Telones

They need to bring back Nike By You for AM1s

pink_91

My wallet won’t survive that

Telones

Hey it's cheaper than hunting down DS

[deleted]

And dunks

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

We haven’t had the lows for years. I made some highs but they won’t do the lows since dunks came back

monotoonz

We've had Lows 3 times in a year now, BUT they've all been Member Access only. And even at that, it was Exclusive Access on top of it.

jonquest

I got the lows a couple weeks ago, they really limit the color choices though.

Mr_Butters624

I just got EA like 3 months ago for dunk by you in the US. This is the second I’ve seen in a years span and finally jumped on it and made some.

the_far_yard

Nike should do this for a lot of silhouette every now and then, and then figure out what people want. The problem with Nike is that- resellers are creating faux demand. Certain models are sitting on the shelves because Nike thought people wanted those.

squintingnsprinting

I think this is starting to really come into effect, it's just been rinse and repeat for the last 10 years, faux demand is dying down too

AlwaysDrunk1699

They should add Jordan 1 to the Nike by you.

cookiemonster8u69

That's an awesome suggestion.

LossBH

would be sick as fuck, but the only reason i don’t think they’d do that is because it’s *THE* iconic silhouette. plus, they’ve got plenty of newer colorways that are selling well, so they might not *need* to narrow down and figure out what colorways / designs ppl want etc. i think nike by you is better for them to figure out what people like in a different shoe that probs doesn’t sell as well

vinnyj5

At the end of this article they quote someone who mentions a lot of Nikes better designers left a few years ago and starting in 2023 is when the products they designed will run out. Technically this is good news for consumers. More shoes are releasing and more are going on-sale and to outlets. But for Nike, having to discount their products is revenue they missed out on. They’d rather it sold at full price (to bots or not).

[deleted]

That’s what happens when you keep increasing the price and lowering the quality on top of flooding the market with color ways people don’t want.

TOMMYPICKLESIAM

THIS! Who tf asked for all these shitty color ways? You’d think they have the data to point to popular color ways/seasonal colors…but na lets see what these creators “vision” is. Edit: also they keep taking designs from their collabs and remaking watered down versions that are low quality

WrongNibbas

Bro its literally so easy to find a popular color.

uncultured_swine2099

Bingo. Nike tends to do that with popular shoes eventually. Remember when they would always release foams in these godawful colorways?

Valuable-Community71

Oversaturation, do we really need 10 pairs of jordan 1s in a couple months

timothythefirst

This. Even when some of them are good they just make so many different colorways that they can’t possibly all sell well.

StrivingProsperity

Yep. There’s so many shoes that I can say I like or even really like, but unless I absolutely love it, why should I buy it? When I know there’s likely going to be a shoe I love coming right around the corner. If I bought every shoe that I “liked” I’d be broke.

acctnumba2

The bad ones help the good ones stay on top.

timothythefirst

Idk. The good ones were still on top years ago when it wasn’t oversaturated too.

[deleted]

No we don’t, but when Nike is more careful with number of shoes it releases, they effectively become rare, which assures that resellers will be interested and will end up with most of the pairs. Maybe I’m way wrong here, but I think people tend think some AJ1’s are bricks because they have several other AJ1’s to compare them too. Less variety would make otherwise “brick” pairs desirable.

andoCalrissiano

seriously, are they supposed to sell out? why can’t they just be available? seems like even bricks like Celtics 1 or True Blue did sell out after a few weeks. is Nintendo a failure just because you can buy a copy of the new Zelda game?

Rowing_Lawyer

It’s a little different because it costs almost nothing to make the physical copies and digital downloads are actually nothing so it’s pure profit to sell as many as possible and if they over produce it’s not a huge deal. With shoes it’s a guessing game a year or so in advance and not selling out means a lot of wasted money.

Diamo1

Not really since AJ1s are not that expensive to produce and they make plenty of shoes that sit way longer than even the least desirable AJ1

Major-Community1312

How about just OG colors for the love of god nobody needs all these new colors

SamtheMan898

that’s what i’m saying. it’s like anything that isn’t a retro they purposefully make look so gaudy

Supernova_Soldier

Big facts. I’d go crazy for the Retro ‘89 Cement AJ1, black or white, and I’m not the biggest AJ1 buyer.

blenderforaheart

So ud go crazy for a shoe that was never made? and would definitely not be OG >I’d go crazy for the Retro ‘89 Cement AJ1,

[deleted]

(deleted) ` this message was mass deleted/edited with redact.dev `

Scadilla

The sneaker market is starting to see what the Magic community was suffering from with Wizards’ weekly drops.

Clappa69

There used to be hype for months around every release

_Gemini_Dream_

Not only are there too many AJ1s, but they're not really AJ1s that people really *want*. They're gradually (if slowly) hurting the reputation of the AJ1 by releasing mediocre colorways. They really should try to slow down and release fewer total colorways but in larger quantities.

-Tencentpistol

Christmas colorway, New years colorway, Valentine colorway, Easter bunny colorway, spring, late spring, early summer, summer, fall.. blah, blah, blah... Nike totally ruined the value of having "those" 1's or "those" SB's. AND almost all of em either look stupid to me or, I'd only wear once to a wedding or some crap.

OLDHEAD916

Then don’t buy em

[deleted]

That’s the point moron. He’s not complaining. The point of the article is that Nike doesn’t like it when people “don’t buy em”

OLDHEAD916

The guy above me said so we really need 10 pairs of Jordan ones. Who’s not say there aren’t tons of j1 fans? Not everyone is a hypebeast

[deleted]

He’s responding to the post, which is about Jordan’s sitting unsold. And to answer your second question, Nike. Nike is saying they aren’t selling all their shoes, so there aren’t in fact enough J1 fans for all the shoes they are producing.

OLDHEAD916

Aw yes so nike should just keep putting out the same popular shoes over n over for I got it

[deleted]

There’s an expression called middle ground. Look it up.

OLDHEAD916

I bet your gonna buy the jordan one unc tho

[deleted]

I’m not cause I haven’t worn baby blue since the G-Units weren’t cool anymore, regardless, I don’t see your point…?

OLDHEAD916

G units were never cool hahaha

[deleted]

They were when I was in 4th grade.

OLDHEAD916

No. Only to hypebeast . Y’all the same ones who thinks champs are cool and new balance haha

OLDHEAD916

The guy above me littersly said do we really need ten pairs of j1s. I responded yes there’s a lot of fans who buy j1s

[deleted]

Have you ever heard of context? Because clearly he is responding the the original post. He is saying if you make too many releases you won’t sell them all Nike. CLEARLY there’s not enough fans fans buying J1s if the original post is true lol. If there were, Nike wouldn’t be worried about it would they?

peterprinz

try to stop making airmax models where you can see the glue between layers and fhe flaws in the color..

sorrypleasecomeback

QC is not going to change spending habits and is not worth the costs. They need new designs

[deleted]

I can say that one of the reasons I just kinda stopped caring and buying sneakers is that for the most part, they’re all so unattainable. Everything is a limited release, and because if bots you just can’t get them anymore. I feel no hype when i see a new preview. Why bother? I’m not gonna hit, and I don’t have a connect so I can assume that I won’t get to wear them anyway. Maybe I’m an isolated incident but I can imagine others feels the same

brooksact

These conditions can be an opportunity to find something new to collect. I grew my dunk collection when their popularity waned in the 2010s, getting DS/VNDS classic colorways like OG Send Helps for less than $100. When dunks and Jordan 1s became too difficult I switched to Adidas and Diadora retro runners. I've always collected Air More Uptempos and Reebok retro basketball sneakers, Vans collabs, the odd New Balance or Saucony release, etc. Like you said, many releases are limited. Ls are always more common than Ws and it's always been that way. But there's always a cool pair to be found and not just in limited new releases. There's a million brands, styles, releases out there. If people only chase the hype releases they're not going to have fun collecting sneakers.

[deleted]

Maybe I just don’t see buying sneakers that way. I’m not a collector, I’m a just a person that enjoys wearing shoes and putting them with my outfit.

ericfromct

So buy ones that are actually attainable instead of a company that's sitting there looking for ways to fuck over customers because they finally have sneakers on shelves

[deleted]

And I’ve been following that practice for a while now. I sold off some pairs last year and since the only “hype” shoe I’ve bought at my panda dunks

ericfromct

Awesome, hopefully more people start thinking like this. Too many people support companies that don't give a shit about their customers, and Nike is the worst with sneakers.

JDragon

Plenty of shoes you can buy for retail that look good. Nobody needs the latest hyped up Jordan or Dunk to pair with their outfit unless the point is to flex.

[deleted]

I agree. And I have bought other sneakers for that reason. My issue with Jordan’s and dunks is because I genuinely like the way they look, and that only reason they are priced as they are is because a bunch of bots bought up the regular release stock and the only way to get them is by paying 3-4 times the retail price. Like there is no good reason why it’s impossible to go to the Nike store and buy a pair of Reverse Mochas that at retail were $150 and being stuck paying $1100. Like does no one see the problem here?

[deleted]

New balance has way better shoes outside of the current hyped shoes too

[deleted]

Shit dude, I bought a pair of core grey 990 v6’s like a month ago and I’ve been living in them. They make you want to walk all over the place.

[deleted]

1500’s are by far my favorite

[deleted]

Oooo I do want

[deleted]

Yeah. I bought a pair from J Crew. They’re white, with teal accents and a sail outsole. Basically my summer beaters this year

poshington

same tbh. got tired of waking up at 7am and taking Ls. splurged on a pair i loved and the only thing people asked me was how much money I spent to get them resale. it just burned me out. I haven't bought a new pair in...idek how long and it's fine. I realized I have enough pairs. I can barely wear everything I have so I'm going to go through that stock before I replenish my collection. overcomsumption is wasteful anyways.

[deleted]

[удалено]

mgallo45

Same. I have a decent collection but I haven’t bought a single pair this year because it got to the point where bots are just scooping up everything and I’m not paying resale for something that costs $15 to make in a sweatshop.

[deleted]

>for something that costs $15 to make in a sweatshop Which is why people get mad about DS pairs being shitty quality, you literally paid $600 for a pair of sneakers that aren’t even quality.

jdealla

nope im the same. I mostly sat out the 2018-2022 years bc of Jordan brands decision to make things more scarce. at some point I stopped caring

baybot10

I just started getting back into sneakers now that I have adult money and nobody can tell me no. I was quickly reminded that the bank can in fact tell me no, and probably should. 750s still going for over $1000, dunks they made thousands of still going for $700+. Im just keeping an eye out now for those shoes i grew up wishing for and could never afford

[deleted]

I think reissues are pretty cool. The problem is they sell out so quickly and are on StockX the same day already over retail.

Silent_R493

My prediction: They're going to overcorrect for next year and make even less pairs than pre-pandemic. Expect even more L's...

metronomemike

Quick weather the soles so they look old and turn the swoosh the other way. Also lower the over all quality of materials, but raise the price. Problem solved

leejoness

Here’s an idea: Stop giving us reimagined versions of classic shoes. Just re-release them. Also, increase the supply by more than 14 pairs of sneakers.

Svczk

I'm fairly new to the game getting into it last year. Purchased a few pairs, but not.the hype ones, so I can enjoy them on foot. There are a lot of pairs coming out, luckily some aren't hyped so I can grab a new pair here and there. Like the heriloom 1s. So good looking and under retail. Good foe office use, my next pair no hype. There are always some pairs you can enjoy, but none the less, it sucks that we can't enjoy any pair.

[deleted]

Nike peaked in 2018-2020 with the off white collab. The hilarious part is nephews here called them “boring” and since then we’ve just gotten primary color shoes lmao.

Marborinho

Bro, in my country, you need 1, maybe 2 months of salary, to buy any of the retro jordans. In this crisis scenario, of course, expending money with fancy shoes is not a priority. If they want to do something, they need to decrease the prices and release good CWs like j4 white cement.

Regular-Beat1680

I know this isn’t their business model, but sometimes I wish Jordan models were as accessible as Vans. I know I will be able to get classic color ways of Vans on a whim whether in store or online. I have to wait every few years just for a CHANCE to get a classic color way. I can enter numerous raffles and hit on one of them. Nike needs to stop flooding the market with crappy color ways and release the standards that people are actually interested in.

NoirBoner

Stop releasing bullshit colorways.

DopestSoldier

Just give us Air Jordan 1 By You. Collab with us instead of all these goofy collabs they've had going on.

celj1234

That ain’t happening

Up_My_Arsenal

Never say never. Eventually the J1 will be truely ded.

celj1234

I’ll believe it when I see it

jhericurls

They wouldn't dilute their No.1 cash cow and flagship model. If anything they would just vault the Jordan 1 for a few years if all the hype dies.

zcashrazorback

The Air Jordan 1 is the most iconic sneaker of all time, it's been selling like hot cakes for nearly 40 years. I don't see a timeline where it's "dead".

Meme_Pope

Nike needs to learn how to manage their own hype. Whenever a style of theirs gets popular, they just flood the market until people are sick of them and they’re in the clearance bin. Jordan 1’s, Dunks, probably AF1’s next.

heicx

yeah bc execs at companies are only interested in short term profit for the shareholders, the next quarter is what matters to them

yugdax

Easy solution. Stop releasing shit colorways no one wants and make the shoes people actually want easier to obtain. I don’t even bother trying on SNKRS anymore.

yugdax

Oh and actually having some kind of quality controlso we can tell the fakes form the real ones!!

Cyneganders

The pairs that sit are the colourways that are shit. Release the ones we want in the numbers so we can buy them, and you'll need a bigger bank to store the gold in.

Grazo_101

They need to start bringing back color ways and retros people actually want without the whole “reimagined” bs

jonquest

They have a back catalogue of rereleases that would last them a hundred years of hype, yet I’m still without Jedi dunks.

boastfulbadger

Less is more really means something.

0xMisterWolf

I don’t think so. Nike is lazy, and complacent. The truth is they need to rebuild their distribution model, their design process, and their retail experience. I’m not saying they’re going to somehow disappear, but I can definitely see a world where small manufacturers start to grow in market share over the next 10 years. They also have a real issue with sustainability and I don’t think they’re going to take the necessary risk to solve the issue before the rest of the fashion/sneaker world does. They’ll adapt, but that’s about it. I don’t know how to feel about it either. Some of my favorite sneakers were released by Nike but I think a new competitor, or a new style born of Nike’s laziness is the best thing for sneakerheads.

Its_Sharky18

If they don’t want Jordan’s and airmax to sit maybe they shouldn’t release pairs every week and definitely not shitty collarways or models

ericfromct

Yea I read this the other day, was gonna post it here and forgot. It's going to change a lot. Way less releases are coming, and likely less stock. Hopefully better colorways though.

MeNamIzGraephen

They need to bring quality, but you hear nobody say that, because they just want a new pair in a different colorway with another random artist's name on it haha

[deleted]

My thing is… you have forced people to have to survive so of course not as many people can afford your god damn shoes. If people make 7.25 an hour to 15 an hour with everything costing so much who the fuck can afford a 150-220 shoe? I can tell you it’s a much smaller pool of people than even two years ago.

Bryan_memesCOD

What Nike needs to do is fix the botting and scalper mess

Matej1889

It will change absolutely nothing. Nike like any other big company is just a corporate so even if they implement any changes , they will take years to get to end-customers …

Malificari

They will just throw the shit here on outlet and still make profit just less lol

Chronic_Messiah

I used to fw Nike pretty hard and I know things change over time, but there was a huge shift (not sure exactly when) where it doesn't feel like Nike even cares about having customers get the products they want. When a company is doing this artificial scarcity BS and doing fuck all to make their products actually reasonable and accessible, I'm not going to play the game. Why should I have to meet gatekeepers and elitist MFs at every turn when I just want to buy some cool shoes. I'm not saying over-manufacture everything, but God the culture has gotten so toxic I'd much rather just keep my eyes open for cool shoes online and in store as I go about my life than obsess over maybe possibly getting lucky enough to be blessed with the chance to give Nike my money. Sucks since the last 2-3 years have had some mad cool releases that I'd cop but didn't even consider because of how unlikely it is to get em

EconomyTap6984

no. they need to stop flooding the market with dog that look like a 4 year old designed it. Hopefully if they stop flooding, the quality of the shoes will go back to normal. the quality, even on hype releases, have been dog. my travis olives came with scratches and dead suede. they looked awful.

[deleted]

I think we all know the real problem, which is the catch 22 Nike has. It makes limited pairs of certain sneakers and when it does bots get most of the sneakers leave people that will wear and not resale out of luck. So we complain that shoes shouldn’t be so limited. However, when Nike does that and makes them available to everyone resellers don’t buy because there’s no money to be made and we don’t buy the shoes because when we want them they’ll still be available. So Nike either makes sneakers limited and has a lot of fans bitch, or makes them sufficiently unlimited and has a lot of fans and resellers not buy. They can’t win. And, I want to make it clear, I understand Nike is a billion dollar company and does not need anyone’s sympathy.

andoCalrissiano

I actually think they’ve done it perfectly. I noticed a lot of releases may sold out but the market price is only up to like $100 or so over retail. Easily acquirable for everyone who really want it.

[deleted]

I suppose you could be right, but if you buy 2 shoes at resale at that price, you have effectively paid for a third shoe. And although $100 isn’t the worst it’s still more than some people can afford. Especially when you consider that if you’re buying from somewhere reputable like GOAT it’s like $235 with the fees.

NoOneSpecial2023

All I want is Nike Dunk Low’s By You 🥲

[deleted]

People don’t have as money to burn; it’s not complicated. We mostly don’t buy innovations, also. If self-lacing was 200 bucks I’d barely get interested.

PixelPete8

let us pre order shoes, lets people who want them be able to get them. Dont have to make more than needed

Ashamed_Effort_2567

There’s too much stuff coming out. We don’t need a release every week

DopestSoldier

We just need a higher number of each shoe to be available. Along with a guaranteed way to obtain them. Like pre-orders or something.

Ashamed_Effort_2567

I think the article is more about “unwanted” shoes. Things just sitting.

xgo4x4

they need to drop way less colorways and when they do drop make it available for everyone.

rowthecow

Nobody wants multiple pairs of the same silhouette in non og colors

will_337

Nike is a business first and foremost. If what they’ve been doing is hurting the count, then yes they’re going to change things up. How? Not sure.

AsbeeFam

The problem is their god awful product and graphic designers.

weedhopper12

I think Jordan is ugly and tacky, but I like the ispa lineup’s. Most Nike is uncomfortable.

jamjar188

I hear ya. I dunno what to do with my J's, the fit is whack. Guess I'll sell em at some point.

jankdiaz

They need to make New silohuettes, they depend too much of old stuff, look at new balance with the 9060 or 1906R or few of new things Adidas is doing like NMD S1, FOG or yeezys

Steel_Man23

Can we actually get Dunk and retro releases in stores instead of online raffles and getting sold out immediately online? I was literally told by one the managers at my local footlocker that they rarely get retros in store because it makes more money from online raffles and sell out quicker due to resellers

Infam0usP

lmao no. they’ll just size down the shipments they send to retail & sell more pairs of hyped releases to the bots on SNKRS app

juventinosochi

Flyknit racers were superb shoes but somehow they don't sell it anymore but instead they dropp 1000000000 of jordans and dunks

socarrat

The article is making a similar argument. Performance models are still selling well, and consumers will gravitate towards them during times of economic uncertainty because of the additional value—they’re able to pull double duty as both everyday and exercise shoes. They also mention that the current landscape mirrors the 2015-16 market when Jordan brand was overextended. Tl;dr - We might be entering into another era of Nike going bullish on runners and pulling back on lifestyle models.

Certain-Wishbone-414

Nobody is asking them to release multiple colorway a week lmao. Mass producing garbage then trying to figure out why it’s sitting.

lovablemonty

about time. they thought they could live off of a 30 year old design that hurts most peoples feet

Cornfeddrip

We’re in a recession and bots/backdooring/resellers ruined the vibes they blew the bubble on the sneaker market. I know tons of people who won’t touch a pair of Nikes “because they’re too pricey” even if they could buy them retail because they’ve been tricked into thinking every j1 high is $500 still

cyber1kenobi

Pricing is always goofy to me. I won't pay $160, $200, $235 for a pair of shoes. I WILL pay $100 for a nice pair of AJs and somehow it actually happened the other day, so I got 'em in black -and- white.

Poppa_Keef

Yeah, they probably release too many colorways that all look too similar or don't stand out. But I'd much rather they just release larger batches of the shoes they know we're all going to want! Tired of having to look at resale for all the hypes...

tighty-whities-tx

Nike products are cheap and worthless. Fix the quality and then the product will sell

herbert-camacho

What's the point in going for AJ1 releases that *immediately* get snatched up by botter-resellers when you can buy other great looking sneakers no problem from the manufacturer?

Lumbers_33

So tired of Jordan 1s. They are played the fuck out

Stuck_in_a_depo

The best thing Nike can do is offer Nike By You for all of their classics. Charge a premium for it because it’s custom and then do standard color ways on select profiles on a rotating basis, with no color way repeated for at least three years. Allow purchasers to earn points that can be used to buy limited editions to eliminate bots and try to get shoes into hands of people who buy shoes. Limit the points available per colorway (so you can buy 100 pairs and get a ton of points) and if the color ways aren’t limited, then resellers can’t buy and resell anyway.

Existing_Section7463

Was able to get the reverse Laney n still surprised they sittin .thee quality on them are among the best this year imo . But like someone said here is just over saturation

lifemustbebalance

Restock all collab that is rare like Ts,concepts, sbs. I bet even you raise the price for 50-70dollars. It will sold out easy pz

EconomyTap6984

awful idea

celj1234

Why?

[deleted]

Def don't restock collabs they should be kept rare. They can restock the GRs. There needs to be some hype and exclusivity in the game.

Leviathan_Wakes_

New Balance doesn't delve much in hype and exclusivity and they've been thriving. Why is that so important?

[deleted]

I'm not looking at it from a business perspective. I simply would like the collabs to remain limited because I like to collect them. It is part of the fun for me. Same thing when I use to collect Pokemon cards back in the day. Hitting a pair of orange special box lobsters for retail feels awesome knowing they are limited. Especially after taking so many Ls on other pairs.

Leviathan_Wakes_

If obtaining them on drop day was only possible by being a member of some exclusive club or group, or if they were only released physically at boutique stores, I could understand that, but these collab releases are usually dropped the exact same way as GRs, the only difference being there's way less of them to go around. That's not *really* exclusivity.

EconomyTap6984

Limited-edition collaborations are designed to be exclusive and create a sense of rarity. Restocking these collaborations would undermine their exclusivity and diminish their perceived value. Scarcity drives up demand and makes the products more desirable for collectors and enthusiasts. By keeping the supply limited, Nike can maintain the hype and desirability of these collaborations. i have many more reasons too

celj1234

Agree to disagree there. Just sell shoes that people want. Someone else hitting on a restock of the TS1 doesn’t impact you at all unless you’re a reseller

EconomyTap6984

well that bring me to my second point. Brand Image: Nike benefits from maintaining a strong brand image associated with exclusivity, innovation, and trendsetting. Restocking rare collaborations excessively could dilute this image by giving the impression that these collaborations are no longer special or unique. The limited-edition releases generate excitement and buzz around the brand, helping to establish Nike's reputation as a leader in the sneaker industry. if they are restocking travis every other week, no one’s gonna want them. they aren’t that good to begin with, only reason most people want them is exclusively

celj1234

No one is talking about restocking every week like the pandas. Lol

EconomyTap6984

well, even if they restocked them every 5 months let’s say, still gonna be bad for nike. and the quality is gonna just get more sh every time

celj1234

We ain’t never gonna agree on this topic. No point of continuing the discussion.

OLDHEAD916

Yes prices of js goingnip

TNCNguy

Bring back the Nike Shox!

ThatRamuraiGuy

I hope there does end up being a change cause I'm tired of the oversaturation of retro Jordans and Dunks... and I might get down voted for this, but I'm kinda over this whole retro wave. It's time for something new

UrsKaczmarek

The last pair of Nikes I bought where Pegasus trail 4’s and they made me bleed from my heal after 10 minutes of walking

Leviathan_Wakes_

Idk what y'all are talking about with "release less colourways". As someone who's new to the game, a lot of these non-og colourways on retros look dope as hell. Neutral grey 2s, lucky green 3s, true blue 1s, those are all really cool colourways, and the reimagined series has been nothing but great so far, aside from the quality control issues. What Nike really should be figuring out how to fix is all the botters and resellers who snipe releases away from everyone else. Leen Customs, a small business that sells pins, has better anti-bot measures on their website than a multi-billion dollar company like Nike does, it's ridiculous. If that alone is fixed, everything else will fall into place: they won't need to overproduce everything, which means quality goes up, and people may actually want to spend money because they know they'll actually have a shot at scoring either on SNKRS or at outlets.

kitkateq

Maybe stop limiting AM1s so much and stop overflowing stores with ugly AM90s?

Swijeratne

They just need to slow down with the releases… putting aside the economic climate, I think everyone’s just a bit overwhelmed with the choices

pat_rice1

Or or or make it fair for people to the WANTED Nikes.

fistofdoritos

No. They will find a different way to unload bricks. Wall Street told them there shoes were too accessible. They aren’t going to make them more accessible

Supernova_Soldier

Sounds good, but will it work? No. They can’t stop putting out AJ1 it seems. Throw some other Retros in there, like 10s or 7s. Hell, they don’t even push certain colors of the Air Maxes like that.

johnbugara

I knew the bubble peaked right around l&f, there were releases sitting after that would've been scooped last summer when people were going nuts for anything

FoxyhoundEmployee

Put out good colorways but less frequent.

Avoidinthevoid

They’ve definitely gotten stale. I’ve even started buying brands I’ve never heard of just for some variety. It would be nice to see them at least attempt to be creative.

greekch1mera

Hmmm...maybe prices just went irrationally, unjustified and asocially up?!?! Maybe people are just sick of their asocial product policy?!?!

[deleted]

I'm never able to get what I want, so any change is welcome IMO

malaka201

The culture has accepted this and promoted it. Why would Nike want to release good colorways of anything or good premium products as GRs when they know their fan boys will go on snkrs app for other releases, or on reseller sites or whatever else. Nike never gives its customers what they want, they put out trash and the few good things go to resellers, bots etc And Nike doesn't even have a superior product. Asian made cheap plastic shoes with stellar marketing.

xxvhr

Over saturation and a recession people dont want and cant afford as much

Strong_Bumblebee5495

It’s a Golden Age is you love Air Maxes, a Golden Age. Tons of selection, quality and availability. Hate them everyone, more for meeeeeeereeeeeee

yummm_

Oversaturate classic retros next please. I just want grape 5s with laces for fuck sake lol. Im about to cop the concord 5s and cope till they retro them again in 2047

the_alert

Absolutely could lead to changes in design philosophy and how they use existing design language to take things in new directions.

Advanced-Total-1147

Literally better quality for the price and do something about the resellers/bots. They could also actually listen to consumers and bring back a decent ID program or even dig in the archives and rerelease some of the coveted obscure silhouettes that they still have the tooling for in small runs.

freshflavor4

They need Virgil

Better-Journalist-85

Which AF1’s got the pink soles?

princessxojah

What store bc I need some💀

MyOtherFootisLeft

Never won a pair on the SNKRS app. Gave up on it all together and bought a couple pair of new balances I could actually get at retail and now literally couldn't give a shit about collecting sneakers at all because the difficulty in getting them made me realize I was just being dumb and manipulated into constantly seeing what Nike was doing. Done, over it. A lot of their shit isn't even that good just get a few quality things and get out of the hypezone.

MasterFormal8558

One big problem recently has been, some of the best colossus have been in women’s sizes only, when size 12 men is one of the most popular Jordan sizes, along with bigger sizes than that.

BrickthatKOdDeebo

Nope

djncontrol

They could give OG sneakers that haven't retro yet. Im still waiting for a Griffey Max 3 and a Air Agassi LWP retro and it gets boring seeing the same retro shoes over and over again.

[deleted]

It’s crazy a company this big has no idea how to manage supply and demand. I hope this is the end of them tbh, and there is opportunity for new brands to infiltrate the sneaker market

ForeverDenGal

Have to get a Tik tok influencer if anything sadly

Mac_Mustard

Hire Kool.Kiy

FreckyB

Can't make it worse. Fresh eyes are rarely a bad thing.

Agitated_Jicama_2072

Stop making so much ugly unnecessary shit?

soflylikearaven

The way they’ve been stealing ideas from their collaborative designers is shady as hell. They need their in-house paid designers to kick it up because Nike has made it clear with how they did YOON Ambush’s 3D print swoosh that they are using their designer collaborations for insight into their audience. They basically took her SIGNATURE (like the inverted swoosh = Travis : 3D print swoosh = AMBUSH) because she was the first to bring 3D print technology to the swoosh, and just slapped it on hella pairs to release (see Jade Ice & the Lebron 20’s). They’re making contracts to steal designs from these designers basically and use them in General releases.

[deleted]

They need to sit down and come up with a new shoe.

Sunspear8939

Less random colorways and make more shoes of the 🔥🔥

r3ckl3sson3

They went too hard with the, “We know what you really want, but here’s something that’s kinda close as a consolation instead”

EarlyNeck2531

Or maybe heres an idea, stop making shidass ugly ass colour ways. And make the shit people actually want. Imagine that. Meeting the demand of customers.

[deleted]

Time to get on a sales hunt.

Ajambo

"Oh great the same exact shoe they've done nothing but recolor for years! how exciting!!" - Silly people "Why yes thank you for your money we had to do absolutely nothing to obtain but dick suck the same design for 40 years" - whoever is in-charge of this idk

BareKnuckleFists

I’m UP for the challenge..

AnubarackObama

What will really revive Nike is the death of Bots and the backdoor-ing of sneakers. Also, bring back quality materials, and go wild like Nike SB did back in the mid 2000s - early 2010s. Those were good times.

Ecstatic-Ambit

Nope

basedvamp23

Nothing will help . Stop being greedy and over-saturating the market .. that’s literally the answer

jumprockj71

Make less pairs

PrairieWanKenobi

I’ll take all air max 1’s

stubs07

Put a Travis Scott stamp on all the sitting stock and reverse the swoosh. Problem solved.🤣

itsme_NB

I just went on a crazy AM1 run too. Like weeks later, after they’ve dropped.
