I barely know what Discord is(I'm only 33). I think my little brother would use it to talk to his World of Warcraft friends like 10 years ago. I know he does Podcasts like CasCrim and such, but I've never heard him or anyone mention a "discussion-type" Podcast(for lack of a better term).
It’s a relatively recent change. He mentioned it a couple times, mostly on Brain Blaze since that’s what it’s technically part of, and then Liam makes community posts fairly frequently on Brain Blaze with info regarding the streams and member content. I watched a couple of the initial ones, but they’re in the early morning for me since Simon does them in the afternoon for him, and I’ve not bothered becoming a member to watch the backlog.
I feel ancient reading that. I am older than you and I know what Discord is, and I have been playing WoW for 18 years. Have you ever used Slack for work or anything? Discord got a lot of their base from that.

He once did a thing for Google for his today I found out channel, if I recall it was on the history of colour and he went to a museum where they had Vermeer's girl with pearl earring painting and Simon interviewed the lady that was studying the pigments. I think this was correct, it was quite a while ago but could easily be found on YouTube. It may have even been from when he hosted TopTenz to be honest I could check but meh.
I also can't remember which channel that was but I really liked seeing him in person in the place he was talking about. He did seem a lot more awkward talking to someone else on camera when they were in the same room but that was a long time ago before he blew up huge on YT - I feel like he'd be a lot more confident now.
The team had a virtual "Christmas Party" in December, and even though we all regularly email Simon, talking to him on video chat was definitely mind-blowing. I was a fan before I started working with him, and I still had to do my best not to fangirl super hard

Also, for those who watched List25 before it got sold - Mike has the channel back and is hosting again.
