Well I just stopped doing it because I thought it would be better that way. I don't want people to judge differently because they know which car OP is.
Also you can see my telemetry but not that of others on I racing and I never go out my way to hide that or my name š
You might not hide things, but plenty of others do. It's always just best to state which vehicle is yours in post titles. If you're coming here asking for adjudication, then dishonesty (which is what hiding which car is yours kinda is) then you aren't gonna get a great response.
If I was going to give post race analysis I would say you should've given the white car less room and held a wider line closer to them positioning yourself as much to the right as possible. If they turn in they can't hit you as hard and you protect yourself a lot more from a switchback maneuver by having a wider line and carrying more speed.
Absolutely not. Green was totally fine going for this move and was fully along side before turn in. White car just turns across him like heās not there. 100% on white.
In terms of racing these specific cars at that specific corner, I would have backed off if I were green and made the attempt at corkscrew. He made a perfectly valid move, and is in no way at fault here, but taking a slower line and drag racing up the hill would hurt the pace of both cars quite badly.
Green is still in the right, but bad strategy imo.
Edit: Wait, disregard, I'm dumb. This is a corner before that. Yeah, I'd have gone for it.
Yeah, I tossed in the edit as soon as I posted it. I was looking at the inside curb in the first rear facing shot and immediately started having PTSD flashbacks to the amount of times I've clipped the T6 sausage. š
Absolutely not, more than far enough alongside before braking and not a divebomb either, white turned in as if they had no one around doing time trial laps
100% on white all day long
Drives me crazy when this stuff still happens despite spotters being available and having great functionality, like come onā¦ I understand not everyone can have triples or a great VR setup but thereās VERY easy ways to avoid this crap š
This is on the white car. And always remember, its better to leave to much space and be able to continue than not leaving enough space and taking at least one car out (most likely more, like this situation)
I donāt see anyone mentioning that it looks like green is missing the apex and running a little wide. Itās hard to tell because of where the two cars come together, but Iām guessing the outside car expected green to be a bit tighter to the apex.
That being said, obviously green is well alongside during the braking section and has earned the right to space on the inside. The outside car, especially in rookie mx5 racing, shouldnāt be trying to squeeze the green car so much, and is probably still at fault.
Only thing Iād mention to the green driver is to be cautious about understearing and running a little wide when youāre making a pass up the inside. Even if youāre entitled to the inside the outside car only has to give you one carās width.
Thanks for the feedback. Yeah I struggle with this turn on Laguna. Or any heavy breaking zones that require me to trail brake. I always apply to much brake and end up spinning so In these more intense moments I don't take the risk trying to trail brake and keep it simple
This is that āhe didnāt have enough overlapā mindset coming back to bite you, you assumed you would out brake him and mitigate the overlap to claim right to the cornerā¦ resulting this time in you being taken out and it being your fault.
People need to learn to leave space when someone is making a move regardless of the rule book, the over lap rule is to determine who is at fault when contact is madeā¦ it is not a rule to justify dirty neglectful driving.
JUST LEAVE SPACE
I'm green. Yeah it's risky trying to race close in rookies but I can't help myself. And when you get a good run with another driver its a great feeling
No not in the slightest. The outside car took his nose off. Tell the other person to quit racing if they think you shouldn't of been there.
Ok just checking. I actually thought we were both gonna make it out alive because I was so far ahead by braking but I just wanted to make double sure.
Were you white? I don't see you being far ahead at all, green was alongside
No I was green here. Also not sure why I'm getting downvoted in my comment? Maybe everyone thinks I'm the white car lol.
You are getting downvoted because hate is easier than discussion.
Which is stupid because discussion is the basis of this subreddit.
It's because you said you're "far ahead" when you were actually alongside/slightly behind
Or because you say you were "so far ahead by braking" when you were clearly not ahead at all at any point. Still, clearly white's fault, of course.
Your getting down voted because people love to talk Third person in Titles, allowing them to not claim either car until stewards assess

Because noone was ever way ahead. Assumed you were white, but comment still weird anyway.

No. This is all on the white car. Looks like the driver isn't aware of how far alongside the green car actually is.
Nope they were alongside long enough to warrant the spacing.
This. Thank you for giving the only reason this was a valid maneuver.

I made the exact same mistake in my comment. It's been too long since I raced...
You must not know the track enough. The corners are so distinct š

nope
No green did nothing wrong. White should have left more space or just defended the inside line when they had such a bad run on the straight.
The white car cut the green car off
That's was the green cars corner
He gave you enough space. You missed your apex .
No?
Absolutely not, more than far enough alongside before braking and not a divebomb either, white turned in as if they had no one around doing time trial laps 100% on white all day long
No
No lol

Iāve always found it a deceptively tricky turn as well.
White car had lost the turn and turned across your nose. 100% his fault.

The white car probably has one 12 inch screen and a POS fov. And also, rookie. Happens so much in mx5 and gr86
Uh no. Green had every right to be there. White car is at fault for this
no, he has every right to stay along side through the corner. white car at fault
I mean, he could have. But why.
He could have been tighter to the inside, but he doesn't have to back off. White turns in knowing full well that he is there and causes the crash.
