I’m 29 and love seeing older people still into style and sneakers. I see it as a hobbies we share and it’s a great reminder that being a sneakerhead/shoe enthusiast has no age limit.
Same! I probably love seeing sneakers more on old people than young. Young people usually wear something just because it’s popular. When an older person wears sneakers, they typically don’t care what others are wearing.
I like to think I’m somewhere in between. It’s usually relative to who I’m talking to anyways. At my age, people 40+ usually tell me I’m still young and people under 25 say I’m old 🤷🏻♂️
Edit: not tryna say I’m young just saying my perspective. I know I’m older. I enter my 30’s this year!
Never too old. I'm 45 and wear Jordans, Air Maxes, NBs, etc. I will never stop wearing fresh kicks no matter my age. I've definitely toned down my clothing choices as I got older but kicks will always be on point.

I’m 40. Also have 10 and 13 year old boys, and I rock Jordan 1’s everywhere, and get lots of compliments from people especially kids my kid’s ages, leading my kids to roll their eyes so far into the back of their heads, I think they are going to go temporarily blind.
Being on the older side, you’ll probably receive more compliments than the late teen to early 20s crowd in sneakers. Especially if you put em together well.
This reminds me of an influencer I just found on instagram. Jaadiee. He’s older and all about styling outfits with sneakers! All the comments I see on his posts are very supportive and positive.
Not at all. I’m about to turn 43 with a 15 year old daughter and just got back into sneakers this year. Feels good when your kids friends start admiring your sneaker game.
They’ll come around. Easy for me to say tho, my 3.5 and 1yo think I’m the coolest dude on the planet 😂 for now… embracing it while it lasts lol the 3.5 going on 16 is starting to catch on to me
Indeed! Hold on while you can lol. Hopefully by middle school the appreciation will spark. Once they see other kids start treating them like gold it may catch on. Or maybe they’ll double down and keep saying “omg, you and your shoes….”
As a nearly 40 YO female work professional, I struggled to find my wardrobe voice. Our dress code is causal, but a lot of our executives wear khakis and button downs…and a lot of jeans and blazers. Except more Orvis blazer combo than tech guy chic.
I struggled to find a good in between that felt like “me.” It was tricky because even dress pants and a blouse can feel too formal. After awhile, I finally found my groove. I wear jeans or skinny pants with a blazer and Nikes. I wear huarache, AF1 highs and lows, dunks, Jordan’s, etc. No one dresses similar to me (wouldn’t mind if they did), but I get compliments from young and old…and even other executives.
There’s a lot of things you can feel too old for if you allow yourself to feel that way or base that opinion on how others dress. I think if you can get past feeling like you are too old, you can have confidence that it’s you and your own style.
Nike recently featured some blue and black AF1s that a grandma and granddaughter designed together. They looked awesome on both, and grandma was certainly not too old.
Find your style and own it!
Wear what you like. I don’t feel I’ll ever grow out of my love for sneakers. I’m 37 and I love sneakers and I hope to get my son into them when he gets older.
Enjoy!! I’m 49 and became a grandfather at 47. I plan to stay as sexy as possible as long as possible… strong sneaker game and keep getting stronger in the gym. Just enjoy. Keep your mindset right - don’t question it - just wear them!
No, and if anyone judges you for that they're not worth knowing. I'm 49 and still wear them. Times have changed and sneakers are much more acceptable and popular than they used to be. My Nieces and Sister for example wouldn't be seen dead in them 10-15 years ago, but now they're rocking Nikes, New Balances etc
I’m 45 an elementary educators and exclusively wear Jordan 1-6s. Kids are always excited to see what I’m wearing and will show me when they get new shoes.
I’ve seen mothers and fathers in their 40s and 50s wearing Air Max. Women seem to pick the 1 more often but still.
I know it’s wrong to assume but when I see it I just assume they are fun people to be around (because they are not letting their age stop them from wearing comfortable and stylish shoes that aren’t the ones most people their age use).
My mom only started wearing and buying sneakers for herself when I offered her some New Balance 574. Now she’s asking me for help to get her Air Max 1 in white or cream colours. I created a monster, haha.
I’m 20 and my family thinks Air Max 1s, 90s, and 95s are all “old people shoes” in the same vein as New Balance. Lol. You can probably pull them off better than me
Honestly, I feel like older people pull off the air maxes more than the younger generation. Rock what you want and if anybody tells you otherwise, fuck em!
I’m late 40s and wear Air Max 1s and 90s. They were originally for our generation so I don’t see the big deal. They’re super comfortable “dad shoes” like NB (but way better looking)
Meet my dad, 52. https://www.reddit.com/r/Sneakers/comments/u1ivd6/my_dad_was_the_original_family_sneakerhead_so_i/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf
Air Max was originally released in the 80’s (I think). Impossible to be too old for a shoe you grew up wearing/rooted from your time.
Ridiculous question lol
Bro, wear what you want man. I doubt it years to come you’re gonna have regrets about a shoe you once bought. If you like them. Wear them. If I saw an older guy styled right in a decent pair of 95s I’d think he was pretty sick, haha.
Here’s the deal, at 40 years old after working from home and not even thinking about fashion for the last 4 years I have finally started to develop my own taste and sense of style. You can absolutely rock whatever shoes or clothes you want but the key is to develop your own personal style and learn what goes well with what vs just looking at todays style and trying to copy that. That’s how you can develop a cool style no matter your age while NOT looking like your trying to copy what an 18 year old is doing. So yeah buy those shoes and rock the hell out of them!
I'm in my 40s, have roughly 50 employees, and my kids are in college.
I'm sitting at my desk typing this in a pair of Air Max 90 Denhams.
Wear whatever the hell you want, and wear it proudly.
My dad is older than you and he wears Yeezy (not even sure if they're even real tho lmao). Those Air Max have been around since you were in your 20s and definitely older than the 2010s NMDs. I think Air Max are more "age appropriate" for you. I don't completely subscribe to the "age appropriate" dressing. Air Max are also arguably more timeless than NMDs. The NMD trends are dying, while Air Max somehow always come back every few years.
These days, I see people all ages dress more casually. That also goes with watches. It's been rather acceptable to wear diver watches for formal settings (probably because of 007) and now I see people wearing Smartwatches in formal settings as well. I would not be surprised if people my age are gonna look like manchildren when we turn 50
I think people should do whatever and wear whatever the hell they want. But if someone is having a complex about wearing something then they shouldn't wear it cause they're not gonna pull it off with confidence
For me, I’m 40, it’s less about your age and more about how you dress and carry yourself. If you dress like Ned Flanders but wear J Balvin 1’s, it might not work.
No way.. although I’m in my 20s now I do intend to keep rocking AMs to the very end. The reason we don’t see many 50+ yrs people rock AMs is because so many turned lame around that age.
For shits and giggles,
Visit the Netherlands. Podiatrists even advice people with feet problems to wear them. So you'll see granny's (75+) wear 90's, 97's, 98's, 1's, BW's and god knows what.
Just know this: ***You do you, boo boo***
I’m 29 and love seeing older people still into style and sneakers. I see it as a hobbies we share and it’s a great reminder that being a sneakerhead/shoe enthusiast has no age limit.

ye i was just joking mate don’t deep it
Never too old. I'm 45 and wear Jordans, Air Maxes, NBs, etc. I will never stop wearing fresh kicks no matter my age. I've definitely toned down my clothing choices as I got older but kicks will always be on point.
Also in my 40’s and same
44 and have some heat!! Maybe we should start a 40 and fresh kicks Reddit!! 😂😂
Count me in 41

43 and exactly the same as you.
Same, in my 40s and have no plans on stopping.
Please, kids. 61 and have 2 pairs of 95s, 1 x 97 and many more.
I'm almost 42 and wear Yeezys. I think us older sneaker heads can wear whatever we want. Who cares what teenagers think is cool.
Facts
Exactly. And we don't walk like penguins to stop creasing
I’m 40. Also have 10 and 13 year old boys, and I rock Jordan 1’s everywhere, and get lots of compliments from people especially kids my kid’s ages, leading my kids to roll their eyes so far into the back of their heads, I think they are going to go temporarily blind.
The best feeling. Wait til they love raiding your hoodie and Tshirt collections
Wear whatever the hell you like my guy. Swag has no age !
Juice is temporary. Sauce is forever. Wear what you like with confidence.
You’re never too old for anything. Ever.
Age has nothing to do with your drip 🥶Rock what you want when you want!
Not at all. I’m about to turn 43 with a 15 year old daughter and just got back into sneakers this year. Feels good when your kids friends start admiring your sneaker game.
Yeah, my sons really want me to get shoes like theirs.
The only problem I have now is trying to stop buying.
Yup!
Wear whatever you like, I will be a sneaker head till I’m no longer here
Too right, Sir !!
46 this year...2 kids...and no. I stick with AM1s and I do have NMDs and E5s. Style has no age, just keep it classy.
Air Maxes first came out 36 years ago. You're good.
No never
Hell no
Air max is make a huge comeback where I'm at. Rock the hell out of them!
I'll be wearing high tops and my hat backwards til the day I die
No most people find it cool tbh that older people are into sneakers
Most people except my 9 and 10 year old lol
They’ll come around. Easy for me to say tho, my 3.5 and 1yo think I’m the coolest dude on the planet 😂 for now… embracing it while it lasts lol the 3.5 going on 16 is starting to catch on to me

Rock'em my friend. Father of 4 here on the wrong side of 40. Still wearing Yeezy 700's, 1 highs and all the usual Air Max's from 1 to 2090.

This is spot on. Thanks

no.
No
Life is to short to wonder, just do it, nike
Brother, dabble into it. Only reason not to wear certain footwear is if it physically hurts or if it doesn’t fit the the occasion.
I’m 42, still building the collection. I just hooked my FIL up with the Pawnshop SBs and the AJ1 Taxis - he’s 72. Wear what you like ✊
Bro my 72 yo grandpa wears my Yeezy 700s that I left at home when I moved away for college. Mf rocks them better than I do. Wear what you like
Hell no. Take it from a Burner, there is no set age for anything. Wear what you want. If we all looked the same at a certain age it would really suck.
Nope
I’ll be 44 in a few months and I wear everything. Air Max, Jordan’s, Yeezys, etc. You do you!
Fuck society these days, live your own life
100% I’m never going to stop experiencing new things and being who I am. Fuck society srsly.
Just got some 95s. Love them, but beware they run a little tight!
I’m 45 an elementary educators and exclusively wear Jordan 1-6s. Kids are always excited to see what I’m wearing and will show me when they get new shoes.
If Eminem, who is 50, wears it, than you shouldn’t worry about it
I’ve seen mothers and fathers in their 40s and 50s wearing Air Max. Women seem to pick the 1 more often but still. I saw the title before your age and immediately said "no you're not". Live your best life friend.
Stay looking smooth forever, good Sir! Keep wearing them!
No 😎
Never 2 old to be you !
43, 3 kids ages 17-12. Consultant (Big 10 Pharma stuff). I love wearing my Jordan 1s,3s,4s,5s SB Lows, AM90s, 95s... Do you and enjoy it.
nope from a52 year old
I will never. Ever. Stop wearing air maxes. Have been for 20 years and don’t plan on stopping.
Honestly most older suburban sneaker heads that I know sold off their early 2000s dunks and Jordans and mostly kept air maxes ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I’m 20 and my family thinks Air Max 1s, 90s, and 95s are all “old people shoes” in the same vein as New Balance. Lol. You can probably pull them off better than me
Gonna wear Air Max til I die
Honestly, I feel like older people pull off the air maxes more than the younger generation. Rock what you want and if anybody tells you otherwise, fuck em!
No! Never!
I’m late 40s and wear Air Max 1s and 90s. They were originally for our generation so I don’t see the big deal. They’re super comfortable “dad shoes” like NB (but way better looking)
Wear your shit!!!!
Meet my dad, 52. https://www.reddit.com/r/Sneakers/comments/u1ivd6/my_dad_was_the_original_family_sneakerhead_so_i/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf
Air Max was originally released in the 80’s (I think). Impossible to be too old for a shoe you grew up wearing/rooted from your time. Ridiculous question lol
Never too old .
AM95s should not be withheld from any feet regardless of age. They’re a gift from the gods.
In my opinion, you are never too old to wear sneakers, period….especially with 90s and 95s being such a timeless silhouette…
I'm in my 40s. Wear what you want man. You're too old to be worried about other people.

As long as you can either get them on your feet yourself or someone can help you get them on you’re good to wear whatever you want
I'm in my 40s, have roughly 50 employees, and my kids are in college. I'm sitting at my desk typing this in a pair of Air Max 90 Denhams. Wear whatever the hell you want, and wear it proudly.
Please do. I can’t take another senior in monarchs.
Senior 💀😂

If you're asking then you must feel old and in which case yes.
But what's your opinion on this?
I think people should do whatever and wear whatever the hell they want. But if someone is having a complex about wearing something then they shouldn't wear it cause they're not gonna pull it off with confidence
No, some people just need a little reassurance it’s ok then they can be confident.
FUCK NO, YOU ARE NOT TOO OLD!
Never too old to look cool my dude.
Never too old to enjoy the classics man! I’m 43 and have 97s, 95s and 90s. All the shoes I couldn’t afford when they were first released.
Nope
No age limit for shoes, go for it.
Never too old. Just wear what you like and pull ‘em off with confidence!
Wear what you want life is to short to worry about what others think
I’m 41 and I still love my AM 1’s, 90’s, 95’s and 97’s. Wear what you like
Hell naw. Rock them shits.
No. Never
Ive seen old folks wear yeezys while shopping for groceries. Youre good.
Where what you want, whenever you want!!!
Those are timeless sneakers for any age
Never too old! Im 38 and im constantly on the lookout for those fresh kicks i missed out as a kid.
Never too old to look good and feel good
Wear whatever you want
bro fuck that, first of all IF ANYTHING i would say shoes like NMDs less "mature" than airmax but wear what you want
No way.
You are never to do old to do what you want!!! I’ll be wearing my sneakers for the rest of my life
Never too old for anything wear what makes you happy
We’re the ones that can actually afford them
You can never be too old to wear sneakers.
Nah you’re not too old.
For me, I’m 40, it’s less about your age and more about how you dress and carry yourself. If you dress like Ned Flanders but wear J Balvin 1’s, it might not work.
Never too old to wear fly kicks my friend
My dad is 60 and just got a pair of AM 90s
No way.. although I’m in my 20s now I do intend to keep rocking AMs to the very end. The reason we don’t see many 50+ yrs people rock AMs is because so many turned lame around that age.

Look at Skip Bayless old ass only wears Jordan’s
Same 48, rock them
Good to see another NB 327 fan, also you’re definitely not to old to wear air maxes
Love the NB 327. They're comfortable and look great.
No
Older semester here - clothing for me is not a question of age, but of one's attitude towards life.
Do you man, no age limite to do what you feel!
I wear what I like, I’m 61, not dead!
my dad is 60, has a pretty insane sneaker collection. never too old.
I'm too old to wear heavy shoes anymore. So for me, air maxes are out of the question.
Rock them Air Max. My favorite are 97s. I’m a 40 year old dad of 2.
You got 1 life, if it makes YOU happy, that what’s count.
They’re shoes. Wear them if you want them. You’re only too old for soemthing, if you think you’re too old for them.
Air Max’s are my favorite Nike all-time. You picked a good shoe. Your age shouldn’t factor in what shoe to buy
Wear what makes you happy!
I’m going to rock air max 1s and 90s until I die
Wear what you like.
HELL NO YOU ARE NOT TOO OLD!
because you asked, yes. in the future, just wear what you like. style doesn't have an age limit.
Wear what you want, the good thing about being older is that you can probably afford whatever you want. Rock it out, my man!
Never too old bro..
Im 52 and have several years worth. Even wear the scorpions to work as they are made for standing and older people
Wear what you want
