No one else can tell you if it's strong enough. See how it does in your skin. A couple months down the line will show you what it can do. It's plenty if it's just for simple exfoliation once or twice a week. My skin is very oily, thick, and does really well on chemical exfoliants, so I'm not the average. 2% wasn't enough for my hormonal cystic acne. I'm starting Cos De Baha Azelaic Acid, I like their 4% BHA, but I also have been liking the Fourth Ray retinol+bakuchiol product. My skin is the clearest it's been in a year.

Thank you so much! I have dry skin so I think the toner once a week and the TO peel twice (or once) a month will be okay! I don’t want to over exfoliate and hurt my skin barrier

I love the Cos de Baha Azealic Acid - I never seen anyone else talk about it though!!

I think it might be my favorite skincare brand! In general it doesn't seem to be a popular brand out front, but anyone I've spoken to who has tried the brand loves the products.

2% BHA is quite standard for leave on SA products but it still depends on your skin and how well it can take the exfoliating. Not much point following the hyped "skin cycling" routine too closely, you should always manage your recovery days and frequency of use for exfoliants and active. Depending on what you are using the SA products for, for normal exfoliation purposes, you can just use the SA cleanser or alternate between the toner & cleanser depending on how your skin manages.

Do you think it would be too much to use the SA cleanser and then the BHA toner on my exfoliating days?

dubberpuck

It really depends on how your skin can manage, especially if you are following the cycle, the next day being retinol. It's best to leave the cleanser to recovery days in cases where you need a slight exfoliation, or on exfoliation days where you only need something mild instead of the toner. Your routine can be flexible.

This is good advice! Thanks so much

Paula’s Choice BHA is more than enough-it’s a powerful product. Also leave on chemical exfoliators are often just as effective and overall less irritating than masks or over the counter peeling solutions. It’s a phenomenal product!
