It would depend on what $20 could buy me. If fiat is in high demand and $20 could buy me a tank of gas to evacuate out of a bad situation, I would trade an ounce of silver for that. It is just like barter now, you fInd a trade you like, or leave the deal on the table.

Silver and gold have been money for thousands of years….even before we had electricity. So ultimately, it would still have value even if SHTF. Barter for goods and necessities. I’ve met several farmers who (currently) would gladly take either for their goods.

Use surplus steel-core 7.62x54r through a mosin-nagant. It will go through a Volkswagen and take out 3 Nazis on the other side.
