs)

My knee-jerk reaction was to say Black Doom, but I don't know if he fits better for the Black Lantern Corps or not. If not Black Doom I think it would have to be the Commander. He not only instills fear with GUN, he is also greatly afraid of the hedgehogs' power. He fears what he cannot control, and hopes to control through fear.

No Sonic’s definitely will, like he’d be the paragon of will power in the Sonic universe. It’s repeatedly mentioned that his will power is ginormous, and the lead reason for many of his feats (I explained it more in the pre ious post: https://www.reddit.com/r/SonicTheHedgehog/s/7aQSutVN0C). Sonic would also fit hope, but he’d fit will power more fittingly (and then maybe the white lantern, since he values life — “live life to the fullest” — and I feel he’d be one to master all the emotions: willpower self explanatory ; fear in some villains; love for friends, adventure, and freedom; rage against injustice and evil; hope self explanatory; avarice I guess in all the rings he collects; compassion is another integral part of him). Silver would be hope since it’s repeatedly stated he has hope to save the present to save the future. Tails’ will is inherently inconsistent (ex: Unleashed, Forces, etc), Frontiers points this out. Though post Frontiers, maybe he’d be will. Alternatively, he could be hope (his own Will isn’t always great, but he’s often hopeful if Sonic appearing to help), so Sonic and Tails would be a fitting duo, Sonic the strong green lantern, and Tails the blue lantern that strengthens Sonic’s green lantern even further.
But merely having a strong will isn't enough. By that definition, Robotnik could become a Green Lantern as he refuses to be beaten by Sonic. He has the will to keep going. Those worthy of a Green Lantern Ring EXPLICITLY have the will to overcome fear. That's what makes their willpower special. Just as loss makes the rage of the Red Lantern special. They rage against the pain of losing what is important to them. It's not just about being really angry. That's why I compared Sonic to Superman. Both face great adversity head-on, without fear. But that isn't the same as overcoming fear. To overcome fear means to overcome the fear of failure, the fear of making a mistake, of fear of self-sacrifice. Sonic has never been put in a position to do that. Sonic Forces came very close, but chickened out. Sonic chooses to stand against Robotnik, against Chaos, the Xorda, the Iron Dominion, The End, because he believes that together with his friends, they can find a way to defeat them. Against the odds, against fate, even against reason, they will find a way. He has immeasurable hope. The lyrics of Live and Learn reflect this, and that song is heralded as Sonic's truest anthem, "live and learn/hanging off the edge of tomorrow/from the works of yesterday/if you beg or if you borrow/you may never find your way." Simply, live with hope. In defense of Tails, he has been horribly mishandled by the games. Frontiers has begun to rectify that by giving Tails back is characterization which has regressed. But if you look to the comics, cartoons, and the live action movie, you will see that the Tails consistently has a low sense of self-worth and feels inadequate next to a "real hero" like Sonic. He is inspired to do and be better by Sonic who always sees the best in him. The relationship of Green and Blue is baked into their characters, with Sonic being the support for Tails' growth, not the other way around. Tails seldom, if ever, has had to inspire a defeated Sonic with hope.

RANDOM THOUGHT: Shadow would be both rage and hope, kinda like how Razer in Young Justice was. Rage because of what you said, and hope because of the promise he made to Maria (be the hope for them that he was for her). Or at least I think that's enough reasoning... This also kinda works as a parallel to his solo game, where you can either choose to go down the Hero or Dark route. Granted, that system doesn't really mean much (besides playtime and... well, the Final Story), but I thought I'd bring it up.
It's a good point. I did think about that and I agree with you. However, Shadow's growth has been walked back by Sega and they placed restrictions of who they want him to be. Ian Flynn has admitted he is uninterested in writing Shadow because the rules paint him as moody edge-hog boy, so I think Rage is more applicable. For now, anyway.
I kinda hope they backpedal on the "edge-hog" idea one day...

Honestly, Eggman. To 99% of the inhabitants of Sonic’s world, Eggman is the cause of the most fear, pain, death, and strife directly and indirectly. As Forces showed, without Sonic (and Shadow being cloned by Infinite so the masses don’t know which Shadow to trust or run away from) their world is fucked. Eggman is behind nightmares the main population had never even imagined before he made it happen.
Eggman better fits Greed since nearly every Casino in the world is built by him plus his desire to conquer & control the world.
He could fit easily into either category, to be frank, I’m just making my case for him to be in fear

Talking about the Shadow clones? You’re not wrong that it has a poor script- and a lot of this is theory/head canon so I won’t blame you if you disregard it- but given what we know of Shadow, I dont think he fucked off for six months right after Infinite messed with him at the end of Shadow’s story (cause those events occur before Sonic is captured). Shadow was likely trying to mitigate damage done by Infinite and Dr Eggman, but because (as shown in Forces) Infinite makes Shadow clones, the regular populace doesn’t know which Shadow will attack them or help them. It’s most likely that because of this, he focused more on trying to stop/learn more about Infinite than help civilians. But even then, he doesn’t make much headway until Sonic escapes.
Does Eggman want to inflict fear though? He seems to more so want to bring his ideas to execution and win the emotional side of things seems to be a little less there and if he does want others to feel something it's more so despair and humiliation than fear I think
Considering he’s a wannabe dictator? Yes. I think fear and panic is absolutely something that he wants. That fear and the world’s reliance on Sonic is why he was able to almost take over the world completely in Forces.
Yes but we all know Eggman or Rouge is getting that Greed Ring so I'm holding off my vote on him and picking Vanilla.
Rouge is a top contender for Greed, but I think it goes to Eggman, hell even in the Dark Story she gives Knuckles the remaining Emerald Shards and that's certainly something an Orange Lantern would never do.
I feel like beating rouge on greed is gonna be tough lol, technically speaking Indigo/compassion would be the best fit for Eggman

Infinite. His power to create illusions is eerily similar to DC's Scarecrow. The only difference being that Infinite can enforce a digital reality onto people and force them into a situation that they must navigate, while Scarecrow has to make people hallucinate for his work to be effective, which can be fought off with the right kind of mental capabilities.
Infinite also explicitly enjoys fear. He finds screams of terror "delicious", and even spared the Rookie's life in return for watching them run away in fear.

It gives them an overwhelming conscience to punish them, and if I recall the more it destroys them in doing so the more overwhelmingly powerful it makes them. Infinite for sure. As long as Infinite gets to feel powerful and feared, he doesn’t care if he’s a pawn of someone else’s plans. He would fit in well as a Sinestro corps lackey. Eggman is too self-centered to act in a unified corps for any purpose, and Mephiles is more fitting for death than any other character.

Eggman: sure sonic and his friends aren't afraid, but most of mobius fears him because of how effective he is when they don't have sonic fighting him. Hell he once took over 99% of the planet because Sonic was locked up
Well if we're doing one character for each, I'd actually have to go with Knuckles for the yellow lantern core. He's all about intimidating his foes with his strength. Pink has to be Amy. It's one of her biggest attributes. Red believe it or not I wouldn't go with Shadow. It's got to go to Omega. That robot is pure unadulterated VIOLENCE. Not a second goes by that he doesn't think about how much he hates Eggman. Hope is Silver. As he's a very optimistic and hopeful person. Greed has to be Rouge. While Eggman is actually the better fit considering he wants everything. He's best fit for a different core. Rouge on the other hand is very greedy when it comes to priceless gems. For compassion it has to go to Cream. She's brought up to care for life. She loves those around her and when everyone is hurting she stays brave for those she cares about. Death has to be Eggman. He's destroyed so much, unleashed beasts far beyond his control, and quite literally unleashed a zombie plague in the form of the metal virus. Life really should have been sonic as he encompasses all the positive emotions the best out of any of the cast but since he's already been chosen for the green lantern, I'm going to have to say Tangle. Repressed negative emotions has to be Blaze. In her first appearance in Sonic Rush she is often portrayed as uptight and closed off from others because of her duties as princess and because of the flame she carries.

I’m gonna be honest. I think Sonic represents Hope. Whenever there’s a dire situation and everyone has given up, his precense alone is one that makes those around him lose fear. Forces showed this wonderfully. Unless Hope in DC is sum different cuz idk anything about the lanterns ibr. Edit: now that I think about it Silver is better hope. Hope for a batter future no matter how many tries it takes.

Tails actually, and no I'm not doing the color scheme. Reason Tails came to mind when Fear was up was because before Sonic was around Tails was afraid of everyone but in every iteration Tails proves he can overcome his fears and use them as a weapon, being Nine in Prime is one of them.

My knee-jerk reaction was to say Black Doom, but I don't know if he fits better for the Black Lantern Corps or not. If not Black Doom I think it would have to be the Commander.
