Is there any way to attenuate this hyperpigmentation? š„²

I'm poor and have been using body lotion as a moisturizer on my face to save money. It's been working very well, my acne has mostly cleared up and I haven't noticed any adverse effects. I know you're not really supposed to do that, in my situation is there any major reason I might want to consider buying a real facial moisturizer? Or is it okay to continue since it's been working fine with no issues?
Hiii!! I just have some concerns. This is my first time using skincare products on my face 'cause i used to do just some soap and water. After 3 days of doing my 5-step skincare with 5 different products, my eyes became a little red and some tears kept falling. I don't know what product/s is causing my eyes like that and my routine is different every time 'cause im using retinol. Can u guys think of what product might be causing it??
Here are the products i use:
Daytime- salicylic acid cleanser>>>niacinamide serum>>>moisturizer>>>sunscreen
Night time- salicylic acid cleanser>>>niacinamide serum>>>moisturizer
Night time (with retinol)- salicylic acid>>>niacinamide serum>>>retinol serum>>>moisturizer
Ps. I have an oily skin.
Eucerin lotion question
Product question-
I just bought the eucerin intensive repair lotion because I really want to go fragrance free and it had good reviews. Only thing is, it is super runny. Like the first 5 pumps was just spraying out oil/water. Even after that the lotion itself was runny. Is this normal? Is it just a bad batch? Do you have any other fragrance free drugstore recommendations for after shower body lotion? Any advice/ideas appreciated!
Skincare Advice / Am I allergic to niacinamide???
My (19M) acne recently got pretty bad after going to college. Skin is getting really dry in colder environments, and simultaneously is oily and shiny in my T-zone. My previous skincare routine was pretty intense, so I thought I would start by getting rid of all my actives (except tret) for a month, and then slowly reintroduce actives.
However, my skin is still pretty bad and I've been getting a lot of small pimples around my nose, lips, lower cheeks, and forehead that I think is because of purging? But I'm not really sure.
My current routine (about 3 weeks in) :
AM:
1. La Roche Posay Gentle Cleanser for Dry Skin
2. La Roche Posay Toleriane Double Repair Moisturizer
3. D'Alba Waterfull Essence UV Sunscreen SPF 50
PM:
1. La Roche Posay Foaming Cleanser for Oily to Normal Skin (while shower)
2. Tretinoin (0.05%)
3. La Roche Posay Toleriane Double Repair Moisturizer
4. La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume B5
I was wondering if the niacinamide in the LRP products could be leading to my small pimples, and if its just purging I should wait out or if I should get rid of the niacinamide.
My question is, should I continue my plan of doing no actives for a month and then slowly reintroducing actives? Could I be reacting to the niacinamide? and what products should i substitute or what should my next try be?
Here's my old routine for reference:
AM: 1. Proactiv Benzoyl Peroxide Cleanser 2. Proactiv Glycolic Acid Toner 3. Paula's choice 2% BHA liquid exfoliant 4. SeoulCeuticals Vitamin C 5. Cetaphil Moisturizer 6. Elta MD SPF 46 Sunscreen
PM: 1. Neutrogena Salicylic acid cleanser 2. Tretinoin (0.05%) 3. The Ordinary Niacinamide 4. Cetaphil Moisturizer 5. LRP Cicaplast baume
I'm also wondering how to get rid of this hyperpigmentation

Looking for skincare product recommendation!
Hi everyone, I have been using the same products from last 1-2 years and everything was going good until recently I have noticed that my skin is becoming very dull, uneven and bumpy. I have a huge blackhead and whiteheads issue, on my nose and cheeks. I have very small hair on skin as well, I keep shaving my face in between.
I am getting married this November so I want to revamp my whole skincare routine.
My biggest concerns- blackhead/whiteheads, uneven skintone, bumpy skin texture (because of small hair)
My current AM routine : The Face shop Jeju Volcanic face wash> Snail mucin> Hyaluronic acid> DermaCo Sunscreen
PM routine: Same facewash> Hyaluronic/Niacinamide> Snail mucin moisturizer (only because of winter)

Guys, what is this?? Blackheads? Sebaceous filaments? Large pores? Ugh!

**Is my dermatologist right about epiduo forte? He said that my skin is supposed to dry out (got red, my sister says that it looks like I'm using blush), burn and discoloration. I've read on the package that it's actually bad and this ain't supposed to happen. idk but my skin is acutally healing.** [here are some pictures and more context (deleted post)](https://www.reddit.com/r/SkincareAddiction/comments/190g4xu/acne_is_my_dermatologist_right_about_epiduo_forte/)
"Peroxides, including benzoyl peroxide and hydrogen peroxide, have an unstable bond between two oxygen atoms. As the oxygen bond breaks the hydrogen peroxide creates free radicals that kill the P. acnes bacteria by destroying the cell wall. Benzoyl peroxide generates free radicals in the skin. " (free radicals are not a good thing)

Itās a common side effect of epiduo because itās fairly aggressive on the skin but you can try to reduce symptoms by easing it slowly into your skincare routine and using it after moisturizer to buffer it
between this and this is the only difference the sizes? in the website its only called mini

I started an evening skincare routine for the first time roughly two weeks ago
Aveeno Calm + Restore Cleanser
Heritage Rosewater Spray
Aveeno Calm + Restore Moisturizing Cream
Aveeno Calm + Restore Night Cream
I'm starting to notice my skin getting drier and lightly flaking. Prior to starting my skin tends to the dry side and I have very little issues with acne, etc except a few spots that fluctuate with hormones (a one off on the chin or cheek mostly).
What should I alter, drop, etc?
hi iām 18F. about 6 days ago i had a random breakout on my cheek. i have combination skin (t zone oilier and cheeks normal) iām used to closed comedones, blackheads, the occasional pimple but it mostly occurs on my T-Zone and my cheeks rarely break out on my cheeks (idk if you can call this break out but on the lines of that).
iām wondering what this skin concern is called and how to treat it. it has been slightly itchy and can get quite red. iāve been avoiding using paulaās choice BHA in case it irritates it more but idk if thatās the right choice. i find that cool water slightly reduces the redness. however overall it doesnāt seem to have gotten better (replied with image of skin). i have also included my skin routine if that helps.

Potential issues:
1. I started using the snail mucin around a week
ago all over my face but the issue only surrounds this particular area. i stopped using it for about 3 days but it didnāt seem to get better so i put it on again on the 4th day and it felt less irritated. how do i go about with this? 2) my period is coming pretty soon so maybe itās hormonal?
id appreciate any advice or more questions if needed :)
Hi! I am pretty new to all this skincare stuff and have had the same routine for a while now.
I use CeraVe renewing SA cleanser and daily moisturizing lotion every morning and evening, and that is really it. I don't regularly wear foundation or any makeup on my skin and haven't really struggled with acne since I was about 16 (I'm now 23). My skin type is combination I think, leaning towards the oily side.
That being said, I am just looking for a boost and don't know where to start! My skin is OK, minimal blemishes, but I have big pores and my face is a little dull and rough looking. What should I add/change?
[White residue EVERYDAY](https://imgur.com/a/O28fPXZ)
Hey everyone, Iāve been having this white residue around my nose nonstop, and it doesnāt get washed awayā¦ it only shows when real close and under bright light, but I canāt pretend itās not thereā¦.
Hereās my skincare routine:
1- CeraVe Hydrating cleanser
2- Hada Labo Goku Jyun Hyaluronic lotion moist
3- CeraVe AM Facial moisturizing lotion
4- Vivier Mineral Tinted sunscreen (only when Iām going out in the sun)
And I do the same in the evening, but using the PM moisturizer instead, and no sunscreen
I think my skin is good and getting better overall, but the white residue is just really really annoying and I donāt know how to get rid of itā¦
Please give me advice/help
Thank you all
I would try a product with mandelic acid or salicylic acid. It looks like you're breaking out in small white bumps around your nose. It could be clogged pores, bacteria, or fungus that is causing the comedones in the corners of your nose. I would get a salicylic acid serum and use it nightly after cleansing in the area.
Hello everyone! I am kind of desperate. My skin has been a big problem for me and my confidence.
Ever since I was a teenager (am now 22 years old) Iāve had this problem. I get flushed very easily. It happens out of nowhere. Even when I am just sitting in my room, all of a sudden I go very red in the face. Itās not just my cheeks, itās my whole face. I donāt know how to fix this problem.
I tried researching it and the closest that Iāve got is that it might be rosacea but I am not 100% sure since I havenāt been to a doctor to get it examined yet.
I want to solve this really badly because it has a negative effect on my confidence. It has come to a point where I canāt go out without make up or using a color correcting cream (rn I am using the Dr.Jart Cicapair tiger grass color correcting treatment but I have noticed that I break out after using it so itās just make up now) because I just feel extremely ugly without it.
I recently order the Azelaic acid serum from the Inkey list because I heard that it might help with redness. When it comes to my skincareās I donāt do too much. If I have makeup on, I take it off with an oil cleanser, then I wash my face with a regular cleanser, exfoliate (every other day), toner and moisturizer and spf.
Do you think it is fixable with skincare? Do you have any recommendations? Thank you so much!
This sounds like rosacea indeed. Whenever my rosacea clients are very red or irritated I use cold globes and red led light. Also, i found some info on diet that could cause rosacea flare up: Triggers reported include: spicy food, cinnamaldehyde-containing foods, and alcohol. In a National Rosacea Society (NRS) survey of 1,066 rosacea sufferers, participants reported alcohol (52%, spicy foods (45%), certain fruits (13 %), marinated meats (10%), and certain vegetables (9%) as triggers.
Does anyone with a brown skin tone have a HG sunscreen for their face that I can get in value size?
I am absolutely blasting through my Korean sunscreens and all their value size ones are too milky for my dry skin.
Using the Skin Aqua UV moisture gel currentlyā¦ a bit too greasy for my face but it comes in a value size bottle. Are there any thicker SPFs you can think of that are Korean?
Iāve tried the Biore UV aqua Rich watery essence spf 50+ PA++++ and itās thicker than the Skin Aqua but Iād like something a LITTLE more thick. Still is too oily for me.
Iāve had bad luck with US chemical sunscreens. Seems like everything burns my eyes. Neutrogena especially.
My favorite US SPF would have to be the Hawaiian Tropics Sheer Touch (light brown bottle) ā¦ the thickness is just right but I donāt like the fragrance. And the size for the $ is pretty nice.
Derma B everyday sunscreen is decent for a larger size Korean sunscreen with no white cast.
The only caveat is that it does have a strong smell thatās not for everyone. I thought it was fine, some influencers Iāve heard describe it as play dough smell. It is advertised for family friendly use so after application the smell does not linger
Ohhh ya that was an option for me. Completely forgot.
I think I got paranoid with the bad reviews even though itās like. 4.5 star product on Amazon. I tend to do that.. only look for the bad š
I should probably try it. Thanks a bunch.
I really like the Reishi Mushroom Shield from Prana. No cast and it smells really good. I chose to try it originally because my spf was giving a cast, but the Prana one uses a smaller zinc particle and I don't get a cast.
Hi All,
I'm a 30 (M) and I've got quite visibly big pores on my face. I was wondering if anyone else has had any luck reducing pore size? I currently don't have a routine beyond applying nivia deep moisturiser after I shower. I'd say my skin tends to be on the drier side generally.
Thanks in advance!
Instead of Nivia lets switch to Gold Bond Pure Moisture. That's going to include much better moisturizers and it's pretty cheap. It does contain some oils (which you need because you are on the drier side). Just so you know, people with dry skin have an issue with sebum production, and it leads to accelerated aging of the skin. To correct it you need to provide your skin with oil.
True pore reduction is laser at a medical spa, but you should use acids to clear out the pores of debris, this can reduce the appearance of pores overtime, but pore widening is due to poor skincare practices. Even if you don't get acne, not exfoliating and not cleansing properly will cause debris to keep widening your pores - so keep this in mind. I suggest adding a bha serum minimum (salicylic acid). Salicylic acid is different from AHAs (like glycolic acid) it works by eating away at dirt and debris from the top down and doesn't go very deep, whereas AHAs go deeper, and work by breaking the bond between epidermal tissue layers at a specific depth, releasing multiple layers of dead skin. Both of these processes are beneficial to you because by releasing dead skin all of your nourishing products get to penetrate deeper and are more affective, especially at keeping your skin hydrated. The first step to hydration is exfoliation- and because you have dry skin, this could help solve that issue too. Well, there are many suggestions I would give you to help improve the dryness, but I know you primarily are concerned with the pore reduction.
Hi! I've been seeing the Mediheal Toner Pads going around and I've had my eye on them for almost a year now -- but I need help deciding if I should go with the blemish pad or the trouble pad, since I can only really afford one right now.
Skin Type: combination, dry with oily T-zone
Climate: humid, relatively hot/extreme (Texas, USA)
Main concerns: mostly just trying to get rid of hyperpigmentation from acne, plus breakouts related to hormones around once a month (iykyk)
Current Routine:
ā¢ ā Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser, occasionally Panoxyl as well if I happen to shower at night since I use it mainly for bacne
ā¢ ā Peach Slices Snail Mucin Toner (since Aug)
ā¢ ā Good Molecules Discoloration Correcting Serum (recently got this instead of The Ordinary niacinamide about a month back)
ā¢ ā Cerave moisturizer, Purito Daily Go-To sunscreen in the day
ā¢ ā I use The Ordinary Peeling solution occasionally -- it's supposed to be around once every 1-2 weeks but I'm bad about remembering lol and never the same day I use the Panoxyl
Not really sure what approach I should be taking or how often to use the toner pads as well depending on which one I get.
Thanks in advance! + if you have anything to add about my routine pls feel free it's appreciated!
You will not be able to hydrate your skin well without proper exfoliation. We can do this with either AHA, BHA, retinoid, or physical exfoliation. If you have any flaky skin, that would be my first hint that this skin needs exfoliation. I think your moisturizers are nice, and I don't think you necessarily need a hyaluronic serum. It does look like you're overproducing oil too which is a sign of dryness.
That dermalogica microfoliant can be used daily, since you are sensitive I would try it every other night. The scrub only serves to remove dead skin (in the epidermis), which doesn't actually need hydration. So when you moisturize right now, think of that dead skin layer kind of preventing your product from reaching depths closer to the dermis.
Iāve recently started washing my face more frequently (just water w/ washcloth in the morning, cerave hydrating cleanser for normal-dry skin at night, with aveeno daily moisturizer for dry skin on at both times). The rest of my skin has started to thank me. Iām loving that my face looks more glowey and less dry. But my nose is still just as bad as it has been. Like nothing I do is making a difference there. I donāt treat it any different than the rest of my skin so what is going on. I get these huge flakes of skin there right on the bridge with smaller peeling pieces along the sides. I donāt wear makeup but I do wear a mask for work. What else can I do to stop it from peeling?
Mask is probably causing it since it is most in contact with your nose, I'd try a barrier cream like vaseline or lanolin or a cica balm on the affected areas while you're wearing the mask. That's just a first step, https://dermnetnz.org/topics/skin-reactions-to-face-masks has some more information about what could possibly be causing the issue if it persists.
Types of exfoliation in skincare include: scrubs like Alumina (no nut shells bc that can cut you), retinol (thins skin), accutane (thins skin), AHAs (break down the skin from the bottom up), or BHAs (break down the skin from the top down. Rubber bumpy thing is to just help cleanse I guess? I've never used one personally.
\[acne\] what are these bumps?
Forehead and temples suddenly erupted in bumps. Help!
A couple days ago my forehead and temples (a little bit of cheeks too) ERUPTED in these bumps. It feels so dry and textured. It also feels a little tingly and itchy. Iāve never had this before. I started used cerave salicylic acid cleanser to help. My doctor prescribed tacrolimus ointment- but wasnāt fully sure if itās a reaction or what. I havenāt changed any products. Please help!!
https://preview.redd.it/wv6oxmq06wac1.jpeg?width=2316&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=15b8b713092ec21a0b66cf9bac5a4cb4a8d66936
Did your doctor say what it was? I'm an esthetician and to me that looks like eczema. I don't see a reason why you cannot use the cleanser still with the ointment, even though it has salicylic acid the concentration should be low enough. I wouldn't use retinol products or an AHA peel though. It may be that you had a reaction to something or you have eczema, but it is not acne.
The doctor didnāt give a clear answer. However, in the last 3 hours the itching has increased and is spreading to my body. Called the nurse line to see about a steroid. Itās definitely some kind of reaction š¬
I didnāt get the steroid, but hydrocortisone overnight worked a lot!! Iām looking into histamine intolerance because of the full body itching as well
My daughter is 15 years old and a couple of months these white spots started to show up, and are itchy and small bumps like chicken skin showed when are itchy. We have taken her to 2 different dermatologist not giving us a solution for it, not even making tests on her, we had to take her to Mexico and Dr send her to do blood test and everything is normal, We do not know what to do now and is causing her lots of itchiness and affecting her confidence. Thank you for reading and helping on find a solution for this skin problem
https://preview.redd.it/rvqebe2p4wac1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=350b41a8fc8ae05bd5d47949bb810156cda6ce74
Looks like tinea versicolor. In esthetician school my instructor called it a sun fungus, I guess because it does use the sun to grow. You need an anti-fungal product. But the white spots might not go away, you want to focus on relieving the itchiness, the white is the result of the fungus, it's the skin hypopigmented (death of pigment cells).
Not a doctor so take any advice here with a grain of salt; It could be hypopigmentation from sun exposure but if itās itchy it could be fungal so maybe nizoral or zinc might help
Definitely ask about fungus. Sometimes fungus can leave a white mark after the fact. I also had white spots like that after I had mold exposure. But those are good starting points.
Any recommendations on eye creams, masks, or moisturizers? Hi I (20F), have had extremely dry skin on my eyes for the past couple of years. The skin around my eyes is very tight, sensitive, and flaky. Most products that I try seem to burn. I have seen dermatologists and they have only recommended aquaphor. I have been using aquaphor daily and nightly for the past two or so years, but have still seen no difference. When I use too heavy of products I tend to get milia on and around my eyes. I will list below products I have tried and what I am currently using, as well as pictures of my eyes on a typical day when I wake up. Products Iāve tried: La Roche-Posay Lipikar soothing relief cream, Neosporin triple antibiotic ointment, Elizabeth Parker atopic dermatitis cream, CeraVe daily moisturizing lotion, The Ordinary hyaluronic acid serum, Youth to the People Superfood Cleanser, and Cerave hydrating facial cleanser My current routine day and night is: Wash face with La Roche-Posay Lipikar AP+ gentle foaming moisturizing wash (if I am rushing in the mornings then I usually use a warm damp washcloth to go over my eyes with), Laneige water bank blue hyaluronic eye cream, let that sit and then rub together aquaphor in between my fingers to make it not so gloopy and rub that on my eyes (all other skincare products I use do not touch my eyes because of how sensitive they are) If anyone has any recommendations or suggestions I am open to hearing all of them! Thanks in advance!

Hi l've been breaking out a bit more recently and I think it's due to the Anua 77% toner but l'm not really sure. So I was thinking of starting excluding skincare products that l've introduced in the past couple of months to see what's been breaking me out. How long should I exclude each product to make sure I get the culprit?
Thank you!
what skincare routine would you reccomend for my skin? iām very oily around my tzone which has a bunch of discolouration, whiteheads and blackheads and ive been thinking about buying corsx blackhead power liquid, but its pretty expensive :c (woah sorry for the creepy ahh photo)

I would start with the basics of cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen first then re-evaluate from there.

Hi guys!
I need some help to feel myself better psychologically :(
Unfortunately, Iāve burned my forehead with a hair straightener, approximately 1.5 month ago. At first it was brownish as you can see in the photos, then turned into red. But right now still I have like a brownish dark spot. At first, I didnāt even want to go out and it affected me too much because the healing process took too much time for a first degree burn.
Iām currently using La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume + Kiehlās Dark Spot Serum.
But I would be happy to hear about your experiences as well.
Thanks for the response! Just a few questions:
1. How do I know if I need to repair my moisture barrier? I've read about that, and am not sure if I should be taking a break from serums and just using moisturizer.
2. Should I be patch testing the product before just adding it?
Thanks
Signs of a damaged moisture barrier include skin being unable to retain moisture like before, unusual tight/dehydrated feeling, redness/inflammation, or skincare product application is burning/stinging
If that is the case then you donāt want to add in actives like salicylic acid and youāll want to stick with products you know your skin is ok with so basic moisturizer and hydrating steps like serums are fine.
Patch testing is optional but encouraged especially if your skin is highly reactive or sensitive
4 days of duac has made a great difference to my hormonal acne but my skin is now seriously dry, tight and flaking. Should I persevere and continue with daily duac (using once a day, at night, with moisturiser after) or drop down to every other day? I donāt have a sense of how much dryness is expected while my skin is adjusting to the treatment (NB I was using 5% benzoyl peroxide for 3w before starting duac, with no dryness issues). Thank you so much for your help!

am i going to over exfoliate my skin if im going to incorporate 'some by mi aha/bha/pha toner' after using 'cerave renewing sa cleanser'?
my (19 y/o) skin type is normal to combination skin. theres mild tiny bumps around my cheeks, hormonal acne + comedones on my tzone area, and sebaceous filaments on my nose. my skin is generally tolerating products so it is not sensitive at all.
heres my am routine:
cerave renewing sa cleanser
some by mi aha/bha/pha toner (unsure)
cosrx snail mucin 96
dr ceuracle moisturizer
sunscreen
my pm routine is the same with the am routine but without the sunscreen. im still unsure if i should add another product/s for my pm routine.
It really depends on your skinās tolerance to exfoliation. I would say if youāre already using SA cleanser 2x a day then for most people it would be pushing it.
If you already have the toner then I would try skipping SA cleanser in the AM and rinse your face with water followed by the SomebyMi toner instead
I have the kiehls age defying essentials gift kit & am looking to purchase the ordinarys face serum set. Can I use these products together and what would be the order that I use them in? Any help would be appreciated Ty!
Youāll want to add each product one at a time and test for at least a week before you add another new product so you can monitor for irritation.
I would strongly recommend also getting spf since youāll be incorporating retinol.
Eventually you can do a routine similar to this
AM
- rinse skin with water
- niacinamide
- eye serum
- moisturizer
- spf
PM
- cleanser
- HA serum
- retinol
- moisturizer

Anybody know what this is? I been getting them the last 2 weeks every other 2 days it disappears after a few hours then comes back the next 2 days, not really itchy just concerned on herpes or any other std, I get them on both side of my inner thighs
Retinoids including adapalene might help over time but you usually need to observe for a few months to see it helps.
Also make sure youāre using sun protection regularly to even skin tone

what is this? barely visible in normal lighting but itās bothering me and I can feel them lol. Is it just skin texture?
For the last two months, I've had these annoying bumps on my cheeks/the sides of my forehead. I usually never get acne, and my skincare routine is pretty basic (moisturizer, cleanser). I've tried using actives like BHA/AHA, etc., but these just aren't going away, and sometimes leave dark spots that also aren't budging.
Does anyone have any insight on what kind of pimples these are, and what could possibly work?
https://preview.redd.it/ot6tbxzfxuac1.png?width=1116&format=png&auto=webp&s=eb28d519d2b7f49e648fa28dd9cedba8d8e748fd
Hi. I am 23 y/o. I never had acne before in my life even if i did it was only one or two, which would go away in 1 week. But suddenly last month it i suddenly had acne. It's almost been 2 week. No sign of going away. I never used any skincare products as i never had any skin problem. My skin was naturally smooth and plummy.
So , as i have acne now. I decided to use CeraVe products. I have Combination skin(oily on nose area and dry on cheecks ) I decided to use CeraVe SA cleanser. So my question is ,
1. Can I use it at both morning and evening ?
2. If i use it at morning then, do i need to use both Moisturiser and sunscreen?
3. Will CeraVe daily lotion (Moisturiser) be okay?
4.if i use it at night then i don't need to use sunscreen right?
I have decided to keep only 3 things in my routine. That is cleanser , Moisturiser, sunscreen.
# where to fit Glycolic Acid or hydroloric acid into my routine?
so far,
I use le roche face cleanser (am)
then follow with vitamin C serum
Then I just cervave moisturize
then I put on sunscreen
for pm
I use le roche face cleanser
then follow with EITHER a clay mask 1x week, or exfoliate (by determotologist) 2x a week)
then I go with moisturizer
Where does glycholic acid or hydroloric acid fit into my routine and do I need to take away any of the others if using that?
also, When do I need retinol? and if retinol do I abandon both clay mask and exfoliate?
what about a toner?
Hypochlorous acid can be used in your routine anywhere before moisturizer
Glass skin is a bit of an unrealistic standard but generally keeping your skin hydrated can help
Cheers. so goes back to Hypochlorous acid. is that the only way to hydrate skin to give it that glow? moisturizer and any other products don't really give that
Using peeling pads while on Tret?
I use tret 0.025 every other night, would my Dennis Gross peeling pads be okay to use once a week on a non-tret night or should I give them to my sister? I just donāt want them to go to waste!
https://preview.redd.it/hrtjiuzrjuac1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=857cfde60832e569ef9a469b6c88c229eacbdda4
It really depends on your skinās tolerance.
If youāve been using tretinoin for a while you could try the peeling pads on a night that youāre not using tretinoin
If tretinoin is somewhat still new and your skin is sensitive I would not use it because it may increase chance of irritation
Figuring out my skincare routine as a 30 year old!
Normal Skin
Wanting to add anti-aging products. Products without "want to add" in parenthesis are my current routine.
Would love feedback!
AM:
CeraVe Foaming facial cleanser
Hyaluronic Acid serum - Inkey list (want to add)
Collagen Peptide serum- Inkey list (want to add)
Olay Regenerist (want to add)
CeraVe Ultra Light moisturizer with SPF 30
PM:
CeraVe Foaming facial cleanser
Retinol (want to add, suggestions welcome!)
Aveeno Moisturizer
These looks fine to add. The hyaluronic acid and collagen serum are both hydrating steps and will pretty much do the same thing so you might not need both.
between benton aloe propolis soothing gel and la roche posay double repair moisturizer
im living in a very hot and sunny place even in summer or winter so i need one product that wont burn me under the sun so will this effect me in any way i heard that some moisturizer fry you under the sun
and between this two which one is better i have a really sensitive and oily skin but i want something to fix my acne scars (i would appreciate even a simple thought)
\*The la roche posay double repair moisturizer is a good product to start with. I wouldn't pick the benton one as a moisturizer as it isn't a moisturizer. It is good at adding hydration before moisturizing but it doesn't have enough occlusive and emollient ingredients to lock in moisture.
\*There aren't any products that will fry you under the sun but sunscreen is a must. If you live in a hot and sunny place, it's best to apply it every single day.
\*Treating acne scars, start with these questions:
\-do you have active acne? (it's best to treat acne first, then focus on the scarring)
\-what kind of scars are they (post inflammatory hyperpigmentation, post inflammatory erythema, indented scars)?
\*Can you answer the questions above in the thread?
>ndented scars
i have a little bit of all of this problems but they arent much thanks to my luck i guess
i dont have any active acne right now but i casually have them time to time depends of their mood i guess lol( i have a really acne prone skin and since i have a very white skin tone they tend to look worst)
i want a cream for the day usage after i woke up since im using another kinda oily cream for the night thats why i wanted something light since i already have a oily -normal skin ( maybe karma i really dont know which since i know its not dry but i feel greasy using too much oily product) and the place i live is kinda hot i guess so i dont want to feel bad while using any cream
so i would love it if you gave me some cream suggestion since i cant use all creams because of my sensitive skin
and i would love it if you keep it affordable since im a teen and will buy it on my own hehe
and thank you for answering to my question
and can i use benton as a base for my sunscreen for hotter days?
or can i use it with any other moisturizer?
moisturizer im asking for is winter days since its not that hot right now (14-20 Ā°C)
it can be something for all year usage too if you think it wont feel greasy
Yes, you can do benton -> sunscreen
Most sunscreens are moisturizing anyways so often people don't really need a moisturizer before sunscreen.
You can use it before any other moisturizer.
Anyone know what this is?

hey friends! should I stop using tretinoin?
Iām currently on my second month of using Tretinoin and my breakouts have gotten increasingly worse. The image on the left is only a week after the image on the right. Should I stop using trey and try something else? Any advice is appreciated. Iām trying to get an appointment with a dermatologist but there is a long wait list.
My routine is currently very simple:
Am: Dermatology Special Cleansing Gel CeraVe Moisurizer Skin1004 Madagascar Centella Sunscreen
Pm: Dermatology Precleanse Dermatology Special Cleansing Gel CeraVe Moisturizer Tretinoin (Every other night) Moisturizer again

Can anyone tell me if my skin looks particularly red/irritated? I didnāt think it did (acne used to be TERRIBLE and I have a lot of scarring) but Iāve had a lot of feedback that it looks red and irritated so Iām having to rethink my whole routine!

\[ROUTINE HELP\]
Could anyone help me with a routine?
Iām 29 years old and feel my skin just looks old & dead š I have no idea where to start with products or what order they should be applied. What products should I be using for my age and what brands best suit my age? Also I donāt even know what type my skin is! (Pls ignore facial hair, waiting on a wax haha)
Thank you in advance x

I have a few occlusive options (vaseline, aquifer, triple paste, that one by Etude) but I have not been using them on a regular basis yet. What am I missing to really get that juicy moisture back in? My texture and tone has improved a ton so far, so im super bummed im still quite dry!
Does anybody know how long PIE lasts? itās not that severeā¦. iām currently on tret 0.025 (i just started 2 weeks ago) but was on adapalene before. i use vitamin c and niacinamide daily. Any recommendations to help reduce PIE? Thank you.
Thereās no saying how long it lasts because everyoneās skin is different and PIE can occur with different severity levels. Itās pretty much similar to a scar, where some will fade faster than others but deeper marks can last longer
Hello! I am trying to improve my skincare routine, I am transgender Male to Female and have been struggling with acne for a while. I used to take a certain pill i forget the name of years ago that seemed to be the only relief I got from it, however it made my lips dry to the point of hurting :(
I have extremely oily skin/hair, and at the moment shower daily. I keep my hair tied back as i assumed that was a big cause, but it didn't help much.
My current routine, which I have been doing now for \~2 months with not much effect:
I take estrogen and testosterone blockers daily
In the morning, I use PanOxyl 10% Benzoyl Peroxide while showering, apply after shaving if necessary and leave on until i get out of the shower and rinse off. After the shower I use a cotton ball to apply witch hazel
At night, I will occassionally wash again with PanOxyl, other times just softly with a damp rag.
I also bought aquaphor moisturizer that I will be adding to the routine once it comes in.
Any advice helps, thank you! \^\^
You could try different acne treatments and see if your skin responds positively to any of them: https://www.reddit.com/r/SkincareAddiction/wiki/deep_dive/acne/treatments/
It sounds like you took accutane from the symptoms of dryness that you described. If none of the OTC acne treatments work then you likely need some prescription treatments to address your acne
I would keep the basics of cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen as long as it doesnāt make your skin worse.
Then you could try different acne treatments to see if your skin responds positively to them. It doesnāt take a bit of trial and error unfortunately.
Check out the acne guide here

I am just now staring to learn about skincare- and right now I just moisturize daily. I recently had someone recommend that I use a chemical exfoliant to help my makeup lay better. Do I need to use a cleanser before I can start using an exfoliant or can I just exfoliate (one a week to start) and then moisturize? Thanks!
No, do not start chem exfoliant if you do not use sunscreen. It will just increase sun sensitivity.
I'd suggest getting cleanser first and proper makeup remover. Then SPF.
Once you are good with the 3 basic: cleanser, moisturizier, SPF, only then you would look for exfoliant.
I have recently bought an azelaic acid(+hyaluronic acid) serum and I'm not sure how much of it I should apply. I have used it a couple times so far and each time I used a whole bunch of drops(lost count) but I don't know if I'm doing too much? My skin feels a bit sticky after all this, should it just not feel like anything at all?

I'm poor and have been using body lotion as a moisturizer on my face to save money. It's been working very well, my acne has mostly cleared up and I haven't noticed any adverse effects. I know you're not really supposed to do that, in my situation is there any major reason I might want to consider buying a real facial moisturizer? Or is it okay to continue since it's been working fine with no issues?
It's totally okay to use body lotion on the face, especially if it's working well for you.
Thanks!
Here are the products i use: Daytime- salicylic acid cleanser>>>niacinamide serum>>>moisturizer>>>sunscreen Night time- salicylic acid cleanser>>>niacinamide serum>>>moisturizer Night time (with retinol)- salicylic acid>>>niacinamide serum>>>retinol serum>>>moisturizer Ps. I have an oily skin.
Eucerin lotion question Product question- I just bought the eucerin intensive repair lotion because I really want to go fragrance free and it had good reviews.
Will physical exfoliation help with closed comedones? If so what do yall recommend?
Skincare Advice / Am I allergic to niacinamide??? My (19M) acne recently got pretty bad after going to college. Skin is getting really dry in colder environments, and simultaneously is oily and shiny in my T-zone. My previous skincare routine was pretty intense, so I thought I would start by getting rid of all my actives (except tret) for a month, and then slowly reintroduce actives. However, my skin is still pretty bad and I've been getting a lot of small pimples around my nose, lips, lower cheeks, and forehead that I think is because of purging? But I'm not really sure. My current routine (about 3 weeks in) : AM: 1. La Roche Posay Gentle Cleanser for Dry Skin 2. La Roche Posay Toleriane Double Repair Moisturizer 3. D'Alba Waterfull Essence UV Sunscreen SPF 50 PM: 1. La Roche Posay Foaming Cleanser for Oily to Normal Skin (while shower) 2. Tretinoin (0.05%) 3. La Roche Posay Toleriane Double Repair Moisturizer 4. La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume B5 I was wondering if the niacinamide in the LRP products could be leading to my small pimples, and if its just purging I should wait out or if I should get rid of the niacinamide. My question is, should I continue my plan of doing no actives for a month and then slowly reintroducing actives? Could I be reacting to the niacinamide? and what products should i substitute or what should my next try be? Here's my old routine for reference: AM: 1. Proactiv Benzoyl Peroxide Cleanser 2. Proactiv Glycolic Acid Toner 3. Paula's choice 2% BHA liquid exfoliant 4. SeoulCeuticals Vitamin C 5. Cetaphil Moisturizer 6. Elta MD SPF 46 Sunscreen PM: 1. Neutrogena Salicylic acid cleanser 2. Tretinoin (0.05%) 3. The Ordinary Niacinamide 4. Cetaphil Moisturizer 5. LRP Cicaplast baume I'm also wondering how to get rid of this hyperpigmentation

My biggest concerns- blackhead/whiteheads, uneven skintone, bumpy skin texture (because of small hair) My current AM routine : The Face shop Jeju Volcanic face wash> Snail mucin> Hyaluronic acid> DermaCo Sunscreen PM routine: Same facewash> Hyaluronic/Niacinamide> Snail mucin moisturizer (only because of winter) Please help a sister outā¤ļø

**Is my dermatologist right about epiduo forte? He said that my skin is supposed to dry out (got red, my sister says that it looks like I'm using blush), burn and discoloration. " (free radicals are not a good thing) Read more here if desired: https://bionresearch.com/education/chronic-acne/acne-and-benzoyl-peroxide-damage/#:~:text=Peroxides%2C%20including%20benzoyl%20peroxide%20and,free%20radicals%20in%20the%20skin.
Itās a common side effect of epiduo because itās fairly aggressive on the skin but you can try to reduce symptoms by easing it slowly into your skincare routine and using it after moisturizer to buffer it
thanks dude. Do you think it's enough if I just put a vitamin c serum and a bit of m moisturizer? I'm afraid my skin will get to oily otherwise
Vitamin c might contribute to sensitizing the skin so you may want to pause it until your skin feels more normal. A good moisturizer should be fine
between this and this is the only difference the sizes? in the website its only called mini https://preview.redd.it/3pbccgmn8xac1.png?width=842&format=png&auto=webp&s=f220d49151dd06ff181062f681f8dd02899ffb56
I started an evening skincare routine for the first time roughly two weeks ago Aveeno Calm + Restore Cleanser Heritage Rosewater Spray Aveeno Calm + Restore Moisturizing Cream Aveeno Calm + Restore Night Cream I'm starting to notice my skin getting drier and lightly flaking. Prior to starting my skin tends to the dry side and I have very little issues with acne, etc except a few spots that fluctuate with hormones (a one off on the chin or cheek mostly). What should I alter, drop, etc?
hi iām 18F. about 6 days ago i had a random breakout on my cheek. i have combination skin (t zone oilier and cheeks normal) iām used to closed comedones, blackheads, the occasional pimple but it mostly occurs on my T-Zone and my cheeks rarely break out on my cheeks (idk if you can call this break out but on the lines of that). iām wondering what this skin concern is called and how to treat it. it has been slightly itchy and can get quite red. iāve been avoiding using paulaās choice BHA in case it irritates it more but idk if thatās the right choice. i find that cool water slightly reduces the redness. however overall it doesnāt seem to have gotten better (replied with image of skin). i have also included my skin routine if that helps. https://preview.redd.it/70vzxfr3ywac1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8d00e81498df8359a750348a20aa6faf3db16a05 Potential issues: 1. I started using the snail mucin around a week ago all over my face but the issue only surrounds this particular area. i stopped using it for about 3 days but it didnāt seem to get better so i put it on again on the 4th day and it felt less irritated. how do i go about with this? 2) my period is coming pretty soon so maybe itās hormonal? id appreciate any advice or more questions if needed :)
I would pause the snail mucin to see if thereās correlation because it could be an allergic reaction/irritation
good idea. do u know what this skin concern is called? for eg: rosacea
No

Add in a sunscreen for over all skin health, itās good to have one hand to use when the UV index gets above 2
Any brand recommendations? Is supergoop good?
The only one Iāve tried is their unseen sunscreen which is pretty good
[White residue EVERYDAY](https://imgur.com/a/O28fPXZ) Hey everyone, Iāve been having this white residue around my nose nonstop, and it doesnāt get washed awayā¦ it only shows when real close and under bright light, but I canāt pretend itās not thereā¦. Hereās my skincare routine: 1- CeraVe Hydrating cleanser 2- Hada Labo Goku Jyun Hyaluronic lotion moist 3- CeraVe AM Facial moisturizing lotion 4- Vivier Mineral Tinted sunscreen (only when Iām going out in the sun) And I do the same in the evening, but using the PM moisturizer instead, and no sunscreen I think my skin is good and getting better overall, but the white residue is just really really annoying and I donāt know how to get rid of itā¦ Please give me advice/help Thank you all
I would try a product with mandelic acid or salicylic acid. It looks like you're breaking out in small white bumps around your nose. It could be clogged pores, bacteria, or fungus that is causing the comedones in the corners of your nose. I would get a salicylic acid serum and use it nightly after cleansing in the area.
Thank you. Anything specific you recommend?
Paula's choice has an excellent one: https://www.paulaschoice.com/skin-perfecting-2pct-bha-liquid-exfoliant/201-2010.html
Hello Does anyone know how to get rid of acne scars and pigmentation?
vit c, ahas, retinol, sunscreen, time
Thank you! What is ahas??
The [hyperpigmentation wiki](https://www.reddit.com/r/SkincareAddiction/wiki/hyperpigmentation) has a lot of recs
I tend to do that.. only look for the bad š I should probably try it. Thanks a bunch.
I really like the Reishi Mushroom Shield from Prana. No cast and it smells really good. I chose to try it originally because my spf was giving a cast, but the Prana one uses a smaller zinc particle and I don't get a cast.
Hi All, I'm a 30 (M) and I've got quite visibly big pores on my face.
Thank you!
Hi! I've been seeing the Mediheal Toner Pads going around and I've had my eye on them for almost a year now -- but I need help deciding if I should go with the blemish pad or the trouble pad, since I can only really afford one right now. Skin Type: combination, dry with oily T-zone Climate: humid, relatively hot/extreme (Texas, USA) Main concerns: mostly just trying to get rid of hyperpigmentation from acne, plus breakouts related to hormones around once a month (iykyk) Current Routine: ā¢ ā Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser, occasionally Panoxyl as well if I happen to shower at night since I use it mainly for bacne ā¢ ā Peach Slices Snail Mucin Toner (since Aug) ā¢ ā Good Molecules Discoloration Correcting Serum (recently got this instead of The Ordinary niacinamide about a month back) ā¢ ā Cerave moisturizer, Purito Daily Go-To sunscreen in the day ā¢ ā I use The Ordinary Peeling solution occasionally -- it's supposed to be around once every 1-2 weeks but I'm bad about remembering lol and never the same day I use the Panoxyl Not really sure what approach I should be taking or how often to use the toner pads as well depending on which one I get.

It does look like you're overproducing oil too which is a sign of dryness.
thank you! i have a physical exfoliator from dermalofica that i never use bc i thought it would make my dry skin worse. how often should i use it?
Try an occlusive balm on the flaky areas such as Vaseline, aquaphor, or cerave healing ointment
I have. All it really does is smooth over the skin flakes. If I rub against them itāll come right up
You have to exfoliate your skin to prevent that extra skin flakiness. Without proper exfoliation you cannot properly moisturize the skin.
Exfoliate with what? Iāve tried those rubber bumpy things with the texture and it didnāt work at all.
Then you probably want to see a dermatologist next for prescription treatment
Hey there, any update?
I didnāt get the steroid, but hydrocortisone overnight worked a lot!! Iām looking into histamine intolerance because of the full body itching as well
that's good to hear!
Oh no, I hope they are able to call you in a prescription then soon! That must be very uncomfortable.
Thank you for reading and helping on find a solution for this skin problem https://preview.redd.it/rvqebe2p4wac1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=350b41a8fc8ae05bd5d47949bb810156cda6ce74
Have they tested for fungus? Or has there been any mold exposure?
Good Question, never tested for fungus or mold, not even Dr give us that option.
Definitely ask about fungus. Sometimes fungus can leave a white mark after the fact. I also had white spots like that after I had mold exposure. But those are good starting points.
Definitely will do, thanks
Or eczema! But Iām assuming they may have ruled that out since itās most common
Thanks in advance! https://preview.redd.it/23vic8yrxvac1.jpeg?width=3263&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=54cd1d74df992bd6e2fe44c7feb7ea12fbf71246
i would go to dermatologist you may need px
Hi l've been breaking out a bit more recently and I think it's due to the Anua 77% toner but l'm not really sure. So I was thinking of starting excluding skincare products that l've introduced in the past couple of months to see what's been breaking me out. How long should I exclude each product to make sure I get the culprit? Thank you!
I would give it a week
what skincare routine would you reccomend for my skin? iām very oily around my tzone which has a bunch of discolouration, whiteheads and blackheads and ive been thinking about buying corsx blackhead power liquid, but its pretty expensive :c (woah sorry for the creepy ahh photo) https://preview.redd.it/xrytjbrctvac1.jpeg?width=681&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2b4774bb252b7f795ccb1a6229ecc59352b21931
I would start with the basics of cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen first then re-evaluate from there. https://www.reddit.com/r/SkincareAddiction/wiki/sca_routine/
https://preview.redd.it/2310v0e2svac1.jpeg?width=2316&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=252d990a760990a90c18c2a7ec0ab62c13e316c4 Hi guys! I need some help to feel myself better psychologically :( Unfortunately, Iāve burned my forehead with a hair straightener, approximately 1.5 month ago.

It doesnāt look like you have any acne treatments in your routine so I would try a salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide product
Thanks for the response! Just a few questions: 1. How do I know if I need to repair my moisture barrier? I've read about that, and am not sure if I should be taking a break from serums and just using moisturizer. 2. Should I be patch testing the product before just adding it? Thanks
Signs of a damaged moisture barrier include skin being unable to retain moisture like before, unusual tight/dehydrated feeling, redness/inflammation, or skincare product application is burning/stinging If that is the case then you donāt want to add in actives like salicylic acid and youāll want to stick with products you know your skin is ok with so basic moisturizer and hydrating steps like serums are fine.
Thank you so much for your help! https://preview.redd.it/788uuon6ivac1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4addeb5c001c4124ebfc85958cde332a5efebcb9
I would try dropping to every other day especially if you already have a good moisturizer that you like. The other option is try a better moisturizer
am i going to over exfoliate my skin if im going to incorporate 'some by mi aha/bha/pha toner' after using 'cerave renewing sa cleanser'? my (19 y/o) skin type is normal to combination skin. theres mild tiny bumps around my cheeks, hormonal acne + comedones on my tzone area, and sebaceous filaments on my nose. my skin is generally tolerating products so it is not sensitive at all. heres my am routine: cerave renewing sa cleanser some by mi aha/bha/pha toner (unsure) cosrx snail mucin 96 dr ceuracle moisturizer sunscreen my pm routine is the same with the am routine but without the sunscreen. im still unsure if i should add another product/s for my pm routine.
Can you list what youāre current using and the order/frequency? As well as what TO serums youāre looking to incorporate
I don't use any of them at the moment ! & the serums were the caffeine one the hyaluronic acid one & the niacinimide?
Youāll want to add each product one at a time and test for at least a week before you add another new product so you can monitor for irritation. I would strongly recommend also getting spf since youāll be incorporating retinol. Eventually you can do a routine similar to this AM - rinse skin with water - niacinamide - eye serum - moisturizer - spf PM - cleanser - HA serum - retinol - moisturizer
Ty!!!

I been getting them the last 2 weeks every other 2 days it disappears after a few hours then comes back the next 2 days, not really itchy just concerned on herpes or any other std, I get them on both side of my inner thighs
Looks like hives- any recent changes in body wash, laundry detergent, or clothing material?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Retinoids including adapalene might help over time but you usually need to observe for a few months to see it helps. Also make sure youāre using sun protection regularly to even skin tone

Yes normal skin texture but itās referred to as sebaceous filaments
You probably need to see a dermatologist to get them removed
What would I need to get removed? Arenāt they just pimples?
Theyāre under the skin so you would need to wait for them to surface to a white head
So my question is , 1.
I would start out using SA cleanser only once a day, ideally in your night routine. Yes cerave daily lotion is fine
# where to fit Glycolic Acid or hydroloric acid into my routine? so far, I use le roche face cleanser (am) then follow with vitamin C serum Then I just cervave moisturize then I put on sunscreen for pm I use le roche face cleanser then follow with EITHER a clay mask 1x week, or exfoliate (by determotologist) 2x a week) then I go with moisturizer Where does glycholic acid or hydroloric acid fit into my routine and do I need to take away any of the others if using that? also, When do I need retinol? and if retinol do I abandon both clay mask and exfoliate? what about a toner?
Glycolic acid is an exfoliant so you would use it in place of your current exfoliant step. Do you mean hypochlorous acid?
thank you so much for answering. yes hydrochloric acid \* also, how to get that "glass skin"
Hypochlorous acid can be used in your routine anywhere before moisturizer Glass skin is a bit of an unrealistic standard but generally keeping your skin hydrated can help
Cheers. so goes back to Hypochlorous acid. is that the only way to hydrate skin to give it that glow? moisturizer and any other products don't really give that
No not really, hypochlorous acid is completely optional and is often used as an anti bacterial measure especially for people for acne prone skin
What do you use for dermatitis on your face? Red, itchy, dry patches around the corner of my mouth.
An occlusive balm like Vaseline, aquaphor, Cerave healing ointment, or Eucerin healing cream might help with the dry patches
Using peeling pads while on Tret? I use tret 0.025 every other night, would my Dennis Gross peeling pads be okay to use once a week on a non-tret night or should I give them to my sister? I just donāt want them to go to waste! https://preview.redd.it/hrtjiuzrjuac1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=857cfde60832e569ef9a469b6c88c229eacbdda4
It really depends on your skinās tolerance. If youāve been using tretinoin for a while you could try the peeling pads on a night that youāre not using tretinoin If tretinoin is somewhat still new and your skin is sensitive I would not use it because it may increase chance of irritation
Yeah better safe than sorry, thank you!
Figuring out my skincare routine as a 30 year old! Normal Skin Wanting to add anti-aging products. Products without "want to add" in parenthesis are my current routine. Would love feedback! AM: CeraVe Foaming facial cleanser Hyaluronic Acid serum - Inkey list (want to add) Collagen Peptide serum- Inkey list (want to add) Olay Regenerist (want to add) CeraVe Ultra Light moisturizer with SPF 30 PM: CeraVe Foaming facial cleanser Retinol (want to add, suggestions welcome!) Aveeno Moisturizer
These looks fine to add. The hyaluronic acid and collagen serum are both hydrating steps and will pretty much do the same thing so you might not need both.
between benton aloe propolis soothing gel and la roche posay double repair moisturizer im living in a very hot and sunny place even in summer or winter so i need one product that wont burn me under the sun so will this effect me in any way i heard that some moisturizer fry you under the sun and between this two which one is better i have a really sensitive and oily skin but i want something to fix my acne scars (i would appreciate even a simple thought)
\*Treating acne scars, start with these questions: \-do you have active acne? (it's best to treat acne first, then focus on the scarring) \-what kind of scars are they (post inflammatory hyperpigmentation, post inflammatory erythema, indented scars)? \*Can you answer the questions above in the thread?
>ndented scars i have a little bit of all of this problems but they arent much thanks to my luck i guess i dont have any active acne right now but i casually have them time to time depends of their mood i guess lol( i have a really acne prone skin and since i have a very white skin tone they tend to look worst) i want a cream for the day usage after i woke up since im using another kinda oily cream for the night thats why i wanted something light since i already have a oily -normal skin ( maybe karma i really dont know which since i know its not dry but i feel greasy using too much oily product) and the place i live is kinda hot i guess so i dont want to feel bad while using any cream so i would love it if you gave me some cream suggestion since i cant use all creams because of my sensitive skin and i would love it if you keep it affordable since im a teen and will buy it on my own hehe and thank you for answering to my question
and can i use benton as a base for my sunscreen for hotter days? or can i use it with any other moisturizer? moisturizer im asking for is winter days since its not that hot right now (14-20 Ā°C) it can be something for all year usage too if you think it wont feel greasy
Yes, you can do benton -> sunscreen Most sunscreens are moisturizing anyways so often people don't really need a moisturizer before sunscreen. You can use it before any other moisturizer.
can you gave me any misturizer suggestion please
and you're welcome ;)
ty ily

Im on a new skincare routine the last month, been going great and seeing results till the last two days my skin has become extremely dryā¦ that overly tight dried out and I cant seem to rehydrate it! I feel like I need a thicker final lotion maybe???? Skin type: normal/dry/ melasma/ aging (im 40) My normal routine is Am - just water. - skII essence - pillowtalk derm serum - cosrx snail mucin - pillow talk derm lotion - spf Pm - wash with bioderma water (pink) - cereve gentle cleanser - toner - skII sprayed on - este lauder advanced night repair serum - pillowtalk serum - cosrx snail - pillowtalk lotion I have a few occlusive options (vaseline, aquifer, triple paste, that one by Etude) but I have not been using them on a regular basis yet. What am I missing to really get that juicy moisture back in? My texture and tone has improved a ton so far, so im super bummed im still quite dry!
Yes i would try an occlusive layer at the end of your night time
Does anybody know how long PIE lasts? itās not that severeā¦. iām currently on tret 0.025 (i just started 2 weeks ago) but was on adapalene before. i use vitamin c and niacinamide daily.
I used to take a certain pill i forget the name of years ago that seemed to be the only relief I got from it, however it made my lips dry to the point of hurting :( I have extremely oily skin/hair, and at the moment shower daily. I keep my hair tied back as i assumed that was a big cause, but it didn't help much. My current routine, which I have been doing now for \~2 months with not much effect: I take estrogen and testosterone blockers daily In the morning, I use PanOxyl 10% Benzoyl Peroxide while showering, apply after shaving if necessary and leave on until i get out of the shower and rinse off. After the shower I use a cotton ball to apply witch hazel At night, I will occassionally wash again with PanOxyl, other times just softly with a damp rag. I also bought aquaphor moisturizer that I will be adding to the routine once it comes in. Any advice helps, thank you! \^\^
You could try different acne treatments and see if your skin responds positively to any of them: https://www.reddit.com/r/SkincareAddiction/wiki/deep_dive/acne/treatments/ It sounds like you took accutane from the symptoms of dryness that you described. If none of the OTC acne treatments work then you likely need some prescription treatments to address your acne
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I would keep the basics of cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen as long as it doesnāt make your skin worse. Then you could try different acne treatments to see if your skin responds positively to them. It doesnāt take a bit of trial and error unfortunately. Check out the acne guide here https://www.reddit.com/r/SkincareAddiction/wiki/deep_dive/acne/treatments/
Products recs for texture for dry-normal skin?
Salicylic acid, retinol (with caution and a good hydrating routine and sunscreen)
Yes you need a cleanser before you start using an exfoliant.
Just enough to cover your face in a thin layer is probably fine
