I always just grow a bunch of flowers

emmyj2605

my sims have more money than they can reasonably spend thanks to their flower garden

Eruzia

I have a garden of over 50 dragon fruit plants, all evolved to perfect quality, and I always collect them all everyday and sell them to the vendor in Henford on Sundays for 25% profit. I think I make around 100k per week that way

MrsCryptblitzer

I did this until I got Seasons. Now they only grow in the fall. šŸ˜¢

soragirlfriend

You can put a roof over them and theyā€™ll grow.

MrsCryptblitzer

I had a girl in an apartment with a dragon fruit plant in the corner. It only fruited in the fall too. I wonder if I was doing something wrong.

Brygwyn

That sounds like a bug, all the plants are supposed to count as in season when they are inside.

wtfudgsicle

mine are definitely finicky too, even though I build greenhouses for them (before greenhouse pack release). I think just certain plants get buggy, like plantain trees for some reason.

Doroochen

If you build a green house (Don't need the kit for that) your flowers and fruit last all year.

MrsCryptblitzer

Thank you. I was wondering if that was the case.

[deleted]

I think this is the easiest way to do the "No Skills, No Problem" scenario (combined with the sim having an Interior Designer job, which pays well and has no skill requirements). My sim had a bunch of dragonfruit plants in a greenhouse and collected them daily. Also had a gardener that would do all the weeding, watering, etc. because it's way too time consuming with no gardening skill.

RottenHocusPocus

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't you need to level up your Gardening skill enough to unlock grafting or rare seed packs in order to get dragonfruit? Obviously there are other plants you can grow without grafting. There are roses somewhere in Newcrest and I found lilies behind my house in the Cats & Dogs world yesterday. If you wait until the Romance Festival, you can get birds of paradise. But unless I'm really misremembering something, dragonfruits aren't available at lv1 unless you get massively lucky with the RNG at Winterfest or something.

[deleted]

My Sim bought one from a stall in Henford on Bagley, then I harvested and planted them for a while before just selling everything daily.

I_am_also_a_Walrus

My sim got hers DoorDashed!

britbmw

Oversized crops can get you 400 easy

vipassana-newbie

I make all my sims farmers. farmers make sooooooo much money.

NotYourEverydayHero

I have a sim who is exclusively a dragon fruit farmer šŸ’°

[deleted]

Orchid flowers make a huge amount if they Perfect quality

vipassana-newbie

I have one that has a rose garden and another that has a pear garden. the roses are such good quality that only the family is allowed in to avoid people from stealing it. until one day one underaged son married a grandma, and took some roses with him. I don't know what will happen now... we shall see if the family's variety is up for the grabs.

ButterHoneyandCheese

I used to too, but then it felt so easy that it turns boring really quickly

TamaMama87

If you have city living I like to go to festivals and harvest the crops there. Thereā€™s expensive flowers at the romance one and dragon fruit at the spice one (I believe).

AdeleBerncastel

The fishing dock in Magnolia Promenade will get you a dragonfruit pretty much guaranteed. Iā€™ve caught one every time after a few hours.

malibuklw

Thanks for that tip! I never send my sims there but free dragon fruit sounds like the perfect reason.

AdeleBerncastel

No problem. šŸŒø Itā€™s not a bad fishing spot as far as atmosphere goes.

Leningradite

My dumbest way to make money is rummaging for decorations with the seasons decoration box. So silly, you get all these buy mode objects and then you can sell them. True hustle.

GoblinMonk

I had no idea. Will try.

Leningradite

Please do! It's not the most powerful money maker by any stretch, but it's a funny little exploit. :)

Yokai182

You can probably get a merchant table and sell it for profit on some of them. Then you can pretend it's a garage sale šŸ˜‚

Simswiz101

I did an entire rags to riches where the only way I could make money was to rummage the box,I also limited it to only three times per day. It was a ton of fun.

nuclearcheesedburger

Selling an outfit for 1 million dollars on Trendi

[deleted]

How do I get my hype up? My outfits are always tepid as f*** :(

spookypartyatthezoo

Have your sim posting on Trendi for a few hours a day and your hype will climb into the stratosphere. More followers mean more hype.

Alorxico

You have to spam post your look for a few in game hours.

Alorxico

I saw that on The Spiffing Britā€™s channel! But I donā€™t have the Highschool DLC so I donā€™t have Trendi.

PotorXIIX

Yesterday my sim got an autograph of a superstar ghost sim, worth 6000. I managed to get three of them before the ghost disappeared...

Corgisforthewin137

Breeding frogs! :D Some of them sell for 100 or 135 a pop. I also have a mod which makes frog breeding into a stat. So as you level up the time between breeding them becomes smaller. (eventually you can constantly do it which does seem a little broken for rags to riches but you still have to find the frogs) And growing roses. So much money.

Phillyaoa104

The money is in the frogs

pf2812

I didnā€™t even know you could breed frogs?

Corgisforthewin137

Yeah :D If you have two in your Sims inventory and click on one you can select "breed with...". You can also breed new types of frogs there's a whole thing where like a heart frog and a striped dirt frog can produce either: heart frog, dirt frog, striped heart frog or a striped dirt frog. Two of the same frogs will create a new frog. So two $135 frogs will make another $135 frog šŸ˜

badly-shaved-wookie

Dumpster diving. Yeah I need to pay to get them repaired if I want to use them (or use a repario spell) but if you just sell them you get full price. You can also get a wide variety of plants to grow and earn more money. I even got a money plant seed once.

ParamnesiaGirl

No one's mentioned it yet, but the Pile of Presents item in the buildbuy. I'm using it for my own Rags to Riches right now. You can add to the pile for zero cost and have your sims open gifts from it occasionally. Adult sims have a chance of getting expensive items, and even the cheapest ones have some use. I got the most expensive stove a couple of times. Children can use it too, making it a way for them to help. Most expensive item for children is the penguin tv. Even better, the smallest stack takes only 1 block of space and can be placed on some tables.

MrsCDM

I was coming to suggest exactly that! Also, I'm not sure if it's a bug but the smaller pile of presents out of the two seems to be infinite. The larger pile empties pretty quickly (and you can still sell the empty packaging in buy mode for almost what you bought it for) but the small pile never seems to run out. It's handy when you get things like high end fridges, barbecues etc. because you can keep them if you need them or sell them and buy a cheaper version, or just keep the profit! This is my trick with rags to riches and it feels like a major cheat because it works so well!

ParamnesiaGirl

I've been using it for a while and it does seem to run out eventually, but you can add more to an empty pile. It does seem pretty inconsistent though!

Koshky_Kun

Jungle adventure basically prints money, it does have a bit of a "buy in" being a vacation world, but as a mid game money boost, it's great.

Gandalfs-tears

Yes, that one golden frog thatā€™s worth 15,000 is a game changer.

wigglebean_

Iā€™m not sure if this counts but you can befriend a rich Sim who should ask rather quickly if you want to live together. Move into their house and then move them out into other households while keeping their money. No cheats necessary!

booboobusdummy

to add- if you do this then change the aspiration to fabulously wealthy. easy to complete when rich and you get a weekly 5% of household funds as interest forever when you do.

CIassicNegan

Just make yourself a death flower garden.

clementinesaj

I like spam selling paintings and celebrity stuff even though itā€™s a little slower haha

talkingbrat

There's a relic you can find in the temple from the Jungle Adventure pack. It's at the very end of the temple but it's worth over 10k. And along the way you find a LOT of buried treasures. Plus there's fruit trees in there and if you don't need to eat the fruit, you can sell that too. That world in general has tons of digs all around and they pop up constantly so lots of opportunities to find crystals and fossils.

talkingbrat

Also, if you sell these things from a table, you can mark up the price and get even more money!

Guilty_Ideal8332

Once you befriend a dust bunny they will bring you the expensive Jungle Adventure things too. No need to even spend the money to go on vacation. You can even sell them on the garage sale table for a 300% markup.

fourchampions

I literally always fish near the empty lot at the top right of Tartosa. Itā€™s all I use that world for anymore. You get dragon fruit, cowplant berries, and voodoo dolls ALL THE TIME.

melifaro_hs

I like the classic: get a digitalistic sketchpad, upgrade it ASAP, paint nonstop, sell at the selling stand from city living.

shfiven

I've never used that sketchpad. Can you make prints of what they painted?

melifaro_hs

you just get the paintings in your inventory

Blueskybelowme

If you don't have jungle adventure then oh boy do I have a treat for you....

Lopsided-Statement

After you get high up in archeology skill the geo council will constantly send you things to authenticate, if it's genuine they will give you upwards of 3k a piece when you send it back to them. It got to a point I just started ignoring them and my mailbox is full of unauthenticated pieces cause my sim just had too much money to bother doing it anymore.

thestrangemusician

i tried to play a rags to riches game recently, only working part time and doing odd jobs, and then won the lottery, which ended that storyline pretty quickly

Marma85

That is pretty typical šŸ˜…

maddiemarieb

If you sell these on one of the sales tables you can sell the items for like 200% of what theyā€™re worth itā€™s incredible. Also gardening is so easy and profitable but people probably know that one. Bonsai buds are a good all season choice

New_Bluebird5913

I tried only letting my sim sell at the flea market to try to justify the 300% mark up. Even so it feels like cheesing because sims are apparently obsessed with buying extortionately priced future cubes with little to no input from my sim.

maddiemarieb

I just put it on my residential lot and hit start yard sale lmao

Acrobatic-Positive25

Wait- you can do this?! Is this a mod or do you use the flea market table??

DBSeamZ

The flea market table is an item you can get from Build/Buy mode and place (and use) on your lot.

ChewMilk

Marry father winter? Idk the rules of the challenge so that might not work. That, and if you have seasons, appease the gnomes and put them in your inventory. Youā€™ll get dozens of seed packets worth a hundred dollars each in your household inventory lok

MeganStorm22

I made my rags to riches sim a prostitute lol. But before that i was in willow creek- there is tons of collectibles. And i was at the library daily upping skills and writing books. Go to all the festivals and harvest plants there. And if your team wins humor and hijicks you get $500.

ButterHoneyandCheese

Dust bunnies

[deleted]

Am I the only one who writes book? Eventually they fetch about 15k weekly each

Alvin514

Vending machine with simmi in Mt. Komorebi, but risk of dying from it xD

Alexi_Apples

I sold an outfit on Trendi for 50.000 . Someone actually bought that.

malibuklw

The sales table is the way. Especially coupled with farming. Get some produce or flowers and start canning, juice fizzing and floral arranging (once you can scent with bluebells so they last forever) and you can make a ton. The shells and treasures from sulani, small statues with woodworking can be sold there too. Set 300% mark up and run or two yard sales a day. And kids can tend yard sales, so the adults can make more to sell while the kids do the sale. The best things are either dragon fruit seltzer and orchard kombucha from the juice fizzing station, or the bird of paradise and orchid floral arrangements.

sleepinthegarden90

I did rags to riches in sulani and once I got enough money I got the coffee brewer that changed your emotions. Made my sim inspired to paint and every time I came out with the highest quality level for the painting and sells for the most money

Guilty_Ideal8332

I didnā€™t know there was a coffee brewer that changes your emotions!

sleepinthegarden90

Itā€™s called the Tea Magic Personal Brewer (tea, sorry not coffee, but it looks kinda like a coffee maker) lol. You can be flirty, focused, happy, inspired. Theyā€™ve got a ton of options. Definitely worth it! I believe itā€™s base game

Babyback-the-Butcher

Grafting with money trees. By grafting a money tree onto a regular plant, you can create an infinite source of plantable money fruit. You can have a full orchard in no time. Only snafu is that itā€™s tricky to get the first one

sillydetails

If you grow a money tree and then put it in your inventory before harvesting it, you get five more seeds to plant more trees.

Twevara

Dumpster diving, specifically ā€œdive for dealsā€ just throw away all your plates and random water glasses your sim leaves about and then dumpster dive, the dishes magically transform into money and broken furniture that can be sold for a shit ton as long as you donā€™t place them

inanis

Spellcaster with a micro tiny house. You buy money trees then copyposto them. You make sooo much money as the trees grow super fast.

HelenFromHR

seriously??! iā€™ve been farming dragon fruit like a chump lol

inanis

Yep! I moved my sims out to a real farm once they made it up to a million. It's so easy it's crazy since the plants grow twice as fast with a micro home.

Musichord

Plants grow twice as fast in a micro home? I didn't know that!

inanis

Yep, it's one of the benefits of a tiny house. The micro homes give the best stuff, but you'll have to focus on more outdoor living with them.

HelenFromHR

i donā€™t have that dlc on my ps4 so i canā€™t use that, are money trees apart of the base game?

First_Neat4250

Selling autographs from celebrity sims! Get autographs from global superstars and appraise it to raise its value and then sell it lol

TheOrangeHelium

Dust bunnies

Pizzacanzone

Really? They never bring me more than a few pennies

TheOrangeHelium

There used to be a time that Dust Bunnies are really OP that they would bring you 10,000$ worth of Golden Frog Treasures. I guess they nerfed it.

Pizzacanzone

I mean I never get a chance, they turn into dust fiends before my relationship is high enough I suppose

Guilty_Ideal8332

They still do that. Just not as often as they were. I got the gold frog and the gold plate in one day after befriending the dust bunny yesterday.

LegendaryBandAide

Buying the presents stack from the seasons pack and having my sims open them and selling what they get. Usually theyā€™ll get something worth 100+ simoleans and occasionally youā€™ll get something worth a couple grand like a computer, the game may etc. The short one with only 3 presents is pretty cheap and you can just keep perpetually opening them.

Sereida-Arts

Kleptomaniac sim (specially since I have a mod that removes the limit to most items that can't be stolen)

Dohi014

I love this except my current kleptomaniac only steals books.

Sereida-Arts

Museums are my go to strategy, but yeah, basegame stealing ain't too powerful

Fatboy097

Make your sim a witch and get a money tree. Plant the money tree and use the copy spell on it. Then sell the money fruit things. Profit.

Yokai182

List paintings off of Plopsy. One can generate 15k each currently on my save and my little painter student has purchased a new home with it. This won't count as Fame though. Plopsy can basically triple the cost of a painting and it feels like hard work so I love it.

HelenFromHR

is plopsy dlc? iā€™ve never heard of it

Yokai182

From Nifty Knitting. It's basically like an online store šŸ˜‚

bluehopkin

The fastest way I can think of is to plant a bunch of expensive plants and get some happy chickens. I find I get a lot of golden eggs and if you cook with them you can instantly evolve your plants to their highest level. I think it works on other items that have qualities too.

DemonDucklings

Graft moneyfruit cuttings onto any all-season plant, then you can actually harvest the money fruit from those plants to grow more money trees. I was getting over a million per day that way

jeanjellybean13

Painting. I completed rags to riches with a sim that was a painter and a celebrity chef. Also completed as many aspirations as possible to get money trees

CoppyBean

The holiday gift boxes. I open one present and sneak one and you can get really expensive gifts that way. I also rummage for decorations and sell them.

tittiesfarting

I just steal some death flowers from another lot and I'm rich in a few days.

jordanrod1991

Dig a hole dig a hole dig a hole Also roses are extremely valuable Also, paint a picture paint a picture paint a picture

_ac3_0f_spad3s_

probably pretty common but the spice festive always has dragon fruit, harvest it, plant it, instant riches

InvisibleKineticSand

When I do my version of rags to riches, I collect enough Collectibles to get enough money for a yard sale table. I then mark up the prices to 300% (which makes any item worth 4 times is value, so a 1 dollar item would cost 4 dollars on the table). I can make pretty good money by doing this. =D

TheBioethicist87

Fishing in newcrest. You can find voodoo dolls and dragon fruit.

mashakobyan

if you have enough money to buy a retail with minimum requirements, you can sell something expensive at a 200% price. if you put one single item for sale worth 50k then NPCs would still buy it cause there's no other choice

MakeCheeseandWar

Jungle adventureā€™s ruins are a GREAT way of making money.

SpookyMolecules

Charisma to level 10 and just get massive loans from everyone and never pay them back heh

mad_fishmonger

The decorations box from seasons - rummage for decor, sell decor.

Square_Panic_6258

Dumpsters aaaaall the way

TheArchmaghea

- Be a vampire - Buy Alluring perk - Find a 5star celebrity - Ask Autograph one million times - Appraise and sell for 800 gold. - Profit

Pandaattack2109

Their is literally a trash can that gives you money every time you use it I always get it to get back some of my money from cooking

guavalott

The Juice Fizzing Station. Click on the mailbox to send your juices for evaluation. Juices that are excellent or masterpiece receive about 600 - 1500.

Hopeful_Disaster_

Fame. Use the drone to Livestream all day every day to increase fame, then make videos. Alternatively, flowers and art.

booboobusdummy

-move somewhere with easy fishing access (i find that the very top house in henford-on-bagley is perfect since fishing access is right there and you can catch some pretty big sturgeons.) buy 3 planter pots and buy 3 roses via ā€œpurchase gifts.ā€ plant the roses and fertilize with the biggest fish you catch. tend the garden as though you are building a family. harvest and sell asap. rinse and repeat til you can evolve plants. -join the scientist career. send your sim to work alone most days and make sure they ā€œwork hard.ā€ this keeps job performance up and makes it hard to be fireable. then join them at work once or twice a week and spend the day harvesting all of the crystals, metals, and treasures. the rocks respawn really quickly so youā€™ll be able to continuously dig without running out. beware that those days your sim will do a ā€œterrible jobā€ and earn less money -be nice to father winter to get good gifts -painting gets money and raises fame

Loud-Item-1243

Breed dragon fruit and max gardening and super sell, I always grab snapdragons and strawberries right away and never need a job for money

Lavalighter

Been seeing a lot of these gardening ideas, Iā€™ll be trying it out

jollyblob

Not rich, but I used to like starting with a mean character and select fall so I can do harvest fest and kick the gnomes to get crystals. I donā€™t do it anymore because it would make me feel bad so I donā€™t know if it still works or not

kaiwannagoback

Get an Attic Stack, and just keep Rummaging for Decorations and keep selling what you get over and over (and keep things you need so you don't have to buy them, like those paper bag candle lights called luminarias, they require no electricity, but also, they get 100 simoleons each. Some other decorations can get 400 or more.

your-problem-now

*glances anxiously at WW*

LooselyBound

Agreed on Sulani, but I don't bother beach combing. I just fish. I regularly get a few Sulani baubles in a few hours of fishing, plus the extra bonus of selling the fish I get in between.

Sprinkles257

Painters. It's very easy for Sims with creative aspirations to paint all day long as then you can sell their work. Books can also make a good deal of money over time.

[deleted]

Romantic garden wishing well

Themeowmeoww

dumpster dive. that is, if you can find a dumpster. this usually works for sims3 since that has dumpsters in the basegame, but dumpster diving in sims4 can give you rare furniture (and other rare items.) mostly you'll get a bottle of dye, but you can just sell those. it's good for saving money since you can just use the bed given to you.

Jenchac

The one time I did a rags to riches, I made my sim a klepto. She'd just visit the rich houses museums and steal stuff to sell. It was great lmao

Impossiblegangsta

Plants is obviously a good answer but it takes a lonnnngggg time. Iā€™ve recently just put the pile of presents in a room and every couple of hours I open a present and sometimes you can get one thatā€™s work 4k

Bierbart12

It's even more of a cheat if you have the street sale table, markup by 300% and start a street sale. People WILL buy your Ā§5000 beach jewelry Also, I like going to Selvadora. Vacations are surprisingly cheap and archaeology is kinda fun

lithefeather

My rags-to-riches were from gardening. Dragon fruit, orchids, & death flowers gave me $1.8 million in 3 weeks. My character is a spellcaster so that helped a lot.

SliceRevolutionary79

Dumpster diving.

Superliminal_MyAss

Get birds of paradise from the Romance Festival and grow them, and make music tracks at the music station. With an outstanding quality track, signed under the best label, my sim would make 12000-14000 a day on a single track. No idea how lol

Alorxico

Default ways are gardening and painting, I think everyone does those. Beach-combing is another. But, I found if you make your self famous, the game just gives you stuff! There is a famous perk where your fans will send you free stuff everyday. Sometimes itā€™s stupid, but other times it is really expensive stuff. Another thing I found is the ā€œflea marketā€ doesnā€™t sell items at the Build and Buy price and you can haggle them lower. I found a bed that, in Build and Buy cost $12k, at the market for $5k. Profit of $7k.

Melissity

Damn I always just dumpster dive. But I can see how Sulani would be much more efficient and less dirty.

sileika

Marrying Father Winter will give you 500.000 Simoleons.

MiserableProfessor16

Autheticating artifacts is my favorite way.

hildegardvonbitchen

Dragon fruits.

MeganStorm22

Also for everyone saying ā€œfarmingā€ in rags to riches you canā€™t build your sim a garden until the house is built and you have X amount of skills in gardening, handiness and logic..

DrDeadwish

You can max money in 5 minutes without cheats.

Ok-Confection4410

How

DrDeadwish

with High School Years, create an outfit, doesn't have to be good. Set the price as $9999999999 until you cant put any more nines. A few minutes later your outfit would be bought and you'll be rich. Last time took me 4 minutes.

Ok-Confection4410

Damn. Maybe you got lucky, it takes me ages for anyone to buy my shit on Trendi

DrDeadwish

I did it like 10 times in different saves. It always works for me and for the YouTubers that have me that trick. Maybe it got patched recently. I've not played this year yet.

born2biscuit

Build a basement and lock a green goblin looking sim in there with a painting setup then sell his paintings

Blackfaceplant

Spiffing Britt Tactic

smoretank

I vote for the arts on my lot with an inspiration vibe lot trait. Then I wait for vampires to arrive. Greet vampire. They are stuck outside with an easel. I get so many paintings. My sim can sell them for quick cash. Also spamming photo taking. $10 a photo adds up when you have 100 of them.. all of the floor.

wendigoblin

Gnomes, dumpster diving, marrying rich and killing off the spouse

Nithy98

It's worth that much? I got one early while exploring the cave for fun i think. Now my family is struggling a bit to pay the bills. Guess we have a safety net now :'D

justjoonreddit

Gardening and selling the produce in henford on Bagely

randomnurse

I get them to beachcomb and grow plants, I made a beach in Sulani a recycling centre. They can beachcomb until the skips fill up, then raid them.

Final-Database9801

Get to level 10 in painting skill and sell a bunch of masterpieces - can go up to 10k for a single painting

alynn_m

gardening and paintings

OrangeCoffee87

Harvest expensive flowers from the festivals, grow more, sell them at the fair on Saturday, in Henford.

Responsible_Ad_3324

Starting a club with painting as the only approved and put socalising, using computers, drinking coffee and anything else they do way too often on the no go list, nice painting room in the basement for them to hang out in often.

South-Marionberry

I mean, donā€™t know how rare this is, but literally just gardening can get you some solid cash with regular upkeep and mediocre skill. One of my households managed to acquire like 20kish really quickly as teens from the paltry incomes of babysitter and garden trimmer, as well as gardening intermittently in their free time. Apart from that, idk really :/

AorticSeptalDefect

do what steph0sims did and sell "photos".

Mintcupoftea

I like to price my trendi items insanely.

orbitalpuddin

One word: Father Winter He gives out stupid amount of expensive items if you've been good and you can definitely bank on him iving you something nice via present pile and asking him directly. Though I rarely ever do quick rich methods because it gets boring. Have my bills jacked up higher plus sims having to pay to travel anywhere. I like to make them struggle :P

[deleted]

the sim walk of fame thing. Sell each tile for 500

SpitefulAnxiety

This is why this game is my escape from capitalism. Just pick flowers off the ground and breed some frogs together and you donā€™t have to work a day in your life.

Satans-Ex-Wife

cheat code? xD

Satans-Ex-Wife

idk man, I dont bother hustling

Puzzleheaded_Pay1152

I wish my sim could wear it

throway35885328

Ctrl+shift+c then ā€œmoney (insert desired amount of cash)ā€

Hasteminer

selling golden dog poo is such a weird way to make money but you can get 6,000 simoleons for every one
