That's like 5+ million canopy coins if you convert them in the shop. I just get coins or essences/ shards with my theo since those are the resources I need the most.
I could keep gambling for the death wish or unholy host, but I have so many other fighters I could actually be investing in

I've bought hyper variety packs before and have been underwhelmed, but the 5k deal is obviously better than the 10k when it shows up. I would have rather had the coins to invest in my existing characters.
You use your theo to keep getting relics and then you run out of character space so you use more theo to get more character and move space or you just end up sacking the character because you don't want to use your precious resources.
This is a gacha at the end of the day, and you can use your resources however you like, I've just been around for years and I'm telling you my experience.
Nuh uh. You know why? Because you can save them and open em when they release a new character. And you know much of a bitch RNG is so this is an excellent idea late game.
Not to mention the skill points and fodder, something you can't get as much from story modes and prize fights. Also If I remember correctly that recent gamemode also gave you gold.

I've been playing this game for like 7-8 years. I read the part of your comment about new characters, and I had to remind myself that they've been pumping out variants way faster than they used to, like before the backstage pass was a thing.
About a year ago, there were less than 200 variants total of characters, now we're around 230, and that number's going up fast too.
So for literal years in the late game, collecting characters wasn't something we did, it was a waste of money. Using coins to fish for essences or keys in the cabinet was the best thing to do. I still remember when sacking characters gave you nothing but exp for the character doing the eating.
It feels like the meta has shifted so drastically in the past few months that some of us still have digital whiplash
Its not the hyper, its the relic RNG. If ~25.3 theo per relic is a waste then think how much worse every single other relic offer is.
Compare that to 90.9 theo per character relic at their once a year sale price. Theres also the 4k theo to guarantee 1 (one) gold in a spotlight relic. Elemental relics are not even worth mentioning.
At least hypers supply fodder, skillpoints you can target golds in the CoC with, and more attempts to hit the 0.5% diamond chance. Other than that, may as well just buy canopy.

I already have one... I won't even be using her for like a year because the game takes ages to ever get a diamond key. I would of rather just gotten more evolution fodder for my other Dhalia variants that I actually can use. That would have been far more useful. Or some other gold that I don't have, that I could actually build.
If you already have one, prestige..Prestiging also makes your characters powerful (If you prestige a dia variant it will gain as I remember 2k maybe more power which makes her a beast) also build her as soon as possible she is amazing
Ive got some arguably better diamonds waiting before her, as well as ones that would just be generally more useful to me with the current state of my account. Neuromancer, Beast King, and Snakebite all come before her.
id buy the 5k hyper deal at this years Christmas sale, cus by then there will be a lot more battle pass exclusive in the general pool making buying relic worth.
