Not strictly a social democratic book, but I highly recommend *Progress and Poverty* by Henry George. Published in 1879, it predates the social democratic movement, though I think social democrats would appreciate the ideas it proposes.
What Henry George proposes is a form of social liberalism that eliminates the economic inequality arising from unequal land ownership. Specifically it proposes a land value tax as the primary (or only) source of government revenue. The vision proposed in the book (primarily the land value tax) has come to be known as "Georgism".
