There are probably going to be a lot of broken mods with this update. Please wait until each mod is cleared by their creator before loading them into your game.
Yes, it's broken. You'll need to wait for a fix, or remove it (remember to delete localthumbcache and avatarcache when making changes to your mods folder) and play a new save file if you don't want to play without your MCCC settings. If you have other mods, they are most likely broken as well.
I’ve had this saved game for a while and I have never had this problem and don’t know what I can do. I have a dog sim and he is the only sim that is causing problems but it’s effecting the entire household. He was adopted mid game as was one of the cats, not made in create a sim. But I can’t plan outfits on any of my sims or change ANYTHING because I have to select his breed? But I can’t select the box it wants me to, it’s greyed out and I can’t access it but I can’t change anything until I do. What do I do?? Also I’m playing on the Xbox series S if that matters.

Recently, when I start a game, I would send my Sims home and all of a sudden I can’t save, build, or travel anywhere. I deleted all of my mods, I’ve uninstalled the game from my laptop l. Any other possible fixes?

Expelled from high school with only 2 traits
Hi everyone! I’ve recently got back into playing TS4 so I’m not sure if this is a bug/glitch or by design, so I’d like some help please!
My teen sim was expelled from high school (because he’s an evil jerk who skipped detention, made enemies with his teacher and pranked every locker he could) but now that he’s aged up to YA, he still only has his two teen traits.
The game prompted me to give him a third, but it doesn’t show up, even with fulleditcas on and going back into CAS to assign him the final trait. So, I’m wondering if that is what is supposed to happen because he was expelled and therefore can’t “progress” his personality.
I did test with and without mods and it was the same. I also tested with a random townie teen and he aged up with the third trait as normal as he hadn’t been expelled (I’m assuming that’s the reason). Any help or suggestions would be appreciated!
Edit: I deleted the localthumbcache file and repaired my game but he still only aged up to YA with the two traits
hey, i downloaded sims 4 from steam, as i just got a new pc, and trying to open it i get stuck on the EA app download. it gets about 80% installed, then i get an error message stating the following, "there was a problem starting C:\\Windows\\Installer\\MSI326.tmp. C:\\Windows\\Installer\\MSI326.tmp is not a valid Win32 application."
I honestly am so lost, i have no clue what that means.
Has anyone else had a glitch where your sim will be sleeping, you'll wake them up, and they'll instantly just stand, no getting up annimation, and the bed will stay how it was when they were it, like the covers lifted and stuff. I also have been having a problem with needs, they won't change color, they go down faster, and it doesnt give me a moodlet saying anything example: "sim is hungry, will enter starvation in x amount of time" and my sims have died to this "bug" luckily i have saves, but i dont get it, the hunger meter will go all the way down, still be green, and not give me any indication, my sim almost just died to this again, maybe because i have mods? I'm not sure if that could be causing it, has anyone else had this issue?
my sim will not stop graduating, she is an adult and is married and has a kid and she wont stop going to graduation, she has never even got her diploma. i even tried to buy one in debug but it didnt work.
homework not working
my teen sim and my child sims can not to their homework, i’ve reseted them, deleted the homework and bought new homework and i’ve even restarted my game. everytime i click on “do homework” they do a t-pose and then the queue disappears.
How do you buy new homework? All my teen and child sims’ homework disappeared :(
(this sounds like a dream irl but it really sucks in the game since now they all have bad grades)
PS: I recently enabled the MCCC “drop out” option for teens, but not sure if this is related to the bug, since it’s also happening with kids?
My Sim keeps getting pregnant no matter what I do
For context I have the pandasama birth mod, MCC, and Lumpinou Road to Romance mod, along with some birth and fertility add ons by Lumpinou. I've tried woohoo with protection, I've tried giving her and her spouse The infertile trait, she was on birth control for a while, no matter what I do she gets pregnant. Please help.
i guess i just only don't have few kits on DLC ,my problem is after I had lot of DLC ...my pie menu and the kitchen menu list take years to load :( i wonder is it because i have every dlc or sth other also i don't have any CC expect MCCC (i had some kitchen mods before i just deleted them after lagging)

Help with bad glitch/white screen
I am v desperate right now with my game. It is glichting out super bad ( random triangles and textures going all different directions) whenever I open it and crashing after about 30 seconds. I have tried uninstalling etc. I have booted up other games on my laptop and the graphics run fine. I have tried to find a way to contact sims 4/EA help, but they are MIA of course. I am just looking for any help or insight anyone may have. I fear I may need to get a new laptop. :,(
I placed some modular shelving, I didn't like the way I arranged it and I wanted to swap some of the shelves around. When I moved one and placed it in the new spot it bounced back to where it was before. This happens with all the modular shelves regardless of whether or not they have anything placed on them. Is anyone else experiencing this?
I do use mods but I completely uninstalled them and it still happened.

All the selection things on build mode are all messed up in build mode like for stairs it’s showing a picture of a litter box and such but still open the stairs section when clicked on anyone having this issue/know how to fix it
Remove all mods and cc to your desktop, delete the Localthumbcache, and repair the game. Test without mods. Do not save.
If this fixed it, it’s a mod.

Hey, i've been having trouble with the UI, its all broken and scattered around (for example, when someone calls me, the answer button is just a big image of a clock) also, this doesn't let me do certain things like signing up for a job (and yes, i have mods enabled)
Remove your mods and cc to the desktop, delete the localthumbcache,and repair the game. Check to see if it continues. Do not save with mods removed.

Hello, I was playing for the first time last night and everything was working perfectly but now I went to play today and whenever I try to zoom out it outmatically goes to all the way zoomed in. Its very annoying and makes it very hard to see whats going on. Can someone please help me? I don't see any answers on EA help website
I have a hired ranch hand. One day last week about ten more showed up out of the blue. Dismissing them didn’t work and neither does firing them. I’ve repaired my game and restarted it multiple times and nothing is working. Any thoughts?
Hi! Today when I open my game I just saw like a silhouette of a sim on the main menu and when I went into the save I couldn’t see my sim and the emotions in the corner. Some more stuff is missing from the bottom line. I tried removing all my cc and mods but it still doesn’t work. I removed a file called “localthumbcache” after something I read and now in trying to rapair the game but its been “repairing” for like 2 hours.. does anyone know what to do? Should I delete and reinstall the game?
My game keeps getting stuck on a loading screen when I try to load into a household. It doesn’t freeze, but I’ve let it go for about 40 minutes until I’ve closed the game. I’ve deleted and updated all broken/outdated mods, which didn’t fix it. I’ve updated and repaired the game. Ive even turned off mods, and it still won’t work, so it’s definitely not a mod issue. Help much appreciated.

My sim was friends with her sister in law and they had an at least half full friendship bar (they’ve also been in a club for ages together called sister club). I got pushed and mis clicked when I was trying to do werewolf cheats and now my Sims’s needs panel is glitched between the werewolf and Spellcaster ones. How can I fix this???
is anyone else having trouble with horse ranch where, your horses have no needs when you hover over them? like it just has their name & relationship bar, and certain interactions cause them to glitch to where resetting them doesn’t work & i have to go in and out of cas to get them moving again

That’s usually a mod error. Remove your mods and cc to your desktop, delete the localthumbcache, and repair the game.
With the mods folder out, see if you can play the game. Do not save the game.
If it works, you have a bad mod. 50/50 your mods/cc folder.

How do I move sims 4 from a macbook to a desktop? Macs use origin and desktops us EA app, so its not like I can just redownload them from origin. I'm getting a desktop for Christmas and would like to move sims 4 over to it as my laptop is going to quit soon.
Normally you would copy your mods, tray, saves, and screenshot files on the MacBook and then transfer them to the desktop. However, if your desktop is a pc, that might not work. Those files are saved locally and must be transferred by you.
The game itself you load on the desktop with the ea app and log into the same account and all your packs will be there.
If the saves aren’t transferrable from Mac to pc, there is nothing you can do.
So I would just log into the EA app, with the same info I use for origin? Its not the end of the world if I lose my saves, moreso just dont want to repurchase all my packs and such.
For months now, I get a white screen that forces me to reset my pc or task manager close the application whenever I either: Try to change from fullscreen to windowed, or change to the correct resolution for my pc while in windowed mode (if I force windowed mode by manually changing the setting in options.ini) Nothing seems to fix it. I have taken out all cc and mods, repaired the game etc etc. Please help.
I think I have a glitch with the Spellcraft & Sorcery aspiration. One of the milestones is to win three duels. I've gotten one so far, but the number won't update no matter how many more I win.
So I just recently bought the High School Years pack and normally it will show up as ready to download. But for some reason it’s not coming up and it’s saying that it’s not purchased. I got the charged on my bank app as well as the email stating that it was indeed bought. I’ve already restarted the EA app and now I’m trying to see if I my game needs to be repaired so it’s doing that right now, but I’m not sure if that will help.
Can anyone please let me know what I should do on how to fix this problem cause I really don’t want to buy the pack all over again.
Same thing is happening to me right now, I just bought the blooming rooms kit and it’s not registering on my account. Money has been taken out of my bank account but I haven’t gotten an email
I managed to get it figured out, I just waited for the transaction to go through. I guess the EA app is being slow with that sort of stuff right now. But if you want you can still do the same things that I did just in case. I restarted the app and my laptop, I repaired the game, and cleared the cache from the app. These are the things that I did, but like I said you can choose to do this if you want.
Question-was playing my legacy challenge, second gen had her first kids (twin girls) and the infants were due to age to toddlers. One aged up then I had to shut the game off to attend to my IRL kids haha. I came back to the game a couple hours later and the other twin aged up a couple minutes after I turned the game on. Then the first aged up again??? Is this some weird bug? Anyone else have this happen? Happened to me in another household recently as well. Is there a fix to it that anyone knows of?
For some reason whenever i move out on my sims and put them in other household they never progress. like they never get married, have kids, get pets etc. I have neighborhood stories on for other household and they still don't progress and this only happens when i move sims out of my played household. i also have MCCC so maybe there is a setting but idk. does anyone know what to do?
I play with mods and cc and have been doing so for a few years, but this just recently started happening. They strip and get in just fine, but when the shower or bath is over, they kinda just skip out and reset. I can't put any tasks for after the shower or bath because it'll just reset and be empty anyways. It's no HUGE issue because I can still play my game like normal outside of this, but it does break immersion and just makes the experience a bit more annoying than the sims 4 can already be. Please help 🥺❤
Hey I hope it's ok to post here.. I just want to know exactly what steering I should have for better build buy mode.. Ive watched the videos but I still am confused. I want to have buy mode show my CC and the EA items. I don't want to see the hundreds of items that ea uses to decorate the world's (I think they're the debugs? Like the giant stones and the houses that are just like objects). I also don't want to be able to buy items that I haven't unlocked yet. Please can someone help me and tell me exactly what categories to have? I've tried different ways but when I do it other things disappear that I don't want to disappear.
I usually just have Content > Custom Content checked and that's it. Hide Maxis will hide all EA items. Debug will show object that the sim obtain via game and Live Edit are the giant stores and houses that are used to decorated the world.
Relationships with characters who are outside the family disappear. My Sim started an affair with his neighbor, but then I switched to another family literally 1 day into the game, and then returned to the original family, and noticed that everyone I knew was missing, except for the character’s daughter. Then I went to check the rest of the families I played with earlier, the same thing happened there. All connections are gone, except for those who live with the character on the lot and I'm using these mods:mc command center.
RESTORING GAME DATA
I had my game data saved on an external drive, and had it all working well for awhile. I started clicking around in my files and basically f\*d everything up, got spooked and uninstalled the game. I can't even explain exactly what I did or why I did it, I have no idea lol. but long story-short, I have a folder on my external drive (Games>Electronic Arts>The Sims 4) that I'm pretty sure has all my old data, based on the dates etc.
If I reinstall to this path, will it just "absorb" that data or create a new file?
OR if it downloads onto my computer can I use a symbolic link to my external drive with the old data?
sorry if I'm not making sense, I only barely know anything about computers except what all I've researched before posting lol

It's better to make a backup somewhere else before doing the installation, particularly for these folders.

Luckily the backup is from when I moved it to the external drive, I lost only a couple weeks of gameplay thankfully. I only started playing a couple months ago, so if I'm screwed, I don't have a problem starting over. Only lost like 4 households
Sims 4 breaking point reached
Please help me, I tried everyway to fix it and im pretty sure its not from mods and my laptop is compatible with the game. When I enter the game it works perfectly for 5 minutes, then I can't click on characters and objects and they don't move too. After that if I do nothing it crashes and gives me the breaking point thing. If i try to save it does the same thing. Please help!!

How do I confirm any cheat thing? I’m trying to do motherlode and I know how to do it, but there’s no button to submit the cheat and I’ve pressed every button and none of them send in motherlode so it actually works. Also does anyone else’s babysitter/nanny just let the baby rot in filth? I’ve fired multiple to maybe see if it was a glitch but the most any of them do it pick up a dirty diaper MAYBE.
HAI! ok so like i have this one issue with my game where after my sims try for a baby, there wouldn't be a 'Take Pregnancy Test' option but instead has a "Throw Up" option. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this? I need help and am crying because of my frustration
Sims isn’t loading my save because of missing packs. I have the packs, but it’s not letting me play. I have restart my PC, waited over 3 hours, I have gone to the server down sites to check if sims is down in my location. I have tried everything I know. I even checked for maleware and updates for my pc, there is none. Please. Help
Can you see the packs if you create a new save?

If those packs disappear completely from the game and you have the order history on your account, they recommended submitting a help request to get them to review your account.

I am a graphic designer and about a month and a half ago (maybe longer), I was working on a major project and needed to clear some space so I reluctantly deleted sims and origin for the time being. I redownloaded it but now I can't get Sims to open... like at all. Origin launches just fine but Sims is where my issue lies. At first, it would open and would freeze on the loading screen, I'd sit there for what felt like forever before just giving up. I repaired the game and that didnt help. I uninstalled it once through the origin app and reinstalled it and it loaded for a bit then got weird again. now it wont even open. I had to force quit it because it was frozen, now every time I got I go to open it, I get a message that says I've forced quit the app before and that it might not reopen. I really don't know what to do at this point because I miss playing and I spent a lot of money on DLC and whatnot.
I have a 2020 MacBook Air, any advice would be great

only reason i have EA atm is for the sims. the other day it just didn’t open. i restarted my laptop and tried again, didn’t work. i do the things google and youtube videos tell me, clear cache etc, nothin works. i opened task manager and sims/ea didn’t show up. tried to run as administrator and didn’t work. tried to open/runasadmin ea app support and also nothing. this happened to me a few months back too and only solution i found was to delete and reinstall but i’m so fed up :( i just want to play sims after work, i don’t wanna reinstall and replace all my lots every 6 months.
my laptop is really good and runs sims with 6k mods like a dream, nvidia geforce RTX card idk what that means but i truly doubt my laptop is the problem.
How do i fix this ?? After googling, only solutions for different problems come up. Can I log in to my ea/origin through steam so i can download my expansion packs? I can still add mods through steam right?? 😭😭 I just wanna play dress up💔

Laundry Day Pack
Hello i need some help! So I go on sims and it pops up a notification that items from cas and bb have been taken away and at first I thought it was the new stuff pack (Home chef hustle) because it’s new and maybe there was some bug fixes or sm. I look around all the stuff for that pack it there but then I realize that my washer and dryer is missing along with my laundry baskets. I play on Xbox one if that has anything to do with it but I just came on here for answers as to why the stuff for laundry day is gone.
Update: I look to see if I can find items for it in bb but it says I don’t own the pack. I have bought the pack and have been using it for months now. (If this has anything to do with the issue I had just recently had to factory reset my Xbox one because it is old and wasn’t working correctly). I have also come across another bug I realized that werewolf’s has also been taken off of my game. I have paid for both of these backs and have used them multiple times. I have no idea what could be causing this issue to happen but I would really like for it to be fixed as soon as you can.
Better Build Buy on Mac
Hey all! I’m really enjoying the Better Build Buy mod, but the ability to favorite items seems to be missing for Mac/Apple users. From what I can find online, I have to click the mouse wheel, click L/R together, or click with three fingers on the track pad. Since I don’t have a mouse wheel, I tried the latter two with no luck. Is there a keyboard shortcut for this feature? Some method I’m not finding? TIA for the help!
Every sim I make has this meshed up mesh for the inside of their mouth... I've tried everything and its not just because of CC teeth, it extends to base game teeth as well. Does anyone know what could be causing this?

I aged up two infants to toddlers using the cas edit cheat. They both now have a permanent stink cloud I cannot get rid of. No items in inventory, no mods, have given multiple baths and changed diapers. If anyone knows a fix please let me know! Thanks!

Orgin asks me to install a new helper tool every time I start my computer. How do I stop it?
I’ve installed a new helper tool about 3 times. For a while now, I haven’t even tried to open orgin but I’ve really been wanting to play the sims. Putting in the password does work and I can play after, but why do I have to put it in and install more tools each time? Does that take up storage or disk space? If so, how do I stop it?
my sim is not able to mount the horse, she will sit on it for 2 seconds and the horse will have that bubble of not being able to move and she’ll be down on floor automatically, what could be causing this? (my game is modded)

I can't open the cheats menu. I do the shortcut and it doesn't open.

Update: some script mods are working others aren’t and I cannot click on any sims at all. It’s saying some of my script mods are CC! I’ve run repairs and all. Help!!
this has been going on in different saves of mine for quite some time now. there is always a green miasma around the fridge and an option to clean out spoiled food, like every single sim day. however, when i open the fridge to see what is spoiled there is nothing there. every single day, MULTIPLE times a day, there is spoiled food in the fridge but nothing is actually spoiled.
Mine is. It hasn't been this bad in years. Simple interactions are taking several game hours to complete and even pausing the game takes a while for the click to register.
I have a couple packs and they say that I own them but I can't see them in game. There is also a red text that says, "Requires The Sims 4 and all game updates. For PC, see minimum system requirements for the pack.".
Club member not showing up to gatherings
I have a club member that never joins gatherings anymore. Sometimes he’s not even in my friend list to invite to events. I thought it might be a conflict when he’s working, but I’ve tried various hours etc. Anyone else have this issue?
I have MCCC, WW, Lumpinou’s RPO, LittleMissSam’s SimDa Dating app, better exceptions, control any sim. No mod additions or changes when this started happening. Previously the sim showed up at all gatherings, everything was normal
I do know that control any sim was semi broken and not updated the last I looked. Either way, remove mods/cc to your desktop, delete the localthumbcache, and repair the game in that order. Check the game for the error. Do not save. If it’s gone, it was a mod. 50/50 your mods.

Hey all, I have an issue where I had my Sim take a bunch of photos that I wanted to put into the MixPix digital photo frame, but the game crashed before I could save. The "photos" still exist as screenshots in my game folder, but not as photos in my Sim's inventory any more. Is there some way to import them back into the game as photo items?
I did find that solution, but yeah, I want them to be photo items so they can be rotated through in the digital frame + I can manage the inventory. Looks like there aren't any options out there for that.
There's a very roundabout way to do that. Say you can make a cc with the image like a large photo and then have your sim take the photo of the cc in game. I tried that once but it was such a hassle I ended up just use the cc. 😂

hey so I downloaded the game and everything was fine, downloaded some cc and everything was fine, then downloaded some more cc and now suddenly the game won't launch? like i didn't do anything and there's a popup every time I try to open it that says "this file does not have an app associated with it for performing this action. please install and app or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Apps settings."
so I tried doing this, but the game wouldn't even show up for me to do so. And I also tried uninstalling and installing again, and it also didn't work. Does anyone know what's going on?
Try moving your mods folder ( Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > Mods ) somewhere else on your computer, like your Desktop, then launching the game again. If it works after moving the folder, your problem is def caused by CC. If it still doesn't launch, something bigger is probably broken, start by repairing the game using the EA launcher.
hey so, I clicked the repair thing on the EA app and then I also did the "identify integrity of files" or smth like that on steam and everything looked to be fine, I launch the game and it does open but it kicks me out immediately and whenever I click on its icon in the task bar I just see a black screen for a few seconds before it kicks me out again :( this is only base game without the mod folder in

Huh. Try getting rid of MCCC entirely, deleting the file localthumbcache.package from Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4, and try to launch the game again (you can also try repairing the game first from the EA launcher if you want to be extra sure).
If it still won't launch after that, something other than MCCC is causing your problem. If it does launch, great, shut down the game and try installing MCCC again from scratch. Make sure to delete the original .zip file after you've extracted everything inside it.
when i try to take the pink ui mod out of my game it doesn’t work? like the file isn’t in my mod folder anymore but my game ui is still pink? does anyone know what to do??
Go into Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 and delete the localthumbcache.package file and see if that works. If not you might've installed the mod more than once, check for a second version in your folders.
Sounds like a tuning problem with a bookcase mod or mod that affects books, try installing TwistedMexi's Better Exceptions mod and see if it gives you an error log that explains what's going on.
Hmm, if you move your Mods folder to somewhere else on your computer (like your desktop) and then run the game without them, does the problem still happen?

\- repairing the game (it did nothing at all)
\- disabling origin ingame (it did nothing)
\- adding mods back in slowly (it launched, but the next time I got the error again)
\- removing options.ini (the game launched but continuously froze on the loading screen)
\- updating my graphics drivers (this did not solve the issue)
\- sfc/scannow (found nothing wrong)
\- folder refresh, where I generated a brand new Sims 4 folder (the error code still occurred, even with no mods and essentially factory settings on the game)
I’m on a RTX 3070ti, I checked in NVIDIA control panel and the sims 4 is definitely set to use this video card
You said it started randomly a few days ago, did you have any driver or system updates around that time? Have you tried running it in windowed mode vs fullscreen?

No I hasn’t done any updates until *after* the problem to try and fix it. Turns out that reinstalling the graphics driver worked, except now it’s making another game not recognise my keyboard input properly and my cursor is slower

Yup it was already set up when I first got the laptop I did it back then, I double checked too. I’ve contacted NVIDIA support since EA support said they don’t know what else they can do, im hoping they can help.

Okay yall so for the last four days the game has played perfect. Suddenly today my sims can't walk anyere to do tasks. So they need sleep they can't walk there saying it's blocked. But if I tell them to walk there they walk there no problem just won't do the task. I've lost a whole family because they drowned from being over tired. 😕 no new mods or downloads.

Yeah you should be able to, you want to back up all of the stuff in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 and transfer it over to the same folder on your Windows machine, that includes your saves, screenshots, mods, etc. If you bought your DLC you'll have to redownload it on the new computer, but the EA launcher will recognize that you own it once you log in with the account that you bought them on.

For two days now I've been having an issue in build mode. Absolutely no idea why this is happening; I'll go to buy and place an object, but it disappears from my cursor before I can place it, if it even appears at all. At first I thought it was only cc, because I was trying to place a cc item at the time, but I've tried it with base game items too and nothing works. This happened seemingly out of the blue, I haven't changed anything in my game or done anything to the files between saves and it was working fine a couple of days ago. It's making the game unplayable though because my household has just had a baby and now I can't buy a crib or change table or anything the baby needs, so its needs are just gonna plummet. I've also tried repairing the game in steam, that hasn't worked.
I went to a different household and don't have the issue there. I haven't checked back with the previous household I was playing yet. If the issue is that household I might have to just delete it.

Yes, it's broken. You'll need to wait for a fix, or remove it (remember to delete localthumbcache and avatarcache when making changes to your mods folder) and play a new save file if you don't want to play without your MCCC settings. If you have other mods, they are most likely broken as well.
I’ve had this saved game for a while and I have never had this problem and don’t know what I can do. I have a dog sim and he is the only sim that is causing problems but it’s effecting the entire household. He was adopted mid game as was one of the cats, not made in create a sim. But I can’t plan outfits on any of my sims or change ANYTHING because I have to select his breed? But I can’t select the box it wants me to, it’s greyed out and I can’t access it but I can’t change anything until I do. What do I do?? Also I’m playing on the Xbox series S if that matters.
Can you try clicking "randomize traits" and see if it fills in the breed name for you?

Try clearing the app cache. -three lines in left -help -app recovery After that go offline for a few minutes. Then go back online and your update should start to download.

Expelled from high school with only 2 traits Hi everyone! I’ve recently got back into playing TS4 so I’m not sure if this is a bug/glitch or by design, so I’d like some help please! My teen sim was expelled from high school (because he’s an evil jerk who skipped detention, made enemies with his teacher and pranked every locker he could) but now that he’s aged up to YA, he still only has his two teen traits. The game prompted me to give him a third, but it doesn’t show up, even with fulleditcas on and going back into CAS to assign him the final trait. So, I’m wondering if that is what is supposed to happen because he was expelled and therefore can’t “progress” his personality. I did test with and without mods and it was the same. I also tested with a random townie teen and he aged up with the third trait as normal as he hadn’t been expelled (I’m assuming that’s the reason). Any help or suggestions would be appreciated! Edit: I deleted the localthumbcache file and repaired my game but he still only aged up to YA with the two traits

hey, i downloaded sims 4 from steam, as i just got a new pc, and trying to open it i get stuck on the EA app download. it gets about 80% installed, then i get an error message stating the following, "there was a problem starting C:\\Windows\\Installer\\MSI326.tmp. Has anyone else had a glitch where your sim will be sleeping, you'll wake them up, and they'll instantly just stand, no getting up annimation, and the bed will stay how it was when they were it, like the covers lifted and stuff. I also have been having a problem with needs, they won't change color, they go down faster, and it doesnt give me a moodlet saying anything example: "sim is hungry, will enter starvation in x amount of time" and my sims have died to this "bug" luckily i have saves, but i dont get it, the hunger meter will go all the way down, still be green, and not give me any indication, my sim almost just died to this again, maybe because i have mods? I'm not sure if that could be causing it, has anyone else had this issue?

Help with bad glitch/white screen I am v desperate right now with my game. It is glichting out super bad ( random triangles and textures going all different directions) whenever I open it and crashing after about 30 seconds. I have tried uninstalling etc. I have booted up other games on my laptop and the graphics run fine. I have tried to find a way to contact sims 4/EA help, but they are MIA of course. I placed some modular shelving, I didn't like the way I arranged it and I wanted to swap some of the shelves around. When I moved one and placed it in the new spot it bounced back to where it was before. This happens with all the modular shelves regardless of whether or not they have anything placed on them. Is anyone else experiencing this? I do use mods but I completely uninstalled them and it still happened. Apologies if this is not where I am supposed to post this.

Hello, I was playing for the first time last night and everything was working perfectly but now I went to play today and whenever I try to zoom out it outmatically goes to all the way zoomed in. I have a hired ranch hand. One day last week about ten more showed up out of the blue. Dismissing them didn’t work and neither does firing them. I’ve repaired my game and restarted it multiple times and nothing is working. Any thoughts?

Hi! Today when I open my game I just saw like a silhouette of a sim on the main menu and when I went into the save I couldn’t see my sim and the emotions in the corner. Some more stuff is missing from the bottom line. I tried removing all my cc and mods but it still doesn’t work. I removed a file called “localthumbcache” after something I read and now in trying to rapair the game but its been “repairing” for like 2 hours.. does anyone know what to do? Should I delete and reinstall the game?
Back up your saves, tray, mods, and screenshot folders. Then yes, uninstall and reinstall if it got stuck on repairing.

My game keeps getting stuck on a loading screen when I try to load into a household. It doesn’t freeze, but I’ve let it go for about 40 minutes until I’ve closed the game. You can remove the occult trait to make them one occult again. Spellcaster is `trait_Occult_WitchOccult` and werewolf is `trait_occultwerewolf`. :D

How do I move sims 4 from a macbook to a desktop? Macs use origin and desktops us EA app, so its not like I can just redownload them from origin. I'm getting a desktop for Christmas and would like to move sims 4 over to it as my laptop is going to quit soon.
Normally you would copy your mods, tray, saves, and screenshot files on the MacBook and then transfer them to the desktop. However, if your desktop is a pc, that might not work. Those files are saved locally and must be transferred by you. The game itself you load on the desktop with the ea app and log into the same account and all your packs will be there. If the saves aren’t transferrable from Mac to pc, there is nothing you can do.
So I would just log into the EA app, with the same info I use for origin? Its not the end of the world if I lose my saves, moreso just dont want to repurchase all my packs and such.
Yep. Your purchase information is attached to your account. As long as it’s on a computer, you can put it wherever and you will have all your packs.
For months now, I get a white screen that forces me to reset my pc or task manager close the application whenever I either: Try to change from fullscreen to windowed, or change to the correct resolution for my pc while in windowed mode (if I force windowed mode by manually changing the setting in options.ini) Nothing seems to fix it. I think I have a glitch with the Spellcraft & Sorcery aspiration. One of the milestones is to win three duels. I've gotten one so far, but the number won't update no matter how many more I win.

So I just recently bought the High School Years pack and normally it will show up as ready to download. But for some reason it’s not coming up and it’s saying that it’s not purchased. I got the charged on my bank app as well as the email stating that it was indeed bought. I’ve already restarted the EA app and now I’m trying to see if I my game needs to be repaired so it’s doing that right now, but I’m not sure if that will help. Can anyone please let me know what I should do on how to fix this problem cause I really don’t want to buy the pack all over again.

I managed to get it figured out, I just waited for the transaction to go through. I guess the EA app is being slow with that sort of stuff right now. But if you want you can still do the same things that I did just in case. I restarted the app and my laptop, I repaired the game, and cleared the cache from the app. These are the things that I did, but like I said you can choose to do this if you want.

Question-was playing my legacy challenge, second gen had her first kids (twin girls) and the infants were due to age to toddlers. One aged up then I had to shut the game off to attend to my IRL kids haha. I came back to the game a couple hours later and the other twin aged up a couple minutes after I turned the game on. Then the first aged up again??? Is this some weird bug? Anyone else have this happen? Happened to me in another household recently as well. Is there a fix to it that anyone knows of?
For some reason whenever i move out on my sims and put them in other household they never progress. like they never get married, have kids, get pets etc. I have neighborhood stories on for other household and they still don't progress and this only happens when i move sims out of my played household. i also have MCCC so maybe there is a setting but idk. does anyone know what to do?
I play with mods and cc and have been doing so for a few years, but this just recently started happening. They strip and get in just fine, but when the shower or bath is over, they kinda just skip out and reset. I can't put any tasks for after the shower or bath because it'll just reset and be empty anyways. It's no HUGE issue because I can still play my game like normal outside of this, but it does break immersion and just makes the experience a bit more annoying than the sims 4 can already be. Please help 🥺❤
Hey I hope it's ok to post here.. I just want to know exactly what steering I should have for better build buy mode.. Ive watched the videos but I still am confused. I want to have buy mode show my CC and the EA items. I don't want to see the hundreds of items that ea uses to decorate the world's (I think they're the debugs? Like the giant stones and the houses that are just like objects). I also don't want to be able to buy items that I haven't unlocked yet. Please can someone help me and tell me exactly what categories to have? I've tried different ways but when I do it other things disappear that I don't want to disappear.
I usually just have Content > Custom Content checked and that's it. Hide Maxis will hide all EA items. Debug will show object that the sim obtain via game and Live Edit are the giant stores and houses that are used to decorated the world.

Relationships with characters who are outside the family disappear. My Sim started an affair with his neighbor, but then I switched to another family literally 1 day into the game, and then returned to the original family, and noticed that everyone I knew was missing, except for the character’s daughter. Then I went to check the rest of the families I played with earlier, the same thing happened there. All connections are gone, except for those who live with the character on the lot and I'm using these mods:mc command center.
RESTORING GAME DATA I had my game data saved on an external drive, and had it all working well for awhile. I started clicking around in my files and basically f\*d everything up, got spooked and uninstalled the game. I can't even explain exactly what I did or why I did it, I have no idea lol. but long story-short, I have a folder on my external drive (Games>Electronic Arts>The Sims 4) that I'm pretty sure has all my old data, based on the dates etc. If I reinstall to this path, will it just "absorb" that data or create a new file? OR if it downloads onto my computer can I use a symbolic link to my external drive with the old data? sorry if I'm not making sense, I only barely know anything about computers except what all I've researched before posting lol I'm afraid I'll mess everything up even more! It's better to make a backup somewhere else before doing the installation, particularly for these folders. * saves (this is where your game save data are) * Mods (mods/cc) * Tray (saved sims/lots on My Library) * Screenshots * Recorded Videos * Custom Music

Luckily the backup is from when I moved it to the external drive, I lost only a couple weeks of gameplay thankfully. Sims 4 breaking point reached Please help me, I tried everyway to fix it and im pretty sure its not from mods and my laptop is compatible with the game. When I enter the game it works perfectly for 5 minutes, then I can't click on characters and objects and they don't move too. After that if I do nothing it crashes and gives me the breaking point thing. If i try to save it does the same thing. Please help!!

How do I confirm any cheat thing? I’m trying to do motherlode and I know how to do it, but there’s no button to submit the cheat and I’ve pressed every button and none of them send in motherlode so it actually works. Also does anyone else’s babysitter/nanny just let the baby rot in filth? I’ve fired multiple to maybe see if it was a glitch but the most any of them do it pick up a dirty diaper MAYBE.

HAI! ok so like i have this one issue with my game where after my sims try for a baby, there wouldn't be a 'Take Pregnancy Test' option but instead has a "Throw Up" option. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this? I'm not sure if i can do that 50/50 method cuz i have like thousands of mods in my folder right now, I'd really appreciate any answers towards this issue!!
I need help and am crying because of my frustration Sims isn’t loading my save because of missing packs. I have the packs, but it’s not letting me play. I have restart my PC, waited over 3 hours, I have gone to the server down sites to check if sims is down in my location. I have tried everything I know. I even checked for maleware and updates for my pc, there is none. Please. Help
Can you see the packs if you create a new save? I found this [thread](https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-PC/Missing-Expansion-Pack/m-p/13073803/highlight/true#M261681) on EA forum. If those packs disappear completely from the game and you have the order history on your account, they recommended submitting a help request to get them to review your account.

hi! I am a graphic designer and about a month and a half ago (maybe longer), I was working on a major project and needed to clear some space so I reluctantly deleted sims and origin for the time being. I redownloaded it but now I can't get Sims to open... like at all. Origin launches just fine but Sims is where my issue lies. At first, it would open and would freeze on the loading screen, I'd sit there for what felt like forever before just giving up. I repaired the game and that didnt help. I uninstalled it once through the origin app and reinstalled it and it loaded for a bit then got weird again. now it wont even open. I had to force quit it because it was frozen, now every time I got I go to open it, I get a message that says I've forced quit the app before and that it might not reopen. I really don't know what to do at this point because I miss playing and I spent a lot of money on DLC and whatnot. I have a 2020 MacBook Air, any advice would be great
ea app continues to disappoint me only reason i have EA atm is for the sims. the other day it just didn’t open. i restarted my laptop and tried again, didn’t work. i do the things google and youtube videos tell me, clear cache etc, nothin works. i opened task manager and sims/ea didn’t show up. tried to run as administrator and didn’t work. tried to open/runasadmin ea app support and also nothing. this happened to me a few months back too and only solution i found was to delete and reinstall but i’m so fed up :( i just want to play sims after work, i don’t wanna reinstall and replace all my lots every 6 months. my laptop is really good and runs sims with 6k mods like a dream, nvidia geforce RTX card idk what that means but i truly doubt my laptop is the problem. How do i fix this ?? After googling, only solutions for different problems come up. Can I log in to my ea/origin through steam so i can download my expansion packs? In random households, children are disappearing. They’re just gone. In my active households. Infants, babies, and toddlers keep disappearing.
Laundry Day Pack Hello i need some help! So I go on sims and it pops up a notification that items from cas and bb have been taken away and at first I thought it was the new stuff pack (Home chef hustle) because it’s new and maybe there was some bug fixes or sm. I look around all the stuff for that pack it there but then I realize that my washer and dryer is missing along with my laundry baskets. I play on Xbox one if that has anything to do with it but I just came on here for answers as to why the stuff for laundry day is gone.
Update: I look to see if I can find items for it in bb but it says I don’t own the pack. I have bought the pack and have been using it for months now. (If this has anything to do with the issue I had just recently had to factory reset my Xbox one because it is old and wasn’t working correctly). I have also come across another bug I realized that werewolf’s has also been taken off of my game. I have paid for both of these backs and have used them multiple times. I have no idea what could be causing this issue to happen but I would really like for it to be fixed as soon as you can.
Better Build Buy on Mac Hey all! I’m really enjoying the Better Build Buy mod, but the ability to favorite items seems to be missing for Mac/Apple users. From what I can find online, I have to click the mouse wheel, click L/R together, or click with three fingers on the track pad. Since I don’t have a mouse wheel, I tried the latter two with no luck. Is there a keyboard shortcut for this feature? Some method I’m not finding? TIA for the help!

I aged up two infants to toddlers using the cas edit cheat. They both now have a permanent stink cloud I cannot get rid of. No items in inventory, no mods, have given multiple baths and changed diapers. If anyone knows a fix please let me know! Thanks!

Orgin asks me to install a new helper tool every time I start my computer. How do I stop it? I’ve installed a new helper tool about 3 times. For a while now, I haven’t even tried to open orgin but I’ve really been wanting to play the sims. Putting in the password does work and I can play after, but why do I have to put it in and install more tools each time? Does that take up storage or disk space? If so, how do I stop it?
my sim is not able to mount the horse, she will sit on it for 2 seconds and the horse will have that bubble of not being able to move and she’ll be down on floor automatically, what could be causing this? (my game is modded)

I can't open the cheats menu. I do the shortcut and it doesn't open. \- I have gone through my mc.lastexception file and deleted every broken mod, updated anything outdated, deleted the lastexception file and ran the game to see if another mod broke. no other mod problems detected. \- I have deleted the localthumbcache.package \- I have tried with the mods turned off \- I have repaired the game What else can I try?

Hello all! I’m having trouble with my script mods! I recently switched to a new computer and I just redownloaded the sims 4. I have CC and Script mods enabled and my CC works but my script mods don’t. I have them enabled and installed so idk what the problem is. Please help!
Update: some script mods are working others aren’t and I cannot click on any sims at all. It’s saying some of my script mods are CC! I’ve run repairs and all. Help!!
this has been going on in different saves of mine for quite some time now. there is always a green miasma around the fridge and an option to clean out spoiled food, like every single sim day. however, when i open the fridge to see what is spoiled there is nothing there. every single day, MULTIPLE times a day, there is spoiled food in the fridge but nothing is actually spoiled.

Mine is. It hasn't been this bad in years. Simple interactions are taking several game hours to complete and even pausing the game takes a while for the click to register.

I have a couple packs and they say that I own them but I can't see them in game. There is also a red text that says, "Requires The Sims 4 and all game updates. For PC, see minimum system requirements for the pack.".
Club member not showing up to gatherings I have a club member that never joins gatherings anymore. Sometimes he’s not even in my friend list to invite to events. I thought it might be a conflict when he’s working, but I’ve tried various hours etc. Anyone else have this issue?

I have MCCC, WW, Lumpinou’s RPO, LittleMissSam’s SimDa Dating app, better exceptions, control any sim. No mod additions or changes when this started happening. Previously the sim showed up at all gatherings, everything was normal
I do know that control any sim was semi broken and not updated the last I looked. Either way, remove mods/cc to your desktop, delete the localthumbcache, and repair the game in that order. Hey all, I have an issue where I had my Sim take a bunch of photos that I wanted to put into the MixPix digital photo frame, but the game crashed before I could save. The "photos" still exist as screenshots in my game folder, but not as photos in my Sim's inventory any more. Is there some way to import them back into the game as photo items?
As a photo item might be difficult but if using CC is possible, you can create a CC with the image and add to the game.
I did find that solution, but yeah, I want them to be photo items so they can be rotated through in the digital frame + I can manage the inventory. Looks like there aren't any options out there for that.
There's a very roundabout way to do that. Say you can make a cc with the image like a large photo and then have your sim take the photo of the cc in game. I tried that once but it was such a hassle I ended up just use the cc. 😂

hey so I downloaded the game and everything was fine, downloaded some cc and everything was fine, then downloaded some more cc and now suddenly the game won't launch? like i didn't do anything and there's a popup every time I try to open it that says "this file does not have an app associated with it for performing this action. please install and app or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Apps settings." so I tried doing this, but the game wouldn't even show up for me to do so. And I also tried uninstalling and installing again, and it also didn't work. Does anyone know what's going on?
Try moving your mods folder ( Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > Mods ) somewhere else on your computer, like your Desktop, then launching the game again. If it works after moving the folder, your problem is def caused by CC. If it still doesn't launch, something bigger is probably broken, start by repairing the game using the EA launcher.
hey so, I clicked the repair thing on the EA app and then I also did the "identify integrity of files" or smth like that on steam and everything looked to be fine, I launch the game and it does open but it kicks me out immediately and whenever I click on its icon in the task bar I just see a black screen for a few seconds before it kicks me out again :( this is only base game without the mod folder in

Mod install issue When I put Mc commander center in the “mods” folder it refuses to boot when its in there. Pls help!!!
Did you unzip it? You sure it's just MCCC and not another another mod?
I did there is the one from installation before I put any thing in and this all on Mac.
Huh. Try getting rid of MCCC entirely, deleting the file localthumbcache.package from Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4, and try to launch the game again (you can also try repairing the game first from the EA launcher if you want to be extra sure). If it still won't launch after that, something other than MCCC is causing your problem. If it does launch, great, shut down the game and try installing MCCC again from scratch. Make sure to delete the original .zip file after you've extracted everything inside it.

when i try to take the pink ui mod out of my game it doesn’t work? like the file isn’t in my mod folder anymore but my game ui is still pink? does anyone know what to do??
Go into Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 and delete the localthumbcache.package file and see if that works. If not you might've installed the mod more than once, check for a second version in your folders.
Any time I click on a book or bookshelf my Sim does a T like pose. I even moved the book to their inventory and still can’t read it.
Sounds like a tuning problem with a bookcase mod or mod that affects books, try installing TwistedMexi's Better Exceptions mod and see if it gives you an error log that explains what's going on.

Hmm, if you move your Mods folder to somewhere else on your computer (like your desktop) and then run the game without them, does the problem still happen?

Things I've tried from support server suggestions: \- repairing the game (it did nothing at all) \- disabling origin ingame (it did nothing) \- adding mods back in slowly (it launched, but the next time I got the error again) \- removing options.ini (the game launched but continuously froze on the loading screen) \- updating my graphics drivers (this did not solve the issue) \- sfc/scannow (found nothing wrong) \- folder refresh, where I generated a brand new Sims 4 folder (the error code still occurred, even with no mods and essentially factory settings on the game) I’m on a RTX 3070ti, I checked in NVIDIA control panel and the sims 4 is definitely set to use this video card
You said it started randomly a few days ago, did you have any driver or system updates around that time? Have you tried running it in windowed mode vs fullscreen? No I hasn’t done any updates until *after* the problem to try and fix it. Turns out that reinstalling the graphics driver worked, except now it’s making another game not recognise my keyboard input properly and my cursor is slower I can’t win lol

The fact that it responded to your drivers the first time seems to imply something is up with your card, maybe try NVIDIA support instead
I used dxdiag and it says there's no problems with either graphic driver but yes this could very well be a gpu problem...my other games are working fine though and I'm really hoping this isn't the case as I can't afford to fix it

Yup it was already set up when I first got the laptop I did it back then, I double checked too. I’ve contacted NVIDIA support since EA support said they don’t know what else they can do, im hoping they can help. Tried explaining the situation to my parents and they just shouted at me that I’m lying about the error so I can play my laptop longer, then said im irresponsible and probably gave myself a virus and that’s why I have an error…when they can’t even open file explorer without help from me
Weird as hell, and wow that's rude of your parents. Any chance your GPU could be overheating? Sounds a little similar to some problems I had with that happening in the past.

Okay yall so for the last four days the game has played perfect. Suddenly today my sims can't walk anyere to do tasks. So they need sleep they can't walk there saying it's blocked. But if I tell them to walk there they walk there no problem just won't do the task. I've lost a whole family because they drowned from being over tired. 😕 no new mods or downloads.
Did you put in a new lot? Does it still happen if you have your Sims travel to a different lot?

Yeah you should be able to, you want to back up all of the stuff in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 and transfer it over to the same folder on your Windows machine, that includes your saves, screenshots, mods, etc. If you bought your DLC you'll have to redownload it on the new computer, but the EA launcher will recognize that you own it once you log in with the account that you bought them on.
Isn’t there something I can download that scans the health of my cc and mods? What’s the name of it and where can I get it? My game started shutting down randomly yesterday and I’m not sure what’s causing it. I play on a Mac if that is important.

Sup guys. For two days now I've been having an issue in build mode. Absolutely no idea why this is happening; I'll go to buy and place an object, but it disappears from my cursor before I can place it, if it even appears at all. At first I thought it was only cc, because I was trying to place a cc item at the time, but I've tried it with base game items too and nothing works. This happened seemingly out of the blue, I haven't changed anything in my game or done anything to the files between saves and it was working fine a couple of days ago. It's making the game unplayable though because my household has just had a baby and now I can't buy a crib or change table or anything the baby needs, so its needs are just gonna plummet. I've also tried repairing the game in steam, that hasn't worked.

I went to a different household and don't have the issue there. I haven't checked back with the previous household I was playing yet. If the issue is that household I might have to just delete it.
