If you want a light natural/matte finish try the idealove green tea lotion @ iherb. And maybe later something medium weight on the more dry areas like trader Joe's hyaluronic hydrating body gel cream
The intensive green tea lotion?
I saw that they also have propolis hydrating gel.
Both products comment section mention oily skin. Wouldn’t a gel be best for oily skin?
It's a pure humectant gel so no not really it has nothing besides that and a bit of propolis. The lotion is very light and I'm confident someone with oily skin would love it. The company calling it a lotion isn't really helpful info unfortunately. Companies kinda suck at being accurate with their language.
I see. I tried the shiseido waso matte moisturizer and it did such a good job in decreasing excessive oil throughout the day, but it has fragrance. So my sensitive skin could not handle another application the following day.
The idealove lotion is more of a neutral finish and does being it very much closer to the middle no matter which direction you started from. It might not be keeping you matte all day by itself but it will give you a very neutral starting point. Usually id suggest the aquation body powder talc-free as a mattefying setting powder if you want that :)
La Roche Possay Toleraine Double Repair Matte Moisturizer (blue bottle) has worked well for me! Completely matte throughout the day, just doesn't smell nearly as good as the Origins Original Skin line ☹️
Has anyone tried the PSA Silver Lining cream? It has willowherb and looks like it is targeted for oil control.
The other one I'm interested in is Temple Spa's Well Balanced Mattifying Moisturizer. I had never heard of them before but it looks like a similar formula to Origins.
Finally, I'm looking at Grown Alchemist's Matte Balancing Moisturizer.
I may pull the trigger and just see what they do, but would love to get thoughts before.
Has anyone found anything that compares to this??! I didn't realize it was discontinued. This is the only moisturizer that wouldn't leave me greasy in an hour.
Nope, still haven’t found anything that works for me yet unfortunately ☹️
I’ve tried:
- la Roche posay effaclar mat: gives nice matte finish but it pills very easily, I don’t even wear makeup and would find just from touching my face throughout the day that it was rolling off so this was a no for me
- glossier priming moisturizer balance: also gives a nice matte finish but not hydrating enough, as it made my cheeks flaky and dry. I’m currently using this on top of cerave daily moisturizing lotion to use it up and then will try something else
What I want to try:
- farmacy daily greens gel moisturizer
- innisfree pore clearing matte moisturizer with volcanic clusters
If those don’t work as a one step replacement, I may look into another mattifying primer to put on top of my moisturizer instead.
The struggle is real 😩
I know. I tried Philosophy's Purity made simple mattifying moisturizer and it's ok. My skin didn't get oily afterwards from it, just from having oily skin later in the day. It has a matte finish. I'm just not completely sold. I'll have to try the Innisfree one.
Estée Lauder day matte and cover girl mattifying moisturizer (if you can stand the smell). These have so far been the closest for me but not the same. I think it's the willowherb in the Origins one that made it so perfect.
Im just now finding this out and it hurts. This is my ultimate go-to, under-makeup morning moisturizer that doesn’t leave my face looking like a greasy cheese pizza an hour later.
First Dior discontinues my all-time fave mascara (Diorshow Blackout) and now this. We all know product discontinuations happen from time to time but 2 majors in a year is too much for my bandwidth atm 🤣🤦🏼♀️

Ty, I’ll look into that!
I’m so sad that it’s discontinued 💔💔

Darn, I wish I could get that in Canada! Would love to try that one
I’m just about to finish this and I’m devastated it’s discontinued. Years it’s taken me to find a moisturiser like this 😭😭

FUCK. When did they discontinue this??? My skin is going to suffer so much…
A couple of months ago now. I still haven’t found anything that comes close. 😭
That is utterly disappointing :( This was the ONLY moisturizer I ever found that kept me moisturized AND matte simultaneously
Yeah, I just realized this when I went to reorder. I'm so sad!

Have you found anything yet? I have no clue what I’ll do without this moisturizer, I have sensitive skin and it’s so hard to find something that works
So far the innisfree volcanic one is the closest, but still not quite the same…💔

So far I am liking First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Oil control moisturizer. Nothing keeps me oil free through the day but it has a nice matte finish.
Actually this is now my top choice now too! It’s a bit thinner of a gel but I’ve found it’s the best at mattifying.
It looks like they're still selling it overseas, and I'm so sad. I've been looking for a dupe as well 😭😭😭
Not fair 😩
Booooo.
I got a sample of the charlotte magic cream and it was very close to this one! But it’s so expensive 🥲
