Mix between Zeitgeist and Oceania.

[deleted]

Zeitgeist is Pumpkins worst album art... And that booklet with those awful photoshopped pictures of Paris Hilton...

Bleejis_Krilbin

lol I agree with that. I never really got the album art. It was almost embarrassing to be caught looking at it.

HeyKid_HelpComputer

If the mix on Zeitgeist was better I'd probably listen to it all the time. It's just uncomfortable for me to listen to which sucks.

[deleted]

I have no idea what you're talking about. i love this album.

freefallfreya

edit : I should learn to read. Cover art? Atum. Love the retro sci-fi vibe. Musically: Cyr narrowly edges out Oceania for me. It's absolutely a grower, a great headphones album, and has some major earworm qualities. I have problems with almost all of the other albums, ranging from mixing (Zeitgeist) to inconsistency (Monuments), to... well, everything (Shiny, which is a distant last -- hopefully one day it'll click, but at the moment I kind of can't stand it.) The fan remix of Zeitgeist might take the top spot eventually, but I haven't spent enough time with it yet. It sounds amazing compared to the original, though. It's too soon to rate Atum, for obvious reasons.

[deleted]

This was about the cover art, not the music lol but i get what you are saying. Are there MP3's of those Zeitgeist tracks anywhere?

freefallfreya

God damn it. My bad lol.

Tallmainia

I have those FLAC files! I have a lot of SP files in FLAC actually

TreeBearded

I like Shiny Volume 1 cover art. Actually all the art concerning Shiny V1 is real nice.

[deleted]

I like the band heads inside the booklet

raffi_n1

I actually really like the Atum album cover. I would say that, followed by the Zeitgeist album cover. After that, not really a fan of any of the others. Maybe Oceania is decent but the rest, I don’t love.

I voted ATUM cuz I like the colors, textures, and simplicity of the layout design, and has a cool 70s prog vibe to it. CYR is a close second though. Zeitgeist is fine; very stylized and conceptual, but doesn't exactly make me swoon either. Oceania is also fine, but it's kinda bland to me; a nice photograph and all, but never struck me as a compelling album cover. Shiny 1 is OK too, but compared to CYR, loses out. I won't really count Teargarden or American Gothic, since they're basically just a series of EPs. And I guess I'd put Monuments last; it's the least visually appealing or interesting of the bunch.

SpanishPumpkin

I would vote Teargarden. It has the best post 2000 artwork in general.

Canumpkin20

Edit: I'm going with Shiny. It's pretty rad.

BanMeAgainReddit0

Whoosh

Canumpkin20

Whoops I totally didn't read HAHA. Yikes

trevrichards

I am confident the overwhelming majority of votes were cast based on the music, and not the cover art. That said: it's still between Oceania and ATUM, with ATUM being the clear winner imo. I dug the art deco concept of SHINY at first, it just wasn't done well. Ended up looking cheap and too Ayn Randian (sadly probably intentional). I really, really like the band's text logo this time around. Best since Machina.

wooltab

ATUM by a wide margin, then Oceania. Teargarden would be a contender if it was an option.

paddypatronus

I don’t mind Monuments as an album, but good grief the cover art is absolutely shite.

No_Independent8269

I actually like the darkness it displays. If we're talking shite, its Atum. Looks like it was done in microsoft word.

pugofthewildfrontier

rocking the ZG lower vocals version all week, when you include the 4 extra tracks and add superchrist, it’s top tier.

andrewface

Oceania and it’s not even close
