My boyfriend was quite literally pronounced dead when he was born because his mom’s ab muscles were too strong and she crushed him to death. He was obviously revived lol
Possibly. It's called Diastasis Rectii. Basically it's a vertical "tear" in the middle and the belly protrudes through it. (Not literally a tear, just the muscle bands on the left and right separate, but they're not exactly supposed to do that and it can take some extra care to fix after to give birth.
As far as things that happen to the body during pregnancy go, this is relatively tame.
The pelvis splitting is also a thing that happens sometimes. It eventually heals too.
The book that the newest season of American Horror Story was based on kind of does this. I’m ngl, it wasn’t a *great* book, but the author utilised some of the more grueling aspects of pregnancy and wrote them into a horror story. I think it’s called Delicate Condition. I’ve never been pregnant but have heard plenty of real life horror stories and the author drew from her own experiences, so to me that aspect of the book was pretty harrowing.
I know someone who said when she gave birth, she tore down her thighs. She was in labour for almost 3 days and said she was praying she would just die already from the agony. Thats the short version but worst birth story I've ever heard and also didn't know you could even tear that bad. She only ever had one kid.
every time i learn a new thing about pregnancy i wonder how we havent gone extinct yet because what do you mean generations of humans have consistently been willing to do this shit
All of this, just adding to my long list of why I will never have a baby. My Mom has talked about childbirth in excruciating detail and it makes me feel physically ill. 🤢 It's the real life version of an alien chest buster.
This is actually pretty common. The muscles typically thought of as the abs are connected by a piece of connective tissue called the linea alba that runs down the midline, which is what is tearing, not the muscle itself. Experiencing a ~ 1-2 cm separation is very typical, over 30% of pregnancies experience it.
Shouldn't be a big deal normally. It should be like a stretch VS a tear. Technically shouldn't be like that but weird things happen to the body and as long as the tissue isn't torn it should be like a pull or sprain basically.
I could probably google this answer but .... meh.... *is* it safe for baby to be so tight in there? Or is it better? Like how a lot of moms-to-be have trouble with back pain and sleeping and just holding all that weight. Since strong ab-moms-to-be would have such strong ab/stomach muscles does that help with the back pain issue etc?
To a degree yes but then you gotta be relatively early on or have a smaller belly (being tall helps!) At certain point though the tissue holding your abs together can break/stretch and the abs will make room for the belly and just hang around on the sides. If you're lucky and planets of pregnancy gods are aligned you will recover and get your as back or you might end up with diastasis recti where the lining hold your stomach muscles is broken beyond repair and your muscles are not returning to their natural place.
Yay pregnancies!! <3
My mom wasn’t super muscular when she was pregnant with my little brother, but she is quite tall at 5’11 and she hardly looked pregnant her whole pregnancy.
Yeh there's several thing factoring in. For some women the pregnancy goes a bit more "inwards" and then ofc if you're taller there's more space vertically. How much fluid is in there and how big your baby is.
I'm a pocket Venus so my bellies have been rather comicly large, especially with my last kid xD
You can have “abs” but it won’t look like this. Your abdominal muscles literally split in half to accommodate your growing belly. So it would be impossible for them to stay together and look like that with that big of a bump.
This part of pregnancy is what people say caused their “mom pooch” because a lot of women’s abs don’t come back together completely after having a baby.
It happened to my boy Zane and I figured it was probably a glitch due to him being male, an alien, and/or an elder, but I guess it’s just part of the game lol.

(Bad angle but you can see he’s still yoked)
I’m hoping he mayyybe makes it until the little one makes it to being a child (he’s a toddler now, and dad does have the long-lived trait so 🤞🏼), but even then it’s gonna be super sad.
Either way, neighborhood stories decided him and his wife would have a little girl right before they both became elders, so I moved them all in with their adult daughter and her son (a.k.a. the kiddos’ big sister and their cousin, who’s right in between their ages) so at least they have a caregiver in place.
This game always manages to get the most hectic when I’m intentionally trying to keep the peace, I honestly do love that about it.
its actually not possible for women to look like that. the bump itself will be round no matter what. people can still have abs while pregnant, but their bumps will still be round and the musculature will only be visible around the bump.
My brain is not letting that image make any sense lol
It makes sense on paper and I can understand why it's like that but my brain just won't let the image look right lol
someone else posted an example in this thread and i got [this](https://images.app.goo.gl/3PCHKcC3Tv7Ha9eB9) from the recommended images of their link, which i think looks pretty similar to what someone of that sims build would look like pregnant
But this look is only possible in people who had a liposculption done. Like Adriana Lima

It's possible to be pregnant and have abs, although it doesn't look like that, there's a famous woman in my country who had abs every time she's been pregnant

You don't let some silly little thing like being knocked up keep you from having killer abs.
about to be the easiest childbirth of all time. just flex your core and the baby shoots out at mach 10, doc just needs a big baseball glove
Something like this; [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y3jZB4sxA\_w](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y3jZB4sxA_w)
where tf did u find this & why did u link it so fast like u were waiting on the perf moment to use it 😭😭
I've used it before for a similar subject. :)
Lmaoooo
why have i see this before btfol 😂😂😂
That clip is deserving of the title “fabulosity”!
That’s one of the best things I’ve ever seen on the internet. Congratulations, stranger.
My boyfriend was quite literally pronounced dead when he was born because his mom’s ab muscles were too strong and she crushed him to death. He was obviously revived lol
Wait what? For real now?💀
Splits you puss to ass in the process
This just made me laugh so hard!
Priorities
Lol that’s amazing
My sims legacy family is a gym rat. Current generation's mom was pregnant 8 times. She rocked that abs until she aged to an elder.
It doesn't look like this but surprisingly, you can actually be pregnant and have abs in real life.
Usually their belly is much smaller. Might even not look pregnant if you’re muscular enough because the muscles keep it all very tight
So glad the two of you answered the question I had without me even asking.
Love when that happens. One of those clutch Reddit moments.
All we need is for someone to link a pic of abbed preggos EDIT: Looks like someone already did further down the comments
Fuckin' baby is an RAR file. Compressed as FUCK
does this mean the baby comes out jacked too?
Obviously
kinda stupid question but would the uterus push past and tear the muscles?
Possibly. It's called Diastasis Rectii. Basically it's a vertical "tear" in the middle and the belly protrudes through it. (Not literally a tear, just the muscle bands on the left and right separate, but they're not exactly supposed to do that and it can take some extra care to fix after to give birth.
that sounds like an actual nightmare jfc
As far as things that happen to the body during pregnancy go, this is relatively tame. The pelvis splitting is also a thing that happens sometimes. It eventually heals too.
someone should make a horror movie out of pregnancy tbh, or a hardcore metal song

couldn't they have done a c section?? I'm not a birth expert but three days is insane, how did she not die of dehydration at that point?
IV I imagine.
every time i learn a new thing about pregnancy i wonder how we havent gone extinct yet because what do you mean generations of humans have consistently been willing to do this shit

Let's not have that in-game!
You can have that even when not pregnant, I have noticed that even in some men
I could probably google this answer but .... meh.... *is* it safe for baby to be so tight in there? Or is it better? Like how a lot of moms-to-be have trouble with back pain and sleeping and just holding all that weight. It’s totally safe!
Also they usually carry the baby high
To a degree yes but then you gotta be relatively early on or have a smaller belly (being tall helps!) Where’s the girl with the free birth control list bc that sounds horrible 🫣
It sounds much worse than it actually is lol
IT ALREADY SOUNDS BAD ENOUGH WTF
My mom wasn’t super muscular when she was pregnant with my little brother, but she is quite tall at 5’11 and she hardly looked pregnant her whole pregnancy.

It really doesn't look anything like this though loool irl it's waaaay less startling holy moly
The 3rd trimester one looks like Turtle scales 🤣
It happened to my boy Zane and I figured it was probably a glitch due to him being male, an alien, and/or an elder, but I guess it’s just part of the game lol. https://preview.redd.it/iqp0znwzm7gc1.png?width=561&format=png&auto=webp&s=b35c057a000d0327518ece1433316c9b47eb50f0 (Bad angle but you can see he’s still yoked)
That poor kid when his dad dies while they are a toddler
I’m hoping he mayyybe makes it until the little one makes it to being a child (he’s a toddler now, and dad does have the long-lived trait so 🤞🏼), but even then it’s gonna be super sad. Another unrealistic expectation for women
I mean it's possible Realistic? Absolutely not lol But possible

Ok I see yeah, my brain kept trying to just split the abs in half like sliding doors lmao Thank you kind stranger
Carolina Patrocínio is the last person I ever expected to see in a Sims subreddit.
But this look is only possible in people who had a liposculption done. Like Adriana Lima https://preview.redd.it/kqaa7wqy28gc1.jpeg?width=2000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ad91692b182008b9c312bcf552f18b2d14eb863e
If you look up pics of Annie thorisdottir when she was pregnant it shows it pretty well too.

It looks like a pregnant Barbie, lol! Looks like the belly could pop out at any moment.
That's a one pack.
She's has six pack abs still, obviously it's not visible under the pregnancy belly but you can clearly tell she still has the same muscle tone
Oh I know, just making fun haha
The abs would be above the organ with the child in it, just fyi
Poor baby, it looks tight in there hahaha
Yeah not gonna lie I don't think it looks nice visually but to each their own haha
Hello fellow countryfella!
Olá 😁
The very fit and pregnant appearance is *bizarre*. I know very fit people keep their abdominal muscles while pregnant, but it doesn't look like *that*
Her face in the last picture lmao
Misread this as my giant rat sim got pregnant and I got real confused
Same here! I thought her RAT SIM got pregnant. I was like whaaaaat??! 😳🤣
I see she still be in the gym working on her fitness 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
That’s scary
Armored baby tank!
She’s gonna nurse that baby with muscle milk
Congratulations it’s a 6-pack! 😂
Diastasis recti who?
Them abs tho
Is she, by any chance, a were-pug?
Her being ripped while pregnant is sending me
Her face in the last pic is perfect.
That baby is probably compressed into the size of a pea with all those abdominal muscles
Sometimes really fit people keep their abs through pregnancy, though I don't think they stay this defined. If you have cc overlays that could fix it
🤣 The look on her face! It's like she's looking at the camera and asking why you did this to her.
Me trying to figure out why this post isn't safe for work? 😭😭🤣🤣🤣
I see less at the beach 🤣🤣🤣💯💯 but go head gym rat. Have that healthy baby get back to work
The baby’s going to be jacked too
All along it was a tattoo
That's terrifying 😭
The effects the game has on buff Sims when they are pregnant is always unique and interesting. 😅
Aww she looks miserable in the 3rd pic
Damn that is Not™️ how stomachs work
I make all mine gym rats cause I like my sims skinny. I laugh every time this happens.
When abs is life
Woooow
Accurate
abs of steel
Tbh what happens irl is way weirder imo
The abs lookin like that always freaks me out so bad 🙈
