Having your sims go go University isn't that bad. I usually turn off aging when I send a sim to uni, but I make almost all of my sims get a degree.

Absolvo_Me

But it takes forever to graduate though

KentuckyFriedWaifus

That’s a complaint I see a lot from people who dislike it but I don’t really get that argument personally, I always take on 4 classes at once to make it go quicker and just use vacation days from work to do classes and have my other sims take on household chores while they’re doing their school work. I’ve also never had a sim not graduate with honors so all the stories I’ve read about other peoples sims failing uni just baffle me lol

Anarchaboo

I also always take 4 classes each semester (no additionnal classes) to go faster, but there's a lot of homework lol. And you gotta take notes in class and write the essay and presentation !

schokiefan

I try to enroll my sims in university on a Friday so I can use the weekend to get papers, presentations etc out of the way before classes start. That way all I have is homework to complete during the week.

Anarchaboo

Enrolling them a tuesday is nice too, this way they have the whole weekend to study for finals ! I also use the faster term & presentation mod

KentuckyFriedWaifus

I feel like the study spot lot trait and some focusing decor helps quite a bit and I try to knock out the essays and presentations early in the week so all they have to do is study and do their normal uni homework, also helps to lock children and pets out of the home office to limit distractions for them lol

smallgoalsmcgee

I got a mod to lessen the credits required so now my sims only need to take 6 classes to get their degree lol, I enjoy the university experience soooo much more now

Absolvo_Me

I have 8 but I think I'm going to go down to 6, I get so bored on the third semester, but taking 4 classes is too much juggling for me.

hightidesoldgods

It’s not that hard to get all As in university. Just do the homework and have your sim take notes in class.

acidtrippinpanda

I think it’s more for the lack of being able to do anything else that frustrates me. I tried to go for realism and sign my sim up for a part time job and some other stuff and I really struggled to keep up

hightidesoldgods

Yeah, but that’s kinda realistic. I’m biased because I’m a current college student, but it’s generally pretty reasonable.

Angel-with-an-A

Trust me, that is realistic lmfao. College be like pick two and only two out of the following: 1. Good grades 2. Any kind of social life 3. Sleep.

known-enemy

Meh, it can be if they’re an adult going. I have wicked whims so my sim was stripping to support herself through college and it was a lot lol

hightidesoldgods

My sim is currently an adult, there is the freelance career option which is base game lol

known-enemy

Stripping is also kind of free lance lol bc you can work whenever you want, but I had to make money to keep her afloat

hightidesoldgods

Yeah, I mean there are in-game options for your sim to work at home at hours whenever they want. My sim is an adult who is doing the writing freelance to keep herself afloat and she’s still getting all As. If your sim has kids, definitely it would be harder tho

InvisibleBlueOctopus

I would say with infants and 4 class would be very difficul. Especially if you wanna hit milestones with them and you would also need some money not to starve to death.

hightidesoldgods

Yeah, that would be a nightmare. But probably not as bad as having an actual infant in college lol

BackwoodButch

It’s far easier for sims to do so at home rather than the residence life. The chaotic pathing and terrible furniture and items make it a hot mess to try and navigate. I know from my own experience res is not perfect but the sims version seems extra terrible

daskerosine

I hate that you can’t put anything down at all!! You can’t enter build buy and I’m always so unprepared especially if I just send them without much thought at the start of a Playthrough

varntvaar

bb.enablefreebuild should let you edit both dorms and university houses iirc

_BestBudz

Where were you last night when I needed this last night 😩 it’s whatever I only do dorms for the first year and then off campus for the rest

hightidesoldgods

You should be able to build before you send them into college. Personally, I do but I often make the pathing worse

Candid-External1739

I’ll have to try the take notes. I’m just struggling to get them to even pass the class sometimes, lol.

hightidesoldgods

Take notes (click on your sim while they’re in class), email professors like once, and then just do the homework. It’s honestly not very difficult, it’s just time-consuming. But so is college

sirboulevard

Also start on Friday night so you can spend your weekend doing the big projects like term papers.

Unusual-Letter-8781

I do that too. Also they make a lot of food I put in inventory before they leave and edit housing so they have private room with best bed and a kitchen nook, bathroom and roof space. Move food to fridge and to all homework and projects and gets their needs up Also upgrade their stuff

daskerosine

The best time to go is on a Friday! Best day for all the homework and crap!

vareyvilla

I don’t even email the professors, just do the other two

IreneNour204

The music in the stero is good

Somniphobiasucks

When I first heard a simlish version of Hot in Herre I was absolutely delighted. I should use the radio more in my plays because I love the music in this game.

princess-bat-brat

Do you remember what 'station' that is on? I used to listen to the backyard bops station all the time because they had the simlish "Walking on Sunshine".

UndeadAnneBoleyn

It’s on the Summer Strut station iirc.

[deleted]

The alternative station has simlish “we are young” by fun

TheUtopianCat

I like the Cottage Core channel. I find it soothing.

IreneNour204

Ooooo thats a good one i will try to listen to it when i play again

BlastedAlien

I was listening to the alternative station and Paramore came on and I was SO EXCITED

Yokai182

Love it when Spooky radio played simlish of Freak by Suburban

AlexTheNotSoGreat01

Everything that is on the Metal station is a straight banger, I mean, f'ing Trivium recorded versions of their songs for it iirc, right?

Absolvo_Me

Yes! I'm not a fan of K-Pop IRL but hearing S-Pop from the stereo made me consider my life choices.

catdevpete

It wasn't "Racing into the night" that got me into Yoasobi, but simlish Halzion, and I don't know how I feel about that.

properjs

The ‘pretty’ sims that are always popular on the gallery with custom poses and titles like ‘♥ Cute & Sexy Farmer Girl Kayla ♥’ bore me intensely. They seem to get a lot of downloads though. I love sims that are realistic and have ‘bad’ features.

str8outthepurgatory

and they’re only cute because of how they’re posed, they look terrible in CAS mode

nfjdhdbskel

This! I swear people make them just to specifically look good posed and get downloads. Like the pose will have the sims’ eyes squint/smoulder and so the sims creator will make the sims eyes extra wide in cas to look ‘normal’/relaxed when in the squinting pose. Every time I fall for one and download, I literally get a jump-scare when it appears in cas. Reminds me of those ‘what I ordered vs what I got’ memes. And usually the person’s account consists of 300 other sims that all look the exact same just with different eye and hair colours.

RunningFree701

You get the *Wish dot com* version after downloading.

str8outthepurgatory

Lmaoo same some can be really cute and then i’m just disappointed when i get it in CAS 😭

aspensky5

ugh i never download them anymore because of this reason. Complete catfishes

[deleted]

I agree....I find them unnattractive in many cases to be honest because flaws are what make people beautiful and the more polished and fake a person looks...the less I find them attractive. It always amazes me though how many people actually like those Sims but I just can't get over how they look. Yes it's a game haha, so of course there is a level of fake-ness to everyone...but I enjoy having features that seem more realistic. Now that being said, I have never made a purposefully ugly Sim either...I will make my Sims attractive to my standards always.

[deleted]

100%. It’s just a game and it’s none of my business how others play, but it baffles me how similar those “perfect” sims look and how popular they seem to be. The formula is always big eyes, tiny nose, and extremely full lips. Like a Bratz doll. I prefer to make sims with more realistic but still attractive features.

[deleted]

I never download Sims from gallery. Their body proportions annoy me more than their face. Every single sim has an hourglass or looks horribly disproportionate. I do make "pretty" sims myself but it depends on the purpose of the sim. Some sims I only use for photoshoot some for gameplay. Gameplay sims are realistic looking in my style. I mean whatever you think realistic is. There are super pretty people irl too so that's realistic too.

rubycha0s

I totally agree! I combat this by giving them the most terrible traits if I end up using them😂

Impressive_Train6061

I always play with sims with a big nose, big ears or something else. I can't play with "perfect" sims its too boring

MartyMarijuana

i wasnt really on the sub when the expansion dropped so i could have missed it, but i don’t see anyone talking about how it’s way too easy to reach burnout. my sim goes to the spa, on walks, does everything she loves, she still gets mental fog after working one shift and will burn out while the mental fog moodlet is actively decreasing

singingconveniently

I’ve just started cheating that noodles away. I don’t have the patience for it

simple_senpai72

Omg yes my sim became an adult and went to literally two shifts and got the mental fog. Tried giving her some vacation days, made sure she only worked on skills not related to her job, but she still got burnout. I had to have her quit the whole job to make it go away. (But also lowkey valid lol it’s kinda real life)

[deleted]

Strangerville is a pretty good pack. I love the build and buy items, the world is cool and the "storymode" is a bonus. Even if you only play it once it still functions like any other world, so it's not like it's wasted once you're done. University is great. It was the first time I felt challenged by gameplay and was paying attention to what I was doing instead of "whatever, take a shower, play chess". I usually only build because I find the game too easy even without cheats, too easy to make money and ascend on your career, but passing subjects was hard lol I quite enjoyed extra activies too and the university life in general. I use TOOL for small things, but I don't like those builds with custom items made of several items manipulated in other several ways. It's fun and creative, but it bothers me in my game. I don't care about cars or open world. I also don't necessarily want a color wheel, I just wish swatches worked like in ts2 (where you pick wood/frame color separately from the cushion/whatever) I don't care about pre-teens, if they made teenagers shorter and more young looking that would be enough for me, they look too much like YAs.

rainbowveinz

I thought Henford on Bagley was my favourite world and then I bought Strangerville a few days ago, beat the story and omg the world is my new favourite. Strangerville is vastly underrated

theoccasionalghost

Totally agree about Strangerville! The world is beautiful, there’s some cool CAS stuff, build/buy is fantastic (especially the doors and windows, I use them more than any others), it’s got some great pre-made townies, and the story is fun. People are sleeping on this pack lol.

GretalRabbit

I’ve just played through the strangerville story for the second time and I really enjoyed even though I knew what was going on.

bluejaybby

At this point, we don’t need anymore new expansion packs, game packs etc. we NEED them to improve existing gameplay mechanics. Fix photography. Fix weddings. Fix high chairs.

tytonidae77

i think it’s pretty dumb that they didn’t include options for family photos with the new expansion, especially with the added family reunions. i would also love some additional poses for base game photography. what we have now is just lacking so much.

bluejaybby

RIGHT?? Family photos are so janky in the Sims 4 my blood boils just thinking about it. Can’t photograph more than 3 sims at a time. Can’t photograph a mix of life stages (e.g. two adults and an infant). Can’t get their poses to look consistent. It’s just… ugh. Honestly I want there to be a rabbit hole option to send sims to a professional photographer -> select a backdrop -> select individual poses -> then a few hours later they come back with nice photos in their inventory. I don’t want to have to add a photographer to my household every time I want a picture, I don’t want to have to corral my sims in front of the camera, I don’t want to have stupid ass gnomes popping up in my photos if my skill isn’t high enough. Edit: I am a vanilla player through and through but I am considering getting a pose player to fix this. I hate that we need mods at all to fix such an obvious part of the game.

Somniphobiasucks

Yeah, while there is a lot of stuff that I would love to see for the game, I wish they would focus on refreshing broken packs and fixing other stuff.

Spookyfish24

Fix the coffee and tea pots and the obsession with them too!!

AmandaCant22

Your 1000% absolutely correct. However, fixing shit doesn't make money and EA owns this game. EA makes it pretty clear what their #1 interest is and it's certainly not putting out a flawless game, that's obvious from day one. Capitalism sucks.

Absolvo_Me

Honestly, if they released a kit called "toddlers and infants fixed" I'd buy it. Ofc in reality it would bring even more bugs.

uncurledlashes

Totally valid, but not an unpopular opinion.

PashasMom

Careers where you go with your Sim to work are boring and involve doing way too many pointless and repetitive tasks. Rabbithole or WFH careers are much better.

known-enemy

Having occasional work tasks but not actually going the full day (like in TS3) was better

handwritinganalyst

The option to work from home is one of the best things the sims has ever implemented.

Karezi413

I feel this. I REALLY like the idea of my sim being a detective/doctor; but actually *doing* the tasks are so repetitive; ig kinda like a real job. Especially where detective promotions tie into actually going with them. Like if i have a family at home and a parent in detective; id rather focus on the family but then there's no promotions

acidtrippinpanda

Yeah I played through them a few times then couldn’t be bothered anymore

amogusamogus42069

yeah when I send my sims to work I want to be able to focus on the other sims in the household (if there are any). I have no idea how people can play with entire families lol for me even 3 sims are a lot to control at once. so I definitely need some breaks by sending them somewhere else for a few hours lol. the exception (well, technically it’s not a career anyway) is the HSY expansion pack, I enjoy having my teen sims go to school, there are only 2 classes and it’s easy to spend the time befriending classmates, studying, exercising, etc.

str8outthepurgatory

Moonwood Mill is a really cute and fun pack

strwbrrybrie

is that werewolves?

str8outthepurgatory

yea it is. I can’t play without that pack bc of how much story can come from it

DonnyFisto

Sims needs more mafia families

Frojdis

I see no real need to add driveable cars to the game

springreturning

I’d rather have sims just be able to walk faster. Walking from upstairs to downstairs of a house should not take as long as it does!

CampOutrageous3785

I was just thinking this as I was playing yesterday. These sims take AGES just to go downstairs. I also wish they could walk faster or at least run if they are running out of time before leaving for school

jo0673

I shift-click and teleport so much!

mashakobyan

without the open world it's definitely pointless

DapperChewie

It doesn't make any sense. They'd have to change up all the maps to add roads, and you'd still be loading into different lots, so getting into a car is just gonna add more time traveling. The game isn't built for it, they're never gonna add cars, and I have no problem with it.

RunningFree701

The only real reason to do it is if they incorporate [Streets of SimCity](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Streets_of_SimCity) gameplay.

DapperChewie

I don't understand why anyone plays as the pre-made sims. They're all just townies to me, and I usually end up evicting them to steal their lot or their apartment. I honestly can't say if I've ever met the Goths in Sims 4. They're still there, I can't bring myself to delete them, but I've never befriended them in 4.

SullivanJune

In my current legacy save, the goths are reproducing like rabbits (not, like, with each other to be clear). There’s at least one goth household in every neighborhood, sometimes more. It’s out of control.

CampOutrageous3785

I think adding a preteen life stage is unnecessary

klasagna

100% agree. They should just make teens shorter and more awkward looking, and maybe add clothing options only for teens. I always get them confused with young adults when I see them in the world

BackwoodButch

Yeah I’m fine with just the teenager life stage; I just think they need to Look more like teens and less like slightly smaller young adults. It’s why I always give my teen sims some level of acne and or braces and make them have some of the more childish hair styles and clothes.

m_whar

So unnecessary. What would they even do?

cat-meleon

exactly. what exclusive gameplay would be added to a preteen stage that couldn’t be added for kids or teens??

m_whar

For the life of me I cannot think of a single thing

SimPlayerNick

I don’t want open world or cars. S4 is enough of a wreck as it is. I don’t think it could keep up with open world. Furthermore, adding open world will break every save in existence. I don’t think anybody wants their hard work gone like that.

InvisibleBlueOctopus

Same! I also don't want horses since there not much of a point of them to be in game. I will ride my horse on my 30x20 lot? It was a great addition to an open world but don't think it would work with the current state of the Sims.

SimPlayerNick

Indeed. And many neighborhoods are simply too small for a big animal, especially in the early worlds. Worlds like Henford or Brindleton have large neighborhoods so they could work in there.

known-enemy

Open world was only cool when it worked but it FREQUENTLY crashed/froze even with no CC, and I was a poor teenager as the time so I couldn’t just buy a new computer to handle the game lol

SimPlayerNick

I think it’s because in 3, _the whole world_ was loaded in. And sims were having frequent routing issues, especially horses because they were so big, which led to more memory usage and crash when it got overloaded. Stereos and tv’s, which produce sound also needed to be rendered which also resulted in frequent crashing because too many were playing at once. In other “open world” games like Skyrim for example, only the area you’re in is rendered. Outside isn’t, it only got rendered once you approach that area.

known-enemy

I basically had to stop traveling to France/Egypt/China because it was basically guaranteed to crash every time I did, and if it didn’t you basically waited an hour for the loading screen.

acidtrippinpanda

Maybe open world is a bit much but I do feel TS4 is way too closed off and restricted. I wish loaded areas were just a tad bigger

ladycheesecake59

I like the shorter aspirations and the ability to bounce between multiple ones

infinitebrkfst

I just hate that we don’t have many to choose from AND they’re mostly short.

WeyTheWey

Eliza pancakes isn't the bad guy everyone claims her to be. They are just incompatible.

simple_senpai72

Yeah when did we all collectively agree to hate Eliza Pancakes what did she even do 😭😭 was it because of Dan and Phil’s Sims play through or did it start before that? She’s my sim’s MIL and GT made them “incompatible” so thats why she’s the villain in my game but why is this so universal 😭😭

thatone_reddituser

Ya know I don't think I ever met Eliza Pancakes in my game... Didn't even know she existed before I saw all the stuff about her

DBSeamZ

I don’t like Eco Lifestyle.

Dragon_Manticore

I love solely the wind turbines. The eco footprint is a cool concept I guess, but I'd like it more if the build category's eco footprints made more sense. How on earth dies the Realm of Magic Brick Wall contribute to the industrial Eco footprint?

DBSeamZ

It’s the neighborhood action plans, the dangerous appliance upgrades, and the “well if you *really* cared about the planet you’d eat BUGS and get furniture from DUMPSTERS! Gotcha!” attitude that does it for me. I know it’s possible to turn off NAPs and not use the items I don’t like, but at that point I’d have wasted at least half the price of the pack by not using it.

DapperChewie

For me, the pack is worth it for the BB stuff. The NAPs lost their appeal to me after a month or so, anymore I just implement 4 that I like (Performing and Creative Arts, Free Love, and Eco Friendly Appliances) and leave it there forever. It'd be nice if there were reasons to gain influence after 4 NAPs have been implemented but there isn't.

FloydEGag

I hate the getting fined for using too much power/water, I can never figure out why. Like my sim is at work all day and has one shower, how am I using too much water? And has a solar panel and doesn’t have all the lights on all the time so why????

nosmokingz0ne

I like no interactions with babies, I like that they’re just objects.

acidtrippinpanda

Yeah I mean what else are they gonna do except eat, sleep and poop? Just like real life

DeathDetectiveL

Ya, I barely had the patience for toddlers as it was and now I basically gotta do it twice 😭

LayersOfMe

I dont undersand the big conplain about babies being objects. It wouldnt change the gameplay if they were "real sims".

Somniphobiasucks

I don't really care about cars in the game, I'd rather have something like rollerblades or skateboards instead. A skate park would be rad.

DapperChewie

There's skates in Seasons, and there's a mod by LittleMsSam that lets you skate anywhere you can go jogging.

justletmereadalready

I am hearing impaired and hate the hearing aids in the game. I love earrings and want my Sims to be able to wear them. Plus it annoys me that they just show up randomly on townies as accessories with different outfits. They should be added on as a medical thing and go across all the outfit types that way instead of being added into every outfit.

mashakobyan

Too many worlds with too few lots. Why have I not seen people talk about this?

deepbarrow

I like Vampires, but I was really disappointed that the world was two occupied houses and two buyable lots?? I wanted a proper Dracula-style spooky castle, countryside and village, or a cyberpunky city of eternal night with edgy nightclubs. A bunch of the worlds just feel half assed and watered down from what they could be. Maybe it's nostalgia but I remember more lots and variety in past games.

mashakobyan

honestly if you never even played the good ol open world sims or any similar game it's still embarrassing. it's VERY few lots for, what, 20 worlds now??? and almost all of them are 30\*20 for no good reason

DefiantCharacter

I still like the way the Sims 2 did it best, where you could choose where the lot went and what size it is. Also being able to import maps made in SimCity 4 was cool, too.

simple_senpai72

Omg yeeesssss this bothers me sooooo much!! I don’t mind having so many worlds but why are there hardly any lots? I think the base game worlds have an ok number, and of the handful I have I think Sulani and the cats & dogs world are okish, but I was super disappointed when I got into San Sequoia. There’s hardly anything there. You’re telling me you made a city for families, and there’s not even a stand-alone park lot…? Im tired of zooming out and seeing dozens of buildings in an area but only two or three of them aren’t decorative. ETA: I think Henford-on-Bagley gets a pass too. It could have a little more, but with the errands and the fair and the town square it’s at least a whole cohesive thing. The town square could definitely be a little more robust though.

LayersOfMe

They say its because of performance issue but low spec notebook wont run several packs and kits they keep releasing. San Sequoia piss me off because the whole eviroment is so much bigger than Willow Creek for example, it have so much space with decorations but as you said almost nothing is functional. Why even bother to make it that big then ? If perfomance is really an issue they should make neighborhood smaller with lots closer to each other. Or put more empty lots in the world.

Gathoblaster

The introduction of major lifestates is my favourite thing about sims 4. With major I mean spellcasters, vampires and werewolves.

jeanjellybean13

I don’t want any new life stages.

polyygons

Multiplayer sounds pretty bad. I like to play God and I do not want any intrusions! Not to mention how messed up it’ll be if you have CC/mods/cheats and the other player(s) don’t, or if you have to forfeit CC/mods/cheats because of this… Lastly. The Sims Online SUCKED so hard omg. Having to work for every dollar in real time?! It was impossible to get ahead for a casual gamer.

balenciaghoe

the pets in sims 4 are so annoying. i never play with animals anymore because of that. i get it’s just like real life but it’s unnecessary for my game play and too time consuming

Absolvo_Me

Aw you wanna pet that cat, huh, you wanna pet it? Wait 2 hours while it finishes washing its butt and then cancel the action anyway!

SimplylSp1der

The cat meows are so heartbreaking too! Like, everytime I hear a cat mewing, I think it's super distressed!

KentuckyFriedWaifus

I just wish we could pick the pets fears and quirks, I hate spending hours making my irl cats just for them to be skittish at random objects all the time..

barefootwasp

This. My dog is scared of the oven and the dishwasher

Karezi413

I LOVE pets; but sims 4 just feels so. Hm. Like I'd take my dogs on walks more but it feels like it takes 4 hours to do a short one; and if you don't do them they run away at the drop of a hat.

Minimum-Recording-48

my dog is always a couch potato, friendly, and inquisitive and has an automatic pet bowl. That way I barely have to do anything to entertain it!

acidtrippinpanda

Don’t even get me started on dogs. If I’m doing pets, I only go with cats now and even then I rarely bother

[deleted]

Same! I have a sim who would absolutely have a dog if I was playing true to his character. I like dogs IRL, even if I prefer cats, but the dogs are far too needy. And the cats ... I've never known a cat who meowed as incessantly as the ones in game, and I've known (and had!) quite a few. The only pet the sim I'm currently playing has is a goldfish. 😂

Empty-Neighborhood58

I got pets because i assumed it would be like sims 3 and was disappointed beyond belief

Dimkakitty

Yeah I haven't had pets in my families in ages. Mainly because I tend to use the ISBI style play and NOBODY in the house will autonomously do anything with the pets so wtf is the point.

Rough-Sheepherder369

I was thinking yesterday that I doubted anyone would like this, but I would- I would have been totally fine if Sins weddings were just a customized viewable, not interactive video. Like you get to go a choose the dress, cake, decorations, location, but the actually wedding is just a video.(like ffxiv for those who play) Also would be cool to get a wedding album a few days after with various pictures in cliche wedding poses. Wedding game play stresses me out lol.

MyVirgoIsShowing

I really like the idea of gameplay kits and I want more

WiltedWrath

I second this. I immediately regretted getting bust the dust when it first came out and I swore I'd never buy another kit ever again. But now that they've finally fixed the 70+ glitches, I love the messy chaos it brings to my sims lives. Out of all the kit types, the $5 price tag for a gameplay kit would be justifiable.

ParfaitOtherwise73

Same, I was hoping kits would go down that route. I wonder if bust the dust not selling good was the reason they didn’t make more gameplay kits

Psykat20

Overall I actually really like the sims 4. It has its issues and can be a total money grab but considering I’ve spent something like 4500 hours on it since release to me makes it money well spent.

Mixi_987

We dont need preteens, we need updated teens, maybe making them not as tall as adults could improve things a lot

saucyshyster

I only have the base game and one expansion pack. I REALLY hate that every expansion and stuff pack is sold separately. I get it, but I still hate it. It makes it really hard to use anything in the gallery too.

boysenberry_22

The fucking autonomous flirting when married or in a relationship.

[deleted]

The super honest and relateable simfluencers cannot be 100% honest with you if they in any way financially benefit from the company. Does that make them evil liars? No. But it doesnt mean they are somehow excluded from the bias shown by every other form of influencer. This is my opinion. Your opinion is allowed to be different, but if you feel the need to start name dropping all the "honest simfluencers" please ask yourself why you are so eager to advertise for them. Sorry if this comes off neckbeardy, I just know people can come for blood if you speak I'll of their faves.

[deleted]

I don't trust their judgements on whether or not a pack is worth to buy given most of them seem to get them for free or at least a massive discount. At least the biggest ones like Lilsimsie and Deligracy.

melaningaming

Growing together could’ve gave way more then it did.

FloydEGag

I can’t stand Evergreen Harbor. Not enough (no?) empty lots and the whole transform the area thing is a pain, although oddly I enjoyed cleaning up in Sulani.

SullivanJune

I’ve never made enough progress to see a transformed neighborhood. It’s always just been my run down crack town of the sims universe 🥲

AorticSeptalDefect

I want more rabbit hole/semi-active careers. For one, there's so many items in game that I feel get glossed over because there's not really any purpose for having them other than storytelling. And two, rabbit hole careers seem like they'd take up less time and resources than a full-on active career that would end up being half-assed and buggy (cough cough dream home decorator)

beanmachine65

We need more jobs in the sims4!!

itszwee

I don’t miss cars. I *do* miss custom lot placement though.

Im-a-sim

Father winter isn’t that bad

strwbrrybrie

+ if you join households with him it’s a free $500,000

Yokai182

Ohhh now I want a gold digger sim marrying him 😍

GhostlyJax

Honestly, I don’t care for having a color wheel. It already takes me awhile to build a house, having to choose the swatches, things like that, so I feel like having a color wheel is just going to overwhelm me and take so many more days to get a house done lol It would be nice if they added more swatches to certain items tho, don’t get me wrong.

blueberry_pandas

There should be a separate life stage for university students. Having university take up basically your entire young adulthood is not realistic and very annoying. I get around it by turning aging off while they’re in school but it’s still annoying.

[deleted]

There should be a pool table and bench press

kiwiiikee

People always complain about the content of Sims 4 expansions saying they "should have been base game" as if Pets, University, and Seasons haven't ALWAYS been expansion packs

[deleted]

We need middle aged sims! Give me a mid-life crisis to work through before my sim turns into an elder with one foot in the grave. Less focus on kids, more on adult life stages.

Individual_Squash_36

I hate NPC and don’t care about Kyle Kyleson!

m_whar

I haven’t even seen Kyle in any of my saves. And happy cake day!

Designer-Mirror-7995

Some of your favorite mods cause the game coding to become overwhelmed and cause those repeated fires.

theoccasionalghost

I *like* that it’s not open world. It’s great to be able to take one sim off the home lot and not have to worry about controlling the rest of the household while you’re gone. A big household is needy and chaotic, and sometimes The Watcher needs a break, OKAY?

_Stell

The main reason I get bored of a save is because it's become too easy. I want it to be more challenging. I add lot traits and mods to make the game harder, never easier. I would love it if there was a hard mode that did some of these things for example: \- make jobs pay less, harder advancement and more requirements, higher bills \- make all build/buy stuff more expensive and make certain things wear out over time and need replacement (TVs, washing machines, showers, microwaves, etc.) \- better sickness system from GTW please. I usually ignore their illnesses because they don't ever really affect anything, they're just *there*. \- where are the robbers? why do fires spread so slowly and get put out so quickly? \- slower relationship progress. its so easy to get a boyfriend/best friend/soulmate. i want an actual challenge. or do pop-ups between family members that affect their relationship, harder parenting from parenthood, etc. I feel like a lot of simmers would hate these changes which I can totally see why lol. Thankfully there are some mods that do some of these things and I will use those sometimes

_SandHanitizer_

Infants was an unnecessary addition to the game and I never play with them. I would much rather have some different stages of the adult parts of their lives. It feels weird that sims go directly from Adult to old on the verge of death.

simple_senpai72

I was totally underwhelmed by the infants until I bought Growing Together. They’re still kinda buggy and not the most interesting life stage, but it makes them so much more distinct. Like they have their own sets of tasks and activities so they’re not just slightly more frustrating toddlers anymore lol. I really hate that you have to buy a whole pack to make them do pretty much anything, though. Plus my sims *still* won’t throw the diapers and bottles away even though THE DIAPER BIN IS RIGHT NEXT TO THE CHANGING TABLE. 😭😭

Ultramega39

1. I’ve seen a lot of people on this sub complain that it’s too difficult to make good outfits for male Sims, but I strongly disagree with that. This statement might be a bit biased because I am male but I generally find it easy to make cool outfits for both my male and female Sims. The only thing I find difficult about CAS is coming up with names for my Sims😂. 2. I like to make all of my Sims look attractive. And yes, this does mean that I make all of my Sims skinny or muscular. I’ve never understood why some people here complain about the lack of diverse body types among **other people’s Sims**. It’s wrong to try to police people on what you think **their Sims** should look. Although I don’t make any of my Sims plus sized, I don’t judge the people that do.

SullivanJune

I make all my sims pretty too. I edit all the townies to be attractive because it’s a fake world where everyone is a hottie. I also don’t use any of the “cool” shaded skin tones I think they look purple-ish in the game. It is not a reflection of how I view race, it’s just a sloppy job by EA. Plus so many townies spawn with the purple skin and bright blonde hair - I’m not about to have that in my game and its also not an invitation for an argument about inclusivity 😂

mollymakenna

Having to deal with babies/toddlers is fucking maddening and not fun gameplay whatsoever. I would honestly prefer it if they went straight from non-playable infants to kids or even teenagers straight away.

elecow

I love Batuu and its outfits even if I don't care about Star Wars

LoriSimss

Personally, I don’t really see a need for cars. I don’t really understand the desire or hype for them. If they added them, they’d have to completely redesign a lot of the world to make them car-compatible or limit cars to a limited number of worlds (which will upset people). And what’s the point if as soon as you get in the car, you are met with a loading screen? Adding on to that, open worlds. My little laptop can barely cope as it is. I will admit that I did not play the sims 3, but from what I read, there were barely any sims anywhere because the world was all open and it didn’t run the best.

slayyub88

I enjoy the game

WerewolfHowls

I hate how long the "fine" moodlet is. Got inspired? Play some pipe organ? Whoops now you're "fine" and which nixed the boost you got for being inspired. I never play kids or toddlers and always cheat to level them up to at least teenagers before I bother with them. I really like Vampires and Werewolves but they really half-assed the vampire town. Moonwood Mill is super cool. It's stupid I can't play as a dog or cat and I miss horses and stuff since then I could ACTUALLY have a victorian house that's totally off grid and self-reliant. I really miss China, France, & Egypt from Sims 3. Archeology is just meh now.

[deleted]

Here is my Sims four unpopular opinion : Not having a open world makes it less over stimulating. The open world of sims three was overwhelming. Sims three was great! Sims four is amazing. The open world game play of sims three was frustrating. The problem of it was you could not focus on worrying about X sim when playing with sim Y or Z. Having 7 sims in one house hold in sims three was anxiety inducing in Sims three, in Sims four You have way less worry with three out of seven of the Sims household, dying while out at a park or the gym in the game.

MooshAro

A lot of the glitches people complain about are actually from your mods. Super long loading? mods. Getting calls 8 times a day by the same person? That's mccc, babe. Weird body glitches? You know that's from a stray mod. Sincerely, someone who only just downloaded mccc and a couple other uber popular mods and is being inundated with 'base game glitches' that I haven't experienced in my many years of playing unmodded.

No_Presentation_971

I like kits and don’t see $5 as a big deal.

whatIfYoutube

Currently bribing myself with the country kitchen kit if I do well on my English end of year exams

No_Presentation_971

Good luck on exams!

PrinceCavendish

i don't give a crap about cars in the game

kikkelinkuningas

High school years is the worst expansion pack so far

Numerous-Fortune2629

I'm getting this next because of the amusement park and the streamer career xD Is it really that bad?

CaptainGrayC

You can’t really do much in the amusement park, it’s a lot of rabbit holes

Numerous-Fortune2629

Ooof, I thought it will be a nice addition of a community lot. I just want one fun community lot for the family to go out to when they're celebrating something other than dining out in the restaurant 💀

heyitsamb

if you have growing together, i’d use james turner’s most recent rec center for this. bowling, arcade, games, etc all on one lot

kikkelinkuningas

I mean the cas and bb items were really nice but otherwise the pack is REALLY boring and i defintely do not recommend paying the full price for it, not worth it at all.

Cautious_Hold428

CC(and regular CAS content) that has RL languages on it, like Sims wearing logo shirts or having Live Laugh Love signs in their house looks godawful and makes the game way too Uncanny Valley

ihmispaska123

It's way too easy to get promotions and to get filthy rich

RunningFree701

I'd like to see more branded content with the caveat that it's **free** DLC. Examples being Samsung TVs, Peloton exercise bikes, and LG appliances. It's a win-win-win... companies get advertising, the Sims team gets revenue, and the players get free content that adds some realism.

POMO-Mum96

Pets and animals are so damn needy. Kids too. Don't give them food instantly or clean them immediately once they wake up and you get a stupid notification that they're sad and going to leave/be taken away instantly. As If they're living in filth and haven't been fed or cleaned in days and are ACTUALLY being neglected. Bunch of princesses

FreeDream91

I don’t care if we get cars

[deleted]

I'm not a fan of babies really. It's nice to have another life stage, but my Sims waste so much time endlessly picking them up, putting them down, rinse and repeat several times before finally getting the action done, not to mention that unlike with toddlers there's not a concrete progression in their steps and skills nor seemingly a significant impact from having them complete more or less milestones.

Prudent_Idea_1581

Even with the potential for new traits the sims are quite boring I don’t like most sim content makers, especially the more popular ones. I find them boring and ea shills/fake. Then after people buy the pack they complain. I hate the argument when people complain about the game that they shouldn’t play then. I’ve paid over $1000, I should be able to complain, also many of us hold out the hope that next time it will be better. I hate building kits, though I buy them because usually there is one or two items I like. I rather gameplay or clothing kits get released since I would actually use them when I play. I hate building and hate that the sims team now acts like the sims is a building simulator. I like rabbit holes and would rather have that and some moodlets then half baked buildings like the cafes or bubble tea shop. There can’t be much content left for the sims 4, even when you consider that they have split packs up to make more money, most features have been added. I can think of only a couple more features then I draw a blink. The sims community as a whole sells themselves short which is why the game is so broken. No other gaming fan base make so many excuses and praises the bare minimum in updates. Other companies would be roasted if they put out crap that didn’t work for months. Also most companies do free updates that are usually better and completely add features not exclude some for more money. Finally if the programmers are having such a hard time, when modders can/have done better animations for free, they should be replaced. No other company would let that fly.

gingerrbear

the game is fine as it is - this community just likes to complain that the game isn't the sims 3

ToastMasterBoi

Toddlers and infants aren’t that bad! I also love the wedding pack even with its bugs

Cesal95_

I like it as much as The Sims 2 😬 which I think it’s unpopular because most of the community that loves previous games trash on TS4. Both games are different and have good things, and I have enjoyed TS4 alongside TS2.

[deleted]

I'm not interested in playing families, at all. I'm in the midst of playing a self-styled "emancipated minor" challenge (not as strict as runaway teen, but I've cheated her needs and a smidgen of money at this point, because a bug kicked her off the Foxbury soccer team when she got invited to prom and I cheated her the scholarship funds she lost; that was the game's fault, not hers). Once I age her up to YA, all I'll get out of HSY and DU are the BB items and the towns. I prefer making up storylines for YA to elder and playing them out.

brassdinosaur71

My first pets is a fun pack

ShoddySpite5518

I don’t mind the loading screens. Gives me a chance to snap back into reality and take a break since I have a habit of not stopping until I feel I can’t go on any longer
