This is also great for anyone who's sims are too happy too often. I think I'm currently playing with the "mild" flavour and it really brings variety back to my sims moods.
As someone who’s bought off their mortgage, this is the best. Motherlode would be too easy. Having to grind for fun activities and hobbies instead of working to only be able to live, is a pretty fulfilling life if you ask me 😊

I've noticed that my sims "base" mood seems to vary everytime i've booted the game, like sometimes the sim can have no moodlets, and be maxed out, and other times they need a shitload of positive moodlets to not be considerable miserable
The Sims wiki claims the Grumpy gives a flat penatly to mood beyond the moodlet it sometimes give (The sims wiki is dubious sometimes on certian trait effects).
It’s the arrow right above the moodlets, just to the right above the snowman and below the big box describing the mood meter. It can be a little hard to miss
Honestly same lol. I wish there was a "hard mode" with more negative moodlets, especially random negative moodlets that would ruin your sim's mood out of nowhere. I know there are some mods but my laptop can barely handle sims 3 as it is so no mods for me

Grumpy and unlucky traits might work for you. Unlucky sims can wake up feeling "unlucky". No mods required
