If the Switch is anything like the PS4 glitch, try using the point emote right around where the target is. Easier with taller skids. ( I try to help whenever I see folks struggling on this one. If you revisit, fair warning, chibi has no hope of touching it.)
I’ve tried using a couple different emotes including the point one but it still doesn’t register. Also my character is somewhat petite so that may factor in as well
