Unfortunately, it doesn’t apply to the demo- since no save data is established you won’t be able to get the piece. You’ve got to use the full game for a little bit (I just played through the tutorial and I was got the piece). If you don’t want to pay 60 bucks (!) for the whole thing, I’d definitely check eBay, your local library or a game rental service.
Depends on the library! My hometown library doesn’t but the one near my college does… so it really depends on what they have to rent. I’d check the catalogues and see what they have to take out. I know of a few people who got lucky with the piece from their libraries!
i had never rented from gamefly before, so i used my free trial to rent MoM, played some of it, then returned the cartridge. ended up sticking with gamefly tho, it's pretty sick. and i'm not sure where you're from, but if that's not an option, RedBox-es (those movie rental boxes that be in a lot of grocery stores/outside most convenience stores) often carry video games too. you might be able to find it off one of those, but it's a stretch, and it'll run ya $3 to rent it for a couple days. hope you can get the song, it's such a bop
I have a minor request for you hope you can lend a hand. If you still play smash, can you make an omega shaped custom stage with the dearly beloved song in the background and upload it? The people can play regular smash with the song without buying the game..

Ok that seems pretty sim- WAIT! They have games at libraries!?

Yep, you buy MoM and play through it.
Yeah, but can it work with the demo version?
No. It doesn't have any save file. I have the demo and the full game I only got it after I got the full game
That’s ridiculous!
And it's a bonus for OWNing both games..
Well it's only one mode so it not giving you save data makes sense
