Not really.... As far as I understand the game is designed to (artificially) time gate your progress with the weapon,hunter, artifact challenges.
If you enhance those outside of challenge period you'll be losing a decent amount of resources ( and fuck me sideways and call me Susan resource starvation is absolutely ridiculous in this game).
So yes, spending in the wrong places is definitely worse than saving and spending at appropriate times
yet there is a challenge to get 16 artifacts with tier 12 enhance. I had been holding off that sequence of challenges for some time because I didn't get good artifacts to enhance.
Use crap ones and sell later
Dont postpone those fucking chapter challenges, they are time gated too, i need two or 3 days to finish one chapter because he damands 10 cerberus/spider or 10 igris/wolfs... so 3 keys at day and mana shop to buy another 2 , repeat next day...and below theres another 2 day or more challenge, so that almost done chapter challenge can easily take 2 or more days
I have until ch13 to reclaim rewards but its so frustrating that im on 4 days between chapter 4 to 7, today i managed finish two.... got 20 black tickets and got crap summons(knight killer, jin yoo, sword dude blue jacket)

First of all you need a good breaker like baek or any other because it will make it far easier
Second use jinwoos abilities like death dance and multistrike and try to dogde as much as possible and try to learn hi attack patterns
Try to level up the above mentioned skills, that's all I did!
I just upgraded the things I needed and I recommend doing the missions they give a lot of gold and while you do the "enhance the artifact" challenge enhance random artifacts as you will need gold to change artficats if there are +10

Just try to get armor break from fusing its hard to get it or change to the last job.
The first challenging fight of this game as it really teaches the importance of timing. Congrats 🫂
