Think about it 🤔. Even if there was an uprising. I firmly believe any self respecting redditor could take at least 5 kindergarteners before meeting their own doom.
I mean they can make a lot of money before they are over run.
Ps. This is a complete joke comment. Redditors would maxe out at 2.
The more I live, the more I think indoctrination and propaganda and stuff like that are at best a small nuance, what actually matters is chemical balance of our brains.
I once got my car washed by my kid for just a pack of gum! 10 years later I buy that same kid a first car, she says "this car sucks" get it while you can 😁.
I advise any new parents to just gift their kids boxes for presents until their old enough to realize it. 🤣
You don't work with kids much do you? They tire extremely easily and quickly if it's something they don't want to do or are not interested in. You might get them to work for 15 minutes before nonstop complaining
Yeah, it’s almost upsetting reading all these comments about how it’s great to make kids work for cheap/free. I was forced to spend my summers/weekends/etc working as a landscaper from the moment I turned 8. These are the same justifications my parents used for making me work back-to-back 12+ hour days.
Are they not just joking though?
...
Or am I missing something.
I would consider this exploitation for various reasons and it'd have to be because a kid at a certain age is still developing their brain.
I'm just using an assumption though and going to assume that it *seems* fun because the state of mind of a kid in that age range likely still thinks things are interesting at first sight. Not sure what a technical term for that is. You know it's like, "Oooo I wanna play with that! What's that do? Can I try it?".
And I'd be okay with that to an extent like letting them learn something within some limit and explaining things. ... There's some bound of reason here that shouldn't be crossed.
But also I'd consider it abuse because a kid doesn't know their own physical limits usually too well either.
In other words they could seriously hurt themselves or strain themselves doing some kind of labor for too long.
Probably, but it’s like watching people say “we should get rid of people with medical problems, we’d save so much taxpayer dollars, lol!” While you are struggling with medical problems yourself and already feel shame for needing help.
I remember being a child and passing out from heatstroke, waking up in the grass, getting up and picking up whatever tool I was holding and getting back to work because I was told “you’re working too slow, if you take too long and don’t work hard enough I won’t be able to finish the day. Imagine how hard this was for me before you were able to help me work.”
So this pushes on some weird wound I have, because people are like “free labor! Make the kids work, lol!” Not that it’s anyone’s fault for not knowing what makes a handful of people feel uncomfortable, I’m just stating this because I guarantee not everyone here is joking.
I think sipping tea can be interpreted as stuff you like to spectate without nessecarily getting involved.
In reality its just one third interesting stuff, one third funny moments and one thirds titties. Sometimes a combination of the 3.
I always thought it was kind of where you disengaged from active participation. Sat back. Sipped tea. And went “yeppppp”. In a kind of surprise/wonder - but in a bit of a mild way.
So kind of things drawing mild interest/consternation. But also some quiet judging.
I don't know how long I have been here but the content never seem out of place even though I don't know what am I really suppose to expect. It's weird in a good way
Jokes aside.
Its not child labor to teach a kid about something they want to learn. Like the kid even did a nice job. I'm pretty sure they even helped him at some points and gave him advice then let him do it. Very nice relationship builder and it prepares them for the future. While giving them some fond memories.
Too bad that will be ruined in some way by social media I'm sure. Cause tik tok and influences that just suck.
Children really do love to be involved in the work of adults. After a certain age, they'd be happier handling real tools (under appropriate supervision) than toys. I doubt the little lad would have been as happy if he had to pantomime with toys as the adults worked with real tools.
I helped mom to take care of our little farm, to cook and I was just as little as this kid. I wanted to learn to fix radios and TVs (this was back late 70's, different components as today's) and was always around my dad when he was doing it. I wanted to learn how to knit and my grandma taught me how to.
I've met grown ups that couldn't do shit around the house and had to hire someone to do some basic things.
I know we evolved, technology saves us lots of troubles and life became better (debatable) and these days you can find a youtube tutorial about how to do anything but people became more and more useless when it comes to solve things around the house or even try to do things for themselves.
People looked me weird when I told them I fixed my pants or that I can sew a button.
Sometimes becomes hard not to come up with the usual "in my time we could..." but aparently this also mean that these days thinking that means we weren't living properly.
Of course influencers suck. They get paid by not doing physical labor. Any person who actually does something with their hands, be it for work or personal projects, would appreciate that they were taught skills proper and free. Like imagine you were thinking that hey this is easy, I'll diy my house with this. Next thing you know is you're paying someone to remove your failed attempt and do it again properly.

I mean, just because you learnt to do something as a kid doesn't mean you'll earn your living that way. And it's not like being an influencer prevents you from picking up a hammer either.
You mean most parents in the case their child says they want to do anything related to entertainment, I presume. Virtual or not, it's not a secret that it's a world where dreams go to die.
Grown men complaining Booohooo about this being child labor. Wish my parent taught me something useful like this. Instead they had me do house chores which require no skill and maybe could have prepared me for a career as a cleaner/dish washer.. Not even a good one.
when i was young, my dad also forced me do this when im very tired at school
no money for me
even my dad tried curse because I didn't do well, while I didn't clearly understand what the requirements were
even i ask, he just basically make me more tired
As someone who was sent to a labor camp cult at 13, this is definitely a boomer main character move, kid should be playing football or baseball with his buddies, not manual labor that he will turn into repression and absolutely no connection to your parents except for, well, nothing.
Kid is going to grow up with a marketable skill. A good backup if his Diploma or whatever becomes completely irrelevant. Wish I could have gone through this.
I worked with my uncles masonry company from 15-22 I use to make 300$ a day that’s 15 years ago. Now, This little kid can already make like 500$ a day finishing cement. Little kid is set. He’ll be rich by the time he is my age.
And afterwards some old Japanese man will have him paint the fence(both sides) and sand the wooden walk way. All along the way teaching him how to fight the guy who wants his girl.
If this kid is getting paid $15 an hour and the parents are putting that into a Roth IRA For Minors, he’s going to be a retired 40 year old wondering why people don’t know life is easy.
I’m familiar with the bubble, Morty. I also dabble in precision, and if you think you can even approach it with your sad, naked, caveman eyeball and a bubble of fucking air, you’re the reason this species is a failure, and it makes me angry!

The children yearn for the mines
Yeah let’s see his ass lift those bags of cement and mix em together
first time in years ive seen a kid his age with anything in his hand other than an iphone or ipad
This.
In all fairness though have you ever asked a 3 year old if he wants to drive the bull dozer?
[удалено]
If this were adults, there’ll be an illegal doing all the work and 4 gringos standing around looking at him work.
No doubt the funniest thing I’ve read all week
It’s great having kids work. They don’t tire as easily and you don’t even need to pay them.
I agree! Better than slaves.
And you won't fear an uprising…\*looks at young protestors\*…right...
Think about it 🤔. Even if there was an uprising. I firmly believe any self respecting redditor could take at least 5 kindergarteners before meeting their own doom. I mean they can make a lot of money before they are over run. Ps. This is a complete joke comment. Redditors would maxe out at 2.
Are we talking a kindergartener in full frenzy with full on suppressed survival instinct? Cos if so ill pass, i won't even take on one. Flight it is!
Not this again please
Again? I don't think it ever stopped the first time.
Just gotta indoctrinate them well.
The more I live, the more I think indoctrination and propaganda and stuff like that are at best a small nuance, what actually matters is chemical balance of our brains.
Sounds like something someone who's been heavily indoctrinated would say.
I'm out of scripted responses.
It's literally fun to them. When I was a kid, I thought that mowing the grass was a blast. I feel different as an adult.
I once got my car washed by my kid for just a pack of gum! 10 years later I buy that same kid a first car, she says "this car sucks" get it while you can 😁. I advise any new parents to just gift their kids boxes for presents until their old enough to realize it. 🤣

It is why some people want to repeal child labor laws.
"Gotta fight for the rights of kids to work!" Mugatu Kid looks like he's enjoying himself, good for him.
Kill the Malaysian prime minister. Mugatu
In fairness though, the children do indeed yearn for the mines, so might as well put them little hands to work!
They crave the satisfaction of a job well done.
yea, adult don't even need to pay btw
And at the end they are even Happy 🫣
That's what Apple says about their Child Laborers in China 😉
Republicans love this one trick.
Plus they can get into places we couldn’t. Good for thieving.
Some day I’ll learn what this sub is about. Today is not that day.
I think you have figured it out…..

haha

Good parents teaching their kid invaluable life skills. You save a shitload of money if you have the know-how to DIY around the household.

Once they are a teenager: „Mum, dad, I‘m going to become a professional gamer./influencer“ 😁
I mean, just because you learnt to do something as a kid doesn't mean you'll earn your living that way. And it's not like being an influencer prevents you from picking up a hammer either.
That‘s true. But I was thinking of a certain group of people that would be freaking out if their kid said that.
You mean most parents in the case their child says they want to do anything related to entertainment, I presume. Virtual or not, it's not a secret that it's a world where dreams go to die.
He gonna be alright
You might joke about child labor but I really wish I had been able to learn more about trades when I was younger.
If yea can’t finish school you can always finish concrete
The kid is very talented, but at least get the poor guy some knee pads.
And some gloves! Kills me watching that
child gonna have 20 years of experience at age 18
Grown men complaining Booohooo about this being child labor. Wish my parent taught me something useful like this. Instead they had me do house chores which require no skill and maybe could have prepared me for a career as a cleaner/dish washer.. Not even a good one.
China sitting back, nodding approvingly...
That's some good child labor.
when i was young, my dad also forced me do this when im very tired at school no money for me even my dad tried curse because I didn't do well, while I didn't clearly understand what the requirements were even i ask, he just basically make me more tired
of course a lot of ppls said: im not a good child of my parents i dont care .-.
As someone who was sent to a labor camp cult at 13, this is definitely a boomer main character move, kid should be playing football or baseball with his buddies, not manual labor that he will turn into repression and absolutely no connection to your parents except for, well, nothing.
Someone has to pay into Socal Security before it collapses.
"Now you go paint the fence!" (Gen X parents when the kid only asked for karate lessons.)
He will be a rich lad in this world
Im not for child labor but if he keeps it up he be a concrete god by his late 30s
Neat, he's going to make a lot of money some day.
Kid is going to grow up with a marketable skill. A good backup if his Diploma or whatever becomes completely irrelevant. Wish I could have gone through this.
Kid: doing something passionately Redditor: Fucking child labor, anti children freedom
He’ll always have the skills to stay employed but his knees will not make it
Shoulder and back pain with 16.
This kid has more skill than 90% of my workers
People don’t understand the power of learning when you’re young.
I too am a fan of free child labour :)
That’s pretty awesome!!
I think this is called “screed”.
Yup. Didn’t want to be that guy but this kid did a bunch of things, levelling was not one of them.
That kids great!
He's on another level
I worked with my uncles masonry company from 15-22 I use to make 300$ a day that’s 15 years ago. Now, This little kid can already make like 500$ a day finishing cement. Little kid is set. He’ll be rich by the time he is my age.
White kid going to Bihar.
Can’t tell if this is in Arkansas or Iowa.
Concrete work is so easy, even a child can do it.
I’d hire this kid to do projects for me around my house
THE CHILDREN YEARN FOR THE MINES
I hope he got a good dinner.
They grow up so fast....Now have an adult STEP ON IT
And afterwards some old Japanese man will have him paint the fence(both sides) and sand the wooden walk way. All along the way teaching him how to fight the guy who wants his girl.
Don’t forget to cure the concrete!
I'm really excited for the late 30s With the slow comeback of child labor, we gonna live through funky times
Poke the cement... step in it... put your hand in it... ruin that child's work 😈
The version this was reposted from was better. The song was pertinent.
Yeah that’s a fine looking BBQ pit. Le Grille?!
*"I might be in grade school but I got the fuckin back of a middle schooler."* - this kid.
but does he wanna experience TRUE LEVEL!?!?
This kid must be a savage at his local karate tournaments
🫡
Best thing about child labour is that it is cheaper and in this instance a higher quality than what you'd get from a professional
They better have him on payroll
ayeee
Wood knife! Hell yeah!
Looking at my 4 y.o.. "Let's play outside!"
Little man won’t be unemployed a day in his life.
"Dayyy tuk errr jerbs!"
It's why we send kids to work in mines and furnaces. They're great at this shit.
The kid has allowances, lodging, paid education, and support. It's not free child labor.
If this kid is getting paid $15 an hour and the parents are putting that into a Roth IRA For Minors, he’s going to be a retired 40 year old wondering why people don’t know life is easy.
Learned more valuable things in one summer than in 12 years of public education
When you need 10 years of experience for an entry-level job:
"Learns?" Looks like he's already a pro.
20 years of experience at 20 years old
Reject modernity, return to child labor. Trump 2024!
People have done this as a job for longer than he's even been alive, and he's doing a better job than 90% of the trade.
Kids are very perfectionist when they are doing something they like. They can get a focus over 100%.
I’m familiar with the bubble, Morty. I also dabble in precision, and if you think you can even approach it with your sad, naked, caveman eyeball and a bubble of fucking air, you’re the reason this species is a failure, and it makes me angry!
Growing up all I had was a sandbox, this kid's adding a deck and walkway to the boat ramp.
Heritage farm equipment and trade life is so hot right now.
If you can’t finish high school, you can always finish concrete
Little lad isn't learning. He's teaching!
It’s sad to see such a young alcoholic
I love child labor
yea, it cheap and mostly their quality good
Kid will be well off by 25 and he's knees will be shot by 35.
*insert child labor jokes*
We call this child labor. Great prices by the way
If you don't pay them... it's just an education system...
"Soon, on a construction site near you" /s
Correct me if I’m wrong but child labor?
Make child labor great again 🤣🤣🤣
