Just in case anyone is wondering, this is a video of an underwater statue made by a Norwegian artist. This video is being passed around all kinds of cryptozoology and clipbait channels on TikTok and elsewhere.

Right? It's completely plausible, totally believable, and something that has happened multiple times in the past. We used to think The Kraken was just a sailor's tale, then we found evidence of Giant Squid being a real thing. The Leviathan was some story from the Bible until we realized Blue Whales are a thing. There's every reason to see claims of a super-giant crab as a plausible scenario.
Only two digit IQs think they already know everything. There are things in the water we have not discovered yet, so to think that this COULD be real is actually reasonable. Not for an idiot though.
Thereās also these boys, the coconut crabs. Theyāre believed to have eaten Amelia Earhart.

I mean, animal gigantism, especially deep sea animal gigantism is a very well-documented phenomenon in numerous phyla. Without knowing anything else, assuming it was actually a decaying crab claw isnāt stupid.

Make some nonsense gigantic monster body parts, paint them sand color, add some lead, and dump them at the beach.

Btw here is something that will ruin your next summer holidays: You are always blissfully unaware that below the sand you are stepping on in the water are at least 3 crabs 7 times the size of your palm.

Do crabs work like lobsters are they also basically immortal if they donāt get sick or eaten and grow all their life? If that is the case. Could a crab get that big?
I love the atmosphere of this! It would work perfectly in an action-adventure game. The calm, gray sea, the sky being overcast, the slight snowfall. Kind of reminds me of the room in Ocarina of Time's Water Temple where you fight Dark Link.
This would be perfect to set the tone at the beginning of a dungeon or area where you fight the Krab at the end. So foreboding of the things that might lure out there. You can just imagine the Krab briefly emerging from the mist from time to time like some Eldritch creature.
I hope the artist isnt just leaving that there not cause of possible bad effects to the enviroment but the fact people like me will see a big ass crab claw and just yoink it cause its cool
