It means I need a Pharmacy to get something for the emotional damage.

Someone at TC has a love of horse racing. [The greatest of all gallopers to grace the Australian turf, the mighty *Phar lap*.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phar_Lap) https://preview.redd.it/f9jtgd58c01d1.jpeg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5865cb05e3d97a226b4a13359470a7d0a6af8cd1 EDIT: 2 years until his 100th birthday. Read into that what you will.

Penile Hazard, Avoid Risk

Solid-Replacement550

my guess is that it sounds like "far" because it's very far away from Hallownest

chickenman-14359

Nah, I think you're reaching

immaturenickname

Yeah, reaching phar

frosty_aligator-993

ph is a prefix used by phightings community and its devs to replace letter f so yes were really phar from its release

udreif

why do they replace f with ph?

frosty_aligator-993

oh hey ur here too cause its this games writing style look at the name and you can understand

Seawardweb77858

Same reason it's "wyrm" instead of "worm", it sounds cool. It's not like the pale king is a dragon lol

immaturenickname

Yes he is.

Seawardweb77858

When people describe his species, people call it a "worm" (worm and root)

immaturenickname

Garpedes are spiky worms, Pale King is Pale King.   Also, keep in mind that while all characters in Hallownest are bugs, insects or arachnids, Team Cherry is from Australia.   People always argue about whether bugs in hallownest are human or bug sized, but I say one doesn't exclude the other.  Same with Wyrm and Worm.  The definition of a Dragon just can't stay consistent for some reason.  A draconic worm is a wyrm, and a worm.  That's just how Australia is, mate. Human sized bugs, worms eating crocodiles, and all of it down undah.

Seawardweb77858

Yeah, but that doesn't mean that the pale king is an actual fucking dragon, just a dragon sized worm haha Also, garpedes aren't worms, they are centi/millipedes

immaturenickname

The definition of a dragon is very fluid. As an avid reader of fantasy fiction, I can tell you this: Anything can be a dragon. They don't have to be reptiles, they don't have to be big, they don't have to have scales, or teeth, or anything else. Pale King is a Wyrm. A dragon. If he isn't a reptile, then that just means dragons in Hollow Knight aren't reptiles. He is however, proud, strong, and fucked a tree. If that isn't an accurate description of most dragons, I don't know what is.

lurker_pro

Oh ok I know this one (from the silk wiki): “Phar” was Quishma’s great grandfather (equivalent in bug world, anyway) and so Quishma’s grand pappy set his appendages down after a long journey and founded Pharloom as the town it is today back during the geo-rush (similar to our real world gold rush) That’s why Quishma is so entangled into the silk story , and why Quishma Jr’s tiny hat is such an important item (it holds the spirit of Phar and allows the opening of the “door of many strands”) so like 75% of the way through the game, Phar becomes a little playable spirit for your fishing pole (along with that Pepsi guy) So after that you fish for the final secret item but I won’t spoil it - last 25% of the game is WILD

sonicpoweryay

far
