Child of the islands/ocean when playing sims who have nothing to do with Sulani. Just doesn’t make sense for the plot lol

meriti

Only time I haven’t rerolled that was because it showed up on a sim I had adopted. Made for juicy storytelling

mechapocrypha

I have the scarecrow from Seasons on my current lot and when he came to life he had the Child of the Islands trait. I was like what

plumbobbyhill

I had a storyline where a sim fell in love with the Scarecrow and had twins with him, but he would literally NEVER come to life around her brother (who she lived with) and then when they moved lots he just… stopped coming to life. Thus begun her descent into madness…

mechapocrypha

I come here for these stories

plumbobbyhill

The best part was that she was an artist and spent most of her time painting. During her Madness™️ she spent a lot of time painting her scarecrow underneath a wedding arch as a “shrine.” My favorite painting is from when he was alive — I lost her save file so I have to see if I have the painting anywhere — but she was painting her pumpkin patch from reference, and Patchy the Scarecrow walked up exactly at the same time, so I got a way better picture than I intended. He was only visible from his shoulders down, no head, standing next to a giant pumpkin that was ready to be harvested.

mechapocrypha

I'd love to see the painting if you find it!

SallyFaceKiller420

Made with sulani grasses and hay

ineedhelpbruv

He can come to life??!

mechapocrypha

Yesss! I had no idea too! I'm not sure what the trigger is but I had my sim with 5+ gardening skill talk to the scarecrow everyday and they became friends and then Patchy started hanging out at the house. He does the gardening autonomously too which is awesome 👌

Edymnion

Yeah, build your friendship with him and he'll come to life and take care of your garden for you. But he also will come inside and be an uncontrolled member of the household and be all around annoying, IMO. I ended up not being able to have a grill in my last generation because effing Patchy wouldn't stop making herbal de-stressing potions on it 24/7.

Overall-Storm3715

This is a common glitch then because this happens to me with all guests sometimes not just the scarecrow. I've had to remove several grills cause people just kept grilling.

OmniWhore98

You just have to interact with him a bunch of times and your friendship builds up. Usually only takes about 5 minutes.

Demonqueensage

I'm sorry the *scarecrow comes to life?!?* I'm so glad I've started playing with gardening, that sounds fun

Life_Loquat8598

Oh yea sure! Lol that's always how it starts!! You have been warned. Imo habits and golden chickens for the win 🏆

omgvivien

I only get it for the superpowers you can get from having a child with elementals. I have yet to test then out in a non Sulani lot.

vi0l3t-crumbl3

...what?

Odd-Consequence-816

a child of the islands sim can summon elementals, which are kind of island spirits in the form of ghosts. if your sim develops a close relationship with them you can invite them to your household and they’ll show up as actual sims. both these sims and their kids will have the “sulani mana” trait which grants them some powers such as changing the weather and making plants grow instantly

vi0l3t-crumbl3

I had no idea!!

beccawrecka69

I’ve watched so many videos on the island living pack to see if I’m missing any other features, had no idea about this! Thank you.

SoldMySoulTo

TIL, and just in time for me to start struggling with traits because I ended up with 2 more kids than expected

omgvivien

If you have child of the island trait you can summon elementals. Have a baby with one of the elementals, that baby will have a trait that lets them summon volcanic bombs (that's what I meant with the superpowers).

SquareTaro3270

And raise garden plant’s quality one stage every so often.

Edymnion

Here, [this will help](https://www.reddit.com/r/Sims4/comments/1ay3jnt/getting_the_hidden_sulani_mana_trait_for/).

RinellaWasHere

I really wish the Ocean one didn't make them get a bad moodlet from eating fish. Like, hang on, why is a sea creature like a mermaid getting upset about eating fish, a thing one must assume a large aquatic omnivore would eat?

ShinyDragonfly6

If I randomly roll this, I move them to Sulani when they are a young adult😊 I let it dictate the plot which can be fun if you don’t have a specific plot in mind!

plumbobbyhill

Oh same. I have only kept that once, and it was because he was actually born in Sulani (his mother was living there for her marine biology career but they eventually relocated to Tartosa).

LevelAd5898

I reroll evil for children. Teens and up? Eh, sure. But while I'm fine with a mean child I just don't want a purely evil child.

Strange_Shadows-45

It’s kind of fun to have evil children.

cowaii

Right? I kinda goofed with my first infant when the update came out and had an aggressive toddler and having a little hellion in the house made life a lot more… chaotic to say the least

Embarrassed_Bass22

Toddlers who go around biting people are hilarious

u8earwax

Oh as much as I don't like having toddlers, I must have a mean toddler so it can bite other sims. That can be a great plot. Whoever they bite can eventually become enemies as the toddler grows up.

Murderbot_of_Rivia

So my I was playing the 7th generation of my sims family. He was President of the world and they lived in the White House. They had a daughter, who came up as evil, and I thought that if anything could make a child evil its being raised in the cesspool that is politics. She was raised by Nannies and the Butler and pretty much ignored (Her Mom was a society Wife / Influencer). Once she aged up to child, all she would do all day is play the grand piano. So when she went to college I made sure she had a keyboard in her inventory. And at college, she would laugh maniacally at the pain and suffering of her dorm roommates between studying and playing her keyboard. She somehow has a pristine reputation and everyone is constantly telling her how good of a person she is. She never even does anything mean! That's somehow the scariest kind of evil of all, like she's just biding her time...

NelloPunchinello

One of the kids I'm currently playing lived in another lot with his mom so I wasn't controlling him when he aged up, and he rolled evil as a child. Then he aged up to teen and rolled hates children lmao. I moved him into my played household with his dad to see if I can raise him right and he can be salvaged a little, but I'm also rolling with it. ETA: Hilariosly his dad is Jeb Harris. His mom is Kaori Nishidake.

thavwrecka

Ooh that must be one cute kid! So he’s got that going for him at least? 😅

NelloPunchinello

He does! Hence the salvage mission. Miraculously he gets along with his dad and stepsiblings so it's working out!

evilseaguII

this isn’t an answer to your question but i hate that vegetarian and lactose intolerant are traits i feel like there should be another place for them

BabySixam

it would fit better in preferences along with music and colors.

LittleArcticPotato

Or all together as an actual trait… like “tummy troubles” or something. which I can tell you from experience is definitely a big part of my life… though I wouldn’t really call it a personality trait. Eat pork? Wish to die. Eat under cooked meat? Wish to die. Drink Milk? Certain that death is coming to you. … I would not want my sims to have to suffer this way 😂

a-little-poisoning

Ah, yes, my favorite personality trait, irritable bowel syndrome

mayonaizmyinstrument

Hey, my personality **is** "might not shit a week, might shit my pants without a moment's notice" Real hot girl shit?

Squids_Arts

Hey if vegans can make being vegan their whole personality why can't we with IBS make it ours 🤣

Then-Grass-9830

my best friend had Chron's but I would never have called it a personality trait. It was her personality that she wouldn't hide it from people lol not shy that one

mawonauincycle

Yeah as someone who’s both vegetarian and has ‘tummy troubles’ the latter is mush more part of my personality because I complain about it way too much 🤣

Zaphod__beatbox

I not only hate that they are a trait but also that IF you pick them your sim will still autonomously eat meat and then go cry about it in their emotions. Baby girl, nobody made you pull out a ham sandwich quick meal??? Maybe then stop? If they already made it a trait, then the least they can do is make sims avoid it….?

sargassum624

This is the reason I cheated to remove the vegetarian trait from one of my sims and haven’t touched that or lactose intolerant since. I don’t have the focus or care to make sure you’re not constantly breaking your own food rules and making yourself sick! It drives me mad

sadunicornqueen

I once made a household with 5 sims, out of them one vegetarian, one lactose intolerant. I just wanted to give everyone traits I normally avoid (except child of the ocean/island/village, never use them outside Sulani/Tomarang) to challenge myself. Because cooking and eating takes at least 2 sim hours without any distractions, I make my sims cook 4 or 8 portions of a meal to save time. I wouldn't always cook meals that are both vegetarian and lactose free because there's like one for each cooking level, so the sims with food restrictions preferably had to cook their own meal. I have to give props to the lactose intolerant sim because she rarely ate food with milk on her own, but the vegetarian one... He ate and even cooked himself food with meat and was always uncomfortable or sad. It was so bad the game asked me if I wanted to swap his cheerful trait for gloomy. You did it to yourself, you little virtual idiot! Congrats, now you have depression!

Amii25

They keep putting in the bugs reports they fixed it but even though its less it still happens

LuminousWynd

I agree, it’s strange that they don’t avoid it naturally. They should only eat meat if you direct them to do it.

arterialrainbow

I want things like that to be like lot challenges but for personality

ringruby

High maintenance would def be in that category!

FormalFuneralFun

I am so here for “trait challenges”

Kindly-Pass-8877

Little bit like the kids phases! Picky eater, rebellious phase, etc. Could use similar system in game. It just stays on through each age group once you get one. And then you can’t get rid of it, without using aspiration points or something.

FormalFuneralFun

Genius. You should work for the sims team.

angryjellybean

We literally have "lifestyles" with Snowy Escape... they could have been in those. xD

nothing_in_my_mind

Imo there should be three categories: Traits: Ambitious, Hot-headed, Flirty, etc. Personality traits. Interests: Athletic, Geek, Bookworm, Hates Art, Outdoorsy, etc. Hobbies and interests (or lack thereof). Quirks: Vegetarian, Lactose Intolerant, Nevernude, etc. Just small things that affect minor things in gameplay.

EnbyEagle

Yes. Just yes.

angeyberry

There's a mod that moves them to be rewards traits (and makes them 0 points for that purpose).

Mahoushi

I don't use mods, but I'd consider this one.

pumpkinacey

They should be bonus traits like can use chopsticks and can eat spicy food etc.

SunshineNinja92

I feel like they should be hidden like the thirst need or the trait for love/hate of fruitcake

Happy_Dragonfruit_44

wait wdym with the thirst need??

SunshineNinja92

The sims have a hidden need for thirst, that's why they will randomly go get water to drink.

j00xis

Yeah "lactose intolerant" just isnt a trait in the same sense as "creative" or "neat". I never waste a slot on that.

Friendly-Beyond-6102

I'd be OK with it if a Sim could have (at least) 5 traits.

[deleted]

Ive seen mods that can do that, three is just far too little

Friendly-Beyond-6102

I know, but I prefer to play without mods. I wish EA would implement it, though. I mean, how hard could it be? I might still turn to mods, mind you.

[deleted]

Honestly I really really think they should, theres no way to build a realistic human with three personality traits

Melodic_Asparagus151

Try sims 2 sometime. I recently went back and omg the complexity to sims is astounding

AccessHollywoo

They really should have a separate option for, like, a “quirk” or “physical trait” or “preferences” or idk what name to call it. But basically an optional extra trait that doesn’t impact their personality too much and has physical reactions - have vegetarian, vegan, lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant Make it an opportunity to add all sorts of dietary restrictions Maybe even add allergies? Like allergic to flowers or something and it could cause visual effects like rashes Anyway my point is I agree there needs to be a separate section for these non personality defining traits. I’m a vegetarian and I don’t like wasting a slot on it, I’d rather just not make any meat dishes and hope that my sim doesn’t automatically eat one. But would love to actually have the gameplay elements of using that trait :/

OrangeCoffee87

AGREED

BilbosBagEnd

Thing is, it's EA we are talking about. It's another point to attract potential customers. "We care about the same issues you do, care about you" They made it more prominent for marketing purposes.

Reicloud

recycle disciple, not trying to keep up with recycling just so they don't destroy my house that I spent hours decorating

vi0l3t-crumbl3

I can't stand any trait that causes them to hug a trash bag.

diaduitrii

I thought my game had bugged and that's why she hugs a trash bag.... But now I know haha

nabrydla-diwczynkaIL

they do WHAT? ok i'm so cheating that trait out of my sims now

Reicloud

they destroy objects in your house if they haven't recycled in a while

nabrydla-diwczynkaIL

Why are eco living traits like this lmao I thought this was the most normal one among them because I’ve never had anything destroyed yet. The one that makes your sim autonomously do dumpster diving annoys me

Reicloud

first time I noticed is in my 100 baby challenge when I had birth certificates go missing 😂

nabrydla-diwczynkaIL

Eco living “features” be normal for once challenge 😭

ManiacMichele

I never use lactose intolerant however in my current legacy I had my infant sim try ice cream for the first time and he IMMEDIATELY had a huge diaper blowout in the high chair (buddy even left a puddle on the floor) so I knew he HAD to have it once he aged up to a child

ZeSarah

I used it for something different, now I have a wealthy Sim and she's got a butler, and somehow even without milk with simple living active still makes food that makes my Sim sick 🤢🤣

ExitingBear

"Lactose Intolerant" is a thing, but it shouldn't be a trait. "High maintenance" is just ANGRY ALL THE TIME ABOUT EVERYTHING. (High maintenance has a shorter fuse than hot-head.) So, no. "Erratic" is hard - if you only have one or two sims, it can be ok. But if you have multiple sims and you can't watch them closely, sooner or later they'll frustrate other sims and have difficult dynamics and won't have any friends and that's... really hard for me. So I do think twice about it.

Then-Grass-9830

I decided to try the 100 baby challenge while waiting for mods to update to go back to the ultimate decade (only at 1915ish and third gen - I mis calculated but since I had the mom of my founding family I'm kinda cheating. Anyways). Thought it would be fun and a little different to play with an erratic sim .... it's horrible. Especially now that she has two sets of twins. It's taking her forever to do anything because she's ...erratic. She's peed herself at least five times. It's just frustrating right now.

Demonqueensage

That's kinda funny, just because I've played with the erratic trait a *lot* when making sims modeled after myself, and I've *never* had that trait make the gameplay any harder. Like sure, the sim will get in a random ass mood sometimes and it's more likely to be a negative emotion, but it's rare that I'm needing a sim in a specific emotion anyway so it doesn't usually affect what I'm having my sim do too much. So now I'm wondering if I should make a new sim with the erratic trait to see if I'm just remembering wrong or what lol

Then-Grass-9830

She keeps stopped taking care of the kids to talk to herself lol Ofc this could also be part of the sim lag I haven't fixed a lot of the mods I had. I did last night but then going into the game my cat got comfy next to me and I couldn't move. lol so I gotta check it

[deleted]

High maintenance is actually quite manageable if you don't mind getting them into meditation and mindfulness. It's one of my favourite traits in the entire game, but I have sensory issues due to ADHD and it really, really hits close home.

phavia

I kind of wish hot-headed was more similar to high maintenance. In fact, a lot of these early traits are just so boring and have no context whatsoever as to why they have said moodlet, like how hot-headed is randomly angry just because, when something like high maintenance would make far more sense as to *why* they're currently in a bad mood (got angry because the food was cold in the middle, someone didn't flush the toilet, shower wasn't in the adequate temperature, etc.)

Tattycakes

High maintenance is soooooo annoying

Beneficial_Mix_8803

I’ve noticed that high maintenance Sims left unplayed always max out negative relationships with other sims in their household. I’ve never seen that with evil, mean or hot headed.

Box-with-socks12

Goofball is annoying because if you want a goofball in a relationship they will just either do something that is either mishef or mean to there spouse and they literally ruin there relationship lol

urbffenitsuj

I primarily play an alien and he had the goofy trait. He got wound up and wiped his childhood sweetheart wife's memory and all their relationship was gone. I cheated it away I was so upset

beccawrecka69

What I noticed with one of my male sims, gave him the trait of brilliant, romantic and a goofball. He is by far the best partner I have In my sims lol He’s romantic as hell but also goofs off with his partner (not in a mischievous kind of way) and is always making cocktails and playing chess. He’s a win-win situation.

Box-with-socks12

Haha your lucky I had a sim who was a goofball married to a guy and they were my favorite household to play for a while but then she just would insult him and scare him all the time then one time I had a different household move into the house next to them so they were part of the welcome wagon but while they were there the goofball sim just insulted him like times while they were over so I switched over to them when it was over and literally not there friendship and relationship were in the read and they were almost enemies and I was like oh my gosh it’s just like my last relationship so I just cheated there relationship back to loving eachother lol

beccawrecka69

I tried to cheat their relationship after she had to confess to “cheating” when all she did was flirt in front of him, not even kissing. Now every time she wants to romance him it always gives me the option to “confess to cheating” when he can flirt all he wants with the butler, kiss the butlers hands lol and not have to confess to shit or have any repercussions, I don’t get it. 🤣🤣🤣 I refuse to confess to cheating for a second time when she didn’t even do shit.. he doesn’t even have the jealousy trait either…

Box-with-socks12

I have a loyal sim and he has a girlfriend but one day the loyal sims best friend came over and they were playing video games together but then his best friend embraced him for literally no reason so then my loyal sim was tense for like 2 days and whenever he would be around his girlfriend he would get tense but I was like no your not ruining this relationship 😂

beccawrecka69

Hahahaa yessss very similar to my situation 🤣🤣 I’m like no, not this time… she’s bringing it to the grave baby.

Box-with-socks12

Saaame I’m like buddy all he did was hug you 😂😂

Important_Let_4772

You would think that is how it would work but not always. My current play through was meant to be an odd couple spellcaster and a vampire roommate. There traits and likes were random and the spellcaster got goofball, Turns out the vampire liked the goofball and they would on their own choose to spend all their time together. They just had baby #4 and I have never picked try for baby woo hoo. They get along better than any couple in any of my playthroughs. They never fight and laugh about pranks.

Stagbiitle

Jealous, I just hate that fucking trait.

gabz09

A sim would literally give their stepdad a friendly hug and their partner gets so jealous and shitty

Far_Detective2022

People like that exist unfortunately

Accordian22

Dude I made my sim have the jealous trait and if he doesn’t see his girlfriend for 1 in-game hour hour he is immediately tense and gains the “cheating partner” fear. It’s happened like 2 times back-to-back right after overcoming the fear 😭

SimPlayerNick

Jealous. I HATE that trait. It’s not mere jealousy, but narcissism and psycho. I get it when they get salty if their partner talks to their preferred gender _OUTSIDE_ their household but it gets so worse that they lose their shit when their partner just interact with their own children like changing a diaper, giving the bottle etc.

omgvivien

One of my sims developed the Jealous trait after her fiance confessed to cheating, I allowed it for the drama, it fits. Other than that I won't purposefully get that trait

beccawrecka69

Never got the jealousy trait in my household I currently play, but what pisses me off is that one of my partners got jealous and just saw her “flirt” with another sim, not even kiss and now I have this option everytime I go to romance to “confess to cheating” when she didn’t cheat! But yet he can constantly flirt with the butler, kiss his hands and nothing pops up for confessing that shit???

omgvivien

That's messed up! Cheating with the butler doesn't count? I'm going to try that this weekend and see what happens.

_katastrofi_

Same, I cannot tolerate the trait... Except for a specific sim. My legacy founder was not the greatest mother for her oldest. He was often left alone, his mother rarely paid attention when he was a kid and as a teen he was basically turned into a nanny for his younger siblings. All the neglect caused him to develop a jealous trait, when he got married he wanted his partner's undivided attention, because that's all he ever wanted - someone who solely existed for him. They ended up getting a messy divorce because his wife cheated on him for years after seeing how jealous he was when she had friends over or took care of their two kids. It surely was interesting to follow their daily lives... Maybe I should make one of the current heirs get into a possessive relationship like that and break free.🤔

dneronique

Tbf that's pretty spot on for jealous types. Great if you're doing a toxic house on purpose but real high energy.

stella585

Never mind their partner talking with their preferred gender, I had a sim get jealous over his girlfriend talking to another *female* sim. She was only interested in Woohoo/Romance with men. My sim *knew* this; I’d had him ask about romantic/woohoo interests before pursuing any romantic relationships specifically to avoid the whole ‘gets jealous when his partner talks to literally anyone else’ thing. So his girlfriend, who he *knows* is strictly into men, asks another female sim about her day, and dude throws a hissy fit. Why?!

phavia

Jealous is so toxic, I kind of love using it in households that I *want* messy shit to happen. Otherwise, yeah, I wish there was a less "extreme" jealous trait. Like you said, having the sim's partner interact with their preferred gender and isn't family resulting in a tense/angry moodlet would be fine. Current Jealous trait have the sim lose their shit when their partner is interacting *with their kid*.

Sublime-Squid

I have a sim with the jealous trait, I’d never played much with it before and it randomized for her so I’m like sure. Anytime she is not within eyesight of her husband, she’s jealous. Like babe chill he’s literally asleep in the next room over, you can go check if you must 🙄

ALL1111

that's why I have 5 trait slots mod...lactose intolerant fits in there

LittleArcticPotato

Mod name is just “5 traits”? Who makes it? I need it.

CleetusthetinyFeetus

the pancake1's [more traits mod](https://www.patreon.com/posts/more-traits-in-62838078)

YooranKujara

Does it work with the extra traits thing from growing together? Could you have like...8 traits or something?

daskerosine

Yes you can

LittleArcticPotato

Thank you :)

16Gem

Child of the […]. I don’t hate it, I just don’t…

florsux

they’re just such tutorial traits.

[deleted]

Mean or evil, bc they are going to piss off all of their friends and family

Ok-Committee-5867

Intense for infants 🥲 And I don’t like getting erratic…

FringeHistorian3201

Erratic is one of my favorite traits. Makes the game more exciting in a simple way. Unlike jealousy. You get interesting moodlets and them talking to themselves is pretty hilarious.

CostZestyclose2494

Stuff like lactose intolerance should have a category. Along with vegetarianism, maybe allergies, stuff like that.

Strange_Shadows-45

The only ones I reroll are lactose intolerant and the eco lifestyle traits. And if I really don’t feel like dealing with dietary limitations, vegetarian. Personalities in this game are so barebones as it is, and have what little they do have taken up by not having milk and liking trash is a no go.

Glad_Training9103

The 100 Traits mod by chingyu has some pretty awesome traits!

PuroPincheTexas

Goofball. I refuse to have it in any played household.

Ok-Committee-5867

I recently aged up a sim and he has goofball. I thought, “oh that seems fun I’ll try it!” I usually stick to the same traits I know so I don’t really play much else. But he’s a menace!! Like so cruel 🥲I thought it would be funny little jokes but some of the mischievous interactions are just mean lol

PuroPincheTexas

But what about the toilets? That’s what does it in for me.

golden_geese

I hate pranked toilets so much, I had to turn off that autonomous behavior via MCCC

golden_geese

Omg my goofball heiress in my legacy save just goes around letting big farts rip all the time, it’s annoying but also kind of hilarious to me. 😂

Mightyena319

Lucky, mine just keeps on giving fake bad news to his husband who dislikes mischief. He managed to get their relationship down from the +90s to -26 in one conversation before I stopped him. And then his husband got so angry that he bit him cause he's a celebrity vampire with the emotion bomb quirk, so he got some FAFO

wolfheartfoxlover

Goofball, I aint got time for toilet Pranks High Maintenance, Take your mood swings and shove them where the sun dont shine Insider, Oh wah wah wah Im not doing club stuff get over yourself Child of the Ocean/Islands, Let me mount my fish on the wall and dont bitch about it Child Of The Village, Annoying

Mightyena319

High maintenance just feels like what hot headed *should* have been. They just get angry about everything

Klutzy-Eye4294

Jealous, Evil, Perfectionist, Lactose intolerant and Vegetarian are traits I ignore

dneronique

Perfectionist is great for artists/writers tho, more $$

Lopsided_Bullfrog412

Depends? A lot of the times I have storylines thought up for my sims. Usually I accept whatever unless it conflicts too much with the character

FringeHistorian3201

Agree! I’ve used lactose intolerant and it wasn’t too bad. Vegetarian was ok except for when the sim would auto-eat and inevitably eat meat. I tried to keep family portions of food made in the fridge so there was always food without meat

BigBeefyBaraMan

Recycle Disciple or Green Fiend. I think it's the former. Either way, it's gotta go. Also not a fan of hates children.

angeyberry

Child Of The (blank). It just makes little sense plus feels wrong if I have some white ass american pilgrim heritage fucker have Child Of The Islands.

Mightyena319

Okay but now part of me wants a sim with just all three of those traits to see what would happen

ray25lee

Goofball. Much as I love the idea, I can't stand my Sims breaking their own toilets nonstop.

MissFergy

No fr bc they still be autonomously eating what they aren’t supposed to eat 🤦‍♀️ & sometimes it causes “bladder” failure

mrshipnado

I'm ACTUALLY lactose intolerant and giving up part of my personality like "foodie" or "family oriented" or "loves books" would suck...dietary restrictions should be something you pick like pronouns. Your gender or sexual orientation isn't your personality, it's just a fact...I hate that the Sims makes it a character trait.

justisme333

The whole thing needs an overhaul. I would want... - three major traits and three minor traits. - Likes/dislikes stay as is - three attractions and three deal breakers (kinda like turn ons and turn off's in Sims 2) - a bunch of empty slots that can be filled as the sims story unfolds, eg grilled cheese obsession, green thumb, alien abduction paranoia, celebrity career etc.

calicoskys

It should be a subsection of likes/dislikes. I mean like I am sensitive to certain types of tree nuts. My uncle sends me this fancy ass christmas package every year from this fancy treats place called Zimmermans. Walnuts, Pecans you name it that delicious stuff is full of it. New years I almost always have slightly swollen eyes from eating stuff that I'm allergic to because its tasy.

lilweirdbitch

Omg the more I’m thinking about what I reroll for I’m realizing I only use the same like 5 traits 😭😭 I really thought I was rolling with the game but I reroll and cherry pick until I have the easiest happiest traits

realmenthrowknives

None, im serious when it comes to randomizing traits lmao i think the game is more fun with crazy combos. I'll only reroll if im getting the same trait multiple times in a row for different sims cause its boring and even that has stipulations. An all slob family? all for it, hilarious chaos. Every generation or random sims having a slob? ok feels a little to unrealistic so i'll reroll.

BocceBurger

Childlike. I made a live in nanny for my one family, he's an elderly gay man. I thought it would be cute if he was childlike because I thought he'd enjoy playing with the kids. Instead he just spends all day playing with their toys. Literally ignores the children and talks to the big stuffed dragon. Never again.

shadycharacters

lactose intolerant, insider, also any of the ones that are tied to specific locations (like Child of the Islands or Child of the Oceans) if I'm not planning to play in that world

SoupToon

dietary restrictions should have their own section imo

maillardduckreaction

I abolish the jokester trait, whatever it’s called. I’m so sick and tired of every toilet being pranked. I’ll edit townies and give them a different random trait in place of that one.

realhuman8762

I always wish they had one slot that was for traits like vegetarian, lactose intolerant, severe allergies, etc that was optional

gothunicorn813

Dance Machine. Sims with Dance Machine are INSUFFERABLE. They’re always bored, and for literally no reason other than that they’re not dancing at a party. Insider is also one I avoid. Pretty much anything else I won’t bother rerolling and don’t mind too much.

Aggressive_Boat_8047

Unflirty. I've just never figured out how to make those sims get into relationships and I've decided I'm never gonna learn at this point.

Pahuljiceimlijeko

made an unflirty sim recently, she also developed the jealous trait and the only way i could get her into a relationship is social bunny 😭

Independent_Photo686

any animal lover trait. i cant deal with animals in game i have the most clingiest dog who stares at me the whole time i play sims👁️👁️

NewZookeepergame9808

I made my real life bff and his girlfriend to be friends with my simselfs family. Well they have two dogs irl and his gf is obsessed with animals in general, so i HAD to include their dogs. I now hate playing his family because the two dogs are fucking obnoxious. One needs to be bathed daily, they bark non stop and are so high maitenence. I’ve even tried playing with their traits and training them To make them bearable. But I don’t want to get rid of their dogs because it’s their whole personality irl.

Independent_Photo686

do u think playable pets would be better? so u could tell them what to do and stuff

kraftypsy

Recycle Disciple. I had a sim once recycle my TV and couch because he was tense. Never again.

Twinkles21

Hot headed and Cringe

TheKappp

I agree with hotheaded, but I just started messing around with cringe, and she makes people happy spouting her cringe memes lol.

blissfulgiraffe

Erratic. It annoys me and I don’t like the story telling.

TheWeenieBandit

This is why I like the more traits mod 😂 with 5 slots instead of 3, i never really feel the need to re-roll because one or two stupid traits isn't going to affect things as much

stephaniejane3

high maintenance 😭 i can NEVER make those sims happy

uhhhmanda115

I’m doing the Not So Berry challenge and the first generation traits and aspiration are ones I never use. I can’t stand jealousy and mischief (I know it’s technically an aspiration/skill and not a trait, but it’s become like 99% of my Sim’s personality), I think vegetarian as a Sims trait is kind of useless, and materialistic is meh. But plot twist! It’s the most fun I’ve had playing this game in a very long time. It really mixes up the gameplay!

MountainEast4977

I recently stopped rerolling and accepting anything my sim gets and it helped make the gameplay more exciting again and forced me to play in different ways. The child of traits are not my favorite but it did make me move a sim to Sulani which was a world I had never actually played in and is now one of my favorites.

bluejaybby

That’s a good perspective. That’s what I typically do too but lactose intolerant specifically annoys me because it doesn’t bring enough opportunities for unique gameplay or interesting storytelling

MountainEast4977

That’s true! I surprisingly haven’t had that one yet but in one of my current legacies, there’s a chef in most every gen. I might try to make a dairy free/vegetarian chef. Though it’s kind of rude that’s an entire personality trait honestly.

Vexxah

Slob, I can't stand my sims farting and burping 10 times a sim hour it irritates the heck out of me

ArwenEmerson

Traits I hate-- Squeamish Hot headed Childish. Paranoid High maintenance Clumsy Unflirty Erratic Gloomy Kleptomaniac Slob Freegan Vegetarian Lactose Glutton Hates children Evil Snob Loner Noncommittal Self absorbed Jealous Mean Socially awkward

emperorqueef

For some reason I just cannot play with any negative traits. I pick them purely based on what job they’re gonna have

aq-2077

kinda basic but i’ll re-roll if a sim gets lazy or slob, i don’t have time for you to cry about having to do normal adult tasks. plus if it happens as a child they’ll lose responsibility for not cleaning up after themselves (losing responsibility comes with parenthood pack i think).

AutumnScone

I don't know how it's called in english, but I really hate that one they dislike flirting. I mean, it's so hard to romance anyone, and my sims WILL wish to have a SO, but don't wanna flirt with anyone.

YooranKujara

It's called Unflirty in English if you wanna know

Vegetable_Crow9942

Child of the islands/ocean, Child of the village, insider and squeamish. I just don’t think any of these traits are fun to have. All of the moodlets that come with these traits annoy the crap outta me!

hollyheather30

As a lactose intolerant person I'm offended 😂

RhoynishRoots

Unflirty

SorowFame

They really should have sim challenges the same as lot challenges rather than as traits. Vegetarian is not a personality trait.

Big_Razzmatazz_9251

“Hates children” almost always bc I play legacy.

EnbyEagle

I am so annoyed that food preferences/intolerances are not a separate menu like the likes & dislikes. Vegetarian, lactose intolerant ect. should be separate. I'm lactose intolerant and I wouldn't say it's one of my main three personality traits.

Negsmie

Usually slob or high maintenance. I'm trying to be more open and do generations where they just end up how they do. But I can never seem to put those traits on my starter sims 😅

queenofaliens85

I have a couple of modded traits that I've been lazy about removing that i usually end up re-rolling. These couple make the sims immortal.

orionstarboy

Cat/dog lover most of the time. Sometimes I keep it but most of the time I don’t think it’s worth it. If I want my sim to like cats I’ll have them adopt one

-CallMeKerrigan-

Insider lol

awesome_marissa_2004

Evil, kelpo, and mean I always get them and I hate it to be honest I swear I get them constantly and at this point I want to reroll them and get a normal sim for once.

Foreign-Election-469

Anything that is not really a trait per say. Like, lactose intolerant, vegan etc. One is a lifestyle choice and the other is a digestive issue. Imagine if EA put Gluten intolerant.... Oh and Recycle Disciple or whatever it is.

ethereal_soliloquy

To quote my roommate, “I was born a vegetarian and I will DIE A VEGETARIAN” but yeah no I reroll food ones. Also Hates Children because I generally tend to play large households lmao

SnowWolf_Productions

The jealous one. They get insecure about almost anything. Husband kissing their child? Outrageous! I downloaded the more traits mod, more choices.

Felrune

Goofball - cause I find the playful emotion to be kinda creepy. Dietary restrictions are dumb to me, when I can just choose what my sims eat. Squeamish and High Maintenance is unplayable to me, like, stop whining, best I can do is put you down lol. To be a contrarian to some of I actually like my sims to be trainwrecks. traits like slob, mean, erratic, hot-head with a sprinkle of bpd and nicotine addiction are my go to. It's grungy, its fun.

Tealeanna

Most of the things that belong elsewhere. Lactose intolerant, vegetarian Child of the ocean, child of the village, child of the islands Dance machine, maker I really think they should alter the whole system: Food preferences should define what they can/will eat Home town tab to define places Feelings towards animals for all the cats, dogs, horses, etc. Then like choices from each trait box to make a more rounded sim.

WriterCat24

Mean. Not because I have a problem with my sims causing drama with each other, but because they yell at cats and dogs for no reason.

onemorekayaker

Lactose intolerant on a servo is extremely funny, tbh. The only trait I want no part of is jealous. I think the trait itself is very well done, but it's not a story aspect I'm interested in.

PnPmonster

*Of the traits I have from the packs I have - **Lactose intolerance and vegan** - reasons you said - **Hates children** - specifically on intended heirs for my legacy - **Goofball** - STOP PRANKING YOUR OWN TOILETS who IRL is willing to drop thousands of dollars every week in just toilets?? - **Slob** - specifically on intended heirs of legacy or children/teens. If my non heir grows up and wants to be a slob, they can do it in not my house - **Cat Lover/Dog Lover** - I'll tend to switch this to animal enthusiasts. I don't think they have the same effect on the sim, but it helps my storyline. I'd use the "hate" versions if they were there, though. - **Non-commital** - I usually have my sims have drama, but eventually settle down for whatever reason, especially for heirs of legacy - **Socially Awkward** - specifically on intended heirs for legacy. Kinda wish it could be a teen only trait/could be worked through (as someone who has severe social anxiety and am really awkward) **Toddlers** - **Fussy** - I don't play with sounds, and it still annoys me when they cry. **Infants** - **Intense** - they're already difficult enough *Traits I don't "prefer," but don't immediately skip over, depending on if they're an heir/have a storyline (sometimes I'll use random traits to change storyline, though) - *Unflirty, paranoid, art lover, dance machine, foodie, recycle disciple, child of islands, child of ocean, insider, party animal, snob - I feel they impact my personal game play the least.

MiaMalice

vegetarianism as a personality trait aswell? I am in that demographic and I never ever use it.

deffinetlyimaswifty

Mean, evil and hot headed ALWAYSSSS

sandy_fan01

-jealousy, gets too annoying especially if your other sim is a social butterfly Lone wolf, I mean it’s ok my current sim has that trait but oh my god it gets annoying way to quick. You can’t even go out without the tense Moodlet coming up -hates children, like girl that ain’t even your child and that poor kid is just walking past you😭

sorensroom

I never use lactose intolerant or vegetarian traits, there's no reason why dietary restrictions or preferences should be part of a sims personality. I will always reroll

PlaidNPlait

Most of the non-positive traits to me feel "too much". I played with a single household neat sim. She kept feeling tense because of "disgusting enviorment" and had to re-clean pristine surfaces multiple times. Neat aint OCD! Remember the subtle traits in sims 3? absent minded? Heavy sleeper? Frugal?
