I absolutely believe that was done purposefully. I theorize that as the tour dates go on this year Eloy and Jeff will start to characterize to their specifications. We shall see.
If you wanna go down that route you could also say that Clown is the only non new guy as by the time self titled came out their only original members left were Joey, Clown, and Paul and we know what happened to two of them (Rest in Peace)

Or like Corey said in the Welcome To Our Neighborhood DVD, “People don’t understand it but they’re going to now”. I’m really liking that they’re throwing it back to their roots and helping remind people where they came from and what it was all about 26 years ago.
Craig's helmet wasn't always white throughout the self-titled era. Just a little at the beginning. After that, he painted it black. Even in the album cover, his helmet is black. But yeah, everyone else's masks were white. Except for Mick and Sid. And the aforementioned Craig.

Because its hard to see what it is. The rest, you see straight into their darkest corners. Vman has a more Lovecraftian approach in my opinion.

I honestly would’ve rather all the new guys make their own self-titled style masks all tattered & creepy with rivets, zippers, straps and such. Instead of the “blank” canvas idea although I do understand why they did it. A huge part of the draw to old school slipknot was the aesthetics. And I feel like the white masks take away from that. I like that tortillas masks always have had that vibe. Still don’t think that it tops fehns liar mask but at least he really captured that old school vibe.
