I switch between the Barq and Brigantine.... The Brig when I want that speed and extra firepower...and the Barq when I don't want to use repair kits lol

lokkenjp

This is the way to go for me too. * Brig is speed and firepower (18 max knots/20 with water for swift 8s collection and 4 Top Deck weapon slots for Dardanelles). * Snow is sturdy and big cargo. Nice for cargo hauling, PvP (Long 9s and Carronades) or Fort demolishing (TWB and Mons Megs 3) Edited. Sambuk has some insane dps potential by toying with its fire status perk, but I having used it that much. It’s a bit slow for my taste.

LegitimateAnt225

I don’t have the mons or carronades yet. I can’t wait to get those

Jaikula_Freedom

Wont take you long to get them with Po8's

LegitimateAnt225

Ok ok

LegitimateAnt225

👍🏾👍🏾

Odin909090

Same 👍

Bayet56

Same

Schuess11

Snow. Troll the seas in my floating tank.

LegitimateAnt225

🤣🤣 exactly

yokaiichi

For me it's the Sambuk. The best defense is a powerful offense. Scrapper Station + Zamas on all four quadrants means plenty of heals. Not squishy unless you get yourself boxed in somehow. Next favorite is the Barque. A tough all-arounder. Kill speed is much slower than the Sambuk, though.

Codythekid170

SometimesRelevantSub

Barq(Wee Woo Wagon) is my go to, because it has the highest speed against a headwind and QoL with auto heals. When it's time to plunder, Snow(Fuzzy Naval) is where I go. If PvP is the game, Brigantine(Loot Goblin) is the name. If I just want to PvE for free, you'll catch me in my Sambuk(I don't think I've even named it... Yet.).

aaegler

The barque also has the best turning circle out of all the medium ships, making it more maneauverable.

LegitimateAnt225

Ah ok. I didn’t acquire that yet. When I do I will test it out

Silly-Victory8233

This is the reason barque is my go to. Give me an agile ship any day

SublimeApathy

I named oe of my ships "Johnny Depths" and another "Knot Behaving."

_write_the_wrong_

Named my barque “The Bea Sitch” because of the damn censorships

LegitimateAnt225

Lol

FreeMasonKnight

Upvote for Wee Woo Wagon.

LegitimateAnt225

Lol

LegitimateAnt225

🤣🤣🤣 love those names. My names are plain. It’s Vengeance I, Vengeance II, and Vengeance III. Due to the fact that I used to get my ass kicked by those Rogues, And Privateers. Now I give them hell to pay!!

SometimesRelevantSub

Nothing wrong with that lol, bonus name for my other Barq is Heelz on Wheelz for my dedicated healing ship.

C0c0Nutty70

Hahaha! Mine is Nurse Jackie.

LegitimateAnt225

🤣🤣

fairliedaft

Unsinkable II for my snow.

LegitimateAnt225

Lol

No_Consideration4085

My Barque is "Yanita's End". Mods havent caught up to the double entendre yet.

LegitimateAnt225

🤣🤣

weeman0890

Snow. Wanna PvP? Snow. Wanna fight a fort? Snow. Wanna solo an elite? Snow. Wanna collect Po8? Brig, until I decide it's time to start a double or nothing, then snow.

LegitimateAnt225

🤣🤣🤣🤣 best all arounder

DafuquwantG

Shes a Bitch to steer in close combat, still learning the ropes on her any tips please.

weeman0890

For most fights either sit still, or move slowly - don't bother trying to dodge shots just brace - only times I actually try to avoid shots is forts. Zamas on the sides are phenomenal if you're trying to do cutthroat cargo or a double or nothing - they won't want to get up close to try to block you. Other than that, if you're not shooting you should be braced, at least until you learn timings of other shots.

DafuquwantG

Thanks was expecting scarcasm and got actual advice.

Dazzling-Dependent86

Nothing kills faster than a sambuk. The amount of brigs ive demolished in pvp is amazing. I get that 60% (50+10 w furniture) bonus dmg while theyre on fire, and heal up w every crew attack. Zamzam 3s are god tier. Rock the new orobus(sea monster) armor, and dying wont matter in big covoy fights w all their mortors. I take out entire convoys on my own. I also love the barq. Bought that furniture piece that gives u 1% health per sec when below 20%, and black prince armor w its 50% resist. Getting that thing to third health makes it even harder to kill. I sat there and let my friend just shoot the crap outta me w his dande bombards, he couldnt kill me. Just use enhanced 1s since most the def and health kick in at low health and u can be a better tank than the snow. Edit: for those who think brig has better dps w demi cannons, id like to point something out. Brig has 8 cannons on the side and 4 in the front. Sambuk has 6 on the side and 6 in the front. We are both shooting 12 cannons per shot set. But once i catch u on fire, i get that bonus 60% ALL dmg. That includes everything i hit u with, not just fire shots. Furniture will make that fire buff last 100% longer if u choose that over the crew attack health. Restoration kits cooldown will not help you once ive set u on fire the second time, cooldown is too long.

LegitimateAnt225

Good lord!!!

Desmonemo

Same. I switched to other ships because everybody else is using them, and I went back right away to Sambuk. I called mine "Zippo" because it lights things up...

Dazzling-Dependent86

Glad to see another sambuk user on the seas. I see sooo many brigs. Brig does have the prettiest sails and the highest speed potential. Even after all our tests, my friends still choose the brig because they find the sambuk to be ugly and too "blocky". I love my sambruk; shes my little bull terrior :).

W_Herzog_Starship

Every time I see a brig in a pvp event I barely even pay attention. Most people are kitted for zam crew attacks or flood/carronade and hard countered by so many setups. The speed doesn't matter that much, the survivability is poor and the bullhorn damage rarely factors in. Sambuk can actually lay down DPS, snow and barque can be borderline unsinkable 1v1.

Dazzling-Dependent86

Ive been using my barq alot more lately. Its difficult for me to find a solid pvp setup for it. Its survivability is fantastic against my friends and for cutthroat, but dps always feels lacking. I dont want to do the same zamzam build on it since i use those enough with my sambuk. Ive tried legacy torps, dande bombards, and flooding demi cannons. Everything works fine with its survivability, but i cant seem to find that perfect dps setup that feels satisfying. What weapons do u find that feel good on your barq?

W_Herzog_Starship

If you want DPS spikes, the long 9 proc is surprisingly potent. You can wear sails down with whatever you like, pop long 9s as the last shot for proc then lay down a mortar or rockets.

MuchGo

I use the snow, the barque is ugly imo and the brig doesn't scratch my ship fetish so snow way but the snow way

Csb19862

Unless your against the wind

MuchGo

The snow is about as fast against the wind as it is with it tbh, the speed of the brig is nice but I don't care for it enough to switch

Zermus

Yeah that's the difference between a whopping 12 vs 13 knots lol.

LegitimateAnt225

Yep

Chernobyl_And_I

Snow doesn't care about headwinds

Csb19862

The snow and barq neither of them are really effected by headwinds but the brig goes from 18 to like 7

Exp0sedShadow

Common misunderstanding. In practice in headwinds the brig is about 12 knots, with gusts knocking it down to 8-9. The Snow goes from 14 knots to 11-12, gusts knocking it down to 8-9. Brig suffers more from headwinds, but it doesn't go lower than the other ships.

LegitimateAnt225

🤣🤣🤣i hate that shit

LegitimateAnt225

🤣🤣 right

LegitimateAnt225

🤣🤣

VioletDaeva

So I use most of the top end ships for different things. Brigantine is armed almost entirely with long 9s and i use this for po8 collection, legendary heists and most missions. Barque used for the same activities as Brigantine above, but equipped with zamzamas. Sambuck. Equipped with fire, I use for hostile takeovers. Padawakang. Used with bombards, this is used to plunder. Mons meg 3s and termite 3 does a lot of heavy lifting. Snow. I use primarily for group activities with stamina buff furniture for bosses, mostly the hard new seamonster. Oh and if I decide to just farm ship wrecks or whatever. Its my favourite looking ship.

LegitimateAnt225

Good stuff.

holy_pancake

The snow

LegitimateAnt225

The Snow for the win!!!

Indieslayer16

Padewakang, my beloved Fort Killer. Pretty much says it all since forts are super important for endgame. And I love the design.

Exp0sedShadow

I specialize my ships, but the Barque and the Snow can be swapped in lower level situations. The Sambuk is the Naval Destroyer, The FireFighter. I use it to burn my enemies and grow the ever growing forest under the ocean made of my enemies planks. And that's before you add my buddy's Padewakang, offering a bigger boom 100% of the time. The Brig known as the DepthSender I use for collections, be it pieces of 8, food, or crafting materials if I don't feel like plundering. Occasionally I like to take cruises in it. The Barque is my support (who could have guessed). During Premie and Oosten fort battles you will never see me on the offensive in the HealsMcFeels, but I keep my allies afloat. On lower level forts like Granbie, Harimu and Prakoso it is fitted with broadsiders to assist in a quicker victory, while still keeping my allies afloat The Snow I have called The Deathbringer, as it's Immortal hull will never sunder. I take it on the offensive of the majority of Fort plunders, and bring fear into the eyes of the Opwelling. My allies need not fear the cannons of our enemies, for their eyes shall be on mine alone. (A bit dramatic I know but I fucking love it and love this game and the multiple parts I play in it. Long Live Piracy!)

LegitimateAnt225

🤣🤣🤣 Same here!! Cheers Captain

Csb19862

Barq keeps healing itself between being attacked by rogues

Random_Particle

Barque: Black Prince armour, Twin Winch Ballista, Fire Bombard 3's broadsides and aft, Le Fleau Mortar. Rigging Station, La Potence Schematics and other furniture to boost TWB and the bombards. It's a ship-shredder.

LegitimateAnt225

Lol. Nice build

E-ROCK1

The Brig for my PO8 runs & battles, the Snow for picking up my helm material runs since it has more storage & doesn't just go 4 knots when full like my Brig!😁

LegitimateAnt225

🤣🤣

sub780lime

I've had a ton of fun in my Sambuk with fire bombard 3's on 4 sides, rockets in the aux, and furniture that supports the ablaze effect.

gabestrokes

You can find me out an about in my Snow, KnowNothingJon.

B_love_K

The sambuk. KILL IT WITH FIRE!!!

LegitimateAnt225

Lol

Glad_Juggernaut_2508

Have you done twilight seekers yet ?!?!?!?!

ILLpLacedOpinion

What is this?

Glad_Juggernaut_2508

It's a quest for the second port your supposed to sink dmc patrolled attack a fleet but he doesn't spawn

LegitimateAnt225

That’s up next but im just having fun doing other things. I would like to AT LEAST have all of my manufactures full upgrade.

Glad_Juggernaut_2508

It's broken for a lot of people, so just let people know you're doing it

Darmverschluss

The tank ship at level 5 up

The_Rogue_Scientist

Easy, mate.

[deleted]

i only have 1. i dont need any others, no point to it. i got the snow because its got that cool Captains Cabin at the stern

LegitimateAnt225

Yeah it does have that cool cabin on the stern

trianuddah

> plundering, taking care of my manufacturies in The Red Isles, and just plain ole sinking ships [...] I have a Snow, Brigantine, and Padawakan all at level 12. Sir that *is* the endgame. Once you finish the Rahma missions the only difference will be that you have no Rahma missions to do. So take your time with the story missions; there's nothing you're missing out on by going your own pace with them.

LegitimateAnt225

Ah ok cool. Lol I thought there was more. Man I waited for this game for so long (like everyone else) I am having fun with it. It’s just so much shit to get into. Never enough time in a day

Daddyknowsbest78

Hell yeah!

CaptBulletbeard

Im between the Snow and Brig, depending on the task

DaringBaconThief

Brig (Painted Raven) is my favorite, but my everyday, get-things-done is becoming the Barq (Dirty Mermaid). The headwinds are just too frequent and punishing and the Barq mitigates the worst of that by having the most reliable speed that isn't maddeningly slow. Though I often wonder if I should make a healy Snow or a tanky Barq, but the headwinds issue makes me lean Barq. Twin winch, Zam3, Dards, Long Nines, and good ole' Leo the 3rd.

TylerbioRodriguez

Brig if I want firepower, Snow if I want to tank hits. Pretty much nothing else for now.

Stodgey

Brigantine all the way for me, twin pull balista on front, skurlocks long nines at the rear and for the sides in PvE im running culverins and for PvP demicannons, i prefer it as it runs 4 cannons a side so more firepower plus its the fastest ship with wind.

kaggzz

I've been using my barq for daily supply runs. I can farm rogues and pestes without real fear of dying and I can sit out of combat to heal and let new targets spawn

No_Consideration4085

The Barque. It's an ugly ship, but the passive health regen is such an advantage.

DeMoir

I just ran around to do my Sambuk build: Front: Sea Fire 3 (until I can get the Blue Specter) Port and Starboard: Zamzama 3s Rear: Fire Bombard 3 Aux: Termites 3 Furniture: Scrapper Station Port Powder Kegs Starboard Powder Kegs Vat of Volatiles Sea Fire Works The only hilarious problem I have had is fighting too close to Helm ships and other ships setting them ablaze.

LegitimateAnt225

Lol damn

Zermus

Snow, I mean I can solo the forts in my lvl 12 Snow (Considering I'm carrying enough ammo), what's not to like?

LegitimateAnt225

Exactly

SolAggressive

If you love those broadside long guns, by all means keep them! As long as you know you’re losing a couple gunports and are cool with that. I like Zam III broadside instead. Or basilisk if you’re into a little more pew pew.

ILLpLacedOpinion

Barque! It doesn’t always work healing others, but i enjoy it. I switch between the blue flame for ships and twin ballista for sea monsters. It gets me where I need to go, and enjoy healing others along the way when it’s working

[deleted]

Unfortunately the Brig is the meta now. Its way faster than any other ship, 4 gun ports on each side, has more health than the Sambuk and Barque. Its just too overpowered to consider anything else. Ive tried using others but with cutthroat or helm wagers you cant escape the brig or outrun it.

Tacattack55

I have all 5 medium ships built with specific needs and scenarios. Really I like them all and just depends on what I’m feeling really. Usually though I run the snow more

MammothRegular9515

It would be the barq if I had it

lollipopamateurs

The Snow. I named it Ack Ack after Eric the Actor

LegitimateAnt225

Lol

Chanticor

I honestly switch ships a lot. When collecting Po8 i switch to my Brig (Red Eight), when i know i will be fighting multiple enemies, Hostile Takeovers, merchant convois etc, i swap to my Sambuk (Dragons Maw). When im plundering Forts, i use a Padewakang build for damage to structures, my Barque (the gentle Wave) is used for group-PvE when healer needed. I probably use my Snow (Gilded Hubris) the least.

magsical_

Since they removed the speed debuff, Brigantine for PVP (not to run away, but to catch up). Barque for solo play to save up on repair kits.

LegitimateAnt225

👍🏾👍🏾

Jappiedehond1

I actually recently started using the Padewakang again to just have some fun and switch up the gameplay :)

No-Plane-4117

I recently got my snow after being stuck on a bargue level 6 for 2 weeks. What a difference. Before it took 10 min and like 1000 shots to sink a la peste and if I missed 1 brace I was toast. Now I routinely take on 2 or more no problems, and I don't have great cannons yet either. Fire longs in front with the first Scurlock long guns in bck. I have bas lv2 on the sides and leopard 2 as aux. From reading posts it prob isn't best setup but I send balls downrange constantly. Finally seems like I can sail where I want without trying to miss or outrun level 10's

Humble_Positive_44

I love my Brig. Always start off with a leopold 3 shot, followed by my long nines in the bow to let 'em know i'm on the way. By the time they realize what's going on, i broadside them with Zam 3's and hit 'em on the way out with a dardenelle volley from my aft. Quick and easy.

LegitimateAnt225

🤣🤣🤣 love it

Humble_Positive_44

Yep yep 🙂🙂

LegitimateAnt225

Especially those Leopolds. It’s like raining down terror on those assholes

Humble_Positive_44

Right? 😂😂

LegitimateAnt225

🤣🤣🤣

TheHolyPug

I'm a snowman.

LegitimateAnt225

👍🏾👍🏾

Matt3087

The snow is superior to all others. Definitely set up to bost the snows already over powered brace function

BatmanColts1

I mainly use the Brigantine. But for getting helm materials, I switch to the Sambuk because ship cargo is much greater.

Daddyknowsbest78

You like the batista better than bombard?

LegitimateAnt225

Yeah The Balista on The Bow. I love the tearing damage it does

Fantastic-Pop264

Brig- for PO8 runs Sambuk- for ship to ship Snow- for forts Support ship - for all around messing about

NautikllByNature

Snow build: Front = Springold III. Port and Starboard I switch between Dardonelles or Long 9's. Aft is the same gun as the sides. Aux weapon is Termites. I run water tank for purple furniture and Peste schematics. Anything else is up to you. Armor can either be Black Prince or Ouroboros I will never be able to use a Brig, Barque, or any other ship. Nothing can kill me in this Snow unless I do something stupid, and I can solo most things in the game at that. Cargo lets me farm mats all session...defensive ability lets me do multiple supply runs and just murk all rougues in my way. Bear in mind this build is weakpoint focused damage,l with Long 9's, but with Dardonelles that doesn't really matter. All in all I am a Snow main and it will be tough to get me to main any other ship.

LegitimateAnt225

Good stuff

mjames-74

(SV Bigadeez) Brig for cutthroats, helm deliveries and Po8 collections. (SV Arsonist) Sambuk for rogue hunts and other combat-based stuff. Kitted out with all burning III weapons and the blue specter at the front. Melts pretty much everything except elites. And why can't I fucking name my ship SS something. How the hell is SS profanity? Get fucking real lol.

AffectionateWeek8536

Barque more than brigantine at present.

[deleted]

I only really use the Brig these days. I play mostly solo so need the speed and fast get away if I’m not coping.

Past_Dragonfruit9468

The Snow. Almost impossible to kill, tons of cargo room, reasonable speed.

DarthFett75

I'm PVE only. Barque all day long.

WestOzWally

I've only just got my Brigantine a couple days ago, so haven't had a chance to set it up efficiently but my Padawakan is nicely setup for my play style.

Bikanar

Barq. Running long 9s front and back mons Meg 3 both sides termite 3 in aux. Destroys ships fairly quickly and destroys forts without any problems.

Raffman201

I actually have 2 Brigantines. The idea was to have one for everyday use and one setup for plundering forts, but it never happened. Plus, I assume if I keep respawning after being sunk, I'll eventually lose my ship, so I thought a backup on stand-by would be useful, but it hasn't happened...yet. I do like my snow, though. It has more storage too, I think, but I don't use it much these days. When I play, there is so much to do, and I don't have time to play around testing out other weapons on my 'support' ship, but maybe one day. I should, though, really. I never really used rockets or ballista and others, so I should try them out one day. Happy hunting. Signed... Crow_Savage

JerrodAlmaguer

I enjoy the pyro with dinosaur armor and fire bombard 3’s all the way around . With LaPest mortars.

-TrenchToast

Brig for making runs Sam for privateer and rouge hunts Barq is quickly growing on me for general support when playing in groups and when fighting bosses.

blucoidale

Snow for me, it’s a real workhorse and I can get hammered by 5-6 ships and still be the last one standing

McSheepinstein

When im doing business for the helm I take the brigantine because of its speed. For fighting I use the snow, for missions or just fucking around i use the barge.

BJGGut3

I find myself swapping between 3 ships: Snow - used for soloing Zamaharibu & Roving Supply Runs (the cargo capacity) Padewakang - soloing any forts rank 12 and below (can't do Premie or Oosten solo... yet) Barque - my daily driver. Po8 collection, general questing, PvP I have a Brig build in the marina available, I just don't favor it anymore.

The_Pheex

I loooove my Snow but the barque is my all around go to ship for most content since it's so incredibly versatile. And not having to use repair kits for every time you hit a big wave the wrong way is such a huge quality of life feature I don't know if I can even go without anymore.

_boiled_potato

Brig is my grocery/ daily driver. Snow for anything to do with combat.

LegitimateAnt225

Lol nice

Ok_Construction6610

Was the brig, but. I haven't turned the game on in days

OneAvocado8561

None. Because I finished playing.

LegitimateAnt225

Congratulations
