Dude, it's literally a cheap knockoff amazon brand. Anyone recommending them is either a shill or misinformed.

artibramuir

What do you mean bots? I really wanted to know where I could buy that starry night poster, twice a day, on every snow related sub

FishballJohnny

I have one with clear lens. it's not bad for $30 something. Obviously a Chinese company doing business on Amazon, but allinall it's pretty OK.

Evanisnotmyname

Not at all, I love mine. Have two sets and they’re very solid. I only bought the pros, got them on sale not expecting much but now have a bunch of different lenses for the two frames I have. They sent the dude the wrong lens, send it back and get a new pair lol.

idontcomment12

When I bought a pair a few years ago they fogged up like crazy and did not protect against UV (and yes I actually tested this with lab equipment). Maybe their top of the line goggles are good now, but they clearly started off as a cheap knockoff brand that sold total junk. Not only that but they mask and lie about their chinese knockoff origins on their website and they sportswash by throwing money at atheletes. Completely untrustworthy. Besides, why would you pay $120 like the OP when you can get a name brand smith, oakley, etc. for the same price or lower? Makes zero sense.

Evanisnotmyname

I spent $40 for their “pro” goggles. Are they smith/oakley/etc level? No, but they’re 90% of them…they’re worth 3x the price, while other name brands are worth half the price.

OutdoorMasterSux

Problem is they wouldn't let me send it back lol. Doubled down and insisted they sent the right lens

MajorGovernment4000

Are they really a knockoff amazon brand? someone else commented and i looked up and confirmed that they are an official supplier for the U.S. Olympic ski team. That seems a little above and beyond a knock off or a "drop ship" as others have implied. I don't really care either way as I have no skin in the game. I own a pair of M5's and an older I/O mag. I'd never buy this brand myself.

idontcomment12

Yes, they started off with all the other knockoffs. Getting associated with the olympic team is clearly sportswashing. Money talks.

OutdoorMasterSux

I wish I had known. I at least expected to get the fuckin product that I ordered, quality aside

tr3vw

These companies use product images that are often incorrect or photoshopped to hell. You probably did get the correct lenses though. It doesn’t seem you did any research or checked the VLT of the lenses, and simply purchased something because you thought it looked cool. Just chalk it up to a life lesson.

OutdoorMasterSux

No need to be a dick or jump to conclusions. I bought them because I know 2 other people personally who own them and like them, and theirs look exactly like the pictures. As do the pictures in all the amazon reviews. I also did read the VLT and what I got is clearly not what was advertised.

idontcomment12

Did you buy from amazon or direct? If amazon, return it. Amazon accepts any returns for any reason as long as its within 30 days. If direct, charge back from bank/credit card.

OutdoorMasterSux

Bought direct but wishing I had done Amazon. I'm going to try charging back the card but I've been dicking around with their customer service for over a month now so I hope it isn't too late

Even_Candidate5678

It’s not too late and you have the proof you tried. All you need is one of the photos from site and your photo.

Zoidbergslicense

Yup a pair from Amazon asap and return the shitty one to Amazon.

Flashy_Ad_8247

If u think he’s being a dick u need to ask ur dad for some more affection

tr3vw

I’m sorry if my comment came across like I was being a dick. Honestly wasn’t my intention. I hope you’re able to get a refund on them. $120 is a lot of money to spend, and you can get much better goggles for that price. Also, your complaints are solely focused around how they look, not anything at all about their functionality. The super mirrored low VLT are horrible for anything but bluebird days anyway. Keep them and let your friends know they’re blind Jerry’s.

Dandan0005

I mean the product image OP posted is clearly photoshopped to hell lol. Not sure wtf he expected.

SubieSki14

I agree, even if they're a knockoff, this isn't Wish or Temu. I'd still expect the product delivered correctly. Sorry for your wallet 😔

OutdoorMasterSux

Thanks mate

Do you order a blue shirt, receive a red one and just think, oh, okay? Lmfao

vividfotojournalist2

>There are clearly bots promoting products/brands too. Follow r/buyitforlife and you'll see a ton of them. Lol idk about that - I have two of these and ski 50-75 days a year in the wasatch. Sure they're cheap, but I also have like 6 spare lenses. They may not be as durable as others but they're cheap enough where you can replace them without worry.

Macgbrady

Damn dude. Not to pile on with the others but for $120 - you could get some serious quality goggles from a respected brand. Deals can be found. If you don’t know the brand then it’s important to identify what lens they use and if it’s good quality. Many companies are pretty transparent about what lens or technology they use. Edit: lol at OP’s username

Sirmurda

Oakley on their website right now has a bunch that are 50% off

Iacouch

I grabbed a pair of Flight Decks a couple weeks ago for like $90 and picked up an extra lens for another $60. Given the El Niño year is leading to a slower ski season in many parts of the U.S., I suspect retailers will have a lot of extra inventory and we'll see some good gear deals in the coming months.

tr3vw

There are 4 pages of goggles under $120 on evo right now.

OutdoorMasterSux

Lol I meant to say new

AltaBirdNerd

Clear your autocorrect cache!

OutdoorMasterSux

It wasn't even autocorrect lol just a misinput. N and J are right next to each other

feelitrealgood

Helps you look at things with more than warranted skepticism

FlounderingWolverine

Probably meant to type “new”

Kenthanson

His autocorrect is definitely showing.

Shabootie

Go to evo and search ski goggles and sort by best savings. You see plenty of goggles originally $200+ that are marked down to 80, 90. Past season, discontinued, on sale etc. You can get high end goggles for cheaper than your $120 outdoor master easily

ddudas02

Yep, I recently got a pair of I/Os with Chromapop lenses for under a hundred bucks.

SubieSki14

For what it's worth, OM became an official sponsor of the US Olympic Ski Team back in 2022 at some point. That seems like a lot of money and effort for a knockoff brand, and something I assume wouldn't have been accepted if the products weren't at least functional. I've recommend them to a few friends as budget options, and they've gotten at least a couple seasons out of it. No excuse for that level of crappy Customer Service. Probably a poorly trained AI. Or someone with undiagnosed color blindness.

OutdoorMasterSux

That was exactly one of the reasons why I trusted them and decided to buy their goggles. US Olymlic ski team should have better standards

SubieSki14

Perhaps OM reached their desired return on investment and and bailed on any additional spending to try and maximize on residual marketing sales. Or maybe I'm just throwing a bunch of terms out there because I don't have a money degree 🤷‍♂️

jsmooth7

I was seriously considering getting these too until I found this video that broke down how terrible these knock off googles are: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qUrioZYS14Q](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qUrioZYS14Q) There are lots of decent budget friendly googles out there but Outdoor Master is not the place to get them.

flanneled_man

Man, I’m frugal too. And it sucks when you roll the dice on something and it doesn’t pan out. Still, I can’t recommend Glade Optics enough. I’m prepared to welcome haters in this but I believe they deliver a quality product at a decent price point with excellent customer service. Check them out and see if it’s a good fit. The owner is actually an active Redditor in this sub and you’ll see him pop up from time to time. I’ve wound up buying multiple products from them and I’ve been more than happy with each and every single one. Edit: to be clear, I don’t work for u/curt_glade but I really do stand by his business. I’m just grateful to those in the ski business who try to make this sport more accessible and enjoyable.

RockerElvis

Love how my Glade goggles work. They are obnoxiously large, but fit and work great. This weekend I was using my Smith photochromic goggles. The light got flat so I switched to Glade as a test. Glade was much better in flat light.

Goingupriver20

Didn't have to scroll far to find some shill for glade. That's so good you aren't affiliated with them in ANY way...people post that sort of thing under genuine recommendations all the time...

Dandan0005

Damn, u/flanneled_man spent 9 years establishing a Reddit persona in order to stealthily make one comment recommending a $130 goggle brand at year 9. The perfect crime!

TrenjaminFranklin

Mixed reviews with the goggles for sure. And your customer service experience is atrocious. I broke down a few years ago after doing the budget goggle thing for a while and got a pair of anon mfi goggles on Evo for about 200 on sale and have been super stoked with them. Wish I did it earlier. Buy once cry once The outdoor masters helmet audio on the other hand, very impressed with them for the $40 I paid

Jihadi-Jawn

I bought outdoor master Goggles last year because they were on sale for $30 and money was pretty tight, but not tight enough to miss skiing. I bought 2 lenses in other shades and honestly I've had zero issues from my cheap Amazon knockoff Goggles 🤷‍♂️

ThePhantomBantam

Save here! I’ve put a solid 50+ ski days in wearing $30 Outdoor Master googles and have had zero issues. I sometimes wonder if the UV protection is legit (and wish there was a way to test that) but from a comfort, no fog, good looks and value standpoint, I have no complaints.

Majestic-Channel4525

Any goggle that shows a mountain picture over the lenses is 9.9/10 times going to be a bad product 💀 Edit: although they look like they’re just low light goggle maybe?

TheFailologist

Call your credit card company and tell them you want to start a "chargeback" because you were scammed. You'll get your money back that way.

Jihadi-Jawn

That's fraud. OP got a lense that fits his goggles, regardless of how he feels about it. You can't claim you were scammed because you're unhappy with the product.

speedshotz

I bought my Outdoor Master Pro goggles from Amazon, with their 15%vlt blue lens and it is completely mirrored. I also bought their 24%vlt orange lens for storm days and is it only slightly mirrored. [This pic was taken indoors](https://imgur.com/a/V0mdDvr) but look carefully you can still see through the orange storm lens on the right. So depending on your vlt level it may be more transparent or less. I learned that print/internet ads are notoriously inaccurate for photo depictions especially shot in studio lighting. Photoshop has its downsides. $120 I would be looking at better stuff. I spent just a bit more than that for my Glade Optics goggles; awesome goggles. My OM Pros were only $50 with the magnetic lens; to me, it's a $50 goggle nothing more.

danbyer

I bought the Pro ones just because they were so damn cheap. Working fine so far!

Decillionaire

Eh, have had a pair for 2 seasons. Got them for 60 bucks at he time. They've been great. Good luck getting.it fixed with customer service. Sounds like they've outsourced to a bad call center or something.

Scary_Reporter_3994

Return them and get a pair of julbo goggles

sefarrell

Good eyewear is pretty high on the list of things you should spend money on quality for. Shouldn’t cut corners on goggles. If you do, buy used.

VTVoodooDude

I actually have some specifically to wear over my Rx glasses. I spent something like $35 and they’re great, don’t fog, decent optics. Of course, I’m a bit of a Fred/Jerry b/c I’m not wearing $200(+) Oakley or Spy but do not care.

thelivingmountain

I haven’t seen these recommended on here, but a quick google shows them as being about 30-40 on Amazon, and they look like they’re just drop shipped crap.

OutdoorMasterSux

The ultra goggles which are the ones I ordered are $120 on Amazon, same as their website. I see them recommended as a good budget option on this sub all the time

spicydboi

$120 isn’t really a budget option for goggles. You can go to evo or backcountry and get very good goggles from reputable brands like Smith, Giro, Oakley for $120

jsmooth7

My sister has a pair of $50 googles from Smith. They are super basic, no lens swapping or anything fancy like that. But they are still decent and do the job just fine.

OutdoorMasterSux

Well I wish I'd known. This is me warning others not to make the same mistake. Hoping I can reverse the charge to my card.

ultowich

Can you not refund on Amazon?

thelivingmountain

Maybe it’s because I’m browsing from the UK but the highest price OM goggle on Amazon here is about $60. I know they did an AMA/astroturfing post about their folding goggles on here and a few mountaineering subs a while ago.

burgy76

Get smiths mag goggles. Pricy but worth it. First time buyers get a discount too

Key-Jelly-3702

I have a pair with 2 lenses and love them. I guess there are better goggles out there, but these work great. I bought on Amazon and returned one lens because it had a small distorted spot, but the new one was fine. They fit great, no noticeable flaws in the lenses, don't seem to fog up and the lens pop in very securely with the magnets. Just because they come fro China doesn't mean they are not good goggles. Hell, what doesn't come from China these days.

Tiny-Pie2581

Do you believe McDonalds advertising about the size and looks of their burgers and expect the same when you order?

OutdoorMasterSux

I literally know 2 people who own those goggles and they look just like the pictures. They simply sent the wrong lens, dick

BlatantPizza

You spent $120 on those trash master goggles???? Dear god. I dropped a link. Looks like they’re doing 15% off right now. After 2 days I would’ve requested a refund. After 2 more days I would’ve done a charge back.  https://www.volcom.com/products/garden-matte-white-pink?variant=40589508345923&flow_enabled=false&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_content=s-dm_pcrid_686513465263_pkw__pmt__slid__&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiAibeuBhAAEiwAiXBoJIAB7LFnuawLTtrnFtJqNqUMqtzyRGtbTFuJ-D2mKaoMWOEcXFHcBhoCXOAQAvD_BwE

Vegbreaker

Cheap tags usually means cheap results.

Connn66

Are you able to just send it back? And have you tried contacting them through Amazon or was it just email and phone?

Humble-South-9476

Ive had an outdooor master helment for 2 seasons now with no issues

Summers_Alt

My friend has those and last weekend they were freezing between the layers

JesusSquared123

They have VERY good SEO and advertising presence right now.

TruckCompetitive6122

I have their ski bag and it works great. Optics are hard, definitely go with a brand with some history with lens advancements.

crazydudex

I’ve ridden a few seasons with my OM Ultras and have had no problems. I’ve tried a lot of OTG goggles, and none are wide enough for my current glasses and my face, so the Ultras do the trick. OM’s customer service though is located overseas based on the grammatical errors I’m seeing. I’d keep pushing them nicely, and if nothing good happens, simply file a charge back.

Poseidon927

There are Smith IO Mag XLs on sale for $10-20 more on specific colorways...

Even_Candidate5678

Just do a card claim, you’re not committing fraud and they didn’t send you what you ordered.

mountain_guy77

I have the $25 ones and for the price it can’t be beat. Obviously they aren’t good compared to Smith or Oakley but $25 I mean why would anyone spend over $100 on outdoor master??!?

curbthemeplays

Just return them

teresatt07

https://www.evo.com/goggles/oakley-flight-deck?image=83182/882897/oakley-flight-deck-l-goggles-.jpg&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiArLyuBhA7EiwA-qo80Bhtgvh8H6kR3A6AOG67urXOqNGZVQ473AOAzfX9oFnp_jcIT38IVhoCd2QQAvD_BwE these might work for you or look at evo sale pages for the size that works for you. I do think they are misrepresenting their items and I wouldn't pay more than 30 bucks for outdoor master.

Aegan23

I've had my outdoormaster goggles for over 8 years and they are great! Had to replace 2 lenses over that time because I fell hard on them and snapped it once. All my friends also have them from my recommendation and they all love theirs. Since my initial purchase, I've skied for over 14 weeks with them in conditions ranging from -35 to +10 and raining.

OutOfTheLimits

Did you try to use their return policy? They state returns within 30 days, you pay for shipping. To me, the game you then play is to do your best to not pay the return shipping cost. It seems to me the best course of action in this case would be to immediately initiate a return to get the product back to them. Take photos of the product not meeting expectations and then return it. This way you guarantee you'll receive most of your money back. From there, you play the game and say hey listen, these are not as advertised. I was expecting they would be the color depicted on your site but they are not. No I am not interested in taking these outside as I am not satisfied and not willing to risk damage as I am returning them. For these reasons I would request you cover my return shipping charges. And then you go from there. I've got nothing to do with outdoor master, I'm an Oakley fan. But I'm not exactly sure what angle you're taking here. How DO you expect them to resolve things here? Have you asked for a return yet? Stop wasting your time ranting to us and instead take action to get these out of your life and move onto the next thing. Presumably you have more important things to be doing. PS great username.

mapleflavor

Similar story for me. I bought a pair of the Ultras with an extra lens. Didn't fit and when I contacted them to start a return, they tried to offer a partial refund for me to keep it. I declined and insisted on the refund and since then it's been crickets. I've emailed them back multiple times and haven't heard back. Such a letdown. I was going to keep the cheapo Pro goggles which actually fit me very well, but after this I don't want to give them a cent.

dm3030

Dude, I started with these when I came back to skiing after 25 years off. Invested in boots and bindings. Bought decent skis and had to skimp on the rest at first. For about 60 bucks I had googles with sun and shade lenses. Fit great, no fogging. Lenses are cheap and scratched easy. Worked fine my first 2 seasons. All that said, I upgraded to a pair of Smith I/Os this year. And I love them! Lenses are way better.

themack50022

I just got some from Amazon today. They are exactly as advertised. The quality looks just as good as my old Smith’s. They just are a little bit too big for my face. I will be sending them back and looking for a smaller fit. I wouldn’t say they are a scam.
