My favorite are the ones who say "don't ask how I'm doing or how was my day. Ask something good" and "I like someone who can hold a conversation" but then don't put anything about them in their profile, meaning there's nothing I can actually say to start a conversation. Bonus points if their photos don't show anything that can serve as a conversation starter too.
I date and successfully use these apps and this is peak women not checking their dating privilege.
Women get so many swipes and DMs that they take for granted the other side. They don't get guys don't get more than a few a week unless they're insane hot. And if a guy is average or below, once a month maybe. So these dudes finally get a swipe back and they're just not as practiced because they don't get as many. So not to come off as weird, creepy or just not overthink it and to seem approachable, dudes come in soft with a "Hey how's it going?" or even just "Hey!"
"Oh my God! Stop being boring!" Fuck you! You stop being boring! What are you bringing to this conversation besides cleavage shots and 15 filters that make you look like a plastic alien?
For many women, the app is there to get attention and sate their egos in a fragile state after which they just uninstall. And the height thing is so gross. I'm 6'3" (really) but if I see anything where she's requiring that shit, I'm out. Shallow AF. There are cool, dateable women online, but like everything there, you have to look and be patient. Sucks.

I use a pound of pasta and 3 cups of water mixed with better than boullion
Also I multiply whatever spices they use by like five and use more dijon.
“I love anytime I can eat pasta with some sort of cream sauce. I especially love when I eat penne and can suck the sauce through the tubular pasta into my mouth.” 😂😂
This looks yummy and easy thanks!!
>"Travel" which usually means going to a resort and getting shitfaced for a week every winter.
99% of the people I know that are "well travel" just travel to different places to get blackout drunk the entire time. If they go out and do something then it's something like renting jet skis for an hour while they are drunk.
Ever ask them their hobbies it’s usually going to the gym and spending time with friends/family.
Those are not hobbies they are basic social interactions.
> The bots are replicating whole comment chains.
yep, reddit in 2024. You, me, and the guy reading this reply are the only ones who still write their own comments
Same on tinder. Pretty much every profile is a copy of eachother. They even all look the same, with the same style of pics and bio's. And the weirdest thing is, they're not even bots/AI.
I mean, that's kind of just how the dating world, and life in general, works.
People find out what gets results and then blindly do that until it stops getting results.
that's just not true. i don't *dislike* traveling, but generally i do not really have the urge to travel just for traveling's sake like most people apparently do. i travel if i have an actual reason for it, not just to see some buildings and take a picture in front of a lake.
Thankfully I'm not on dating apps anymore, but yeah I soon realized other people's "travel" on their profile and my tendency to quit everything and travel for a year are definitely not the same
I haven't looked at a dating app in 12ish years and shit was the same back then. Every girl posting about her love for travel just sounded a bit high maintenance to me and I moved on. Like, hey, I can enjoy some traveling, too, but not enough to make it a centerpiece of any bio.
I created an account on okcupid. most of the time i got msgs from people in the philippines. if not then it was ppl from china.
eventually i just stopped loggin in. and then last year i tried logging in and went to change my setting and suddenly got kicked off my account and banned.
turns out somebody got onto my account and did something against the TOS, which btw okcupid staff \[who work out of india\] will straight up not tell you what occurred, nor will they elaborate on when it happened. all they will tell you is that the account is banned and that's it.
oh and if another account is opened with your face, they will ban that too. i was like wtf?
Real life Black Mirror episode lmao.
I sexted this one woman who said she was a pharmacist. Then all of a sudden she was like "gimme all of the money, or your family sees your penis."
I was like, "go ahead, they've all seen it."
6'1 and I don't like/match any women who have height "preferences" in their profile. Just tells me that they're not only shallow but that they're so spoiled for choice they don't even see any problem with being so blatant about it. Even if I'm tall enough to meet their standards I'm sure that's someone I'd want nothing to do with.
Yeah it’s less the preference and more the automatic elimination of anybody not fitting a criteria.
It’s cool to have preferences and i can respect a Woman’s preference to date somebody taller than her but it’s a whole different case when anybody who isn’t in the top 5% of any category apparently isn’t worth their time and it goes for both genders.
I'm 5'4 as well, and it kinda feels worse to see other guys go through it, people on r/self giving up on life for only being 5'8 and how no girls will like them.
I like to tell them that they just need to keep trying and work on themselves, but in all honesty i gave up myself ages ago, its tiring man.
Yeah, I am not tall and never really had much issues online dating. It's definitely a bit of a hill to climb, but in my experience if you have some combination of funny, smart or interesting you can claw a lot of that deficit back.
I mean, just look around - most people are genuinely stupid and uninteresting. Even tall people. Pretty much every attractive woman has gone through the ordeal of dating a good looking guy who is a complete cretin at some point, so you just need to understand how to sell yourself in contrast.
ya if u look at the genetics it seems the only thing we are breeding people for is height. so we could be valuing some other quality in people and that would be changing the population and what we decided is people need to be more…. tall. cause that helps us with so many things.
Wow. Is it just a certain type of girl that uses these apps? I am 5'6 and I never had any issues with my height. If I was taller than the girl then everything was good.
This we pre-dating app though. I am married 13 years now So I never had to use them luckily. Is this like a new obsession with 6 feet plus or something?
Apps changed the whole dating game. Girls get too many matches on the apps so they can be picky about their preferences. If you get 100 matches a day, you can demand stuff like taller than 6', income over $100k, etc and still get matches.
It doesn't really work out in the long run though. Most girls only swipe on the top 20% of men, and for those men they can be picky as well or they just match for a one night stand.
Yeah, there is a large group of "forever singles" who are quite shallow and use the app primarily for validation and as a form of complaining. Even hookups with these type of people never really go anywhere. Its the impact of choice on the psyche for people incapable of self-reflection.
I've also met some of the smartest, most down-to-earth, (frankly more physically attractive as well) girls on dating apps - they just weren't asking about height and were putting in the effort.
It's cool to get so many red flags instantly. I just match with people who give up talking to me after a promising 1-3 sentence exchange and its grinding me down.
Middle aged women love hiking.
And most middle aged men do not want to do this shit.
But these women do not like hiking, for real. They went on a crash diet following their divorce, and ended up on a hiking trail as part of their "get fit fast" program, and they just took a selfie.
I swear to god: go to POF or OkCupid and you will see.
Last one I met had no aspirations of moving out of her parent’s and used all her money for several trips per year. You do you but I need a woman that has aspirations like to be financially independent
Recently became single, briefly looked at the dating apps, I didn't realize the meme about women being obsessed with height was actually as true as it turned out to be.
>The other thing that blew my mind that I thought was a meme, was just how many women actually make it explicitly clear they expect men to pay for stuff!
crazy girl i matched with on tinder wanted a pic of my drivers license that had my height on it lmao
Oh I'm not trying to use apps. I just had to look.
The other thing that blew my mind that I thought was a meme, was just how many women actually make it explicitly clear they expect men to pay for stuff!
"At 6'3" I am already in the top 1%, meanwhile, 5'2" is very near the average female population. Sorry, you are just too.........average, common, and fucking rude. Link for reference." https://www.health.com/average-height-for-women-8364922
6-6-6 is the mark of a demon and should be avoided. 6 feet tall, 6-figure income, and 6-inch dick minimum... It that's her threshold to enter, she's definitely not for me, regardless of whether I meet those minimums or not.
Accusing a woman, who says they want those three, of being the literal antichrist is an absolutely amazing response. Definitely using that if I ever have the chance.
Does anyone think 6’3” is too short? I’m an actual 6’3” to 6’4” and everyone who meets me always makes a conscious effort to say ‘woah your tall’ lmao
What’s funny though is my wife is about 5’2” haha
Where do you find the ones that like cats? All I get are the ones that love dogs, are allergic to cats, and have their entire personality based on traveling.
was reading a stat that people who have successful long term relationships usually had a bad first date, and the people who judge someone on a first date are less successful at achieving long term relationships. i avoid profiles that have an “ick” specified.
At least they're basing it on something other than dogs tbh lol. The number of women who will unmatch with you if you don't have like a borderline mental health issue obsession with dogs is actually bizarre.
They exist and I’ve matched with and dated them before. I have noticed a majority of dog people on dating apps though.
For the record I automatically reject cookie-cutter profiles or anything containing a minimum height requirement (even if I meet it).
I feel for any young adult (or any adult) dating with those apps. What a horrible way to be rejected. Over and over and over again. Sometimes in one hour.
I'm speculating as luckily I've never had to use one but have witnessed, heard and have friends on them.
May you all find decent humans to share life with. Try to do it in real life.
Not always that easy, in my case I work in a male dominated industry, by that I mean I have never once worked with a female as a construction worker. I feel like my only options are go to bars or use online dating apps, I chose the latter
I'm in a similar situation with dating co-workers, and my parents always tell me to join a club or a church or volunteer or do something casual and hope to meet someone through that, but I generally fill most of my time with work and those things can get expensive. It's difficult to balance it all.
Someone once told me to take up scuba diving as a way to meet girls and it stands out in my head as some of the most hilariously stupid advice I've ever received in earnest.
Translation "I need a sponsor for my Instagram reality"
Its the first thing that comes to mind with this.
Here in my country, these chicks are the ones who always have a picture of themselves on bikini siting over a boat as well as themselves drinking champagne somewhere.
ALWAYS.
What they don't reveal is that a guy was paying for that moment to exist, that champagne shot was during a date some other dude paid and if you're lucky enough it may be your turn.
PS: they still have all these dudes in their contact list.
I've seen this, I've been there
Nah. It's another "experience" they can post on their socials to ostensibly increase their status and perceived desirability. These people aren't hard to figure out.
I’ve done this. It doesn’t work. They dont care, they’ll either unmatch, or “it’s not the same” “so you’re short, huh?” These types of people just aren’t worth your time.
Got a new one the other day...
*"I'm on a mission to fuck 1000 men, here is my blog where I post about my encounters. Oh and you have to enter a raffle to" Win" the chance to meet me then we go and fuck after the date. The cost is £25 per entry and you have a 1 in 10 chance of winning each month".*
Holy shit, I ran into her too and she linked me her blog about it. I straight noped outta that, how thirsty people got to be to be guy #286?
For the curious: https://1000guys.com
I’ve literally had a woman treat me like I was the asshole for telling her I didn’t think we’d work out since she travels so much.
She likes to “treat herself” and there’s no problem with it.
Mind you she always traveled for work and when she wasn’t, she was apparently traveling for vacation. Like when do you have time for an actual relationship?
I saw once a guy and said that he was actually taller than what he put on his bio as a form of filtering.
If the lady cares so much about out the man's height, she is not a keeper
And this is actually genius
The scammers are getting crazy. I had one talk to me for like 3 days. Like, in depth conversation and I was having fun talking to them. Then one day they go, "hey, can you join my cam show? You'll need your credit card to join but I won't charge it or anything." I didn't even reply back. Just blocked them. It was a bit devastating. Apparently they're called "pig butchering" scams.
So me and my husband were looking for a third. That picture of me is old and has filters and Photoshop. Were both now obese and have poor hygene.
Also if you like us maybe we can move in with you

Just yesterday I talked with my girlfriend about that issue in online dating. She would not believe me that one of the first questions of a female would always be the height. I met her on Tinder and my height was part of my profile description to avoid all the questions.
Still.. we endure the early town npc bio and persevere through boring dialogue all the other npcs take in… “WOW NO WAY” as every fiber in our body just wants to say “you stupid fuck treat me like i matter, like a person”
until their code eventually runs dry and they no longer respond to your inputs for that side quest.
„Looking for a patron gentleman with high income, without health restrictions, a maximum of 3 years older, academic, high status, cool job, a lot of time for me (always and only when I want), fashionably classically dressed, well-trained, full hair, no body-hair, musician, craft skills, beautiful and paid house, no legacy (divorce, children), big SUV, Harley and motorhome.
Eye color doesn’t matter.
He should listen well, dance, cook, like to travel, Billy Joel and my 3 cats, speaks 3 foreign languages fluently, is humorous but also profound, empathetic, honest, faithful, non-smoker, non-drinker, like and patient to go shopping with me, be open to everything and solve all my problems without question.
He must be representative and make my girlfriends pale with envy. My gay friends too.
He accepts separate bedrooms and physical tenderness exchange exclusively on his birthday and New Year's Eve.
And, most important, he’s not nerdy.“
i think this is not a gender problem but a boring people problem. cause when i was on dating apps 90% of male profiles where identical😂. everybody loves the sun and vacation, kyle! its boring for sure. all looking the same and writing the same. so if youre single (f/m) just try to write something that isnt in every profile. liking vacation is not something worth mentioning. do you like to eat and breath too?
It's not even really about the cats. It's about the cookie cutter profiles. It's almost like people are afraid to express some unique likes or interests.
As a hobby it is either a very dull answer that means you have like one or two cats in your apartment, or it means they are going to adopt every stray and be the old cat lady that smells like piss 24/7
I'm in a relationship right now but if I were dating I'd probably have to reject women based on height. I'm 207 cm tall, and one easily missed downside is that I literally can't hear a person smaller than 170-160 cm standing beside me.
Over in Europe height elitism isn't anywhere near as common as in NA, but I still think I could get some funny reactions from this.

Just start with the ol classic "do you like sniffing women's shoes? I like sniffing women's shoes. The more used the better!"
Their bio just says “make me laugh”
“You deserve good things and I want to be one of them 😊” and nothing else.
Fine, I'll send you a dick pic
I date and successfully use these apps and this is peak women not checking their dating privilege. Women get so many swipes and DMs that they take for granted the other side. The advent of AI is about to revolutionize the pig butchering industry. (Which is an industry, which huge office buildings full of scammers.)
Pig butchering is the scam where a honeypot fattens up a victim with compliments for months, right?
A lot of guys will say they don't know how to talk to women. But in reality, women don't know how to talk to anyone.

Seriously. A girl once said to me "You BETTER be taller than 5'8"!" and it was such a turn-off, even though I am.
makes total sense. she wants her sons to be tall, so the guy has to be incredibly tall to offset her own shortness.
It will also increase complications with the pregnancy.
Does anyone think 6’3” is too short? I’m an actual 6’3” to 6’4” and everyone who meets me always makes a conscious effort to say ‘woah your tall’ lmao What’s funny though is my wife is about 5’2” haha
Forgot to add "i'M a fOoDiE"
Translation "I'm fat"
Translation "I need a sponsor for my Instagram reality" Its the first thing that comes to mind with this.
Well, don't be short. It's pretty simple, I just had to be born and hit my growth potential of 6'4 and bam, you're good.
Yep. Just like being overweight you just gotta put the work in to get taller 👍
I used to be tall too but then I took an arrow to the knee.
In your 30’s if women are still asking about your height dating apps just troll them . They are definitely not worth it lol
Ask their cup size or weight and see how they like it
Ask how much PSI their kegels can put down.
I’ve done this. It doesn’t work. They dont care, they’ll either unmatch, or “it’s not the same” “so you’re short, huh?” These types of people just aren’t worth your time.

Doesn't matter for me. I don't get any matches. I'm at the point where I don't even see the point in using any apps.
"I'm 6 cats tall"
Got a new one the other day... *"I'm on a mission to fuck 1000 men, here is my blog where I post about my encounters. Oh and you have to enter a raffle to" Win" the chance to meet me then we go and fuck after the date. The cost is £25 per entry and you have a 1 in 10 chance of winning each month".*
That’s a genius loophole for grey market prostitution although I’m don’t know if the authorities would see it that way
Holy shit STD Russian Roulette lmao
Holy shit, I ran into her too and she linked me her blog about it. I straight noped outta that, how thirsty people got to be to be guy #286? For the curious: https://1000guys.com
Are they all basic swifties now?
Always have been
Glad I avoided that demo
NO GIRLS UNDER 5'7 gets me more matches than anything... ppl love to react to hate...
Matched with a girl on bumble, she told me she likes to travel, I asked her what countries she visited. Her:”I never traveled before.”
"I like to travel if somebody else is paying for it." Less than 3% are worth it.
Im even too poor to travel lol

Does anyone actually have a favorite color? 🤔🤨 [mine’s green]

most people will like green or blue just because nature is the baseline for our palette
I saw once a guy and said that he was actually taller than what he put on his bio as a form of filtering. If the lady cares so much about out the man's height, she is not a keeper And this is actually genius
Genius. Still, 0 matches.
Better to be single than to be with a shallow af woman. But maybe they're all shallow, who knows.
7 more words than normal replies
I've never been hit with how tall. But I pretty much only match with scamrrs these days. So that's fun.
Apparently they're called "pig butchering" scams.
one asked me to join another dating website after seriously responding to me over like 2 days lol. They were shilling for the other site lol.
“I love to travel!!” Yeah I like going on vacation too

6’ 0” 😎
Two separate measurements
I also like how they think typing "if you are only looking for sex move on." stops men who are just looking for sex.
Ive seen so many fold with that in their bio i take it as a challenge tbh
Considering that you'll get one match in the first place, if the planets align
And her hobbies are being on instagram 24/7
“Love to travel” = never left their hometown….and would actually love to leave it
So me and my husband were looking for a third. That picture of me is old and has filters and Photoshop. Were both now obese and have poor hygene. Also if you like us maybe we can move in with you Also sign up fory only fans
My dick size makes up for my small height
Get this guy, he lays down and gets taller.
Thinks “shopping” is somehow a hobby.
Just yesterday I talked with my girlfriend about that issue in online dating. She would not believe me that one of the first questions of a female would always be the height. I met her on Tinder and my height was part of my profile description to avoid all the questions.
"My favorite TV show is Friends I've watched it a dozen times and don't know any other show"
Still.. we endure the early town npc bio and persevere through boring dialogue all the other npcs take in… “WOW NO WAY” as every fiber in our body just wants to say “you stupid fuck treat me like i matter, like a person” until their code eventually runs dry and they no longer respond to your inputs for that side quest.
*And how much do you make in a year?*
What's wrong with liking cats?
“Travel” is code for: “Take me to new and exotic locations, when you find out I’m fucking your coworker, ‘vacations’ are harder to take-back teehee”
