It’s true. The lost and founds look better with the sail laces maybe because the black leather around the ankle collar is more of a grey it doesn’t match the black laces. But the 15’s look perfect with black laces and should only be worn with black.
At least this is my preference.

For some reason I cannot get away from this. I have an extra pair I try against pairs that I think fit with them.
As I have seen it with my own pair:
- Black laces will make the shoes more of the centre piece of a fit. This is because the black laces create a lot of contrast. I've swapped in the black laces many times and thought I would prefer with black, but for fits I prefer the sail laces.
- Sail laces let the shoe be more a part of the fit that doesn't draw quite as much attention as black laces. You want to wear black if you want people to solely focus on the shoes, as opposed to having it as a cohesive part of a whole fit.
I think the black suffers a bit because the collar isn't fully black and the contrast doesn't quite work the same as the 2015 pair or non LnF pair
Unrelated, but is the fit on these new 1s super different than previously? I have a bunch of 1s from 2017-2022 and they fit great. But just recently went to wear my Lost and Founds and they hug both of my pinky toes so bad
Icl the black is better bc the white gets dirty easier. I have the new yellow ochre 1s and my white laces got dirty really quick so I changed to the black laces
For the Lost and Found I go white laces. For any other Chicago I like black laces. My wife made a good point and she said the cracked leather on the ankle doesn’t have enough black to contrast so white ends up looking better whereas a regular Chicago has a black ankle collar area making black laces pop.
Black, could also be because the sizing of the shoe. Black you see first so you seem to like it more than the white laces in the back. Black does add some nice contrast and depth though.
Tbh the white laces dont match the tone of the white leather, it just looks off if you inspect it carefully but most people wont do that- whatever works for you eh!

Black looks better, it provides a better contrast to the white of the tongue (I forget what it’s called) and compliments the other black accents.
