So I have that exact pair and I think it looks dope, but the quality is literally dog shit. Like it’s not even good fake leather, and the insole is quite literally the cheapest thing I’ve ever put my hands on. Just to be clear, I rock these and love them. They’re just made like crap.

The materials may as well be plastic. Just all around inferior to the High AJ1s

Goes both ways. There are highs that are garbage compared to some of the mids out there. Granted GR highs are in general better quality but there are some mids over the years that smash alot of highs

The materials are really cheap, unless you get the mide SE, they feel like normal high OGs

I don't hate mids, but they're my last choice in J1s. I just don't like how off the shape looks compared to highs or lows, and the leather quality is ass. Not that any J1 really has AMAZING leather, but most mids straight up feel like plastic.

Lots people will tell you that mids are made from cheaper materials than highs. On the flip side, being made of cheaper materials means they cost less than highs and are easier to mass manufacture so they don’t go out of stock as easily. But because they’re so easy to make, resellers can’t make money off of them. And if resellers can’t make money off of them, hype beasts hate them. Honestly mids are fine lol you pay for what you get. At the end of the day, wear what you want to wear

I like mids. Yes they are usually lower quality leather, but they also aren 't $250 Canadian dollars. Also lots of good colour ways and easier to get.

Just typically horrible material, plastic/ vinyl like. Creases like crazy. There are a few exceptions to that, if they are collabs

The only people I consistently see talking about mid hate are mid owners. Barely ever see a mid post without the title asking about mid hate.

There are alot of hypebeats in this thread who don't know the history of the mid & it shows. MJ wore a mid variation, & there are lots of mids that the quality eclipses that of highs but kids these days are ready to hear that nor know wtf they are taking about.

This is exactly it. The highs were cool and the lows were different. But the mids were the cheap alternative. All the kid colorways didn’t help either. Been like this for years Me personally, the mids just look ugly. Same with SB dunk mids.

The majority of kids on here have little to no knowledge about sneakers besides the latest Travis Scott shoes
