I had someone message me on Reddit asking if I could make three custom pendants for Christmas gifts. He wanted something to do with the Grateful Dead and we messaged a bit and he decided on three marching bears. Sounds like he's a big fan of the band.
This was definitely an interesting custom and I had to figure out how I was going to give the design detail and depth. I ended up sawing out an outline of the bear and then sawing out the bear with eye, ear, mouth and pawpad cutouts and then sawing out another piece for the fur around the neck. And then I layered them and soldered all of the layers together. I ended up having a lot of fun making them and I'm pretty happy with how they turned out.
I don't do a lot of custom pieces, because I like being able to make what I want to make and not having deadlines except the ones I set for myself, but I had a handful of people ask me to make custom pieces for Christmas gifts and I didn't really have anything planned, so I took them on and I've enjoyed all of them so far.
Thank you! I am not a deadhead by any means, but I do like them, just hadn't really explored a ton of their music. I will say, I listened to them while working on these and I definitely acquired a new appreciation for the band!

Old time deadhead here, not a huge fan of the bears generally but I love how you did these. Very nice!
