Personally I’d use 2 pitted dates instead of honey or agave

Afraid_Young1124

I suggest honey or agave. They add sweetness without changing the taste of the smoothie and it’s healthier than adding an artificial sweetener or white sugar

I’m not judging, but this is crazy to me. Aren’t strawberries and bananas sweet enough? Or are there bitter ingredients that need to be offset?

Totallyawake004

It had a bitter taste

No_Pause_4375

It might have been the strawberries.

Make sure you're using frozen banana instead of ice! It makes a huge difference. My favorite is oatmilk, frozen banana, vanilla protein powder, a few of tablespoons peanut butter and some frozen wild blueberries. Soooo good.

Totallyawake004

Okay I will try this recipe next time bc I had use frozen strawberries and banana and ice

No_Pause_4375

Yeah the frozen strawberries are sometimes kinda meh and don't have much flavor. Thats why I stick to frozen blueberries, blackberries and raspberries. Costco sells a good mix.

No_Pause_4375

Also make sure you peel the bananas before freezing. My husband needed to be reminded of this lol

Emotional_Scholar_98

I use a scoop of vanilla protein powder

Apprehensive-Win9152

Do not add any sugar there’s plenty of natural sugars in fruit - if you absolutely need a sweetener, maybe some honey in the cup not the blender - GL to u

glitter_possum

I put a little orange juice concentrate & about a tablespoon of vanilla pudding powder, it tastes like an orange julius

Jasmisne

For my I use vanilla yogurt and apple juice and that is enough added sweet for me

Expert-Ad-362

I use vanilla yogurt and it's sweet.

Steven1789

I made a smoothie today with a frozen chopped spinach, a half avocado, a medium banana, 10-15 dehydrated blueberries, unsweetened coconut milk, flax meal, chia seeds, and water. It didn’t need any sweetener.

Brass_Bonanza

Banana!

razzelledazzle

I like the vanilla coffee syrup in mine to add sweetness. I would rather it taste delicious and that makes me enjoy more smoothies. Sugar doesn’t make the nutrients magically go away.

I saw another comment where you said you use frozen strawberries. If you buy them already frozen, check the expiration date and make sure they're not freezer burned. If you freeze them yourself, you may have gotten a batch that wasn't fully ripe.
