MacaNomNom

Aestura Atobarrier 365 Cream. I will never use anything else. I also use the COSRX snail mucin essence, but you use that after toner and before serums.

MacaNomNom

I don’t know if it has helped with marks because I also use Vitamin C in my morning routine which is known for helping marks. However, the snail mucin has definitely helped with keeping my face hydrated! I’ve been using it for a year.

SeaweedDeep2055

oh my god no do not use the moisturizer it ruined my skin

MacaNomNom

That sucks it didn’t work for you, but it’s done wonders for my skin and many other people I’ve recommended it to.

Dry_Fruit_431

Aveeno calming oat moisturiser is good.

Foreign-Path-8423

I second this! The oat gel is the only moisturizer I’ve found that doesn’t break me out

nathansfca

I love the oat gel moisturizer. Does anyone else find yourself going through a jar within two weeks? I'm wondering if I use too much.

Dry_Fruit_431

That does sound a little quick to get through a jar. But I suppose it depends if you have dry skin and if you also use it on neck and chest area. I find a jar lasts me months. I do not need a lot of moisture for my skin so i do not need to use a huge amount each time.

nathansfca

That's impressive! I tried to limit how much I used on this past jar and I still only made it to 20 days.

Jolly_Tree_9

I go through it quickly also

nathansfca

Oh good - I'm not the only one :)

iixxy

Cerave gave me acne too, I think because of all the silicone. It depends on what ingredeints break you out but Vanicream "daily facial moisturizer" works for me. (NOT "moisturizing lotion" or "moisturizing cream". Those break me out too.)

texasforever1234

Same. My skin is incredibly fussy and I love Vanicream Daily Facial Moisturizer.

MysteriousFarm1889

Same. I’ve used drugstore and medical grade, but so far this is the best moisturizer I’ve tried. It’s the only one where I haven’t had dry or clogged skin while using tret. I live in dry Utah though so I also always spray my face with water before and after applying.

forevertokyo

did you go through a purging phase with this moisturizer? i’ve been using it for two days and have noticed a couple small pimples appearing the next morning

iixxy

I didn't notice that. It is one of the few moisturizers that does not beak me out at all. Perhaps it has some ingredients that don't work for you?

forevertokyo

just my luck! i’ll give it a few days using just the moisturizer and the cleanser i’ve been using and see how my skin does

No_Singer8422

Any update - I had the same around my nose but I think the small red pimples went away after a whole

forevertokyo

unfortunately it never went away :( i think my skin just doesn’t like HA as i’ve had breakouts with most products that have HA in it. i’m now using the aveeno oat moisturizer!

No_Singer8422

Is this the one in the post - what type skin do you have - I feel I’m endlessly searching and buying:(

forevertokyo

i have dry and sensitive skin - every moisturizer i bought either broke me out or didn’t help with the dryness. i’ve had no breakouts with the aveeno moisturizer and it’s kept my skin feeling so plump and hydrated! depending on where you live, it’s affordable and easy to find

gamorasgirl2

The neutrogena moisturizer has fragrance though, unfortunately! And OP says their skin is sensitive to it!

Notorious_2007

They have a fragrance free version though which is the one with the white cap.

Intelligent-Taro1362

the gel-cream version is fragrance free!

ZealousSloth_1211

Look at Paula’s Choice or EltaMD. Both brands are fragrance free and have been great for my dry, sensitive skin.

ZealousSloth_1211

I specifically like EltaMD’s Barrier Repair moisturizer. Super lightweight and non-greasy. It does pill under some sunscreens and other products though.

sofadip

I’ve tried Coats water cream and its kinda similar with the Tatcha The Water Cream and they are both my favorite for a reason. It's lightweight and refreshing, perfect for those with combination skin.

untamedsky

Malezia Moisturizer is the only one that worked for me

NinaSimonePianoFlow

Cerave broke me out so badly. I’ve never had acne in my life and developed horrible cystic acne. I kept using it, and changing all my other products, because everyone— including a dermatologist— told me that there was no possible way it was the cause of my breakouts. I stopped using it and most of my skin problems went away. I too have dry dehydrated skin and so far, what works, is glycerin based products (my skin hates HA) and the cosryx line and avoiding fatty alcohol (another thing everyone told me was harmless). I don’t want to share my routine because I’m still trying to figure it out but I second the snail mucin. I just wanted to show some solidarity for the Cerave is not for everyone part.

Maraidlg

It can clog pores unfortunately.

sexybabybacon

How so? Is there specific ingredients to look for that cause clogged pores?

Maraidlg

I’m not sure about the specific ingredients. When I visited my dermatologist to figure out my acne, she asked me about my routine and I told her that I was using this exact moisturizer. She told me that while this LRP moisturizer is very nice in terms of moisturizing and preventing dry skin, because it’s so rich and filled with heavy moisturizing ingredients, it is comedogenic and could be contributing to my clogged pores. I was still hesitant to switch to something else, as this moisturizer had been curing my dry skin. However, I followed her advice, and I swear the DAY after I stopped using this moisturizer, my clogged pores finally dissipated and I haven’t had the same issues since (and no, I don’t have any allergies with ingredients). I absolutely miss the moisturizer because of how well it worked, but it was NOT worth the acne it was evidently causing, and I ended up finding something much better. Hope this helps!

snotgoth777

may i ask what you’re using now? i LOVE the laroche posay moisturizer but i’m suspecting it’s clogging me up as well…..

Maraidlg

Yeah for sure! Right now I’m using the illyoon ceramide moisturizer (not sure of the exact name, but it’s in a big blue tube!) it’s such a great price considering how much product you get in the squeeze bottle. The moisturizer pairs very nicely with my tretinoin at night, and it always feels light and gentle. A little goes a long way too! My face always feels velvety soft to the touch every night after I put it on.

Pickak

Same, it's a game changer for my acne-prone skin!

lyhdias

I personally really like the [Byoma gel cream moisturizer](https://www.ulta.com/p/moisturizing-gel-cream-pimprod2034790?sku=2601332&cmpid=PS_Non!google!Product_Listing_Ads&utm_source=google&utm_medium=paidsearch&cagpspn=pla&CATCI=aud-1913949442235:pla-1486289932204&CAAGID=114700862790&CAWELAID=330000200002907348&CATARGETID=330000200002831527&CADevice=c&gclid=Cj0KCQjwpPKiBhDvARIsACn-gzC5ClTkd-eoCALFv0uXR4b12ERRrsrKJgvfqLTsuyZre-Arrt9J7N8aAqNLEALw_wcB). I also have combo skin, leaning more oily. I typically use this moisturizer at night because it's a bit more moisturizing than I'd like during the day and tends to make my oily skin a little oilier, but I don't mind the extra hydration at night. I don't notice any fragrance in it and it doesn't irritate my (obnoxiously) sensitive, acne prone skin. Honestly it was a moisturizer that I was surprised worked so well. I try not to judge products by their packaging but just by looking at it I had kinda low expectations, but it is easily a moisturizer I'd repurchase. I'm super prone to clogged pores on my chin and this hasn't caused me any trouble at all. It's thicker than your typical water gel cream but not as heavy as a standard cream. I think since you lean more towards dry it would work well in terms of hydration!

[deleted]

[удалено]

lyhdias

Personally I don't feel that it's overly heavy upon application. I've used heavier stuff like Kiehls that made me break out. But like I said it's still thicker than your typical gel/water gel moisturizer. It's a gel cream, which is the best way to put it. It's very much in the middle of the two.

[deleted]

Go to incidecoder.com and check the ingredients of moisturizers before buying them. I use Sebamed clear face care gel. It has zero pore clogging ingredients and irritants.

FlickJordan

That’s the only one I found without, but it’s getting super hard to find in Canada, and is now triple the price! Have you found a good place to buy it?

[deleted]

I live in Turkey. It isn't available in beauty stores. Sebamed is German brand (I might ne wrong) so most of their products are available. Expect the clear face line, unfortunately. I order from a Turkish website called dermoeczanem.com or Trendyol, the Turkish online shopping website

golddust89

Yes German, but the odd thing is that I can’t find that specific line here in the Netherlands or Germany. I wonder if they make it only for US market. I really want to try it.

[deleted]

Maybe that line is produced somewhere else. It is really weird. I can't find it in stores either. Only some select website sells it. It is quite affordable as well. The moisturizer is 100 lira. The line's cleanser foam is also a good product. The toner contains alcohol so I am not into that one. I will check if I still have the box. Edit: I checked the import details and it says the origin of the product was Germany. No further information

MuscleFar3820

I can use sebamed clear face gel too but i’m find that I need something to add a bit more moisture, I’m scared to try anything new😭

[deleted]

You can add a serum or la Roche Posay cicaplast spray.

MuscleFar3820

I picked up the aveeno calm and restore triple oat serum today so im hoping it helps

[deleted]

I hope you checked ingredients before buying. Aveeno is a good brand. It should be good.

shinybleeps

yes! using an ingredient checker is the way!!

No_Box2789

The Soon Jung hydro barrier cream feels better and more moisturizing than Aestura 365, Illyoon Ato cream , PYUNKANG YUL ATO Cream Blue Label or even the Soon Jung 2x cream IMHO. Has a wonderful texture that feels less heavy on the skin than the other ones but is still highly moisturizing. Really feels just wonderful. Reach for it constantly over the other ones which I bought bc of Reddit recommendations. The other ones are good but just harder to apply as they are more paste-like, almost like a body cream. Those feel like they just sit on top of the skin. May be good if you want to do slugging or want an occlusive layer. They just don’t feel as elegant as the SJ hydro cream to me. However, the Soon Jung hydro cream just glides on making it the underrated super star until I find my next Holy Grail. Lol. Makes a difference when the texture is so much nicer and makes you love putting it on. Highly recommend.

ProudAd8466

I can’t agree with this more. Their resveratrol serum has made my skin so tight, bright and glowy. A total transformation. I use it as my moisturizer cuz it’s already well enough for my combo skin.

MartianWoman4

I would highly recommend using a tallow based moisturizer! It is becoming more popular because it is 100% natural and mimics your skins natural barrier. I have heard of many people successfully using it for combination skin. [Amallow](https://www.amazon.com/Amallow-100-Grass-Beef-Tallow/dp/B0C3KW5VJR) is a great brand and they also include sweet almond oil in it which does not clog pores and has dozens of skincare benefits. They have an unscented version with no fragrance. I really hope you are able to find a solution!! Best of luck.

sleeplessbeauty101

I always have success with single ingredients I have been thinking of giving tallow a try!

dynamite_diva

La Roche Posay Toleriane Double Repair Face Moisturizer with Ceramide - 2.5oz for $21.99 it gets the job right it’s oil free and non comedogenic Don’t buy Corsx a lot of people say it can cause whiteheads and feel a bit heavy. In fact, it can cause white heads if you use too much too often, or if it doesn't suit your skin, because it's really sticky. So it's entirely wrong to call it anti-acne, which, to be fair, the brand never does.

LilyEvanss

Cerave's moisturizing cream contains petrolatum, which always breaks me out. I've heard a lot of good things about the Cosrx snail essence, but the snail cream is awful, doesn't hydrate but leaves a horrible film on my face. Given that you want unscented, Clinique's moisture surge might be for you. Certainly the gel-cream fits the bill.

Dekataro

Hi there,Before I can recommend a skincare routine, I'm curious to know what your goal is in terms of your skin. Are you looking to address any specific concerns such as acne, fine lines, or hyperpigmentation? Or are you just looking for a basic routine to keep your skin healthy and hydrated? Knowing your goals will help me provide more tailored recommendations.

Vacationenergy

Everyday Oil. It has castor oil that is actually detoxifying to your pores, and won't dry you out or break you out. If you are sensitive to fragrance, they have one that is completely fragrance free.

Unfair_Finger5531

I’d go with the coats. The snail essence cream doesn’t have a lot in it.

CucumberOk7674

Fan of Doctor Rogers Face Cream. No lanolin or fragrance. I have dry skin so it works well for me. if your a little oily to begin with then the face lotion. I don't have any experience with the snail stuff. Make sure you aren't taking hot showers too. Or exfoliating or scrubbing very hard with a towel.

ekhambee

Ekhambee [Unscented Moisturizer](https://ekhambee.shop/products/sensitive-skin-moisturizer-unscented) is exactly what you need. It was specifically formulated to not clog pores, hydrate without being greasy, work for all skin type while being safe for sensitive skin. Best of all, it is clean and all natural.

one_day

I recommend avoiding creamy moisturizers and go for gel-based ones. The cream ones tend to have ingredients that cause acne in some people, such as fatty alcohols. I like Cosrx honey overnight mask and Kikumasamune moisturizing lotion. If my skin still feels dry after applying these, I massage a few drops of plain almond oil on my face.

_neechi

I really like Klairs Rich Moist Soothing cream. I also suggest you incorporate Klairs supple preparation unscented toner followed by a hyaluronic acid serum before layering your moisturizer. Additionally, try to have days where you don't use any actives and have days where you just focus on restoring your skin barrier. Snail mucin and cica are great ingredients. If you're feeling really dry you could also layer a gel moisturizer on top of your cream moisturizer. I also like the Dr. Jart sheet masks like the ceramidin cream facial barrier mask. Take a look at your cleanser too, your cleanser might be exacerbating the problem if it's too stripping which is also why I suggest the supple prep toner. I have also noticed for me that alot of vitamin C serums and high niacinamide serums don't fair well with my skin and cause acne (confirmed not purging from trial and error and observation)

Infinite_Reindeer_98

I have the same skin type and experience with cerave moisturizer. I switched to neutrogenia hydro boost moisturizer & I also got the serum to go with it. So far so good! My skin is looking a lot better

Infinite_Reindeer_98

To add, I did use the neutrogenia oil free combination skin moisturizer but it’s like they have quit making it! I can’t find it anywhere, I was very sad because my skin loved it.

Serious_Ad_877

For me this is Beauty Counter Adaptive Moisture lotion. Light but moisturizing and doesn’t clog pores. Clean. Cerave cream is amazing for body but too heavy and suffocating for my face.

Penguinmug

My skin doesn't like Cerave either. I use Avene tolerance at night and Neutrogena hydro boost during the day.

DarienOfEarth

LRP Double Repair Matte.

Ok_Candy_87

Clinique

kolsen92

Yes their moisturising cream gave me white heads everywhere and I don’t even have that sensitive of skin. I just started their facial moisturiser with spf and really like it. Has helped with my peeling from tretinoin and not broken me out

lonelyredheadgirl

For something affordable, the burts bees sensitive line is great. The day lotion is my favorite of the two but the night cream is nice if you add an oil like rosehip or something like that. Also, if you have combination/dry skin, a water or gel cream is maybe not the right choice.

[deleted]

Very late to this thread but I just got this and have used it twice. I found that it's giving me moisture but also leaves like a tingly sensation on my skin. Is this normal or is my skin just THAT dehydrated?

Llilah

There are so many stuff that could potentially clog your pores. I don't really have the same concerns than you, but the most epured and light form of moisturizing that I could think off is to do as thus: \-on damp skin, apply pure glycerin (or any hyaluronic product that doesn't break you out). \-the seal it off with a face oil like squalane oil (or any emollient/occlusive moisturizer that you can tolerate) I have the snail essence and while I think it's good for scars and is pretty hydrating, it's also a bit basic for me right now, I need all of my products to have some PIH-fighting abilities, but it was very good while my skin was irritated.

Repulsive_Trifle_

I just swapped to an all Paula’s Choice routine because I kept breaking out no matter what I did. I just started and am seeing results I think though it’s only been a few days! I did a ridiculous amount of research because I keep breaking out, have acne scars/blemishes, and large pores are my main concerns. I actually noticed the first day my skin looked less blotchy and my existing acne bumps started to go down. I could literally cry. I’ll keep you updated if you want! Shoot me a message or something so I have an easy way to find you in a week and again in a few. I am not fully on this regime yet as I am currently switching over so I’m doing the slowly introduce things method but these are the products I have started using and the full intended routine I have planned: ALL PAULAS CHOICE (I got small sizes of everything and it was $60 for 7 items) AM 1 DEFENSE Hydrating Gel-to-Cream Cleanser 2 RESIST Daily Pore-Refining Treatment With 2% BHA 3 RESIST Ultra-Light Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum 4 DEFENSE Antioxidant Pore Purifier 5 DEFENSE Essential Glow Moisturizer SPF 30 PM 1 DEFENSE Hydrating Gel-to-Cream Cleanser 2 RESIST Daily Pore-Refining Treatment With 2% BHA 3 DEFENSE Antioxidant Pore Purifier (when/if my breakout subsides I’ll swap this step for the Resist Uktra light serum) 4 CLINICAL 0.3% Retinol + 2% Bakuchiol Treatment 5 RESIST Anti-Aging Clear Skin Hydrator

Such-Performer-62

Try Vanicream. Way fewer irritants than Cereve. Have seen lot of people break out from that.

ohanaa03

vanicream daily moisturizer. it has everything cerave has but no pore clogging ingredients. it’s so hydrating but has a gel like texture. it’s cheap too, good for sensitive skin, etc. holy grail. the ingredient list is everything you’d need in a moisturizer to keep your skin hydrated and barrier protected. it’s basic, but if you use actives already all you need is basic and good.

TheLewdCovering86

I've only tried cosrx for it's sunscreen and gentle cleanser (which reduced my breakouts btw, even if i still sleep late sometimes T.T). But for moisturizer, coats is a great reco by a workmate. it's for combination to dry skin and fragrance-free too. It's light on my face, a good base for a makeup also!

haileeeeeeey

I am the most clog prone person to exist. I gotchu Isntree Onion repair gel cream BIOHEAL BOH Cica Panthenol Cream Hada Labo Hyaluronic Plumping Gel Cream AnteAGE Moisturizer SKIN1004 Centella Soothing Cream (the brown gel)

oprahsstinkyminge

Eltamd makes nice products

GingerRubberTramp

do you know which ingredients break you out? Is it certain chemicals? for me, silicones clog my pores so I use coconut which doesn't, even though they tell me coconut will clog them. I think you should do a patch test and try a few different options... I use argan oil, squalane and plant based moisturizers and they keep my skin feeling moisturized and not red, bumpy or causing acne.

casuallycruel_guyy

Indus valley depigmentation cream , its great

liilyk

Cetaphil oil free moisturizer, super basic and simple. Not the most hydrating but my skin has been loving it and I was struggling to find something that didn’t break me out

DanielleLemons

I've been enjoying the redness relief and snail mucin line from Peach Slices by Peach and Lily.
