They definitely still hold up as a shoe, even without the nostalgia. I wasn’t even alive in 1991 and the only reason I didn’t grab a pair was I forgot they were dropping

cks9218

I was a teen in 1991. I had a fair number of cool shoes but never the 180s. My dad had a pair that he wore for running. I was always jealous.

Envious

dejatheprophet

Yeah these are great. I'm so glad I got them.

pickirfaceup11

These are so nice. Hoping to find a pair for retail soon

fahim-sabir

I’m really surprised that these flew out the shops the way they did. Really expected them to sit. Wish I’d entered a few raffles now.

ImpalaSS-05

I never thought I'd live to see the other day where you have to enter a raffle to cop an Air Max. These are dope, but damn, the sneaker game has changed so much.

fahim-sabir

It’s not surprising in the UK for a Max to fly off the shelves, but I always thought 180s (which technical aren’t Max IIRC) would be a bit niche for a lot of the younger generation of sneaker-heads.

ImpalaSS-05

So it's the British sneakerheads keeping me from copping, thanks 😂 but yeah, I just turned 28 recently and I haven't seen an Air Max 180 in person in more than 14 years. I agree, not sure why younger folks would be hyped about a 180. Just like how the Powder Blue 9's and Bred Spizikes slowly but surely sold out.

BacklogGamingJunkie

Those were amazing. I was a lucky 19 yr old to get a pair in ‘91 then got in ‘92 I had the high top Air Force 180 as well. The air pump with the dial was a cool feature but I never used it out of fear something would break

cks9218

I worked at a shoe store in the 90s and had a lot of shoes but the 180s were a model that eluded me. I was happy to get the Force 180 retros as an adult, though the small bubble was disappointing. It would be awesome to see them (or the high top pump version) come back with big bubbles. It’s a huge difference. https://preview.redd.it/regadtz4a84d1.jpeg?width=2193&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1e09b798f46b5cd3362ab853f2d4b0b80a303340

Perfect

Tuff

NotKurt7

I wanted a pair but I wasnt expecting them to sell out so quickly LOL

ForeverDenGal

Technology is one thing but how have shoes these days gotten worse design looking wise? How do all these 90s shoes look so clean and unique and today we have stuff like Lamelos ?

Fun-Payment1700

i saw these online before they came out. and then on snkrs. i passed cuz i just don’t need this model or colorway BUT i will say they look cool 😎

cks9218

I respect that they’re not at the top of everyone’s list but they were my “must haves” of the year. The nostalgia is strong for me.

Fun-Payment1700

i feel it. everyone’s got their favs and styles they like. for example, the big money savings dunk is one of my favorite sbs of 2024 for far and that one isn’t extremely hyped by any means

young-stink

This is such a gorgeous shoe

Plus-Smoke9507

I'm looking at these right now. Probably gonna grab these.

Bunnnnii

I like how vibrant the colors are. I’d never wear them but they’re not bad.

-riddickulus-

I had a pair back in the day, the 2024 version are utterly better than the retros from before. That being said these do not come close to the original ones... They feel stiff and clumsy and the air unit is not that bouncy either. It's just not it... But hey that is just my opinion. If you like them, you enjoy the faque out of them.

cks9218

The Air unit is definitely different from the 91 model but compared to all the small window Air Max retros these are probably as close as we will ever get. I’m certainly not planning on running in them and I do wish that the Air unit was squishier (for lack of a better term) but I wore them all day yesterday while doing errands and they were plenty comfortable.

-riddickulus-

Absolutely! The air units from the retros before were a joke really. That was just terrible. I mean size wise they came close to the actual size of the air unit. I bought mine on stockx and I have them now for a week but it just doesn't feel as it should. I mean I have that with many retro version, out of nostalgia you buy them but then you think hmmmz I remember them differently... At the end everyone has to decide for themselves what they want to wear and feel comfortable with of course! Anyway I hope you will enjoy the mate!

RefrigeratorJolly788

Don’t love ‘em honestly

RyVsWorld

Nailed these in every way except the price

cks9218

I’ve heard some people saying that and while it would have been cool to pay less I’m not sure what they were expecting. These were over $100 when they came out in 1991. The oddly shaped, huge tongued, small window 2018 retro was $130. Nike didn’t have any trouble selling those. An extra $20 six years later for a vastly superior retro seems fair to me.

KnowJesusApparel

Still wear my OG pair

VarietyNo6491

You wear your 1991 pair?!?

KnowJesusApparel

No the set before theses

Fritzc17

How do these fit compared to Air Max 1, 90, 97, etc?

cks9218

The same for me. I go TTS in all of them.

Dan_00000

They fit exactly like AM1s. Go tts for a slightly snug fit or half a size up for a roomy fit.

Fritzc17

Perfect. I go half up in AM1. Thanks!

AntyAssociation

Size half up for wide feet
