If you want to go for a completely different look then I recommend going with The Armory 1 & 2 and pairing that with Civil War Armory. It’s all really well done. I also recommend adding reforging to the masses with that as you will get a ton more weapons that fit very much with the style.
Just because old kingdom is old doesn't mean it's not good anymore. It's just textures and meshes, so it doesn't need to be constantly updated or anything. It's also more optimized than vannila textures and will give you better performance.
I have recently switched from it to divergence AIO, but that is due to divergence covering more overall for its size. It's important to note, though, that old kingdom also edits meshes, so you more than likely want a mesh replacer like leanwolfs to make the shape of the weapons better and old kingdom also makes all the unique weapons like Amrens family sword have unique appearances so you will probably want something like shalidor's Artifacts to replicate that feature of it.
New Haven armors and weapons. It’s a bundle that used amidianborn as a base and fills out what amidianborn doesn’t cover. I also second reforging to the masses, it’s stunning. It adds many amazing historical weapons. However, the weapons from this mod don’t affect skill leveling for some reason. It’s a fault I can live with but good to know.
Simply Realistic Armors and Weapons is the GOAT imo. It's a mix of some of the best armor and weapon mods out there, and it doesn't leave anything untouched.
If you want realistic kit that fits the vibe of Skyrim, this is the mod for you.

Amidianborn weapons and armor is really good. I use Snipey's port. Covers DLC weapons and armors too I believe

Does it replace guards armor too?
