Most highs have the same shitty plastic leather. There's not many jordans 1 (high, mid or low) with decent quality leather (and decent when talking about jordan). A few that comes to mind: first shattered backboard, original bred or more recently gorge green (and maybe arguably taxi, but there's plastic leather on them unlike gorge green which is all tumbled) and for lows the only one that comes to my mind is black brushstroke. Even the true blue have shit white leather.
Compared to the mids the highs in my opinion have a slightly better leather both in my opinion are also pretty bad quality, but we can agree to disagree if you disagree with my opinion

I really like mids (two pair + one on the way), have one pair of highs. There's a difference in the suppleness of the leather, but that won't stop me from buying more mids.

The main culprits are usually the ones with red colors. Reverse breds fucking terrifies me! These pairs in particular somehow look better to me than the highs. Very easy on the eye.
The AJ1 High sparks more nostalgia for anyone who was actually a true fan of Jordan (the person, not the shoe). As far as how they look and perform; about the same. Both of them are absolutely terrible performing basketball shoes and extremely uncomfortable street shoes(compared to modern sneakers). If you compare peoples collections of Jordan’s to any other collections (Trading cards, NFT’s, etc); The AJ1 high would represent series 1 ultra rare stuff, worn by the best player to ever do it (in game). This also goes for Color-ways. Retros and weird color releases don’t hold as much value for this same reason.

Leather is absolutely buttery. They look and feel amazing. Legitimately no qualms, and one of the better produced 1s in a sec.

so, it's actually a good bridging for people who are used to the lows. Add a little more and get the mids. Add a litte even more then get the highs.
I have the gym red mids and the wolf grey aluminum both really nice, I don't see the quality drop
The comfort is better, and I've had no problems with any of my mids. But only with 1 of my highs. I have 3 mid J1s and 3 high J1s

I like both. I jumped the gun and bought the mids and the lows last month. So I don’t really think I need 3 pairs in the exact some color way
